Correct History of Holi Festival (by Gadhadhar das, Dallas)

Prahalad Maharaj, Sister of Hiranyakashipu Holika, and Festival of Holi

Mayesvara Prabhu's article regarding Holi Festival states: "The Festival of Holi evolved from the teachings in Bhagavad Gita where Lord Krishna clearly declares that He can be seen in the flowers which bloom in the spring:

"Of the hymns in the Sama Veda I am the Brhat-sama, and of poetry I am the Gayatri. Of months I am Margasirsa [November-December], and of seasons I am flower-bearing spring. " - Bhagavad-gita 10.35

The frenzy of colors that are tossed all about at the Holi Festival represents the beautiful colors which emerge in the spring after the cold winter comes to an end. In India everyone knows this and that is the reason why Holi is always celebrated in the spring."

[PADA: As usual, the Gaudiya Matha folks like Mayesvara cannot place the proper history of Vaishnava events.]

Festival of Holi has not evolved from teaching of Bhagavat-gita, but from the incidence of Hiranyakashipu's attempt to kill Prahalad Maharaj by fire. Here is the correct description fromWikipedia:

"The word "Holi" originated from "Holika" sister of Hiranyakashipu. The festival of Holi is celebrated because of a story in the old Hindu religion. In Vaishnavism, Hiranyakashipu is the great king of demons, and he had been granted a boon by Brahma, which made it almost impossible for him to be killed. The boon was due to his long penance, after which he had demanded that he not be killed "during day or night; inside the home or outside, not on earth or in the sky; neither by a man nor an animal; neither by astra nor by shastra". Consequently, he grew arrogant and attacked the Heavens and the Earth. He demanded that people stop worshiping gods and start praising respectfully to him.

According to this belief, Hiranyakashipu's own son, Prahlada, was a devotee of Vishnu. In spite of several threats from Hiranyakashipu, Prahlada continued offering prayers to Vishnu. He was poisoned by Hiranyakashipu, but the poison turned to nectar in his mouth. He was ordered to be trampled by elephants yet remained unharmed. He was put in a room with hungry, venomous snakes and survived. All of Hiranyakashipu's attempts to kill his son failed. Finally, he ordered young Prahlada to sit on a pyre in the lap of Holika, Hiranyakashipu's demoness sister, who also could not die because she had a boon preventing her from being burned by fire. Prahlada readily accepted his father's orders, and prayed to Lord Vishnu to keep him safe. When the fire started, everyone watched in amazement as Holika burnt to death, while Prahlada survived unharmed. The salvation of Prahlada and burning of Holika is celebrated as Holi."

I grew up in a village in Gujarat. Besides color throwing on each other, in every village a pyre of wood and straw, etc. will be set up and fire will be ignited in the evening, and at the end some man will walk through the burning coals to symbolize the survival of Prahalad Maharaj and the death of Hiranyakashipu's sister, Holika.
The message of Holi Festival is that - na me bhakta pranashyati - my devotee will never perish.

The way Holi is being celebrated in ISKCON is a deviation - so are Rasa Garba dances, Demigod worship, etc. The argument of yukta vairagya - take money from bums by hook or crook and use it in Krishna's service - does not hold water, as most of the people are bums. At the end of the day the question will remain: who will reform these bums? We will degrade ourselves into thinking (as is happening) how can we get more money from these bums instead of thinking how can we help these bums spiritually.

Duhsyant Prabhu's article, "Vision 2020 from Bhaktivedanta Manor" states that a $2.8 Million Goshala is called 'Cow Protection' (that is $56,000 / per cow to rest on a concrete floor) and "No one is paid more than UK 60,000 (that is about $90,000)" is considered to be "Vaishnava Devotees in Good Standing". What can they teach others about Cow Protection and simple living and high thinking?

In pursuit of maximum essential is lost. I was at the Sunday Feast on October 27th in Los Angeles. The book table had hundreds of books by authors other than HDG Srila Prabhupada. End result is that Srila Prabhupada's books are crowded out by other books and are competing with other books, and his books are DE-emphasized in this way -- as if every author and every book is as good as Srila Prabhupada and his books. The good part is that there was a good feast and hundreds of Americans as well as Indians were taking part.

Srila Vyasadev compiled 17 Puranas and Mahabharat and still remained unsatisfied. ISKCON leaders should stop concocting different ideas and come back to the simple process of chanting, dancing, feasting, and philosophy and follow do's and dont's as defined by HDG Srila Prabhupada.

Mukund Datta Prabhu (I know him from Houston and Dallas) writes in his article, "Aitihya—Tradition as Authority": "Only one generation of neglect is enough to erase thousands of years of cumulative purification, wisdom, and human attainment in every field."

[PADA: Right, the GBC says that in our Vaishnava tradition the gurus fall down into illicit behavior, that is deviation.]

Deviation is more dangerous than neglect. Deviation takes you in the opposite direction from where you want to go and puts you in illusion that you are on the right path. Neglect incurs loss of further progress for yourself and a lack of clear direction for the next generation.

The GBC needs to clearly define and enforce do's and don'ts. Wishing You Well, yhs- Gadadhar dasa

Re-Marriage Ad Creating Sensation in India

PADA: This ad depicts a woman getting re-married which is considered as taboo in Indian culture (or actually in any religious culture in the "good old days"). So its creating quite a controversy over there because it seems to be accepting -- or even promoting -- the re-marriage idea.

If we look at the comments, we will find yet another controversy, apparently some India TV ads use people who are "bleaching their skin" to artificially appear as "almost like white race" people. All this seems to fit in with Srila Prabhupada's assessment -- that the modern India culture is moving away from its Vedic roots and ideals, and is instead striving to become more Westernized.

Re-marriages, whiter skin, these are Westernized influences. An Indian friend of ours joked, "And in the West, the white people are getting tanned at tanning salons to look -- much darker." In any case these are signs of cultural deterioration and bodily identification with skin color and so forth, which Srila Prabhupada says -- are signs of material consciousness and / or material entanglement. ys pd

Sadhu Das Informed ISKCON Managers / Police Before Attack

****** DASA: Dayaram Dasa, Alok Govinda Dasa and Bhadra Caru Dasa, all of them are officers of Iskcon Mayapura. These members are living out of the Iskcon Mayapur Campus, but they have a re-enforced armed Iskcon security guards. One guy is posted on the roof of Bhadra Caru house with a shot gun caliber 12.

Way before the attack, Sadhu dasa informed to Iskcon Mayapur M.C.S , and informed to the local police station that he will suffer considerable dangerous attach from (JPS followers) Mahabandhu Dasa. So the Mayapura managers M.C.S and the police knew in advance that Sadhu Dasa's life was in imminent risk of death, but purposely they avoided to offer protection (because they are being paid off and are part of the corruption).

About the whole picture today in Mayapur, there is a hidden missing link, that is difficult to understand: Why the authorities there allow these completely fallen down to manage the whole main project of Srila Prabhupada? For many sincere seniors devotees, is a lot of common elements that connect today's Mayapur with the past of New Vrindavan during the madness of Kirtanananda. Its got the same violent cult aspects.

So, who are the responsible for the introduction of that much illusion at the religious complex of Iskcon Mayapur if not the entire GBC body? The wish of His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada for Mayapur was that of a Holy place serve as a perfect example of pure spiritual society, where the rest of the world can visit, where people can become inspired to adopt the holy behavior of Sadhacar, a sinless life of full dedication to the service of God, altogether with His energies. But instead, garbage is growing there. Of course, the daily management of garbage has now become a challenge.

Bhakta Mathias Writes About Siksha and Diksha

Worship of the Pure Devotee is Essential

Dear Prabhus,
a) Srila Prabhupada is the foundational siksa guru for all ISKCON devotees because he has realized and presented the teachings of the previous acaryas of the Brahma Madhava Gaudiya sampradaya appropriately for the modern age.
b) Srila Prabhupada’s instruction are the essential teachings for every ISKCON devotee.
c) Srila Prabhupada’s books are the embodiment of his teachings and should be accepted as the standard by all future generations of ISKCON.
d) Every ISKCON spiritual master is responsible to guide his disciples to follow Srila Prabhupada’s instructions.
(Resolution No. 35 GBC Minutes 1994)
It is clear that the Governing Body Commission states that it is Srila Prabhupada whose instructions we are to follow. It is the instructions of Srila Prabhupada that are the foundational and essential siksa for everyone.
If his instructions are not transmitting divya-jnana then whose are?
“…on the absolute platform siksa and diksa gurus are identical, and it is offensive to try and discriminate between them.” (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Adi -lila1:47, purport).
But by the same verse, since Srila Prabhupada is the diksa Guru of ISKCON, then to try and de-emphasise this on the plea of promoting his role as a siksa guru would be offensive, since one would be trying to discriminate between Srila Prabhupada’s role as the diksa Guru, and Srila Prabhupada’s role as the siksa Guru.
“Srila Prabhupada can only give siksa to newcomers, but not diksa” really ?
It is clearly NOT the present ‘spiritual masters’ who are currently giving the essential divya-jnana. They are simply advising from where it may be obtained. They are assisting but not directly transmitting. As noted earlier, this has been admitted by the GBC themselves.
Diksa Guru:
If therefore, it is Srila Prabhupada who is giving us divya-jnana and thus enabling us to destroy our sinful reactions, then he cannot be none other than our diksa guru. The diksa guru is not the individual who provides the spiritual name or lights the sacrificial fire. The diksa guru is he who gives diksa, the transcendental knowledge that destroys all sinful reactions and takes us back to Godhead.
“Diksa actually means *initiating* a disciple *with transcendental knowledge* by which he becomes freed from all material contamination.” (Madhya-lila, 4:112, Purport)
“Diksa is the process by which one can awaken his transcendental knowledge and vanquish all reactions caused by sinful activity. A person expert in the study of the revealed scriptures knows this process as diksa.”
(C.C. Mad., 15-108)
“First He says the spiritual master awakens the sleeping living entity to his original consciousness so that he can worship Lord Visnu. This is the purpose of diksa or initiation. Initiation means receiving the pure knowledge of spiritual consciousness.” [Madhya-Lila 9.61,purport]
The choice is very simple:
Is the person who tells you to read Srila Prabhupada’s books giving divya-jnana, or the person whose books you actually read ? The answer is of course quite clear.
NOTE: If Srila Prabhupada can still give siksa to everyone as the GBC concede, and if “on the absolute platform siksa and diksa gurus are identical”, then why can he not give diksa via his books to everyone too ? According to Srila Prabhupada, the siksa guru normally goes on to become the diksa guru anyway:
“Generally a spiritual master who constantly instructs a disciple in spiritual science becomes his initiating spiritual master later on.” (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Adi-lila, 1.35, purport)
“It is the duty of the siksa guru or diksa guru to instruct the disciple in the right way, and it depends on the disciple to execute the process. According to sastric injunctions, there is no difference between siksa guru and diksa guru, and generally the siksa guru later on becomes the diksa guru.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.12.32, purport)
The GBC have violated the above principle every day of every year since 1977 since on the one hand they promote Srila Prabhupada as the main siksa Guru for anyone who joins ISKCON, but on the other they flatly deny that it is even possible that he “later on becomes the diksa guru”. What happens normally “later on” in ISKCON is that all Srila Prabhupada’s disciples are stolen by the GBC 2/3 voted in rubber stamped gurus!
Srila Prabhupada taught that we are permitted just one diksa Guru, who must be completely liberated, and unlimited siksa gurus who may or may not be liberated. The confusion between diksa and siksa gurus occurs because their titles are confused with their function. Thus it is sometimes assumed that only the siksa guru gives siksa, but not the diksa guru. However, as the last quote above clearly demonstrates, the diksa guru also instructs. This should be obvious, otherwise how else will he transmit divya-jnana (transcendental knowledge)?:
Pradyumna: “Guru-padasrayah. “First one must take shelter of the lotus feet of a spiritual master.” Tasmat Krsna- diksadi-siksanam. Tasmat, “from him”, Krsna-diksadi-siksanam, “one should take Krsna- diksa, initiation, and siksa.”"
Srila Prabhupada: “Diksa means divya-jnanam ksapayati iti diksa. Which explains the divya-jnana, transcendental, that is diksa. Di, divya, diksanam. diksa. So divya-jnana, transcendental knowledge(…)”
Pradyumna: “Krsna- diksadi-siksanam.”
Srila Prabhupada: “Siksanam. We have to learn. If you don’t learn, how you’ll make progress?”
(Srila Prabhupada Room Conversation, 27/1/77)
That siksa is included in diksa is evident from the most well known verse on the guru-disciple relationship:
“Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.”
(Bhagavad-gita, 4:34 [1972 original first ed.]) !!!
NOTE: In this verse the word “upadeksyanti” is translated in the word-for-word translation as meaning to “initiate”; however, in the full translation this to “initiate” is rendered as requiring the Guru to “impart” (knowledge). Consequently the “Prabhupada is siksa not diksa” advocates are caught in a logistical trap of their own making.
If Srila Prabhupada is capable of “imparting knowledge” or “divya-jnana” to newcomers via his books , which the GBC concede in advocating him as the pre-eminent siksa Guru for ISKCON, then he must by definition be able to initiate or give diksa too. Transcendental knowledge or transcendental siksa = divya-jnana is , after all, the main constituent of diksa ( only possible to received from an qualified bona fide Diksa guru, means uttama-adikari and special authorized acarya) :
“Diksa actually means initiating a disciple with transcendental knowledge by which he becomes freed from all material contamination.” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila, 4:112, purport)
“Diksa is the process by which one can awaken his transcendental knowledge and vanquish all reactions caused by sinful activity. A person expert in the study of the revealed scriptures knows this process as diksa.” !!!! (Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila, 15.108, purport)
NOTE: It is obviously ludicrous to argue that Srila Prabhupada can impart transcendental knowledge ( divya-jnana) when not on the planet if we call him a siksa Guru, but not do so if we call him a diksa Guru. Therefore, if Srila Prabhupada can impart transcendental knowledge to newcomers via his books , letters and tapes whilst not on this planet, and he is the latest or current link in the chain of disciplic succession, what prevents him from being their diksa Guru? Prabhupada never elected or appointed diksa-gurus for after his departure !! Therefore the GBC rubber stamped “gurus” via 2/3 hand vote !! This is a fact!
Thus since the GBC accept that Srila Prabhupada can impart “transcendental knowledge” to everyone via his “pre-eminent siksa”, and since Srila Prabhupada has already agreed to accept as a disciple anyone who follows his teachings for a minimum of six months (via representational priests or ritviks), the GBC and others should stop inventing baseless myths and start following his pre-eminent instructions, beginning with the one issued on July 9th 1977, which continued his position as the sole diksa Guru of ISKCON.
“The initiating and instructing spiritual masters are equal and identical manifestations of Krsna, although they have different dealings.” (Caitanya-caritamrita, Adi 1.34, purport )
“Therefore, there is no difference between siksa-guru and diksa-guru . . .” (Room conversation in Bhubanesva on Jan. 31, 1977)
“According to sastric injunctions, there is no difference between siksa-guru and diksa-guru, and generally the siksa-guru later on becomes the diksa-guru.” (Srimad-bhagavatam, 4.12.32, purport)
ACTUAL POSITION OF THE GBC : “The GBC should all be the instructor gurus. I am the initiator guru, and you should be the instructor guru by teaching what I am teaching and doing what I am doing. This is not a title, but you must actually come to this platform. This I want.” !!
(SPL to Madhudvisa Swami, 4th August, 1975) “There are two kinds of instructing spiritual masters. One is the liberated person fully absorbed in meditation in devotional service, and the other is he who invokes the disciple’s spiritual consciousness by means of relevant instructions.”
(CC Adi, 1.47 )
NOTE: Here Srila Prabhupada describes the two kinds of instructor gurus. The second describes a person who gives instructions based on the revealed scriptures. He must be not full liberated !!! The first describes the siksa guru Srila Prabhupada wants us all to become. On this platform we will be fully qualified to preach the glories of the Lord !!
“The diksa-guru and the siksa-guru are both intimate servitors of Lord Krsna.” (Harinama-cintamani of Srila Bhaktivinode Thakur)

Appearance Day Of Virabadhra prabhu

Cannibal Witch Doctor Defeats GBC's Shastra Advisors

ANON says: Prabhupada wanted a GBC advisory committee. Prabhupada wanted a GBC. And the GBC wanted the committee. Prabhupada himself would have followed the committee if he wanted to. One time Prabhupada was at an airport and Brahmananda made an announcement that all the devotees had to leave so Srila Prabhupada got up to leave too! Does that mean Brahmananda was greater than the acharya? No you @ss! A guru can choose to follow the orders of his guru just to set an example. Krishna chose a guru. Does that mean his guru was instructing Him, the Supreme Personality of Godhead? No. So any guru can accept teachings from the SAC it doesn't make them any less of a guru it just makes you stupid that you cannot understand things.

[PADA: OK thats not answering the questions at all? The GBC has penned many position papers over the years, starting actually in 1979, when they began to say acharyas can fall and be engaged in illicit sex and drugs (like Jayatirtha was). So their whole idea since 1978 really is -- establishing that acharyas often fall down into illicit behaviors, since most of their acharyas has subsequently fallen into illicit behaviors. The current GBC / gurus idea is not from shastra, rather shastra says we cannot attack Krishna and His acharyas by saying they are mundane men who are falling, if not they are criminals and debauchees etc.

That means the GBC gurus do not even know what the ten offenses are, i.e. that its an offense to consider that the acharyas are ordinary and fallen men. They do not know that SHASTRA and Srila Prabhupada says that anyone who says acharyas are deviating are residents of of hell "gurusuh narah matih - naraka sah," Srila Prabhupada translates "narakah sah" -- it means he is ALREADY in hell. So the GBC's gurus saying the Lord's successor gurus are falling means, from shastra at least, they are in hell -- already. Why should we listen to people who are already living in hell, according to shastra?

Now lets compare the GBC's gurus and their shastra advisors to the cannibal religion. Srila Prabhupada says that at least in the African natives religions -- they worship parts of the "universal form" of Krishna, such as lightening, a mountain, a lion, something wonderful like that. So they worship some wonderful creation of God, even in the cannibal religion.

Whereas the GBC's spokesman, position paper writer, and main editor "Jayadvaita swami" writes (on behalf of the shastra advisors and ISKCON) that in ISKCON their acharyas are often falling into "illicit sex with men, women and children." That means your shatra advisor's religion worships illicit sex, which is not found in any religion on earth. Is there any shastra in any major religion that tells people to worship illicit sex as their messiahs?

The cannibal witch doctor not only does not worship illicit sex with men women and children, he only worships some nice creation of God. In fact, the witch doctor does not even think of worship of illicit sex with men, women and children even in his wildest nightmares, because the idea is so  abominable, so sordid, so odious, so offensive, so totally obnoxious, he does not even think of this idea ever. That is because, the cannibal witch doctor is WAY more advanced than you and your shastra advisors. We have asked this question all along since 1979, in which religion and in which shastra do they promote the worship of illicit sex as their messiahs, like you and your shastra advisors are doing? Your idea is less than the cannibal religion, what to speak of other religions, according to shastra at least.

Sorry, what shastra really says is, anyone who establishes false acharyas is "destined for the most obnoxious regions of the universe. Yes, that means you are going to an even lower planet than the cannibal witch doctors, because at least the cannibals worship the divine manifestations of God and not abominable acts which are less than animal behaviors. Shastra says worship of illicit sex is the lowest worship there is, and its going to take one to the lowest regions (Sri Isopanisad). And shastra even says that the people who worship false acharyas (veda vada rata) are better off to have never even heard of the vedas, because they will go much further down than the ordinary mundane man who at least has some sense of pious behaviors. Then again even the witch doctor has more sense than you and your shastra advisors, at least so says shastra. Shastra says you are an abomination, that you were better to never heard of the vedas, thats what shastra says, and unlike you, we believe it.

Srila Prabhupada says worship of parts of of the universal form (as even the cannibals do) is superior to the demons who worship illicit sex, he says that all over his shastra. You are not reading the shastra, that is the problem. ys pd

I am An Elephant -- Maha Vishnu swami's New Whacked-out Song

[PADA: Yes, as a matter of fact, these GBC "gurus" are going more and more bonkers. And they have been all along, Jayatirtha went off the rails right at the start of all this. Satsvarupa is famous for being bonkers, writing about his enemas, and the gopis, all in the same book. This is all described in the Bhagavad Gita, the foolish speculators lose their intelligence, buddhi nasa. The good news is that Lord Yama has a nice rest home for these bogus fraud imitations, speculators, and persons who support the idea that pure devotees are debauchees and mad fools, they will be resting nicely on the beach, in crab bodies. Hee hee! ys pd]

Gurus Need A Shastra Advisory Committee?

PADA: This article explains how ISKCON needs to follow the tradition of India. Good idea. Except the author is a member of the GBC's "Shastric Advisory Committee," which "advises" the GBC's acharyas. That means, the author (Mukunda Datta das) assumes that he is greater than the acharyas, because he is the advisor to the acharyas.

This is not in our tradition, that the acharyas have "shastric advisors"? Nor has the author proven that he is superior to the acharyas and that he can thus be an advisor to them? Then again in ISKCON the acharyas are often fallen into illicit sex, so it seems the first "advice" would be to say, these folks are not acharyas, and the people who supported these foolish people as acharyas are -- not in the tradition? Then again the shastra advisory program has never completed their GBC guru tattva paper which they said they would have completed some years ago? ys pd]

Very Nice Analysis by a Thoughtful Devotee

[PADA: More and more devotees are adopting the PADA idea that the GBC's gurus are a business franchise, which is what we said in the 1980s. That means our idea is spreading all over the place. We are not going to give her name to protect her from potential reprisals from the Goonda Bully Regime. The PADA idea is attracting more and more of these intelligent and thoughtful people. This is her comment below: ys pd]

"The entire mission has been turned into a franchise. And of course the "new India" mood adopted by the Indian devotees, especially those under the age of 50, is one of reckless enterprise and competition, following the model of the US and Europe of the 80s. The Western Iskcon devotees isolate themselves more and more from the real India, creating thus their own emerging caste system within an already gone wrong caste system. This they do for lack of understanding of the real meaning of their mission.

Anyone who pledges lip-loyalty to Srila Prabhupada is allowed to exploit others without accountability. And in that environment this exploitation means taking advantage of the already immoral social atrocities committed in India in the name of God. Thus the mission is unfortunately contributing more for the destruction of the dham than for its preservation.

Another example of that is the erroneous planetarium built there, for tourists. A monument to the misleading spirit of the recent decision makers there.

These things need to be addressed urgently."

Mahesh Raja distributing PADA papers in UK "had major impact"

Abhaya carana seva das :At any moment we can find ourselves in hell especially when we use Krsna consciousness to get a salary.
Mahesh: Prabhus -- All Glories to Srila Prabhupada OUR BONAFIDE DIKSA GURU! Please accept my humble obeisances. Hare Krsna! I am hoping this simple message gets across to the devotees in ISKCON at Bhaktivedanta Manor.
In 1990′s I was distributing/posting to all over the world and more particularly UK temple members and congregation thousands of literatures based on Srila Prabhupada is the CURRENT Diksa Guru and Ritvik system is his order.

Literatures like “The Betrayal” (Puranjana Prabhu's compilation) etc. had a major impact.

So once Kripamoya das phoned me to ask if I was the cause of “disturbance” I just ignored him as I found his attitude arrogant. Then Titiksu das (ex Liverpool Temple President and current Trustee at Bhaktivedanta Manor as mentioned in the Accounts) phoned me he wanted all the papers -- I sent him. In the talk I had with him I mentioned I spoke to the accountant and he told me Akhandadi the ex -- Bhaktivedanta Temple President was taking a salary of £5,000 per WEEK. Plus -- he had a few properties to his name in Ireland.
Kripamoya das has put himself as a self-made guru. Srila Prabhupada NEVER authorized him as Diksa guru. Not only that, he and Amita das were PARTNERS in BBT UK which they transferred to Bhaktivedanta Books Limited (BBL) a PRIVATE OWNED COMPANY.
In the talks I had with Titiksu das at the time in 1990s, he, Titiksu das, told me personally, that he was NOT taking ANY salaries at that time. So what is this in the ACCOUNTS for 2011? “No employee received emoluments of more than £60,000 in the year”
This is an ADMISSION OF SALARIES IN THE REGION OF UPTO £60,000. Defy Srila Prabhupada and you get your RETURNS:
Bg 16.11-12 T The Divine And DEMONIAC Natures
They believe that to gratify the senses unto the end of life is the prime necessity of human civilization. THUS THERE IS NO END TO THEIR ANXIETY. BEING BOUND BY HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS OF DESIRES, BY LUST AND ANGER, THEY SECURE MONEY BY ILLEGAL MEANS FOR SENSE GRATIFICATION.
KB 49 Ill-motivated Dhrtarastra
Akrura further advised Dhrtarastra, “In this material world, no one can remain as an eternal companion to another. By chance only we assemble together in the family, in the society, in the community or in the nation, but at the end, because every one of us has to give up the body, we must be separated. One should not, therefore, be unnecessarily affectionate toward family members.” Dhrtarastra’s affection was also unlawful and did not show much intelligence. In plain words, Akrura hinted to Dhrtarastra that his staunch family affection was due to his gross ignorance of fact. Although we appear to be combined together in family, society or nation, each one of us has an individual destiny. Everyone takes birth according to individual past work; therefore everyone has to individually enjoy or suffer the result of his own karma. There is no possibility of improving one’s destiny by cooperative living. SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS THAT ONE’S FATHER ACCUMULATES WEALTH BY ILLEGAL WAYS, AND THE SON TAKES AWAY THE MONEY, ALTHOUGH IT IS HARD-EARNED BY THE FATHER. IT IS JUST LIKE A SMALL FISH IN THE OCEAN WHO EATS THE MATERIAL BODY OF THE LARGE, OLD FISH. ONE ULTIMATELY CANNOT ACCUMULATE WEALTH ILLEGALLY FOR THE GRATIFICATION OF HIS FAMILY, SOCIETY, COMMUNITY OR NATION. THAT MANY GREAT EMPIRES WHICH DEVELOPED IN THE PAST ARE NO LONGER EXISTING BECAUSE THEIR WEALTH WAS SQUANDERED AWAY BY LATER DESCENDANTS IS AN ILLUSTRATION OF THIS PRINCIPLE. ONE WHO DOES NOT KNOW THIS SUBTLE LAW OF FRUITIVE ACTIVITIES AND THUS GIVES UP THE MORAL AND ETHICAL PRINCIPLES ONLY CARRIES WITH HIM THE REACTIONS OF HIS SINFUL ACTIVITIES. HIS ILL-GOTTEN WEALTH AND POSSESSIONS ARE TAKEN BY SOMEONE ELSE, AND HE GOES TO THE DARKEST REGION OF HELLISH LIFE. One should not, therefore, accumulate more wealth than is allotted to him by destiny; otherwise he will be factually blind to his own interest. Instead of fulfilling his self-interest, he will act in just the opposite way for his own downfall.

Texts 13-16: The demoniac person thinks: “SO MUCH WEALTH DO I HAVE TODAY, AND I WILL GAIN MORE ACCORDING TO MY SCHEMES. SO MUCH IS MINE NOW, AND IT WILL INCREASE IN THE FUTURE, MORE AND MORE. He is my enemy, and I have killed him; and my other enemy will also be killed. I am the lord of everything. I am the enjoyer. I am perfect, powerful and happy. I am the richest man, surrounded by aristocratic relatives. There is none so powerful and happy as I am. I shall perform sacrifices, I shall give some charity, and thus I shall rejoice.” In this way, such persons are deluded by ignorance. Thus perplexed by various anxieties and bound by a network of illusions, one becomes too strongly attached to sense enjoyment and FALLS DOWN INTO HELL.
We Prabhupadanugas simple HUMBLE REQUEST is that you folks you are so much after your BIG BIG SALARIES try and come to some conclusion by
2) ONLY distribute Srila Prabhupada’s unchanged ORIGINAL books.
or else, as Srila Prabhupada states: “Thus perplexed by various anxieties and bound by a network of illusions, one becomes too strongly attached to sense enjoyment and FALLS DOWN INTO HELL.”
This is not something to be taken lightly -- IT WILL HAPPEN!
Ps. the Cow shed which was built there at £ 2.8 MILLION -- some business folks who donate to the temple went and gave me a report that it is NOT worth even £400,000 the materials used do not add-up. Floor of cement is not for the cows benefit either.
Hoping that our HUMBLE REQUEST will appeal to you prabhus -- and you respond favourably. It is still not too late. We are all now approaching in our 50′s and 60′s -- then we ALL have to go.
We CAN forgive the past IF YOU folks help to RESTORE Srila Prabhupada as CURRENT DIKSA GURU and ONLY distribute ORIGINAL UNCHANGED Srila Prabhupada’s books.
Often excuses are given “Ritviks” are this this this etc BUT we are PRACTICAL if you respond FAVOURABLY we DO co-operate.
Insofar as salaries are concerned -- there can be a set PRACTICAL OPENLY AGREED timing IN THE SOCIETY to help you folks to GRADUALLY sort your self out. Where is the problem?
Come back to Srila Prabhupada prabhus!
Hare Krsna!

Save Hawaii ISKCON!

{PADA: Govinda dasi has added a comment on the bottom, sorry, we were told she was supporting the petition below and her name was on the original text someone sent us. She says that she does not support this actual petition, but she has other comments. Please read her comment below in the comments section. In any case we have heard all kinds of horrible things about the managers in Hawaii, so there is some sort of problem there. Govinda dasi should write a detailed article on the history of all this and explain the whole situation from her point of view, this mess begs explaining. ys pd]

We, the ISKCON International communiity: Show our loving support to Iskcon Hawaii at Srila Prabhupada's sacred tirtha of New Navadwip,

We, the ISKCON International communiity: Show our loving support to Iskcon Hawaii at Srila Prabhupada's sacred tirtha of New Navadwip,

    1. Prabhupada Das
    3. Petition by
      United States

This Is most important because currently the GBC has not visited Iskcon Hawaii in 2 years to see and hear for himself exactly how a temple in his zone is being managed and refuses to take action despite numerous appeals via phone and email from concerned and extremely dedicated temple devotees serving both full and part time in different capacities. This petition is also of utmost importance because the current temple president refuses to follow the basic standars required by Iskcon law and His Divine Grace, to daily attend the full morning program, visibly chant their japa purely and offenselessly. This neglect by both GBC and Temple President does not establish a strong foundation for the spreading of Krishna consciousness in a spirit of cooperation and love and trust, We sign this petition in support that once and for all, humbly request Iskcon Hawaii be managed by a GBC who ensures that the proper standards are maintained by a qualified temple president, according to Iskcon law. Furthermore, we support that the Iskcon Hawaii community stop being vilified, ostracized or banned for simply wanting to ensure that they have a voice in the future spiritual success of their temple.

GBC Guru Club Are Usurpers (by Abhaya Charana Seva das)

Bangalore Devotees Worship the Bona Fide Guru Srila Prabhupada

Abhaya Carana Seva das says:

Please Accept My Most Humble Obeisances, All Glories to Srila Prabhupada,

Well to tell you the truth, ISKCON's illegal profit, distinction and adoration guru club will keep on going as long as the fake reflection is kept fed by the three gunas of the material nature. All these unworthy usurpers of the transcendental position of SRILA PRABHUPADA in iskcon as diksa guru are very sinful because they make innocent sadhaka followers worship the fake reflection of the truth, trapped in the bodily concept of life through this illegal guru profiteers club, based on the phalguni tatha mahata jivo jivasya jivanam -- the weakest become food for the strongest.

The law of nature is that the strong want to feed on a weaker life form of life. All of these deviants of SRILA PRABHUPADA instructions became the strongest link in fiskcon due to the super contaminated influences of the false reflections of kali yuga. They got the karma of being the fake reflections of their blind disciples as well, like that Kesava bharati swami, who was a intimate friend of Tamala asura pada, who was discussing secretly in Sri Vrindavan dham the way to get rid of SRILA PRABHUPADA and take over his iskcon.

He took sannyasi again by the Gunda Body Commission in fiskcon, this so called guru sannyasi used to spend all the lakshmi of the sankirtan temple from Spain to go to prostitutes, where he was addicted because of his offenses to the lotus feet of our beloved acharya HDG ACBSP. I saw a video a little while ago where some donkey disciples were washing KBS feet, and this is still very offensive because that ceremony is only for the paramahamsas like HDG ACBSP, it is not for rascals who poisoned our guru maharaj to take over iskcon, fleece the devotees, and usurp the position of SRILA PRABHUPADA in iskcon as diksa guru.

Actually there are so many fake things around us especially in this dark age of quarrel and hypocrisy, its not easy to find good satsang because almost everything and everyone got contaminated by the degraded influences of kali. Only the divyan jnana perfect changeless trancendental knowledge of SRILA PRABHUPADA books is eternally pure, therefore whoever wants become pure will have to take complete shelter in SRILA PRABHUPADA books and not in all these fake pretenders whose business is to make profit by exploiting the weakest, therefore both of them will get more entagled in the false reflection of the truth without any hope to come out from this pukka double -- "kama rupam durasadam" prison house, which keeps everyone more trapped in this "yantrarudhani mayaya," unwanted body machine, mades by gunas and karmas, ys ys haribol

Pratyatosa On Windle Turley Lawsuit

Q: "Did you not get involved in the Turley Law Suit Case to help drain ISKCON of millions of dollars"?

Pratyatosa das replies:

1. I was the one who first contacted the Turley law firm when I was in the process of being kicked out of the ISKCON St. Louis temple in the fall of 1997.

2. I was their first Hare Krishna contact, 1½ years later, when I was living in the ISKCON Detroit devotee community.

3. I convinced Mr. Turley to take the case.

4. I never had the slightest doubt that the lawsuit was Kṛṣṇa’s desire.

5. I was fully prepared to testify in court without any fear because I had absolutely nothing to hide.

6. I am grateful that the 2nd generation was finally able to see clearly that they were simply victimized as helpless children so that they could finally stop feeling guilty. As a result, the 2nd generation suicides immediately dropped practically to nil!

Windle Turley Lawsuit explained:

Ex-kuli (Jvalamukhi dd) discusses ISKCONs children:

Founder of child abuse regime -- Tamal Krishna swami vs PADA:

[PADA: No one else did anything to help these children up till then, or ever since. Nothing was ever done by anyone else to fix this problem. Basically, the critics wanted the suicides to continue and even -- to get worse, there is no other explanation. ys pd]

History Of The Discovery of Radha Kunda

[PADA: Thanks to Yasodananda das for these quotes]

Srila Prabhupada explains the history of the discovery of Radha-Kunda:

The spot where we now find Śrī Rādhā-kuṇḍa was an agricultural field during the time of Caitanya Mahāprabhu. A small reservoir of water was there, and Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu bathed in that water and pointed out that originally Rādhā-kuṇḍa existed in that location. Following His directions, Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and Sanātana Gosvāmī renovated Rādhā-kuṇḍa.

This is one of the brilliant examples of how the Gosvāmīs excavated lost places of pilgrimage. Similarly, it is through the endeavor of the Gosvāmīs that all the important temples at Vṛndāvana were established. Originally there were seven important Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava temples established in Vṛndāvana, namely, the Madana-mohana temple, Govinda temple, Gopīnātha temple, Śrī Rādhāramaṇa temple, Rādhā-Śyāmasundara temple, Rādhā-Dāmodara temple and Gokulānanda temple.

Distinguishing between pure devotees and internal or confidential devotees, Śrī Rūpa Gosvāmī, in his book Upadeśāmṛta, traces the following gradual process of development. Out of many thousands of karmīs, one is better when he is situated in perfect Vedic knowledge. Out of many such learned scholars and philosophers, one who is actually liberated from material bondage is better, and out of many such persons who are actually liberated, one who is a devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is considered to be the best. Among the many such transcendental lovers of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the gopīs are the best, and among the gopīs Śrīmatī Rādhikā is the best. Śrīmatī Rādhikā is very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa, and similarly Her ponds, namely, Śyāma-kuṇḍa and Rādhā-kuṇḍa, are also very dear to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 7: Lord Caitanya in Five Features : Adi 7.18-19

Āriṭ-grāma is also called Ariṣṭa-grāma. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu understood that in that village, Ariṣṭāsura was killed by Śrī Kṛṣṇa. While there, He inquired about Rādhā-kuṇḍa, but no one could tell Him where it was. The brāhmaṇa accompanying Him could also not ascertain its whereabouts. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu could then understand that the holy places known as Rādhā-kuṇḍa and Śyāma-kuṇḍa were at that time lost to everyone's vision. He therefore discovered Rādhā-kuṇḍa and Śyāma-kuṇḍa, which were two reservoirs of water in two paddy fields. Although there was very little water, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was omniscient and could understand that formerly these two ponds were called Śrī Rādhā-kuṇḍa and Śyāma-kuṇḍa. In this way Rādhā-kuṇḍa and Śyāma-kuṇḍa were discovered.

"Because of its wonderful transcendental qualities, Rādhā-kuṇḍa is as dear to Kṛṣṇa as Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī. It was in that lake that the all-opulent Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa performed His pastimes with Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī with great pleasure and transcendental bliss. Whoever bathes just once in Rādhā-kuṇḍa attains Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī's loving attraction for Śrī Kṛṣṇa. Who within this world can describe the glories and sweetness of Śrī Rādhā-kuṇḍa?"

Lectures : Srimad-Bhagavatam Lectures : Canto 1: Lectures : SB 1.1: Lectures : Srimad-Bhagavatam 1.1.9 -- Auckland, February 20, 1973 : 730220sb.auc :

Prabhupāda: Yes. The ācārya or gosvāmī, their business is... Just like our ācāryas, sad-gosvāmī, they left their service, big service, ministership, and by the order of Caitanya Mahāprabhu they went to Vṛndāvana. But what for, going to Vṛndāvana and sleeping and eating? No, no, not for that purpose. They, rather at home they had time to sleep more, but when they went to Vṛndāvana they were sleeping only one half-hour to two hours only. At the present moment when a man becomes old, he requires more rest. But according to Vedic civilization, no more rest, more work, more work. But these gosvāmīs, they were deputed by Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu... At that time this Vṛndāvana, which you have seen, now it is nice city, but during the time of Caitanya Mahāprabhu it was a big field only, that's all, nothing was there. Everything, all Kṛṣṇa's līlā were vanished. Not vanished, it was not visible. Caitanya Mahāprabhu saw one small hole, little water, and He indicated, "This is Rādhā-kuṇḍa."

Then Rādhā-kuṇḍa was discovered. So these Gosvāmīs were working very hard. And special business was there, nana-śāstra-vicaraṇaika-nipunau. They were very expert in scrutinizingly studying all the Vedic literatures. Nana-śāstra, śāstra, not ordinary knowledge. They were also reading(?). Nana-śāstra-vicaraṇaika-nipunau. Just like Rūpa Gosvāmī has quoted so many verses, so many incidences from different śāstras, how the biography is stated there in compiling Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu, which we've translated, Nectar of Devotion. So this Nectar of Devotion, because formerly whatever is given under Vedic evidence it will be accepted always correct. Therefore nana-śāstra-vicaraṇaika. They used to collect all the Vedic references and put into Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu to establish that bhagavad-bhakti, devotional service to the Lord, is the ultimate goal of life. Nānā-śāstra-vicāraṇaika-nipuṇau sad-dharma-saṁsthāpakau. Sad-dharma. Not asad-dharma. Asad-dharma means referring to the body, karma-kāṇḍīya. Karmīs they are engaged in asad-dharma not sad-dharma. Because the body is asat. antavanta ime dehā nityasyoktāḥ śarīriṇaḥ [Bg. 2.18].

At Least Pundarikaksam dasa Made It To Vrndavana

Pundarikaksam das, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada from the USA, is terminally ill in the Bhaktivedanta Hospice in Vrindavan. The doctors have given him 2 months to live.

[PADA: OK good, at least a select few original Srila Prabhupada disciples are getting some Hospice care in Vrndavana while they are dying. Its great to see that is happening -- for at least a few of us, so we give credit where its due. However, it seems most of the original disciples are dying in isolated situations in the West, that is -- if any of the rest of the devotees even know about their departures?

Is anyone keeping records? Is there any web site that is showing who is left, who has gone, and so on? We are in any case very happy this devotee was able to make it to Vrndavana, may he get the blessings and mercy of Krishna there.

We have some Christian friends and they keep elaborate track of every single person in their program. They know who had a baby today, whose grand mother is sick and in the hospital today, who died today, in short they know the status and whereabouts of every single member, because they care for the well being and welfare of their members. They also have a food warehouse for members who are down on their luck, a list of people with special skills in case you are broke and need some repairs etc., in sum -- we could learn a lot about basic human compassion and helping our fellow God brothers and sisters from these people. ys pd]

ISKCON Monks Protest Russian Embassy

[PADA: Thats also what we wanted to have. We wanted maybe 50 devotees with signs to protest in front of an ISKCON temple against the worship of illicit sex and drugs. Well, we could not find volunteers for that idea. So we had to handle it in our own way. The idea is great, Lord Chaitanya was making public protest of the Kazi. We needed that too. We are finally getting our protest together, but the protesters are spread out over the world, but hey, something is better than nothing. ys pd]

Hare Krishna,

ISKCON monks protest in front of Russian embassy
With Prime Minister Manmohan Singh leaving on a visit to Russia and China, monks of ISKCON on Sunday staged a demonstration outside the Russian consulate here to protest the threat of demolition of the only ISKCON temple in that country.

Pitfalls of gramya katha (village talk) - Srila Prabhupada
We should not indulge in gramya-katha. That will mislead us. And if we do not indulge in gramya-katha, but if we make advancement on Krishna-katha, then we are always situated on transcendental position. We are no more affected by the modes of material nature.

Janmashtami at Krishna Balaram Temple, Sunnyvale, California.

Jai Srila Prabhupada!
