Putrada Ekadasi 31 December

PUTRADA EKADASI (Pausha-Shukla Ekadasi)
1ST JANUARY 2015 THURSDAY - INDIA
Break fast: 06:42 to 08:32 (Mumbai)

Putrada Ekadasi (Pausha-Shukla Ekadasi)

The pious and saintly Yudhisthira Maharaj said, "Oh Lord, You have so nicely explained to us the wonderful glories of the Saphala Ekadasi, which occurs during the dark fortnight (Krishna paksha) of the month of Pausha (December – January). Now please be merciful to me and explain to me the details of the Ekadasi that occurs in the light fortnight (Shukla or Gaura paksha) of this month. What is its name, and what Deity is to be worshiped on that sacred day? Oh Purushottama, Oh Hrishikesha, please also tell me how You can be pleased on this day"?

Lord Sri Krishna then replied, "Oh saintly king, for the benefit of all humanity I shall now tell you how to observe fasting on the Pausha-Shukla Ekadasi. As previously explained, everyone should observe the rules and regulations of the Ekadasi vrata, to the very best of their ability. This injunction also applies to the Ekadasi named Putrada, which destroys all sins and elevates one to the spiritual abode.

The Supreme Personality of Godhead Shri Narayana, the original Personality, is the worshipable Deity of the Ekadasi, and for His faithful devotees He happily fulfills all desires and awards full perfection. Thus among all the animate and inanimate beings in the three worlds (lower, middle and higher planetary systems), there is no better Personality than Lord Narayana. "Oh King, now I shall narrate to you the history of Putrada Ekadasi, which removes all kinds of sins and makes one famous and learned.

There was once a kingdom named Bhadraavati, which was ruled by King Suketumaan. His queen was the famous Shaibyaa. Because he had no son, he spent a long time in anxiety, thinking, ‘If I have no son, who will carry on my dynasty"?

In this way the king meditated in a religious attitude for a very long time, thinking, ‘Where should I go? What should I do? How can I get a pious son (putra)? In this way King Suketumaan could find no happiness any where in his kingdom, even in his own palace, and soon he was spending more and more time inside his wife’s palace, gloomily thinking only of how he could get a son.

Thus both King Suketumaan and Queen Shaibyaa were in great distress. Even when they offered tarpana (oblations of water to their forefathers), their mutual misery made them think that it was as undrinkable as boiling water. They thus thought that they would have no descendants to offer tarpana to them when they died and thus become lost souls (ghosts).

The king and queen were especially upset to learn that their forefathers were worried that soon there would be no one to offer them tarpana also. After learning of their forefather’s unhappiness, the king and queen became more and more miserable, and neither ministers, nor friends, nor even loved ones could cheer them up. To the king, his elephants and horses and infantry were no solace, and at last he became practically inert and helpless.

The king thought to himself, "It is said that without a son, marriage is wasted. Indeed, for a family man with no son, both his heart and his splendid house remain vacant and miserable. Bereft of a son, a man cannot liquidate the debts that he owes his forefathers, the demigods (devas) and to other human beings. Therefore every married man should endeavor to beget a son; thus he will become famous within this world and at last attain the auspicious celestial realms.

"A son is proof of the pious activities a man performed in his past one hundred lifetimes, and such a person achieves a long duration of life in this world, along with good health and great wealth. Possessing sons and grandsons in this lifetime proves that one has worshiped Lord Vishnu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, in the past. The great blessing of sons, wealth, and sharp intelligence can be achieved only by worshiping the Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna. That is my opinion.

Thinking thus, the king had no peace. He remained in anxiety day and night, from morning to evening, and from the time he lay down to sleep at night until the sun rose in the morning, his dreams were equally full of great anxiety. Suffering such constant anxiety and apprehension, King Suketumaan decided to end his misery by committing suicide. But he realized that suicide throws a person into hellish conditions of rebirth, and so he abandoned that idea. Seeing that he was gradually destroying himself by his all consuming anxiety over the lack of a son, the king at last mounted his horse and left for the dense forest alone. No one, not even the priests and brahmins of the palace, knew where he had gone.

In that forest, which was filled with deer and birds and other animals, King Suketumaan wandered aimlessly, noting all the different kinds of trees and shrubs, such as the fig, bel fruit, date palm, jack fruit, bakula, saptaparnaa, tinduka, and tilaka, as well as the shala, taala, tamaala, saralaa, hingotaa, arjuna, labheraa, bahedaa, sallaki, karondaa, patala, khaira, shaka and palaasha trees. All were beautifully decorated with fruits and flowers.

He saw deer, tigers, wild boar, lions, monkeys, snakes, huge bull elephants in arut, cow elephants with their calves, and four-tusked elephants with their mates close by. There were cows, jackals, rabbits, leopards, and hippopotamuses. Beholding all these animals accompanied by their mates and offspring, the king remembered his own menagerie, especially his palace elephants, and became so sad that he absent mindedly wandered into their very midst.

Suddenly the king heard a jackal howl in the distance. Startled, he began wandering about, looking around in all directions. Soon it was midday, and the king started to tire. He was tormented by hunger and thirst also. He thought, "What sinful deed could possibly have done so that I am now forced to suffer like this, with my throat parched and burning, and my stomach empty and rumbling? I have pleased the devas (demigods) with numerous fire sacrifices and abundant devotional worship. I have given many gifts and delicious sweets in charity to all the worthy brahmins too. And I have taken care of my subjects as though they were my very own children. Why then am I suffering so? What unknown sins have come to bear fruit and torment me in this dreadful way?"

Absorbed in these thoughts, King Suketumaan struggled forward, and eventually, due to his pious credits, he came upon a beautiful lotus bearing pond that resembled the famous Lake Maanasarova. It was filled with aquatics, including crocodiles and many varieties of fish, and graced with varieties of lilies and lotuses. The beautiful lotuses had opened to the Sun, and swans, cranes and ducks swam happily in its waters.

Nearby were many attractive ashramas, where there resided many saints and sages who could fulfill the desires of anyone. Indeed, they wished everyone well. When the king saw all these, his right arm and right eye began to quiver, a sakuna sign (for a male) that something auspicious was about to happen.

As the king dismounted his horse and stood before the sages, who sat on the shore of the pond, he saw that they were chanting the holy names of God on japa beads. The king paid his obeisances and, joining his palms, addressed them with glorified praises. Observing the respect the king offered them, the sages said, ‘We are very pleased with you, Oh king. Kindly tell us why you have come here. What is on your mind? Please inform us what is your heart’s desire.’

The king replied, ‘Oh great sages, who are you? What are your names, surely your presence reveals that you are auspicious saints? Why have you come to this beautiful place? Please tell me everything.’ “The sages replied,"Oh king, we are known as the ten Vishvadevas (the sons of Vishva; Vasu, Satya, Kratu, Daksha, Kaala, Kaama, Dhriti, Pururavaa, Maadrava and Kuru). We have come here to this very lovely pond to bathe. The month of Magha (Madhava mase) will soon be here in five days (from the Magh nakshatra), and today is the famous Putrada Ekadasi. One who desires a son should strictly observe this particular Ekadasi.’

The king said, ‘I have tried so hard to have a son. If you great sages are pleased with me, kindly grant the boon of having a good son (putra).’ ‘The very meaning of Putradaa, ‘the sages replied, ‘Is “giver of a putra, pious son.” So please observe a complete fast on this Ekadasi day. If you do so, then by our blessing and by the mercy of Lord Sri Keshava invested in us – surely you will beget a son.’

On the advice of the Vishvadevas, the king observed the auspicious fast day of Putrada Ekadasi according to the established rules and regulations, and on the Dvasdasi, after breaking his fast, he paid obeisances again and again to all of them.

Soon after Suketumaan returned to his palace and united with his queen. Queen Shaibya immediately became pregnant, and exactly as the Vishvadevas had predicted, a bright faced, beautiful son was born to them. In due course of time he became famous as an heroic prince, and the king gladly pleased his noble son by making him his successor. The son of Suketumaan took care of his subjects very conscientiously, just as if they were his own children.

In conclusion, Oh Yudhisthira, one who wishes to fulfill his desires should strictly observe Putrada Ekadasi. While on this planet, one who strictly observes this Ekadasi will surely obtain a son, and after death he will achieve liberation. Anyone who even reads or hears the glories of Putrada Ekadasi obtains the merit earned by performing a horse sacrifice. It is to benefit all humanity that I have explained all this to you.”

Thus ends the narration of the glories of Pausha-shukla Ekadasi, or Putrada Ekadasi, from the Bhavishya Purana of Veda Vyasadeva.

Thanks Krishna Kirtana!

PLEASE ACCEPT MY SINCERE APOLOGIES

Before the year ends, I must write and ask for an apology from all sincere devotees of the Lord for any offense I may have ever committed, and particularly those special sincere souls who were directly initiated by Srila Prabhupada.

Some weeks ago, in a quite upset moment I posted the following, something which I did not intended to come out in the way the words were rendered:

"It might possibly take all Srila Prabhupada's diksha initiated disciples to have left their bodies before the young can be trusted for their capacity and ability to render sincere service."

After meditating on how that was stated, I have realized how that was certainly not the correct way to express what I was feeling. I would like to share with you that it has been frustrating at times to do what I consider my service, going back years and much history involved, often with much opposition or lack of support from devotees of the older generation. And that's all I was trying to express in a moment of frustration.

Thinking it more deeply, I can also see that such type of difficulties and frustration were more than likely the case for many Srila Prabhupada disciples themselves and all the difficulties they have experienced in the past in various circumstances, and others as well who have come and gone in the Vaishnava communities — the difficulties in doing their service due to seemingly external causes.

If I have offended anyone by the way I expressed myself, I ask you for your forgiveness and I can only hope for your blessings, for that is the only way I can continue to try to serve, however possible.

Please accept my humble obeisances.

Your servant,
Krishna Kirtan

[PADA: Yes, good idea, those of us who want to see Srila Prabhupada established as the acharya should all be working together con-jointly, whether first, second or the up and coming third generation. Actually now there is a third generation, and we need to leave them with enough information so that they will be able to figure out what Srila Prabhupada intended and ordered.

For example, the Bangalore devotees read Srila Prabhupada's documents (such as -- the July 9th letter, the will, the 1977 conversations, the letters, the appointment tape, the DOM, the poison tapes etc.) that we began posting on our harekrsna.org web site starting in the mid 1990s. They eventually accepted these documents as the actual understanding Srila Prabhupada gave us.

And then these documents were submitted by them into the Supreme Courts of Delhi, so that the devotees worldwide, the India courts, and the mass of public could understand the actual orders. That is what we should all be doing con-jointly, collating these important documents and making sure they are available for us and future generations, and if we can, -- pressing these documents into courts so they will be made as the actual directive documents of ISKCON -- as our affiliates are doing in Delhi now.

Getting these hidden documents out there was the first step in having people understand the actual orders, and more and more folks are getting a grasp on this as time goes on. Hopefully, the courts will also agree with these documents and these orders will be established as the rule of law for ISKCON. Of course, just having these documents submitted was a huge step forward for us, win or lose, its now all on official Supreme Court record.

And aside from that, we all agree on the need to make sure future generations can get original books, which is another project we wanted as well. All of us should work on these efforts con-jointly and save these important matters for the future folks.

As for us personally, we evidently were protected by Krishna in getting all this info out over the years. Some of my own friends thought I'd be dead after bringing out the poison tapes for example, they said I'd be dead in 24 hours, and that is because, not enough of us have been forwarding these materials -- making the few who were forwarding these materials in danger. I am also glad you said that getting these poison tapes out there was very important in clearing up some of these issues, you are right.

So if everyone is forwarding these materials, it will not be so easily suppressed as it has been since 1977. This will help many others if we all give them these materials for their benefit. I am very glad to see your work on getting the original books out, bravo! Yes, we should be working together and not at cross purposes, thus all of these documents, whether the books and all the other info, should be made widely available since, none of us will be here forever so there should be a record of Srila Prabhupada's materials for future generations to benefit. Lets move forward in 2015. ys pd]

Vigilante Mob Attacks Rapist (Ganganagar)

Little Krishna Videos

PADA: These "Little Krishna" videos on Youtube have had 6-7 million views, and that is not counting -- the millions of folks who have watched these videos on television in India, -- plus millions of sales of these as DVDs for home playing.

Overall, very nice preaching, targeted for children. As usual, some folks criticized these videos as "childish" -- ummm right? The target audience is children? Anyway, it appears that no one else has been able to put together any better program of preaching to children like this. This is way superior to having children watch Bugs Bunny!

This always amazes us at PADA, some "devotees" say that it would be better for children to watch Bugs Bunny than these Krishna stories. These folks are apparently, more devoted to Bugs Bunny than Krishna. Anyway, our experience seeing kids watch this is, they love it! ys pd

"So if you become Krsna conscious, then your life is secure, guaranteed. If you make complete the Krsna conscious life in this life, then tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti [Bg. 4.9]. That is wanted. But don't be neglectful. Those who have taken to Krsna consciousness, they should be very serious. Why should you take another chance of getting birth in a very rich family or a brahmana family? That is also risky because it is not guarantee. Because generally, those who are rich, they don't care for Krsna consciousness. "Oh, this Krsna consciousness is meant for the poor fellow." Or if somebody is born in a brahmana family, he is also puffed up. He is thinking, "Oh, these are mlecchas, yavanas, Americans. Oh, I am brahmana. I am born in a very high family." That is a cause of falldown, yes, proud, pride, unnecessary pride. A Vaisnava is very humble. Trnad api sunicena taror api sahisnuna amanina manadena. We have already discussed. Titiksavah karunikah suhrdah sarva-dehinam [SB 3.25.21].

So these are the chance, human being, and there is Krsna consciousness movement, there is Krsna, Krsna is advising personally -- so many opportunities offered by this Krsna consciousness movement. Why don't you take it? If you don't take it, then you are committing suicide.

Thank you very much. Hare Krsna. (end)

Famous Actress re: Women in India

[PADA: "Mallika Sherawat" -- Hang on for a bit, it switches to English. Unfortunately, many of her points are valid especially her complaints of "femicide" (abortion of female fetus), rapes, "honor" killings, and repression of women in general. What is amazing to us is how this "ordinary woman" is fearless in challenging the status quo, when we generally cannot get the "kshatriya men" of ISKCON to make a peep of complaint about almost anything, no matter how badly deteriorated it is. ys pd]

Hindu Party "Conversions"

A Lecture for Everyone! (Bir Krishna swami)

PADA: OK, so much for all the foolish people who said "no one cares about PADA's issues." Bir Krishna is now discussing ALL the issues we forwarded over the years, for example:

*** 1) The GBC are NOT gurus: In 1978 we said these GBC gurus are not qualified to be gurus. Subsequently, they have been falling down left, right and center. And thus -- even Bir Krishna admits -- that his GBC's gurus are generally falling -- and found to be unqualified. And this is  now common PUBLIC knowledge. Which simply means, people should have heeded us in 1978-1980 when we first started making complaints about this concocted GBC guru process when the "fallen guru" cracks started to form at the start.

Bir Krishna's new idea is that NOW we are the ones who should "take care when choosing a GBC guru." Why? Because -- Bir Krishna is not taking any care when selecting his GBC gurus. He just selects a big pile of people as gurus, and rubber stamps them by a "GBC vote" that they are gurus. And then you have the job to sort them all out to see if any of them are bona fide or not, since he does not even try to sort out whom is bona fide and whom is not for ISKCON. Yes, he is still promoting false acharyas and so its "up to you" to figure out which of his gurus are real and which are not. Its a peanut and walnut shell circus guessing game.

That means he is knowingly promoting false acharyas and its "up to you" not to get cheated by his system. He is handing you a pile of dollar bills, some might be counterfeit, some might not be, but he does not tell you one way or the other. You have to look at his dollar bills and try to figure out if they have value or not.

Just imagine if the USA banks started handing out money that might be counterfeit or real, since the bank no longer bother to certify the currency, or even care one way or other if they are handling false or real currency. In a short time -- the entire society would collapse since their monetary system would fall apart. And ISKCON has fallen apart for the same reasons: the GBC is printing out counterfeit "guru" money, then assuring people that their guru currency is real, and yet -- then their victims are having to find out for themselves -- nope! Its counterfeit.

The good news is -- that means Bir Krishna is admitting his guru process is not bona fide. The bad news is, he wants to shift the blame for his bogus "selecting false acharyas" on us -- and not on the GBC -- despite it is the GBC who has been promoting all these false gurus all along -- in the first place. This is called cheating, "You have to buy one of our used cars, but we cannot guarantee any of them will actually be reliable, or even that your car will run far enough to take you off our dealer's lot." Jayadvaita swami actually said that, taking a GBC guru is like buying a used car, it is "buyer beware."

Anyway some of us at least, like the PADA editor, said -- way back at the "get go" in 1978 -- the GBC are promoting false gurus. And now Bir Krishna says -- we are correct! And moreover he says our idea that this is bogus -- is commonly known all over the world at the present time. That means, our idea was correct the whole time, and all of our challenges to the "bogus guru appointment" are factual.

A few fools are still saying we are making offenses for questioning this bogus guru process, they just cannot get over the fact that there WAS no GURU appointment. Now they are having a hard time recruiting new people into their system, because who wants to accept a peanut and shell game guru system?

*** 2) Children of ISKCON: In 1980 we said there is a child mistreatment problem. Some people said "PADA is a crazy man," etc. Yet now, even Bir Krishna says -- our complaint on this issue is a fact and is now common knowledge. Bir Krishna's argument is: "We were only 23 years old then, we were still very young, and so we did not know how to manage children, and that is what caused the mistreatment." Umm, you did not know that children need food, clothing, medical care and protection from molesting?

At the same time, those of us who objected to the mistreating of children issue were suppressed, even murdered. That means these Bir Krishna folks not only knew there were problems, they knew we were being suppressed for raising and discussing these problems. Later on we had to make the whole issue public to save hundreds of children who were still in that system, to get them pulled out. Many of them have thanked me for helping get them out of that program. Of course the perps, abusers and their supporters have not been happy we liberated their victims. Naturally! What kind of people are happy to see children being abused? Our opponents, whom else?

*** 3) ISKCON's Gaudiya Matha "Shiksha gurus": We said that the GBC's going to the Gaudiya Matha in 1978 "to associate with elderly and senior devotees" was going to back-fire, because it would create a second tier of authority for ISKCON. It has. ISKCON has lost thousands and thousands of people over to the Gaudiya Matha, because the GBC said ISKCON members should go there and "obtain senior and advanced association" from these Gaudiya Matha folks.

Bir Krishna is trying to walk this backwards, and say that the Gaudiya Matha's gurus were often failing and were not authorized, but he cannot put his GBC's "shiksha guru" genie back into the bottle. ISKCON now has several full scale competitors due to the GBC's promoting all these Gaudiya Matha authorities, and that means we were right -- they should not have gone there in the first place. Worse, this has spawned serious competition for ISKCON. Bir Krishna fails to explain why the GBC made all these Gaudiya Matha folks into "ISKCON's shiksha gurus" in the first place?

*** 4) Women's issue: Some of our earliest PADA helpers and "informers" were a pack of women. They wanted us to expose their stories (without using their names), and so we published many of their comments in our earlier newsletters. Yep, giving a voice to the oppressed women, no wonder many misogynistic "men" are so upset with PADA!

Srila Prabhupada wanted the women to be protected, to sum it up, they weren't. Bir Krishna gives a wishy washy explanation for how that happened, but we all know what happened, his GBC exploited the women as a class. One of the women they exploited is named Nandini Dasi (Nori Muster) and she wrote a book called "Betrayal of the Spirit" -- which is one of the books these people cite in the room asking Bir Krishna about it.

What amazes us is --many ISKCON "men" were (and still are?) afraid to speak out, whereas Nandini was writing articles against these bogus gurus -- for decades really, way before many "men" said anything. Apparently, a 98lbs. woman has more "kshatriya spirit" than a lot of the ISKCON "men."

The Bir Krishna program is trying now to make a few women into gurus -- to pacify their group, that's just not going to fix things. Nandini could easily kick the stuffing out of 95% of the ISKCON men because -- she has been fearless. I do not agree with all her writings, but she at least said we have to reign in the exploiting of women and children and -- she is right on this point.

Pretty amazing that the people asking these questions are in maybe Serbia or Russia, and they are reading Nandini's book, Monkey on a Stick, and no doubt -- Harekrsna.org,

*** Radha Kunda Babajis: Oh swell! Bir Krishna swami says that often the Radha Kunda Babajis are very offensive because they are "criticizing the guru line of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta." And they are called "the anti-party" (against Srila Prabhupada's line). We even heard about that in 1970s, there was an "anti-party" in Vrndavana. And the reason the GBC allows their members to go and associate with the anti-party is -- what? Aindra dasa was complaining about this in 1990, if not much sooner, and nothing seems to be done to fix this, rather GBC members are going there still.

*** Monkey on a Stick: Me and Sulochana working together really brought down the GBC guru show big time. He was assassinated and I was then interviewed for the book, CBS news, etc. and gave these folks a lot of inside details. The GBC gurus have never recovered from this mess.

*** Poison issue: After we brought out the poison tapes in 1997, this issue just keeps on going.

*** Changed books, same problem, people are wondering how come the books are being changed and this was an issue PADA brought out early in the 1980s. Of course some cry babies are now upset with PADA for "making a controversy."

Anyway, the point is, the issues we raised are not going away, rather more and more people are bringing these things forward. Until the GBC has a total house cleaning, these issues will continue to be coming forward to challenge them. Bir Krishna has meanwhile gone off with Hrdayananda's Krishna West program, that means, they are trying to sneak out of Dodge city. Hee hee! ys pd

Radhakrishna das Brahmachari Replies

"Sri Sri Radha Krishna" -- Painted 1910

*** His Grace Radhakrishnadas Brahmachari Prabhu (GKG) of Sridham Vrindavan is a duly initiated disciple of (ISKCON's) His Holiness Sri Srimad Gopalakrishna Goswami Maharaja Bhagavatapada. He also travels throughout Bharata-varsa and the whole globe for the purpose of disseminating the precepts of Sri Gaurangadeva, the Sad-goswamis, and Srila Prabhupada. His Grace is fluent in languages like: 1) Sankrit, 2) Hindi, 3) Gujarati, 4) Bengali and 5) English. His Grace is also expert in North Indian Classical Music. However, the most illustrious remarkable speciality of His Grace's discourses and personality is that he is an original thinker and philosopher, presents Gaudiya Vaishnava doctrine in an unprecedented and unique way with acute logic and sharp memory, philosophizes in a dialectical style of debate, harmonizes various controversial and mutually contradictory subjects of the scriptures.

HG wrote: "Towards Mr. PADA

Those who claim that HH Gopal Krishna Goswami was not specifically and explicitly appointed by HDG ACBSP to function as his successor diksha-guru – should know that the specific institutionalized appointment of mantra-sisya to function in the role of diksha-gurus is a recently invented custom of neo-Gauḍiya institutions (but, there is no discrepancy even if they were to be appointed by their mantra-gurus).

[PADA: Right. so that means you admit that Gopal Krishna Goswami is participating in a concocted and indeed "invented" diksha guru process. And worse, he has been a GBC leader (and guru) within this group of "inventors" for years. First of all, after 1978 Gopal Krishna swami claimed that 11 conditioned souls were "appointed" as ISKCON's gurus in 1977. So far, he has no evidence this appointment ever took place? Nor does he have ANY evidence that the 11 were qualified to be diksha gurus?

As we pointed out earlier, later on, Gopal Krishna swami complained that there were no "Indian born" gurus among the 11, and so he begged these 11 conditioned souls to vote him as one of their co-acharyas. You say this is an occidental (Western) deviation, while simultaneously, you say that Gopal Krishna swami is himself "voted into" this program, and he is indeed "Indian bodied" according to -- himself. And he was begging the 11 (Western gurus?) to participate in their post-1977 debauchery guru lineage on the plea they needed "Indian bodied" folks contained within this deviation.

Sorry RKDB, lest we forget, you also said Gopal Krishna swami is your "guru link" to the parampara. That makes you linked to the debauchee's guru line, according to -- yourself.

Again, around 1982 the 11 conditioned souls "2/3 show of hands" voted GKG in as their co-acharya. Except, the 11 were never appointed as gurus -- as you actually agreed to and pointed out herein, because all this was invented? And apart from that, there is no system of "2/3 show of hands voting for the guru," and we all agree to this. Its all a concoction on the part of GKG and his cohorts.

So -- Gopal Krishna swami's party is creating huge deviations, and you even admit he is a GBC leader among the group that is inventing and then promoting these deviations. Thus GKG is -- participating, endorsing, enabling and EMPOWERING all these deviations, by his participating in this bogus (a) "appointed" and (b) "2/3 show of hands voted" guru process. In sum, GKG is participating in a recently concocted invention, just as you admit. We agree!]

RKDB: Contrary is found in the classical history of Gaudiya Sampradaya. Even HDG ACBSP was not specifically appointed by SBSST as his successor guru.

[PADA: Correct, the factual acharya is self-effulgent and there is no need of mundane certifications. Whereas the "guru sytem" Gopal Krishna Goswami and his cohorts have concocted is totally outside the bona fide parampara since GKG's guru system has: appointed gurus, illicit sex gurus, beer drinking gurus, falling down gurus, 2/3 show of hands "voted in" gurus, suspended gurus, censured gurus, gurus who end up blaspheming Krishna, and who knows what else,

And all this is part of Gopal Krishna Goswami's guru line. And he is thus guilty of concocting, inventing, -- and worse -- helping, aiding, abetting, assisting, empowering, enabling and acting as the maid servant to this lineage. So the blame for orchestrating this lineage is on his head.

He is responsible for orchestrating this lineage as are others from India such as BR Sridhara / BV Narayana / BV and BP Puri / Gaura Govinda / Subhag / swamis -- and many assorted other "GBC shiksha advisors" who upheld and under-wrote these alleged GBC gurus in one form or other.]

RKDB: Hence, any disciple who has sincerely rendered service to his guru and if his guru (e.g. HDG ACBSP) has directly appointed him (HH GKG) as the first GBC of ISKCON in India in 1975 AD (the guru-given post which HH GKG continues till date),

[PADA: OK so now you are saying that Gopal Krishna Goswami is a GBC -- and he has been all along -- which means -- he is largely responsible for aiding and abetting all the crazy, apa-siddhanta, offensive and contrary GBC documents that they have posted over the years including their 1980 paper -- "The Mahajanas Have Difficulties" -- wherein Gopal Krishna's GBC attacks the Mahajanas.

In addition, the GBC claims to be the "administering board" for their acharyas. How is it that Krishna's acharyas need -- "administration" -- from a governing body? When someone like Ravindra Swarupa is the secretary of the GBC, that would make him the secretary of the acharya administration board -- or more literally -- the overseer of the acharyas.

How does a person like Ravindra Swarupa become the person in charge of God's acharyas? Why does Gopal Krishna Goswami empower a person like Ravindra Swarupa to be the chief head authority over the acharyas? Which previous acharyas needed to be supervised by such a committee? And while some of the GKG gurus were engaged in illicit sex, we were complaining, and yet GKG was going along with these deviants posing as acharyas? Why are we occidentals almost always way ahead of your "India scholars" like GKG -- because we recognize false acharyas years ahead of your program?

Worse! We thought the shastra actually says -- Krishna (God Almighty) is the person who is in charge of His acharyas? Wasn't Ravindra Swarupa censured for having a "young female assistant"? Why does Gopal Krishna Goswami empower and emplace such people in charge of the acharyas, when Krishna says He is the one who dictates to the acharyas (and not someone like Ravindra Swarupa das)?

Where does Krishna say, "Henceforward I shall no longer dictate to the acharyas, I am handing off that job to Ravindra Swarupa das"? And why don't you and your mentor GKG know these things already, that a conditioned soul cannot "manage" the acharyas? Another example is when the GBC placed Malati dasi in charge of "monitoring" Satsvarupa Das Goswami for deviations.

Which previous acharyas had to be "monitored" for deviations, and monitored by a "monitoring committee"? It seems you fellows are concocting more things -- every day? That really means -- Gopal Krishna Goswami thinks Malati dasi in the person who is in charge of the gurus in the parampara. How did she become the boss of the acharyas, and how was Krishna removed from this post?

So this is the question which was asked since 1978, how can Gopal Krishna Goswami's GBC empower and emplace someone like Ravindra Swarupa in the post of chief administrating secretary -- of God's acharyas and messiahs? Which previous acharyas were under the authority of such governing bodies? Which previous acharyas needed to be "monitored for deviations," and why do you folks say acharyas are deviating in the first place? When Krishna says He dictates to the acharyas, you folks say no, because Krishna's idea is bogus, rather it is our committee that is going to dictate to the acharyas.

And why don't you and GKG know that acharyas are not subordinated to governing bodies ESPECIALLY since -- there has been nothing but troubles left, right and center with your process? And why is it we fallen down occidentals have to constantly clue you folks in about these topics?

Srila Prabhupada says the acharyas get dictation from Krishna, not from a board that is contaminated with debauchees? Why doesn't GKG and his disciples like RKDB not know that people who have been Kirtanananda's main supporters, who are being censured for having a female assistant etc. -- are not the dictation masters, governance masters, and authorities or overseers of the Lord's acharyas?]

RKDB: If later, he acts in the role of a diksa-guru in ISKCON, there is no harm (because, HDG ACBSP had formed GBC to oversee the spiritual direction of ISKCON).

[PADA: OK this is common in the GBC rhetoric, their conditioned souls will "act in the role of acharyas." This makes no sense? You folks take the hospital's janitor, hand him a scalpel, and then tell him to perform brain surgery on patients by "acting in the role of a brain surgeon." And you think this will end well, despite repeated failures in your program?

Where in the Vedas do we find that conditioned neophytes are ordered to "act in the role" of God's successors and messiahs? And this begs the question, are you folks even reading the Vedas? I can also go out and purchase an airline pilot's hat and uniform at the thrift store, does that means I should then be placed at the wheel of a Boeing Jetliner and told to "act like a pilot"? OK lets face it, lots of people will die if we start doing these things ...! Rather, the Vedas tell us that "play acting" at being an acharya takes us to the lowest regions of the universe.]

RKDB: The same logic cannot be applied to occidentals because they are not allowed to act in the capacity of diksha-gurus according to scriptures like Mahabharata and Haribhaktivilasa. Despite severe objections taken by his fellow occidental peers, HH GKG was made first oriental diksha-guru in ISKCON in early 1980s due to exceptional desire of HDG ACBSP (though HDG ACBSP was not present mortally then).

[PADA: This is a rare case when the 11 are right. Gopal Krishna Goswami is foolish to say that having an India body birth makes him an acharya. In any case you now admit -- Gopal Krishna Goswami was voted into a debauchee guru system by persons who were sometime engaged in debauchery, and he thinks that makes him bona fide? And your debuachee guru process is "the will of the acharyas"? We Westerners are in part to blame for this giant imbroglio, agreed, but as you admit herein, Gopal Krishna Goswami was voted into their system. He therefore validates their system.]

RKDB: The PSPT or the Ritvik System of mantra-diksha cannot be applied in Vaiṣṇava Sampradayas (only in exceptional cases of tamasika-trantra-sadhana, it is allowed) and because, the usage of
the conditions set in the dubiously formed July 9th 1977 letter (dubiously formed because it doesn’t contain name of any oriental disciple of HDG ACBSP – which HDG ACBSP would not have done voluntarily – unless under a severe compulsion created by occidentals) are only applicable till the physical demise of HDG ACBSP – which is quite implicit from that directive’s perusal.

[PADA: OK so it is tamasic to worship pure devotees like Srila Prabhupada, and it is bona fide for Gopal Krishna Goswami to empower an illicit sex guru process? You seem to have not read much shastra RKDB? GKG's worship of illlicit sex gurus program is considered as tamasic, and our idea of worship of pure devotees is considered as shuddha sattwa, according to shastra.

You folks keep saying the worship of illicit sex is bona fide, while worship of pure devotees is tamasic, where is this stated in shastra? And when GKG's acharyas are caught engaged in illicit sex, then they are often papered over, covered up, if not re-instated. So when deviants are being re-instated as acharyas, they are simultaneously voting in folks like GKG?]

RKDB: Also, the age-old classical norms and conventions of Sanatana Dharma do not permit the termination of live diksha-guru-parampara.

[PADA: OK so you and Gopal Krishna Goswami are promoting the worship of "living" illicit sex as acharyas. You folks have no idea that worship of illicit sex is not bona fide, whether living or not living? Where do we find that shastra says we need to worship living illicit sex acharyas, and their promoters and enablers like GKG?

And what difference does it make if you are promoting the worship of living illicit sex deviants, or departed illicit sex deviants? This sounds like another smokescreen deviation. Religious people are not supposed to worship illicit sex deviants, and their cheer leaders like Gopal Krishna Goswami, period.]

RKDB: Or else, it would remain no different from Sikhism (which separated itself from Sanatana Dharma) and the instance of Ekalavya considering the deity of Droṇacarya to be his vidya-guru!""

[PADA: Fine except, the Sikhs also do not worship illicit sex acharyas? This is not relevant to what we are discussing. You also need to read how Gopal Krishna Goswami's program of spending apparently $20 million dollars suing us -- leaves places like Gita Nagari high and dry without proper funds, with not enough money to fix their heater for the devotees and the deities?

Why does GKG want Krishna to live in the ghetto and his lawyers to live in mansions? And did we forget to mention that the result of GKG's program of spending millions suing us is that now, your GKG people are being charged with criminal theft, criminal contempt of court, criminal conspiracy, fraud, tampering with the courts, bribery, etc.? So now your program wants to give Krishna even more bad publicity, and you are spending millions for the sole purpose to give Krishna another black eye of bad publicity? Why is this? ys pd]

Myth, Love and Lust

http://iskcontimes.org/on-lust-and-love

SRILA PRABHUPADA: This is Maya. "Come on, come on, enjoy me." As soon as you enjoy, you become entrapped. Just like they throw the tackle and invite the fish. As soon as — it eats! Finished. The fish is losing his life by eating, by tongue.

The deer by hearing; the hunter plays very nice flute and all of them assemble to hear. Hunter keeps the trap and it loses life. The elephant is caught by sexual attraction. A she-elephant is trained, goes to the male elephant, and it follows. The male elephant falls into a big pit. Then he's shackled and taken away. Bumble bee is entrapped by smelling lotus flower; it gets trapped within the flower, and loses its life.

These examples are for animal kingdom whose one sense is only active. But in the case of human beings, all our senses are active. Then what is our position? A man has got six wives, and he has entered the house, and all the wives have captured him, "You come to my room." You see? So one has taken his one hand, another has taken another hand, one has taken his one leg, so he's like this: "Where shall I go?" So this is our position.

This body means the senses. My eyes want, "Oh, there is a beautiful girl. Let us see." Ear. "Oh, there is very nice music. Let us have it." "Oh, there is a very good restaurant, palatable dishes. Let’s go." Tongue dictates. Eyes dragging to some place, ear dragging, tongue dragging. So our position is like different wives and dragging to different rooms. Thus, we are perplexed. Instead of controlling the senses, we are becoming servant of senses and losing this great opportunity of human life. The only way to get out of it is to be fully Krishna conscious.

Hindus Protest "PK" Movie

[PADA: Movie is "disrespecting Hindu culture." Right! We need to organize a similar protest of the bogus GBC gurus. ys pd]

The Earth is a Prison House

====================================

Sri Srimad Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada's instructions in question-and-answer form.

Question: Is this world really a prison house for the conditioned souls?

Sri Srimad Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada: "Those who do not desire anything from this material world are called niskincana devotees. In their opinion, there is nothing, no object or entity in this world, that can give us perpetual happiness. This earth is a prison house for the conditioned soul. As a result of our aversion to Krsna we have become prisoners here and are thus suffering so much pain and agony. As prisoners we are under the control of the jailor of this prison house – our mind – and consequently we conceive of our sorrow to be happiness. By this we attain our due distress. Every fool who runs after sense enjoyment in this illusory material world will find himself entangled by nescience in the clutches of maya.

Those who are grha-vrata, who have taken a vow to enter into and enjoy worldly life, think, "We must get a servant and, now that we have become grha-vrata, we shall easily manage everything and easily understand everything with the help of our very own senses." The desire to become a politician, a litterateur, a scholar, a wealthy person, an altruist, the leader of a nation, an intellectual or a materialist in general is nothing but the desire to become the master of maya.

However, Prahlada Maharaja says, "Do not let your senses wander towards the outside worlds. Do not hold external material objects in esteem." We have become deha-atmavadis (those who consider the body to be the self) and grha-vrata (those who have taken a vow to enter into and enjoy worldly life), and thus we dress ourselves up as masters of this world. We view this world with eyes that seek selfish gratification and enjoyment, and we think that all should be our servants, ever prepared to wait upon us.

All elements like earth, water, fire, air, ether; as well as the moon, the sun, the planets, the constellations; plants, animals, trees and creepers – all are ripe for my enjoyment. We think, "I am the enjoyer of this world; everyone in it is meant to serve me." But do we ever consider whom this world is actually for? It is an instrument to be used in the service of Jagadisvara, the Lord of the Universe. If we are not engaged in hari-bhajana then we do not even have the right to take a piece of straw from this world."

Life is short! (X-box commercial)

[PADA: Life is short, so you should take to Krishna consciousness -- and as soon as possible, as Srila Prabhupada often says. This video was made for an X-box commercial and was pulled due to complaints, ok its kind of gross, but it has a pretty amazing message on the temporary nature of material life. It sort of sums up the whole situation of material existence in a short clip. ys pd]

Gita Nagari Farm Without Heat?

[PADA: Yep, it can get to 20 below zero in January at Gita Nagari, and the community heater apparently is busted. Correct prabhu, the GBC has a spare $20,000,000 to spend on lawsuits, and their folks even said "we will sue you for the next 100 years," but they seem to be unable to fix their own heater at Gita Nagari?

Yep, you got it, the only people who live like kings in the GBC's program are, the GBC and their lawyers! I grew up not far from there, you can get frostbite just putting your hand on a car door handle, you hand will stick on the handle, hey ... its freezing over there! ys pd]

Heating needed at Gita Nagari

Dear Friends and Well-wishers.

While I was away in Mayapur last month, we had a setback: our wood boiler which provides the central heating for Sri Sri Radha Damodar and the devotees, caught on fire. We have not established the cause yet. Fortunately no-one was hurt in any way (the location and building is secured in that way to prevent injury and risk to other buildings). We are requesting anyone who would like to contribute to restoring our heating to please contact me on dhruva@theyogafarm.com or Snana Yatra prabhu on theyatras@theyogafarm.comwith queries and any support that you would like to offer.
The cost of the boiler including installation is $12000.

You can send a check payable to ISKCON Gita Nagari, to 534 Gita Nagari Road, Port Royal, Pa, 17082 or alternatively use the link below:

===============

Dear Prabhus!

Some shocking news that I heard today about the situation in Gitanagari, which is a spiritual farm community so dear to so many people's hearts and from where so many folks get their ahimsa milk products (made with milk from protected cows):

The boiler that provides heat to the many residents of that farm community broke around Thanksgiving. The devotees there have been living without heat for the past four weeks. That's right. In the freezing Pennsylvania winters.

I asked the President of that farm Dhruva and his wife how much money they need to get it replaced, and they said around $12,000 including the labor for installing a new one, which they don't have. I asked why they didn't launch a fund raising campaign to raise this money, and they said they were shy to ask for money (they themselves are part of those who have been living without heat).

I don't know how you feel about no heat in cold weather, but I was in an absolute dither last winter when our gas supply got interrupted in Feb and we were without heat for four HOURS. I can't even imagine living without heat for four WEEKS, as they have been so far.

The solution is actually very simple - if everyone gave what they can (even if it is a little), Gitanagari would raise the required money quickly and get the heat going for the residents. I gave $1,500 to them today. We hear again and again from the bhakti scriptures that service to the devotees is even higher than service to the Lord Himself, and this is a great chance for us to practise that.

If you could share this update on your own FB wall and perhaps pick up the phone to talk to a few people who might be able to contribute, that would be super too.

I generally stay clear of fund raising campaigns, but anything to help devotees be safe, warm, fed and protected is a campaign worth starting - and funding.

Here is a link that provides more details and where you can donate: please specify "boiler replacement" when you donate. Thank you so much!

Shiva Mahapurana Episode 1

[PADA: Some of this is a little mixed up from the Vaishnava version, while some parts of it fit accurately, but its interesting for a few of us at least. It makes a lot of sense that God would have a specific incarnation to manage some of the things going on in this material world. This one has the English sub-titles. There is a whole series, and this is just one part. I like the scene of Lord Brahma questioning his origins and some of the other scenes. Anyway check it out if you like. At the same time, beware of some of the awful depictions of "the Gods of India" and other nonsense coming out more and more from Bollywood these days (see report below). ys pd]

New Bollywood Movie Insults Lord Shiva

[PADA: While there are some good depictions of "the Gods of India" in Bollywood movies, there are also some bad ones. As usual, some people are wondering, "Why aren't the Hindus protesting this movie more vigorously"? Here is a report from Bhakta Sanjay:]

Latest Bollywood Movie PK

'Lord Shiva is chased around toilets, ladders, terrace, roof, and he hides behind people, underneath chairs & tables near people's feet and his "rear" is also shown in such awkward position in the new bollywood movie called PK

Responsibilities

When you take a position, you have to accept responsibilities. The more you become advanced, the more you become responsible for even little things. Responsibilities does not mean some fancy dress competition, your mental composure should match with the gravity of the situation around.

Bollywood is simply demonic based on the eternal Vedic teachings.

Most Bollywood Movies are filled with lusty and materialist scenes. These lusty and demonic scenes do not represent India, her culture nor her religion. The aim of Bollywood is simply to destroy morality and India. Please don’t support this rape on morality and righteousness by watching these types of Bollywood Movies. Every time you watch a demonic Bollywood Movie, you unknowingly sink deeper into ignorance and the result will be a hellish life, even in this life. Please stop watching Bollywood Movies from today.

Would you allow your wife or daughter to perform a silly dance, half naked on the street? No? Well then, why do you watch the daughters and wives of others dancing silly and half naked? According to Vedic culture, only a prostitute would dance half naked on the street? And those watching a prostitute are promoting prostitution.

If you want to keep your righteousness values, avoid Bollywood Movies. Until around the late 70’s, Bollywood movies portrayed good values and promoted righteousness. The old Bollywood movies used to literally make everyone cry. But now, Bollywood movies have become stupid, silly, and demonic. The theme of most Bollywood movies is lust. Boy going after girl, and girl going after boy.
The Bollywood movies of today promote irreligious, meat eating, drinking, gambling, materialism, partying, discoing, lust, and greed. These are the qualities that lead to hell.

What is Western culture?

There are many good things in the Western culture, but unfortunately most people take the bad parts and leave the good parts. Partying, discoing, meat eating, drinking, having relationships before marriage (boy friend/girl friend), having relationships after marriage, having no respect for the elders and no responsibility for ones actions. Enjoy today and forget about tomorrow, as though this is the only life.

The Vedic culture is the richest and most peaceful of all cultures, but people watching Bollywood movies truly believe that they portray Vedic values, but this is completely false. Bollywood movies are nothing but demonic (anti-Vedic). The makers of Bollywood movies are taking part in destroying India, her culture and true identity.

Bollywood promotes marriages based on lust. The simple fact is that many marriages end in a divorce today, because it was based on lust. What are the Qualities of Demoniac People?

In the Bhagavad-Gita, Lord Krishna defines the qualities of demonic people:
“Pride, arrogance, conceit, anger, harshness and ignorance, these qualities belong to those of demoniac nature, O son of Partha.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 16.4)

Modern lifestyle of meat eating, drinking, partying, discoing, visiting gambling cities, sexual lust, lust for material things, greed, ego, arrogance, desires, and relationships before marriage and outside marriage turns a righteous and intelligent person into a person full of lust, greed, anger and ignorance. A demon.

Western culture, slowly and unknowingly drains away the righteousness qualities in a person.
Lord Krishna states in the Bhagavad-Gita (2.67)

“As a strong wind sweeps away a boat on the water, even one of the roaming senses on which the mind focuses can carry away a man’s intelligence.”
“While contemplating the objects of the senses, a person develops attachment for them, and from such attachment lust develops, and from lust anger arises.
"From anger, complete delusion arises, and from delusion bewilderment of memory. When memory is bewildered, intelligence is lost, and when intelligence is lost one falls down again into the material pool.” (Bhagavad-Gita 2.62-63)

So what causes one to engage in sinful acts?

This question was asked by Arjuna to Lord Krishna. Lord Krishna said: “It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring sinful enemy of this world.” (Lord Krishna, Bhagavad-Gita 3.36-37)

What are The Gates to Hell?

Lord Krishna answers this question in the Bhagavad-Gita (16.21) “There are three gates leading to hell. Lust, anger, and greed. Every sane man should give these up, for they lead to the degradation of the soul.”
What are the Alternatives to the Demonic Bollywood Movies and Serials? Everyone needs some entertainment; simply give up demonic Bollywood for devotional CDs, DVDs, and channels.

Conclusion: The message of the Bhagavad-Gita is very clear. Give up the demonic qualities of meat eating, gambling, partying, discoing, boy friend/girl friend business, drinking, and take up Bhakti Yoga (devotional service unto Lord Krishna). Or you will take birth in the plant and animal kingdom after this life. Then for 8 million births, you will wonder from one species of plant and animal body to another. Only a complete fool would waste this rare human birth.

When the human being gives up the process of hearing about the all-pervading Personality of Godhead, be becomes victim to watching rubbish transmitted by Television. It is creating rapid degradation in the standard of human civilization.

Krishna's land is being destroyed by the greed for luxury in Kali Yuga. In this Kali-yuga, the demoniac mentality is employed in manufacturing various goods to facilitate the process of sense gratification. When we understand our relationship with God then we all will be happy. It is an essential factor for establishing peace in the world.

All happiness in the material world has a beginning and an end, but happiness in Krishna is unlimited, and there is no end.

Please accept my humble obeisances

All glories to Srila Prabhupada ...

Always think of the Lotus Feet of Lord Krishna and you will find no difficulties in executing the tasks allotted to you by Krishna. Chant these names with love and you will feel the ecstasy:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare ...

Hare Krishna ... Jay Jagannath ...
