Perils Of Replacing Srila Prabhupada in ISKCON (PADA video)

"Better to associate with sense enjoyers for in this world there is no worse association than the dharmadvaji. The deceitful dharmadvajis accept the external signs of dharma with a desire to cheat the world, and to fulfill their crooked desires they cheat the foolish by helping them in their rascaldom. Some of them become gurus and others become disciples, and by trickery they accumulate wealth, women, false prestige and material assets. If one gives up the association of such crooked hypocrites, then he can honestly engage in devotional service. Honest worship is the only way to obtain Krsna’s mercy".

Fall Down Can Last Millions of Years (Srila Prabhupada)

So don't do anything which will make Kṛṣṇa unhappy.

OTHERWISE THERE IS FALL DOWN, AND ONCE FALL DOWN MEANS A GAP OF MILLIONS OF YEARS.

Srila Prabhupada : Without care to worship the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa, they are falling down. So we should be very, very careful not to try to become equal or greater than Kṛṣṇa. There are some rascals, they say that "Such and such rascal is greater than Kṛṣṇa." I do not wish to mention their name.

The rascals, they say that "Aurobindo is greater than Kṛṣṇa." They say like that. Do you know that? So this, the world, is full of rascals and fools. We have to... Very cautiously and intelligently we have to make progress in spiritual life. Don't take it very insignificantly. We should be very much careful. Otherwise there is fall down, and once fall down means a gap of millions of years. You have got this human form of life to complete Kṛṣṇa consciousness, but if you are not serious, then again the gap will be millions of years.

Therefore our duty is tāṅdera caraṇa sevi, bhakta-sane vās. We should live with the devotees and be engaged in the service of the ācāryas. Ācāryaṁ māṁ vijānīyān nāvamanyeta karhicit [SB 11.17.27]. One should understand ācārya as Kṛṣṇa Himself. Don't disregard him. Yasya deve parā bhaktir yathā deve tathā gurau [ŚU 6.23]. These are the statement. So we must be very cautious.

Just like here also. The brahmādaya, big, big demigods, they could not pacify, appease the Lord. He was angry. Evaṁ surādayaḥ sarve brahma-rudra-puraḥ sarāḥ. Big, big personalities, rudra, na upaitum. Na upaitum aśakan manyu. They could not pacify Hmm, and saṁrambhaṁ sudurāsadam. Sudurāsadam, very, very difficult. Once we are condemned by Kṛṣṇa, it is very, very difficult to rise up again. Mūḍhā janmani janmani [Bg. 16.20]. Life after life we shall be condemned. That is our punishment.

So don't do anything which will make Kṛṣṇa unhappy. Simply engage yourself in the service of the Lord. Very simple thing. Man-manā bhava mad-bhakto mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru [Bg. 18.65]. Simply always think of Him. Do not think anyone, anything else. Sarvopādhi-vinirmuktam [Cc. Madhya 19.170]. Anyābhilāṣitā-śūnyam [Brs. 1.1.11]. Just try to maintain your service for Kṛṣṇa. There is twenty-four hours' engagement, and try to follow it. Do not neglect it. That will make your life successful.

Hare Krishna Kirtan (Dyuti Devi) Video

Your Activity is Recorded Automatically (Srila Prabhupada)

"Because you are killing one ant unconsciously while walking, your name is noted. Your ticket is immediately there: "Oh, you have killed so many ants." The law is so nice. Prakṛteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi [Bg. 3.27]. Automatically it is recorded, automatically, and you have to suffer.

So then what to do? If the situation is like that, how to save? Therefore Kṛṣṇa says, yajñārthe karmaṇānyatra karma-bandhanaḥ. If you dedicate your life for yajña... Yajña means for Viṣṇu. Yajñārthe karma means Yajña-puruṣa is Viṣṇu. If you work for Viṣṇu, then you are safe. Otherwise you are becoming complicated. Yajñārthe. Kṛṣṇa says yajñārthe karma anyatra karma-bandhanaḥ. If you are going to office to earn your bread, very hurriedly to attend the office, and you are killing so many ants, you are becoming entangled.

You think, "I am going to office to do my duty very hurriedly," but you are becoming implicated. But if you go out for receiving some help for worshiping Viṣṇu, then you are free. Then you are free. Exactly like that: soldier who is fighting in the battlefield and killing so many men and he is given gold medal, "Oh, you have killed so many. So many lives you have killed of the opposite party, enemy. You take this Victoria Cross." He becomes recognized by the government. The same man, when he comes home, if he kills somebody for his sense gratification, he will be hanged. The same man."

Gita's Instructions Never Fail (AK das)

A K Das: Are you happy with how your life is going? If the answer is 'No', then quit being mere memorisers, reciters, theorists and start being sincere practitioners of Bhagavad-Gita. Kalpas change, yugas change, Brahmas come and go, but the Instructions of Bhagavad-Gita never fail. Lord Krishna is the Supreme Person, He is the support of everything, He is beyond past, present, and future and so are His Instructions. Don't be a weakling. Procrastination and laziness are your biggest enemies. Self effort and will power are your best friends. You have created your present destiny by your own efforts in the past births.

And you can change your destiny by changing your mindset and performing Krishnaized self efforts in this birth. Endeavors performed only for the pleasure of the Supreme Lord Krishna can eradicate all your distress, past-present karma, and revive your dormant love for Him.

As soon as you connect and surrender to Supreme Lord by your actions and efforts, your life will transform. You're the eternal child of Lord Krishna and you're meant to love and serve Him. This is your greatest duty.

The helplessness and weakness you feel is caused by no one but yourself. Your weak mind is constantly being pulled by your past bad habits and material environment. Bring your mind and thoughts to God and obey His Instructions. To gain the realization of your real self and God is the only purpose for which you were given this human body.

You must break free from your bad habits by developing a strong will power to love and serve Lord. He who becomes master of his own mind is a real conqueror. Lord Krishna is free from the three modes of material nature, and actions performed for Him without any selfish motive also become transcendental like Him. Nothing is separate from Lord, everything has a relationship with Him.

Only by performing every work for Him, you can have personal experience of His Infinite Power. Rendering devotional service to Lord Krishna will qualify you for eternal & blissful life. Therefore, perform all your works only for Supreme Lord's pleasure and abandon all attachment to success or failure. Worship Him and glorify Him from your mind, body and words and you will surely achieve all perfection (material and spiritual).

In the service of Lord,

A K Das

"Though engaged in all kinds of activities, My devotee, under My protection, reaches the eternal and imperishable abode by My grace. In all activities just depend upon Me and work always under My protection. In such devotional service, be fully conscious of Me. If you become conscious of Me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditional life by My grace. If, however, you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing Me, you will be lost." (B-Gita 18.56-58)

"Because you are My very dear friend, I am speaking to you the most confidential part of knowledge. Hear this from Me, for it is for your benefit. Always think of Me and become My devotee. Worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend." (B-Gita 18.64-65)

Illegal Bengalis at ISKCON Vrndavana

https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/agra/bangladeshi-youth-with-fake-indian-identity-arrested-from-vrindavan-iskcon-temple/articleshow/66754392.cms?

[PADA: This has happened before in Vrndavana. Also, "Jayapataka's Bengalis" have been sent to various USA temples to keep the programs going. Why? Well they kicked out most of the Westerners, why else? A devotee told us that the Bengali poojaris are his USA temple would go to the doughnut shop after mangala arotike and spend a long time "chatting it up" with the young waitresses at the shop.

Another temple is apparently using Bengalis who are on salary and are "sending part of their salary back to their family." Another Bengali was the temple cook in a US temple, and as soon as he got his green card he moved out of the temple and got a job cooking for a karmi restaurant. Is ISKCON having a harder time finding recruits in India, so they are sneaking in Bengalis? Not sure, who knows, but this is not a good advertising for ISKCON. ys pd]

Origin of the name "Radha"

The name "Rādhā" is derived from the root word ārādhana, which means "worship." CC Adi 4.87: Her worship (ārādhana) consists of fulfilling the desires of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Therefore the Purāṇas call Her Rādhikā. The name "Rādhā" is derived from the root word ārādhana, which means "worship." The personality who excels all in worshiping Kṛṣṇa may therefore be called Rādhikā, the greatest servitor.

New Mexico Temple - The Land of Enchantment

BY: SUKADEVA DAS

Sep 13, 2010 — ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO, My Dear Prabhu's, Please accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!

My name is Sukadeva das and I have been trying to become a humble servant of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami for the last 41 years. Prabhupada always wanted a full-time temple, opened 7 days a week, in New Mexico. There have been temples in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, but there is no permanent full-time temple at present.

By Srila Prabhupada's mercy, I am now preaching full-time in Albuquerque, even though I am living in my car and a motel room. Hare Nama Sankirtan is performed regularly and books are being distributed also. I am giving classes at the University of New Mexico.

I have found a storefront on Nob Hill, which is adjacent to the University. The landlord is agreeable to give me a year's lease provided that I can give him the required move-in costs. I have been in Albuquerque for 4 months and have no regular income to acquire or support the temple. I am humbly requesting and asking anyone who can give assistance for the $3,000 start-up costs, or any donation towards this amount to establish a full-time temple.

There has been good response from students and the general mass of people. A regular temple will give those interested an opportunity to see the Deity, hear Srila Prabhupada's Srimad Bhagawatam and Bhagavad Gita As It Is, and to taste Bhagawat Prasadam. If these activities take place, along with Krishna Kirtan, success for Srila Prabhupada's mission in New Mexico, the land of enchantment, will be fulfilled.

I have informed the landlord that the Lord will help me to acquire this property before he leases it to other competing parties. My 501 (c) 3 status is being sent from Santa Fe, so any donation to complete the transaction on the property, at this time, can be sent to Oliver Johnson, Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87123. Wire transfers from Western Union or Walmart, are quite effective. Any questions can be directed to me at (818) 554-0353. The landlord has given me till the end of the week, Sept.18, 2010, to make a good faith payment.

I have had to sleep in my car and in church parking lots to establish this temple, but I am not in the least discouraged. Many devotees have sent much encouragement for this difficult assignment and I am enlivened without end.

Please help as Prabhupada and Krishna dictates within your heart.
All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga!
Aspiring to be your humble servant,
Sukadeva das

Dire USA Government Report On "Climate Change"

https://nca2018.globalchange.gov/

ISKCON GBC Policy: Guru is Ordinary Conditioned Soul

ML: Well these GBC guru people that they seem to give a lot of attention to chatting it up with women. I just see a spade as a spade. I saw my own diksha guru behave the same way. He ignores me and goes straight past me to my girl friend and her sister to start chatting. Its quite sickening really. They don't even care about much other than keeping their positions over at the institution. Rotten to the core really.

BD: Just because you think someone bypassed you to get to your girlfriend and sister doesn’t mean that’s what really happened in that exact way with ill intent. Did your diksha guru start sending your girlfriend / sister letters, text messages, illicit sexual conversations, stalking? If the answer is “no” then you’re leaning on your own misunderstanding.

LD: Look at Jayapataka, he is being punished in his body severely. And the rest of them are simply awaiting their turn / time is awaiting. That’s a given, they are so extremely offensive to Srila Prabhupada and we see that falling down and suffering, even dying prematurely is common in their group. And what planet are you living on? You have to be joking? Surely, ... You said: "Sex is overrated and that becomes increasingly clear the older you become.” The entire world and all the living entities living in it are working hard day and night for sex.
As Srila Prabhupada has said, even a man in his 90s looks lustily at a young girl and wants to enjoy.

BD: I’m just saying physically and mentally the game changes with time where the body isn’t what it once was and the mind isn’t as feverish for sexual encounter. Lust is lust but to go into a meeting with a Swami and walk away thinking “He’s just trying to talk to my girlfriend.” That just screams insecurity. The entire tone here is accusatory with no facts to back it up.

LD: The Iskcon swamis are mixing and mingling freely with women today, against Srila Prabhupada’s Orders. Which now makes them untrustworthy. I can understand M pr’s concerns and suspicions.

BD: Not all Iskcon swamis are doing this and mixing / mingling. Its not the same as inappropriately groping, touching, meeting and enjoying sexually. It simply is not the same thing, not even close. So the concerns and suspicions are there because those who claim to be concerned or suspicious want it to be. It’s their own doing.

LD: I agree there should be a good balance of KC, most devotees will maintain a balance of sharing nectar Shastra, but along with their concerns / complaints. You have to ask why there are so many complaints about these GBC gurus?

PADA: The GBC says that their "guru parampara from God" contains illicit sex with men, women and children. And now we are splitting hairs, that their gurus are so advanced, they are not having illicit sex with goats? Really, that is the whole basis of the argument that they are preaching nicely? Yes, we have a pile of successors to God who are at least not having sex with goats, aren't we an advanced human culture?

Heh heh heh. Sulochana said the GBC is not advanced enough to worship a bucket of dog manure, because a bucket of dog manure is harmless, it will not orchestrate mass molesting of children and kill the vaishnavas. Yes and a bucket of dog manure will not be having illicit sex with men, women and children, and attacking anyone who objects. Why is the GBC not advanced enough to know that -- Sulochana is right? ys pd

BD: It’s still not what many new devotees deal with currently. Everyone eventually dies off. There’s a new generation waiting.

PADA: The GBC says all along that their guru parampara contains debauchees, and they said that all along, and still do. And thus many "new people" are promoting that parampara? What difference does it make if the people promoting that deviation are "old" or "new"? Same old wine, new bottle, so what? The old people, or new, or newer people are promoting the same old apa-siddhanta that has been preached the whole time since 1978? Why do I care if the persons preaching bogus siddhanta are older or newer, makes no difference whatever. Which devotees are making it clear that the parampara contains no deviations? Can you name these people and / or their group? ys pd

BD: This too shall pass.

PADA: Well everything eventually passes, including the entire universe. Yet it seems you cannot name the specific people and / or group that you are linked to -- that is saying that its a deviation to consider the parampara as containing debauchees and sexual predators? Wrong ideas only pass away when people preach the actual right ideas, and that is simple common sense. ys pd

BD: You seem to think everyone is only looking within Iskcon or even if in Iskcon that they are glorifying illicit sex among gurus.

PADA: I don't know, you so far have not told me what program you are promoting, or what your actual siddhanta is? What guru parampara are you promoting?

BD: I’m not promoting anything other than Krishna consciousness and Srila Prabhupada’s work. I’m not about competition, not about us versus them, no compare and contrast. I have what works for me, the good association and meditation.

PADA: OK so you are not worshiping the GBC's debauchee parampara of gurus, you are worshiping Srila Prabhupada, goody, that is what we are promoting. And we are convincing others to do the same thing. Yes, this is not a competition, its reality, we have to worship the pure devotee if we want to attain Krishna. ys pd

BD: Who is the “We” you speak of? Also just because someone has an Iskcon guru doesn’t mean they support all the missteps of the past and it doesn’t mean those gurus play by GBC rules either. There are gurus within Iskcon that the GBC doesn’t even bother because they know that they’re doing things right and that they know too much to risk offending.

PADA: A guru has to follow GBC rules, or be chastised by the GBC? What kind of guru is that? And just because a person has a guru from the illicit sex with men, women and children guru parampara, does not mean they support it? No, anyone in that parampara, or who supports that parampara, or worships that parampara, is a participant in the process?

"Parampara" means a connected chain of co-equal gurus, so if there is illicit sex with men, women and children in some of the liinks, then all of the links are contaminated because a chain means all the parts are connected? Since illicit sex with men, women and children deviants voted in more people into their parampara, that means they are all implicated. Gurus in the parampara are also not engaged in missteps, that means their parampara has defective conditioned souls in it. ys pd

BD: That’s not how that works. However if that’s the case then if my father cheated on my mom before I was born then that makes me a cheater by bloodline as I’m connected in the same line of succession. Intelligence would suggest that the actions of men are individually based and even further that all humans are imperfect and subject to the modes of material nature.

PADA: A chain of gurus from Krishna, shaksat hari tvena, means they have the same quality as Krishna, and this chain: contains illicit sex and missteps? That would make Krishna defective? "We" are the people who worship Srila Prabhupada and not illicit sex and missteping and defective beings.Yes, humans are imperfect, and that is why we are not supposed to worship imperfect defective beings, because if we worship conditioned souls, we become what we worship and we are also defective. ys pd

BD: Krishna isn’t defective but humans are and as long as humans are around in the material world there will be defects.

PADA: Ok so saying gurus are ordinary is called the mad elephant offense, and -- gurusuh narah matih narakah sah, anyone who says gurus are ordinary humans (narah) are residents of hell. Of course the GBC cannot find ordinary people, they find sexual predators and debauchees to be their gurus. ys pd

BD: I have spoken all I need to speak here. So as to not talk in circles, I bid you farewell on this thread topic. Hare Krishna!

LD: Hare Krishna dear PADA Prabhu, Pranams Dandavats, Agt Srila Prabhupada! Thank you dear pr ji, for exposing and continuing to expose their terrible misdoings, the plotting and the scheming and the past and current revenge tactics of the misfit ISKCON leaders, Gurus and GBC. Without your voice we would all be none the wiser. Agt Srila Prabhupada! Ki Jaiiiiiiiiii

LD: Pranams BD! Agt Srila Prabhupada, Prabhu, these incidents didn’t happen to you. It’s easy to preach, when one is completely aloof from the emotional and physical trauma caused by violent ISKCON members to other devotees. Nothing has changed in Iskcon today, just more leaders, and those involved in past violence, still hold positions of power today .

PADA: Yes, in any case this BD fellow says he follows Srila Prabhupada. Then he says that gurus are ordinary, misstepping, conditioned souls, which is not what Srila Prabhupada teaches. And in fact it is forbidden to preach that concept. Yes, he does not understand the past, nor does he know that what he is saying now is apa-siddhanta even at present.

Yes, the "gurus" who engaged in illicit sex with men, women and children then voted in another wave of gurus, that is not a very bona fide process either. How many people would agree that persons engaged in illicit sex with men, women and children can -- vote for the next wave of God's successors? Yep, he does not get it how -- bad this looks. ys pd

ML: I saw myself what I saw, my guru was overly anxious to chat it up with women. You didn't see that ok, but I've seen enough to know they're not sincere enough, and most of them want adoration esp from women. Cheaters. Ill stick with Srila Prabhupada not worshiping any other

You have fallen into the ocean (Srila Prabhupada)

"...You have to submit to Kṛṣṇa, "Kṛṣṇa, I am in suffering this way. I am fallen in this tossing ocean of material illusion. Kindly save me. I can understand now that I have no identification with this material world. I am simply put here."

Just like -- if I am put into the Atlantic Ocean, I have no identification with the ocean, but I am subjected to the tossing waves of the ocean, similarly, we are spiritual spark, fragmental part of Kṛṣṇa. Some way or other, we are put into this material ocean, and there is tossing. So I am being tossed. Don't identify. Don't try to solve the tossing. That is not possible. If you want to make solution of the tossing waves of the Atlantic Ocean when you are fallen there, it is useless foolishness.

That is not possible. Don't be foolish in that way. That will go on. That is Atlantic Ocean's nature. You cannot stop it. You have to get out of it. The foolish people, they are trying to adjust this world and be happy. That is not... That is a first-class foolishness."

BBT Loyalty vs. High Editing Standards

[PADA: Some devotees have wrote to PADA big complaints that Garuda Das is compromised with the BBT editors because he is friends with them and so on. And so we should not be publishing his materials, because that makes us also compromised. Same type thing happened when we posted a letter from a lady who is a disciple of Tamal, and she is complaining about the changed books.

We should not publish "compromised" people.

OK well she is writing something that has a lot of heart felt message and impact because, others have not done so? Why does she have to defend the original books, i.e. where are the other writers who should have said something like this 35 years ago? At least she has figured out something that simply passed by unnoticed by many others?

And wait a minute, the only reason Garuda Das emerged as a figure in this whole situation is -- that others have not come forward to defend the original books the way he has? Its the same thing with PADA. Some people say we are bad, and we are this, that and the other, but we only emerged as lightening rods in this situation because -- others did not step forward and do these expose programs themselves? Why not make a better expose program?

And its the same thing with the Bangalore program. Some people write to me about how they are doing this thing wrong, and that thing and the other thing, but its the same process; they only emerged as lightening rods because others did not. They may have defects in their program, ok fine, but at least they have a program to comment on?

Why don't the people busy writing these complaints for 35 years do something better themselves? Writing about how bad Garuda Das, PADA and Bangalore are -- produces no tangible alternate program for the past 35 years? Bangalore made a temple here and its wonderful, so -- why not make something nicer and show us by example? Well, we are not going to do that -- of course!

And this was the same problem we had with the Illuminati-anugas. Oh, PADA is a bogus liar, he says we Illuminati-ites are promoting Hitler. No, we are not! Fine except, the foundation principle of many of the Illuminati-ites is that the Jewish bankers are the heads of the Illuminati? So they wrote all sorts of complaints about PADA, but never explained why they are promoting Hitler-anuga-ness in the first place?

If they want to be disciples of Hitler, that is fine, but do not comment on Vaishnava programs if that is their main thesis. In other words, we should not simply sit around and criticize Garuda Das, PADA, Bangalore and others, if we have no intention of making something better. A blind uncle is better than none. ys pd]

BBT Loyalty vs. High Editing Standards

BY: KRISHNA DASA

Jayadvaita Swami and Dravida Prabhu are far more qualified than the average devotee at editing. So it must be frustrating for them to constantly hear criticism from uninformed devotees. They have patiently, over the years, answered many unfair objections. By doing so, they have restored the faith of many devotees in the BBT.

[PADA: Those who think that Krishna's "pure parampara of successors" is filled with common men if not debauchees -- "are more qualified than the average devotee"? OK but any ten year old kid walking down any street in America knows that debauchees are not, were not, could not have been -- God's successors / gurus / acharyas? Why do people keep saying that the promoters of the illicit sex messiahs program are "more qualified" than the average devotee?]

However, there are also many valid objections coming from the more intelligent members of the Gaudiya community. The BBT strategy is to ignore those objections, or to be economical with the truth. This is understandable as it would be detrimental to BBT book sales if the editors admitted that there are many unjustified alterations to Srila Prabhupada's books.

As the saying goes, "In war, truth is the first casualty". As long as the BBT is competing with KBI (who print the original editions of Srila Prabhupada's books) they will spin the truth so as to bolster their image. This is why they are not happy that Garuda PhD is speaking the truth in public. The BBT prefers to keep the devotees in the dark. They only want a confidential discussion with Garuda Prabhu and are upset that his podcasts have been posted on Sampradaya Sun.

Devotees who believe that Srila Prabhupada's books should only be edited to correct grammatical and spelling mistakes, and that the editing should be of the highest standard should hear Garuda Prabhu's criticism. If on the other hand, one feels loyalty to the BBT then one must settle for second class editing.

The solution to this problem is for the BBT to open up and frankly admit their mistakes. They should trust in Krsna. Their strategy of glossing over mistakes for the sake of protecting books sales is displeasing to intelligent devotees who can see their limitations.

The BBT trustees do not trust anyone else to correct their mistakes and they don't feel that it is either necessary or practical to undergo the big project of undoing the many unnecessary book changes. How sad. We did not ask them to be the via medium to understanding Srila Prabhupada's books. What happened to transparency?

One wonders if they secretly know that they are wrong to "clarify" Srila Prabhupada's words and are simply defending themselves, or whether they genuinely think they have the right to edit Srila Prabhupada's words in order to bring Srila Prabhupada in line with his over all message.

In the long term, the decision to hide from the truth and block attempts to refine the editing process may damage the BBT. The devotee community is more and more waking up to the truth. Would it not be better for sales and more pleasing to Srila Prabhupada if they improve their product?

[PADA: Yes, the BBT editors think that God's successors are often debauchees and so naturally they will want to edit the books to try to twist the meanings of the books into agreeing with their ideas. In any event, we are gaining more and more favorable people all the time, thus it looks like more people are accepting our view in any case. ys pd ]

Editing of the Founder-Acharya's Scriptures (from Alachua Florida)

[PADA: Yep, when we first came out with our complaints about the BBT book changes in our early publications the 1980s, even a number of our God brothers said we were "making offenses to the GBC, to their gurus, and to the authorized representatives of Krishna" etc. Fast forward to today, and not only many God brothers but also many followers of GBC's gurus, Narayan Maharaja folks, and many others are saying -- wait a minute, do we really want to have the books edited?

Then again, when the editor in question (Jayadvaita swami) says in ISKCON their gurus are maybe falling into illicit sex with men, women and children, you need to ask yourself why that person is even allowed to enter ISKCON property much less be selected as the editor? Apparently in Alachua Florida ISKCON leadership, as soon as a person says God's successors are out there having illicit sex with men, women and children, they fall off their seats and lick that person's shoes.

Did we forget to mention Jayadvaita says the ritviks (anyone who worships Srila Prabhupada and not his illicit sex debauchee's guru lineages) are not going back to Godhead. Wow, only by worship of illicit sex with men, women and children guru lineages does a person go to God? And this is the guy they want to edit all the books? Why is Alachua ISKCON promoting this process? ys pd]

Editing of the Founder-Acharya's Scriptures

BY: HLADINI SAKTI DEVI DASI (ALACHUA, FLORIDA)

I wanted to share my realizations regarding the editing of our Founder-Acharya's Scriptures. For too long I accepted the official policy and rationale for the edits. Only this year, did I research the edits for myself. At the end of a nine day sojourn, I came to the realization that the Lord, Himself, has arranged this transcendental controversy in order to increase our love for Srila Prabhupada.

I've been a devotee long enough to know that offenses can destroy my spiritual life. I applaud the Sampradaya Sun for maintaining a semblance of Vaisnava etiquette. My prayer is that Srila Prabhupada uses what ever skills I've acquired in his service. I pray I may be of some small assistance in re-establishing His Divine Grace's original scriptures in his founded temples and all other temples that bear the proud name of ISKCON.

About 6 or 7 months ago I was encouraged by Damodara Swami (f/k/a Prabhupada das) to read the book changes side by side. So I did. It was a nine day journey, and I cried each and every day for nine days. As described in my offering to Srila Prabhupada on his Disappearance Day, which is submitted below, I went through a myriad of emotions. I pretty much stopped work, ate little, and slept less. I was heart broken. During those nine days, I also read Arsha Prayoga once, and then re-read much of the book again. On the ninth day, I ran across this comparison to His Divine Grace's purport in Bg. 12.2:

"For one in such Krsna consciousness there are no material activities because everything is done by Krsna."

As compared to the edited version:

"For one in such Krsna consciousness there are no material activities, because everything is done for Krsna."

Just one word changed and viola, you've got Mayavadi Philosophy. I became so angry; I started railing at the four walls, "THIS IS MAYAVADI PHILOSOPHY! PRABHUPADA CAME TO DESTROY MAYAVADI PHILOSOPHY! BECOMING A DEVOTEE DOESN'T MAKE US THE DOER! EVEN PRABHUPADA TOLD US, HE WAS NOT THE DOER! KRSNA IS THE DOER!

In that moment Krsna spoke to me from the heart: "The editors are not the doers either." It's amazing how easy it is to become covered over by the illusory energy. Hence my realization that the Lord, Himself, has created this Transcendental Controversy to increase our love for Srila Prabhupada. Since taking the suggestion of Damodara Swami to compare the '72 Gita to the edited version, I have once again, after many years of drought, dove into the sparkling, celestial waters of His Divine Grace's Scriptures. Thank you Damodara Swami Maharaja from the bottom of my heart!

This controversy is an excellent preaching platform in the West. Every Westerner will resonate with disdain, anger and irritation to hear the Hare Krsna Scriptures have been changed. They will feel anger and indignation to learn how the BBT was sued by Srila Prabhupada's disciples just for the right to print his Divine Grace's Scriptures - after more than a decade of being out of print. They will immediately come to Srila Prabhupada's defense when they learn the BBT proffered the losing argument in Court that Srila Prabhupada was merely a hired author and the BBT commissioned the writing of these books!

Westerner's know all about Scriptural changes.

Another realization I have about this controversy is that, for me, I never had any other scriptures to compare Srila Prabhupada's Scriptures to. Reading and comparing Srila Prabhupada's Gita to the edited version starkly showcased His Divine Grace's rich and textured prose. The Song of God is poetry personified, and Srila Prabhupada did not disappoint. Some of His Divine Grace's verses read like silk, satin, and brocade. When compared against each other, Srila Prabhupada's prose is Divinely Exquisite while the edited prose, at times, comes out garbled like marbles in the mouth.

I wept bitterly at the loss of Srila Prabhupada's poetry.

For my own spiritual protection, I view the edited books as an effort to serve Srila Prabhupada and ultimately as Krsna's arrangement. These edited books glorify the Lord, and Srila Prabhupada's influence is still keenly felt; however, where the authorities did not follow mundane, material, ethical publishing standards, in the eyes of Academia, the edited books are a flim-flam job. Essentially, His Divine Grace's Scriptures have been literally edited out of the Academic Community!

This is unacceptable.

In an effort to bring this fact to the attention of the ISKCON authorities, Garuda Prabhu is hosting a conference of scholars to publish their thesis' on the pressing issue: posthumous editing of His Divine Grace's scriptures. A Go-Fund-Me has been established for this purpose, if you can donate to this cause, please do so.

Finally, I am submitting my offering to Srila Prabhupada for publication on the Sampradaya Sun. On His Divine Grace's Disappearance Day, my offering was interrupted and I was stopped by the temple president in Alachua from reading my offering because I was speaking about these changes.

All Glories to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada!

Your servant,

Hladini Sakti devi dasi

========================

Dearest Srila Prabhupada,

Please accept my humble obeisances! All Glories to your Divine Appearance, all Glories to your Divine Service and all Glories to your Divine Passing!

I offer my humble obeisances to my dear brother, Karuna Sindhu Das, by who's mercy I was introduced to your International Society for Krsna Conscienceness, by who's mercy your Divine Books made their way into my home, and by who's mercy I was introduced to my dear spiritual master.

I offer my humble obeisance to my ever well wisher and beloved spiritual master, His Grace Tamal Krsna Goswami, who so expertly engaged me in devotional service and who expertly plucked me out of the vast ocean of ignorance and misery.

I offer my humble obeisances to my good husband, Vaisnavananda Prabhu, by who's mercy I am immersed in Srila Prabhupada's wonderful scriptures and by who's association I am able to serve many senior and exalted devotees.

I offer my humble obeisances to all the devotees assembled here for the purpose of glorifying the most munificent benefactor of Bhakti, His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada!

Srila Prabhupada, I offer my humble obeisances to your Divine Ecstacy, the Crown Jewel of Bhakti, the core lawbook of the three worlds for the next 10,000 years, your Divinely Flawless 1972 Bhagavad Gita As It Is.

About 22 years ago, I questioned the changes to your books and was told that the changes would make your books shine brighter in the Academic world, that now your books would be spotless.

Srila Prabhupada, please forgive me. For 22 years I slept walked under the illusion that your books had some flaws. For 22 years, I had forgotten that your books were already embraced by the Academic community. For 22 years, I had forgotten all the big, big endorsements from important professors hailing from important academic institutions. For 22 years, I forgot that your books were already being used in University class rooms across the country, all while you walked the planet.

Srila Prabhupada, I'm sorry I forgot.

Please forgive this forgetful, sleeping fool that sits before you today.

Please forgive me, Srila Prabhupada. You told us that you did not write these books. You told us that Krsna personally dictated these books to you. You told us you were Krsna's intimate cowherd friend. You told us Krsna had to bribe you to come to the material world. Why did you come to the material world? Why did Krsna have to bribe you?

To write these books.

Did I not believe Krsna whispered the Bhagavad Gita As It Is into your ear?

Srila Prabhupada, Please forgive this faithless fool sitting before you today.

Srila Prabhupada, even though I am well read, well educated, and proud of my academic achievements, still I fell under the spell of illusion and was misled. I have read 1,000 bookds in my life time. I know that when a book is edited, the Editors' names are printed on the book. I know that a well edited book has footnotes and other notations regarding the edits. I have read enough books to know that post humus editing is not practiced. I know the edited version of your books do not conform to mundane material ethical publishing standards. Yet I accepted the disengenuous excuse of improving your books for the academic community as if I was an uneducated village girl.

Please Srila Prabhupada, forgive this misled and ignorant fool that sits before you today.

Srila Prabhupada, spurred on by Divine intervention and on of your dear disciples, after 22 years, I studied the book changes side by side for more than 70 hours. I studied the carefully crafted book, Arsa Prayoga and learned the spiritual principals of respecting and honoring the Acharya's written words.

It is hard to describe the myriad emotions I experienced while studying your Divine Crown Jewel, the Bhagavad Gita As It Is side by side with the edited version. I experienced shock, alarm, indignation, disbelief, and irritation. Sometimes I would be stunned and become bewildered, and sometimes I would laugh out loud like a madman.

Please Srila Prabhupada, forgive this laughing mad fool that sits before you today.

While studying and comparing your Gita to the edited version, the main emotion I felt was a deep sorrow and loss for the beauty and potency of the '72 Gita. Yes, I experienced a myriad of emotions, but mostly I cried. I cried and cried; for nine days I cried.

Why did I cry? Becuase your glorious prose and excellent poetry had been butchered or stolen and hyjacked away.

Why did I cry? Because a secret sruti, a key that unlocks the heart to revealed scriptures has been lost with the edits

Why did I cry? Because of the all too numerous, un-necessary and frivolous changes substituing your beautiful words.

Why did I cry? Because now your books are tainted with Mayavadi Philosophy. The very philosophy you especially came to destroy.

Srila Prabhupada, Please forgive this crying fool that sits before you today.

Srila Prabhupada, As I sit here revealing my heart and mind in front of the assembly of Vaisnavas, I am trembling like a leaf. I am fearful because there is a terrible pressure applied to those speak out against the editing of your scriptures. Devotees who wish to discuss and debate these book changes are subject to banishment, threatened with sanctions, followed around, spied on and chastised. I have remained silent out of fear of censorship. I have remained silent out of fear of chastisement.

Dear Srila Prabhupada, please forgive this silent and cowardly fool who sits before you today.

Twice a year the devotees gather to glorify your super human deeds. Twice a year the devotees praise and glorify your astounding achievement of writing the Law Books for mankind that will stand for the next 10,000 years.

Yet all the devotees know your books have been changed. How can the written law books be changed?

Only by a higher court!

I work as an attorney and when the circuit court makes a mistake, it's appealed to the district court of appeal, from there it is appealed to the State Supreme Court, from there it is appealed to the Federal District Court and from there it is appealed to the highest court in the land, the United States Supreme Court.

Srila Prabhupada, by your mercy, this world has received the greatest fortune. You have gifted the world the top most, absolute highest knowledge for escaping the vicious cycle of birth and death.

Who is a higher authority than your Divine Grace? What higher authority can your written words be appealed to? What lunacy is this?

As for me, Srila Prabhupada, I consider you the highest authority of revealed scripture in all the three worlds. One of your many remarkable qualities is that you never misled us. When you say Lord Krsna dictated these books to you, I know that I can take that to the bank!

On this Auspicious Day of your Disappearance, I sit before you a begging fool, begging for a particle of dust from your Lotus Feet to land on my head. .

Your foolish granddaugther,

[PADA: Yep, how can these people claim to be diksha gurus who can take people back to Godhead when they have so many anarthas? They think they can absorb sins like Jesus is doing? Really? The good news is: more people are seeing through this foolishness. ys pd]

DEVOTTHANA EKADASHI

DEVOTTHANA EKADASHI

Today is the 11th day of the waxing Moon of the month of Kartika or Damodara shukla ekadashi. This is Devotthana Ekadashi or Prabhodini Ekadashi when Lord Vishnu awakens. Since the Lord is now arising, He can see weddings and participate in yagnas. Hence the wedding season begins once again. Of course the Lord's sleeping is also in full consciousness.
Shrila Prabhupada discusses the Supreme Lord's slumber or yoga-nidra in his Shri Bhaktivedanta Purport to Shrimad-Bhagavatam 1.16.26-30:
"This material world is a product of the mahat-tattva, which is a state of the Lord's dreaming condition in His yoga-nidrā mystic slumber in the Causal Ocean, and yet the whole creation appears to be a factual presentation of His creation. This means that the Lord's dreaming conditions are also factual manifestations. He can therefore bring everything under His transcendental control, and thus whenever and wherever He does appear, He does so in His fullness."

And the Catholics are paralyzed because, then they would have to attack their own top tier leaders as deviants and not saints as well? ys pd]

Purujit's Bliss Editing Opposition Defeated?

THE BLISS EDITING PROJECT OPPOSITION DEFEATED

A lively debate over whether Srila Prabhupada’s books should be free from unauthorized changes or not:

https://www.inbliss.org/home/the-bliss-book-editing-project-opposition-represented-by-vidura-mahatma-dasa-defeated

[PADA: Its amazing to us how some people say they "defeated" other people, when clearly they have not. Just about everyone outside the Purujt BLISS project has told us they will never order the Purujit edited book, because they think he is doing the same thing Jayadvaita is doing -- unauthorizedly editing / re-writing the books of Srila Prabhupada.

Oddly, both Purujit and Jayadvaita claim they are "going back to the manuscripts." Well this was never authorized for starters. In any case, apart from the BLISS group folks, pretty much everyone else says they are going to boycott Purujit's editing and never touch his books. And they are also going to boycott the BLISS program if they want to follow in the footsteps of Jayadvaita and re-write the books.

And their bogus books in fact burnt out a bunch of their former supporters, who now feel they wasted time, energy and money supporting these people in the first place. In fact one of their ex-followers said they cheated us by not telling us they were re-writing the books and then they sprung it out on us all of a sudden, after three years of secretly editing in the back room, which is how the GBC operates. Secret meetings, secret editing, and so on.

Krishna Kanta also says he defeated PADA over: -- the KBI changed books lawsuit issue, the molesting issue, the poison issue and others issues. Well not really? More people are accepting that we are correct on these issues all the time.

Sorry, Vidura dasa was not defeated at all, and thus almost all PADA readers say he did an excellent job defeating Jayadvaita's new editing partner -- Purujit dasa, because the same arguments used to defeat Jayadvaita will also defeat Purujit -- and any other editing wanna-bes. Purujit is not authorized to re-write the books of the acharya anymore than Jayadvaita is. They are both defeated because for starters, we established the original books as authorized a long time ago and they have a major uphill battle trying to change that process.

And therefore most folks concluded a log time ago, Vidura dasa did a good job of taking them to task on this issue. As BLISS writer Makhancora says, silence means defeat. We have not heard one peep out of the BLISS people since we posted Vidura's counterpoints. That means by their own account, they admitted defeat. Its the sound of crickets when Vidura dasa challenged these people, heh heh heh. ys pd]

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 7: Lord Caitanya in Five Features : Adi 7.22 : PURPORT :People generally cannot understand the actual meaning of chanting and dancing. Describing the Gosvāmīs, Śrī Śrīnivāsa Ācāryastated, kṛṣṇotkīrtana-gāna-nartana-parau: not only did Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His associates demonstrate this chanting and dancing, but the six Gosvamis also followed in the next generation. The present Krsna consciousness movement follows the same principle, and therefore simply by chanting and dancing we have received good responses all over the world. It is to be understood, however, that this chanting and dancing do not belong to this material world. They are actually transcendental activities, for the more one engages in chanting and dancing, the more he can taste the nectar of transcendental love of Godhead

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 10: The Trunk, Branches and Sub branches of the Caitanya Tree : Adi 10.85 : PURPORT :In the Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika, verse 195, it is said that Srila Jiva Gosvami was formerly Vilasa-manjari gopi. From his very childhood Jiva Gosvami was greatly fond of Srimad-Bhagavatam. He later came to Navadvipa to study Sanskrit, and, following in the footsteps of Sri Nityananda Prabhu, he circumambulated the entire Navadvipa-dhama. After visiting Navadvipa-dhama he went to Benares to study Sanskrit under Madhusudana Vacaspati, and after finishing his studies in Benares he went to Vrndavana and took shelter of his uncles, Sri Rupa and Sanatana. This is described in the Bhakti-ratnakara. As far as our information goes, Srila Jiva Gosvami composed and edited at least twenty-five books. They are all very celebrated, and they are listed as follows: (1) Hari-namamrta-vyakarana, (2) Sutra-malika, (3) Dhatu-sangraha, (4) Krsnarca-dipika, (5) Gopala-virudavali, (6) Rasamṛta-sesa, (7) Sri Madhava-mahotsava, (8) Sri Sankalpa-kalpavrkṣa, (9) Bhavartha-sucaka-campu, (10) Gopala-tapani-tika, (11) a commentary on the Brahma-samhita, (12) a commentary on the Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu, (13) a commentary on the Ujjvala-nilamani, (14) a commentary on the Yogasara-stava, (15) a commentary on the Gayatri-mantra, as described in the Agni Purāṇa, (16) a description of the Lord's lotus feet derived from the Padma Purana, (17) a description of the lotus feet of Srimati Radharani, (18) Gopala-campu (in two parts) and (19-25) seven sandarbhas: the Krama-, Tattva-, Bhagavat-, Paramātma-, Krsna-, Bhakti- and Priti-sandarbha.

After the disappearance of Srila Rūpa Gosvami and Sanatana Gosvami in Vrndavana, Srila Jiva Gosvami became the acarya of all the Vaisnavas in Bengal, Orissa and the rest of the world, and it is he who used to guide them in their devotional service. In Vṛndavana he established the Radha-Dāmodara temple, where we had the opportunity to live and retire until the age of sixty-five, when we decided to come to the United States of America. When Jiva Gosvami was still present, Srila Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami compiled his famous Caitanya-caritamrta. Later, Srila Jiva Gosvami inspired Srinivasa Acarya, Narottama dasa Thakura and Duhkhi Krsnadasa to preach Krsna consciousness in Bengal. Jiva Gosvami was informed that all the manuscripts that had been collected from Vrndavana and sent to Bengal for preaching purposes were plundered near Visnupura, in Bengal, but later he received the information that the books had been recovered. Sri Jiva Gosvami awarded the designation Kaviraja to Ramacandra Sena, a disciple of Srinivasa Acarya's, and to Ramacandra's younger brother Govinda. While Jiva Gosvami was alive, Srimati Jahnavī-devi, the pleasure potency of Sri Nityananda Prabhu, went to Vṛndavana with a few devotees. Jiva Gosvamī was very kind to the Gaudiya Vaisnavas, the Vaisnavas from Bengal. Whoever went to Vrndavana he provided with a residence and prasada. His disciple Krsnadasa Adhikari listed all the books of the Gosvamis in his diary.

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 10: The Trunk, Branches and Subbranches of the Caitanya Tree : Adi 10.91 : PURPORT :The forefathers of Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī were all Vaiṣṇavas and were very rich men. His spiritual master at home was Yadunandana Ācārya. Although Raghunātha dāsa was a family man, he had no attachment for his estate and wife. Seeing his tendency to leave home, his father and uncle engaged special bodyguards to watch over him, but nevertheless he managed to escape their vigilance and went away to Jagannātha Purī to meet Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. This incident took place in the year 1439 śakābda(A.D. 1518). Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī compiled three books, named Stava-mālā (or Stavāvalī), Dāna-carita and Muktācarita. He lived a long time. For most of his life he resided at Rādhā-kuṇḍa. The place where Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī performed his devotional service still exists by Rādhā-kuṇḍa.

He almost completely gave up eating, and therefore he was very skinny and of weak health. His only concern was to chant the holy name of the Lord. He gradually reduced his sleeping until he was almost not sleeping at all. It is said that his eyes were always full of tears. When Śrīnivāsa Ācārya went to see Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī, the Gosvāmī blessed him by embracing him. Śrīnivāsa Ācārya requested his blessings for preaching in Bengal, and Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī granted them. In the Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā (186) it is stated that Śrīla Raghunātha dāsa Gosvāmī was formerly the gopīnamed Rasa-mañjarī. Sometimes it is said that he was Rati-mañjarī.

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 10: The Trunk, Branches and Subbranches of the Caitanya Tree : Adi 10.105 : PURPORT :When Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī took permission from all the Vaiṣṇavas before writing Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Gopāla Bhaṭṭa Gosvāmī also gave him his blessings, but he requested him not to mention his name in the book. Therefore Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī has mentioned Gopāla Bhaṭṭa Gosvāmī only very cautiously in one or two passages of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta. Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī has written in the beginning of his Tattva-sandarbha, "A devotee from southern India who was born of a brāhmaṇa family and was a very intimate friend of Rūpa Gosvāmī and Sanātana Gosvāmī has written a book that he has not compiled chronologically.

Therefore I, a tiny living entity known as jīva, am trying to assort the events of the book chronologically, consulting the direction of great personalities like Madhvācārya, Śrīdhara Svāmī, Rāmānujācārya and other senior Vaiṣṇavas in the disciplic succession." In the beginning of the Bhagavat-sandarbha there are similar statements by Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī. Śrīla Gopāla Bhaṭṭa Gosvāmī compiled a book called Sat-kriyā-sāra-dīpikā, edited the Hari-bhakti-vilāsa, wrote a forword to the Ṣaṭ-sandarbha and a commentary on the Kṛṣṇa-karṇāmṛta, and installed the Rādhāramaṇa Deity in Vṛndāvana. In the Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā, verse 184, it is mentioned that his previous name in the pastimes of Lord Kṛṣṇa was Anaṅga-mañjarī. Sometimes he is also said to have been an incarnation of Guṇa-mañjarī. Śrīnivāsa Ācārya and Gopīnātha Pūjārī were two of his disciples.

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 11: The Expansions of Lord Nityananda : Adi 11.13 : PURPORT :Ten miles southwest of the Cāṅpāḍāṅgā railway station on the narrow-gauge railway line from Howrah, in Calcutta, to Āmtā, a village in the Hugalī district, is a small town named Khānākūla-kṛṣṇanagara, where the temple of Abhirāma Ṭhākura is situated. During the rainy season, when this area is inundated with water, people must go there by another line, which is now called the southeastern railway.

On this line there is a station named Kolāghāṭa, from which one has to go by steamer to Rāṇīcaka. Seven and a half miles north of Rāṇīcaka is Khānākūla. The temple of Abhirāma Ṭhākura is situated in Kṛṣṇanagara, which is near the kūla (bank) of the Khānā (Dvārakeśvara River); therefore this place is celebrated as Khānākūla-kṛṣṇanagara. Outside of the temple is a bakula tree. This place is known as Siddha-bakula-kuñja. It is said that when Abhirāma Ṭhākura came there, he sat down under this tree. In Khānākūla-kṛṣṇanagara there is a big fair held every year in the month of Caitra (March-April) on the Kṛṣṇa-saptamī, the seventh day of the dark moon.

Many hundreds and thousands of people gather for this festival. The temple of Abhirāma Ṭhākura has a very old history. The Deity in the temple is known as Gopīnātha. There are many sevaita families living near the temple. It is said that Abhirāma Ṭhākura had a whip and that whoever he touched with it would immediately become an elevated devotee of Kṛṣṇa. Among his many disciples, Śrīmān Śrīnivāsa Ācārya was the most famous and the most dear, but it is doubtful that he was his initiated disciple.

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 11: The Expansions of Lord Nityananda : Adi 11.51 : PURPORT :Śrī Rāmacandra Kavirāja, the son of Khaṇḍavāsī Cirañjīva and Sunanda, was a disciple of Śrīnivāsa Ācārya and the most intimate friend of Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, who prayed several times for his association. His youngest brother was Govinda Kavirāja. Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī very much appreciated Śrī Rāmacandra Kavirāja's great devotion to Lord Kṛṣṇa and therefore gave him the title Kavirāja. Śrī Rāmacandra Kavirāja, who was perpetually disinterested in family life, greatly assisted in the preaching work of Śrīnivāsa Ācārya and Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura. He resided at first in Śrīkhaṇḍa but later in the village of Kumāra-nagara on the bank of the Ganges.

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 11: The Expansions of Lord Nityananda : Adi 11.51 : PURPORT :Govinda Kavirāja was the brother of Rāmacandra Kavirāja and youngest son of Cirañjīva of Śrīkhaṇḍa. Although at first a śākta, or worshiper of Goddess Durgā, he was later initiated by Śrīnivāsa Ācārya Prabhu. Govinda Kavirāja also resided first in Śrīkhaṇḍa and then in Kumāra-nagara, but later he moved to the village known as Teliyā Budhari, on the southern bank of the river Padmā. Since Govinda Kavirāja, the author of two books, Saṅgīta-mādhava and Gītāmṛta, was a great Vaiṣṇava kavi, or poet, Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī gave him the title Kavirāja. He is described in the Bhakti-ratnākara (Ninth Wave).

Sri Dhananjaya pandita

nityānanda-priyabhṛtya paṇḍita dhanañjaya
atyanta virakta, sadā kṛṣṇa-premamaya

The sixteenth dear servant of Nityānanda Prabhu was Dhanañjaya Paṇḍita. He was very much renounced and always merged in love of Kṛṣṇa.

Purport

Paṇḍita Dhanañjaya was a resident of the village in Katwa named Śītala. He was one of the twelve gopālas. His former name, according to Gaura-gaṇoddeśa-dīpikā, verse 127, was Vasudāma. Śītala-grāma is situated near the Maṅgalakoṭa police station and Kaicara post office in the district of Burdwan. On the narrow railway from Burdwan to Katwa is a railway station about nine miles from Kutwa known as Kaicara. One has to go about a mile northeast of this station to reach Śītala. The temple was a thatched house with walls made of dirt. Some time ago, the Zamindars of Bājāravana Kābāśī, the Mulliks, constructed a big house for the purpose of a temple, but for the last sixty-five years the temple has been broken down and abandoned. The foundation of the old temple is still visible. There is a tulasī pillar near the temple, and every year during the month of January the disappearance day of Dhanañjaya is observed. It is said that for some time Paṇḍita Dhanañjaya was in a saṅkīrtana party under the direction of Śrī CaitanyaMahāprabhu, and then he went to Vṛndāvana. Before going to Vṛndāvana, he lived for some time in a village named Sāṅcaḍāpāṅcaḍā, which is six miles south of the Memārī railway station. Sometimes this village is also known as "the place of Dhanañjaya" (Dhanañjayera Pāṭa). After some time, he left the responsibility for worship with a disciple and went back to Vṛndāvana. After returning from Vṛndāvana to Śītala-grāma, he established a Deity of Gaurasundara in the temple. The descendants of PaṇḍitaDhanañjaya still live in Śītala-grāma and look after the temple worship.Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Sri Gadadhara dasa

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Introduction :In the beginning of the Caitanya-caritāmṛta, Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī writes, "I offer my respects to my spiritual masters." He uses the plural here to indicate the disciplic succession. It is not that he offers obeisances to his spiritual master alone but to the whole paramparā, the chain of disciplic succession beginning with Lord Kṛṣṇa Himself. Thus the guru is addressed in the plural to show the author's highest respect for all the Vaiṣṇavas. After offering obeisances to the disciplic succession, the author pays obeisances to all other devotees, Godbrothers, the expansions of Godhead and the first manifestation of Kṛṣṇa's energy. Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu (sometimes called Kṛṣṇa Caitanya) is the embodiment of all of these; He is God, guru, devotee and the expansion of God. As His associate Nityānanda, He is the first manifestation of energy; as Advaita, He is an incarnation; as Gadādhara, He is the internal potency; and as Śrīvāsa, He is the marginal living entity. Thus Kṛṣṇa should not be thought of as being alone but should be considered as eternally existing with all His manifestations, as described by Rāmānujācārya. In the Viśiṣṭādvaita philosophy, God's energies, expansions and incarnations are considered to be oneness in diversity. In other words, God is not separate from all of these; everything together is God.

Books : Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Introduction :Thus Kṛṣṇadāsa Kavirāja Gosvāmī discusses Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu as Śrī Kṛṣṇa Himself, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and Lord Nityānanda as Balarāma, the first expansion of Kṛṣṇa. Advaitācārya, another principal disciple of Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu's, is accepted as an expansion of Mahā-Viṣṇu. Thus Advaitācārya is also the Lord, or, more precisely, an expansion of the Lord. The word advaita means "nondual," and His name is such because He is nondifferent from the Supreme Lord. He is also called ācārya, teacher, because He disseminated Kṛṣṇa consciousness. In this way He is just like Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Although Lord Caitanya is Śrī Kṛṣṇa Himself, He appeared as a devotee to teach people in general how to love Kṛṣṇa. Similarly, Advaitācārya appeared just to distribute the knowledge of Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Thus He is also the Lord incarnated as a devotee. In the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, Kṛṣṇa is manifested in five different features, and He and His associates appear as devotees of the Supreme Lord in the form of Śrī Kṛṣṇa Caitanya, Lord Nityānanda, Advaitācārya, Śrī Gadādhara, and Śrī Śrīvāsa. In all cases, Caitanya Mahāprabhu is the source of energy for all His devotees. Since this is the case, if we take shelter of Caitanya Mahāprabhu for the successful execution of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, we are sure to make progress. One devotional song by Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura states, "My dear Lord Caitanya, please have mercy upon me. There is no one who is as merciful as You. My plea is most urgent because Your mission is to deliver fallen souls, and no one is more fallen than I. I beg priority."

Īśāvatārakān refers to ācāryas like Advaita Prabhu, who is an avatāra of the Lord. Tat-prakāśānindicates the direct manifestation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Nityānanda Prabhu, and the initiating spiritual master. Tac-chaktīḥ refers to the spiritual energies (śaktis) of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Gadādhara, Dāmodara and Jagadānanda belong to this category of internal energy.

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the internal potencies of the Lord, of whom Śrī Gadādhara Prabhu is the foremost.

His body is always decorated with ornaments of sandalwood and with sandalwood paste. By His superexcellent beauty He subdues all the people of the age. In other descents the Lord sometimes used weapons to defeat the demoniac, but in this age the Lord subdues them with His all-attractive figure as Caitanya Mahāprabhu. Śrīla Jīva Gosvāmī explains that His beauty is His astra, or weapon, to subdue the demons. Because He is all-attractive, it is to be understood that all the demigods lived with Him as His companions. His acts were uncommon and His associates wonderful. When He propagated the saṅkīrtana movement, He attracted many great scholars and ācāryas, especially in Bengal and Orissa. Lord Caitanya is always accompanied by His best associates like Lord Nityānanda, Advaita, Gadādhara and Śrīvāsa.

Sri Caitanya-caritamrta - 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 7: Lord Caitanya in Five Features : Adi 7.4 : PURPORT : krsna-varnam tvisakrsnam sangopangastra-parsadam yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi su-medhasah :
"In the Age of Kali, people who are endowed with sufficient intelligence will worship the Lord, who is accompanied by His associates, by performance of saṅkīrtana-yajña." (Bhāg. 11.5.32) Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is always accompanied by His plenary expansion Śrī Nityānanda Prabhu, His incarnation Śrī Advaita Prabhu, His internal potency Śrī Gadādhara Prabhu and His marginal potency Śrīvāsa Prabhu. He is in the midst of them as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One should know that Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is always accompanied by these other tattvas. Therefore our obeisances to Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu are complete when we say śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya prabhu -ityānanda śrī-advaita gadādhara śrīvāsādi-gaura-bhakta-vṛnda. As preachers of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement, we first offer our obeisances to Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu by chanting this Pañca-tattva mantra; then we say Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare. There are ten offenses in the chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra, but these are not considered in the chanting of the Pañca-tattva mantra, namely, śrī-kṛṣṇa-caitanya prabhu-nityānanda śrī-advaita gadādhara śrīvāsādi-gaura-bhakta-vṛnda. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu is known as mahā-vadānyāvatāra, the most magnanimous incarnation, for He does not consider the offenses of the fallen souls. Thus to derive the full benefit of the chanting of the mahā-mantra (Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare), we must first take shelter of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, learn the Pañca-tattva mahā-mantra, and then chant the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra. That will be very effective.
