PADA News January 2000

[PADA NOTE: We have many of our older newsletters available, but only in the English language. We decided that since many folks are NOW using this blog's foreign language "translation" feature, which transforms this blog into many different languages, we should make some of our "older" materials available so that people in other lands could read some of our past stories in their own languages.

At the same time, all of the points we made then are still relevant now, and we hope people will see that our program has been progressing due to our sticking to these points which we have raised all along. The Gauridas Pandit article below is especially relevant EVEN TODAY since he was an eye-witness to Srila Prabhupada's instructions in 1977. ys pd]

BHAKTA VIC

PADA: Did you see this prabhu?
Vic: yes sir.

[PADA: Dear Bhakta Vic, please don't be a smart alec, its not helping, you also said that those of us who tried to stop the molestation are: kuku (but Dhanurdhara is a good guy)! This is the entire problem in a nutshell. ys pd]

=========================

Dear Raghu, I had already replied to your articles on economics previously and had said that these things can only be developed when our society is more stable. Right now, as Sridhari dd says, it is like an atomic bomb has gone off in our city. Under such circumstances, building a community effort like economics is very difficult. The Gaudiya Matha also dwindled in economic respects due to making false gurus, Jim Jones movement crumbled due to false pooja and so on and so forth.

Just look at any place in the world where there is "religion in conflict" and you will see that the economy is the first thing to be totally shot to hell, and the poor citizens suffer horribly. Thus, this schism influence has to be routed out before the economic reform can be proposed. Just like Hare Krishna dasi, she writes about ox power and farms, but she cannot tolerate living on an actual ISKCON farm under the current managers, and having real oxen.

So, your and her ideas are good, for down the road development, but are hard for us to find a proper application right now. Also, the "next letter" you asked about was in an article penned by someone else, not us. He is still working on that letter. Hope this helps....

=========================

1) "BEING OFFENSIVE" update. Some of our Gaudiya Matha friends keep writing to tell us that "PADA is being offensive" for challenging their Gaudiya Matha support of folks like the GBC as --gurus. That is the difference between Srila Prabhupada and many of his God brothers. We could all ask Srila Prabhupada, "Are persons who are taking drugs and engaging in illicit sex, and their backers, bona fide gurus"? Srila Prabhupada would not EVER say, "What an offensive question!" No. He'd just say, "No, they are not and were not bona fide gurus." Bas. Simple. Why can't we return to the actual shastric standard?

In fact, Srila Prabhupada says that Professor Sannyal, Sridhara Maharaja's co-helper in the 1936 guru debacle, was killed by Krishna for supporting this bogus guru Ananta Vasudeva. So, he confirms that both the bogus gurus --and-- their supporters are severely offensive. So, are we to say then that Srila Prabhupada was being offensive for pointing these things out, as the Gaudiya Matha folks seem to imply? What is the point here?

And the Gaudiya Matha folks are still saying that the GBC idea is not found in shastra, meaning what, that they are proud of deviating from the order of their guru and dismantling his GBC idea? Srila Prabhupada would also not EVER say, "When Ramesvara is out dating a 13 year old girl at night he is not a guru, but when he puts on saffron in the morning he is a guru," ... and these are the type of antics which were reported to Sridhara Maharaja and he kept saying that Jayatirtha, Ramesvara et al. should be still be worshipped as acharyas since, "We must not to disturb the sraddha (faith) of the disciple." Faith, in what? Disciple of, what? Worship of, what?

And why do they never explain this, instead they resort to name calling when we ask? I thought that the sanskrit term "sraddha" meant, faith in God and His bona fide guru, not faith in fool's worship? What kind of "faith" is this? Why is this such a big complicated "shastric discussion" deal? Ask anyone on the street the same question, "Are the people who are taking drugs and having illicit sex, and their cheerleaders, gurus"? Nope. This is basic ABC stuff.

We find it rather amazing how people write everything under the sun to us except, "Well right, these people are not, were not, could not have been: acharyas, parampara gurus, diksha gurus, etc. Right. Agreed." Why is this like pulling a mule here? Tripurari reportedly said that some gurus have one foot here, one foot there, one foot here. Hmmmm?

And does he know where they are sticking their other body parts? Small wonder the GBC invited him to speak in LA recently. Anyway, everybody else in the universe knows that these fallen GBC people are not, were not, could not have been bona fide gurus, except a few hold outs? Also, Jayatirtha's folks said we are "being offensive" in 1978. Why can't we ever get a new line of argument? We hate to be the one to point this out, but your classic "shastric arguments" ended up keeping Jayatirtha in power for many more years and caused considerable mayhem, not the least of which is that his head was chopped off and this was reported to millions of folks in the newspapers "Guru's Head Hacked Off." That is the end result of your folks supporting this man as an acharya.

Why not say, no, he never was a guru? Why not admit? Why is it "offensive" to ask if sexual deviants, fools, idiots, rascals and murderers, and their backers, are or were gurus and rati keli residents of Vaikuntha no less? We just don't get it? How can we say that clarifying whom is an acharya and resident of Vaikuntha is offensive? And why not inform the public, "Well the GBC thought he was a guru, and the Gaudiya Matha endorsed him as a guru, but, nope, he was never a guru." This will be a good step towards creating the nominal public credibility of ISKCON.

2) "ORIGIN OF THE SOUL" ISSUE (by pada)

Srila Prabhupada: "As soon as we try to become Lord, immediately we are covered by Maya. Formerly, we were with Krishna in His lila or sport, but this covering of Maya may be of very, very, very, very long duration. Therefore, many creations are coming and going. Due to this long period of time, it is sometimes said that we are ever-conditioned ...Unless one develops full devotional service to Krishna, he goes up only to brahma-sayujya but falls down. After millions and millions of years of keeping oneself away from the lila of the Lord, when one comes to Krishna consciousness, this period becomes insignificant, just like dreaming.

Because he falls down from brahma sayujya, he thinks that may be his origin, but he does not remember that, before that even, he was with Krishna." (Part of a paper made by the GBC) "THE ORIGIN OF THE JIVA: BRAHMAJYOTI OR KRISHNA LILA", taken from an Australian conversation with Srila Prabhupada. Transcribed as "Nectar of the Month," BBT Report, January, 1982.

"The living entity cannot be forgetful of his real identity unless influenced by the avidya potency." Srimad Bhagavatam 3.7.5

"We have come from the spiritual world into this material world. We have forgotten our Father. So we have to revive this relationship with our Father, or God--or Krishna." Lecture, 10.07.75

"...but, in the material world, by the spell of maya or illusion, this eternal relation with the Supreme Personality of Godhead is forgotten..." Srimad Bhagavatam 1.15.25-26

"...so the potency to fall under the influence of the lower energy is always there." Letter to Rayarama, 12.2.68

"So, there is chance of falling down even from the personal association of God..." Room conversation, 9.19.73

"The souls are endowed with minute independence as part of their nature. And this minute independence may be utilized rightly or wrongly at any time, so there is always the chance of falling down by misuse of one’s independence." Letter to Jagadish, 4.25.70

"When the living entities desire to enjoy themselves, they develop a consciousness of duality and come to hate the service of the Lord." Srimad Bhagavatam 4.28.53

"When the living entity thus turns away from the Supreme Lord, he also forgets his own constitutional position as a servant of the Lord." Srimad Bhagavatam 11.2.37

"Yes. The conditioned souls are parts and parcels of the Lord and thus were with Krishna before being conditioned ...similarly, each soul has seen Krishna..." Letter to Jagadish, 2.25.70

"We are all originally Krishna conscious entities..." Hare Krishna album

"Regarding your questions concerning the spirit soul’s falling into maya’s influence, it is not that those who have developed a passive relationship with Krishna are more likely to fall into nescient activities. Usually, anyone who has developed his relationship with Krishna does not fall down in any circumstances, but because the independence is always there, the soul may fall down from any position or any relationship by misusing his independence. But his relationship with Krishna is never lost. Simply it is forgotten by the influence of maya, so it may be regained or revived by the process of hearing the Holy Name..." Letter to Jagadish, 4.25.70

PADA: BUT! Sridhara Maharaja says: "The fallen souls come from the marginal position within the brahmajyoti and not from Vaikuntha." No! We do not originate in the brahmajyoti, moreover Srila Bhaktivinode Thakura says that the brahma-jyoti is hell for the vaishnavas. So, the idea that we originate in hell is --wrong.

3) To Those Who Would Lead Us In 2000

BY PETER MITCHELL

Here follows a list of New Year Resolutions I would consider important, and should seriously be considered by all the leaders of our beloved ISKCON.

1. Replace harshness with compassion, and pride with humility.

[PADA: That has not been able to happen since the GBC and Gaudiya Matha have said that the rude, the crude, the belligerent, the harsh, the non-compassionate, the non-humble, the violent, and so on, are --eternal gurus. And as such, trying to replace such bogus gurus is very difficult because they create violent cults. So, while talking about "replacing" we have to address: why has it been so hard to dislodge these harsh or evil persons? So let us look at the guru cults or vapuh-vada root ideas.]

2. Address long standing grievences rather than sweep them under the rug.

[PADA: Once again, thanks to the GBC and Gaudiya Matha targeting bogus people as gurus, there is a tendency to sweep genuine problems under the rug. As Sridhara Maharaja says, "You cannot criticize (his and the GBC's bogus gurus) since this will destroy the sraddha of the disciple." Meanwhile, the bogus guru is destroying everything he comes in contact with. Read: do not speak up. And of course, the GBC will ensure that you get banned, beaten and shot if you do speak up.]

3. Show more concern for people, than buildings and bank balances.

[PADA: Gaudiya Matha outcome for sure, bricks and stones.]

3. Replace ambitious leaders with qualified ones.

[PADA: Another contradiction. An ambitious person is not a guru.]

4. Bring to justice all those who have committed unspeakable crimes.

[PADA: OK good, for starters issue a decree that they are not, were not, gurus.]

5. Stop demanding respect.
6. Consider power and prestige no longer motives.
7. Give up arrogance, politics and deception.

[PADA: And why has the GBC and the Gaudiya Matha targeted people with these qualities as gurus?]

8. Stop thinking that we have a patent on Prabhupada's mission.

[PADA: Ditto of what occured in the Gaudiya Matha.]

9. Realize that the philosophy of Krishna Consciousness is absolute and cannot be altered by legislation.

[PADA: Ditto of the Gaudiya Matha, "High Court Judge" consciousness.]

10. Understand that the problems facing our movement cannot be corrected by mundane solutions.
11. Start thinking ourselves as servants rather than masters.
12. Stop the merciless sacrifice of countless gentle souls on the plea of "mercy" for a handful of rogues.

[PADA: Well, why did the GBC and the Gaudiya Matha say these rogues are gurus?]

13. Develop enough courage and integrity to apologize to those we hurt so much.
14. Bring back to the shelter of Srila Prabhupada's lotus feet, all those we have driven away.

15. Acknowledge Srila Prabhupada's pre-eminence.

[PADA: Oh oh! The ritvik deviation! He shall be beaten upon with shoes!]

16. Develop selfless dedication to Srila Prabhupada.

[PADA: The GBC and Narayana Maharaja say that is not possible since you must worship a living --GBC or molester?]

17. Sincerely pray every day that the Supreme Lord may save us from the most heinous forms of punishment meted out to offenders, as described in the Srimad Bhagavatam.

[PADA: Well, if you do not believe in God you need not fear anything. Stupidity.]

Subject: Re: Happy 2000

Dear Puranjana Prabhu, PAMRO AGTSP! Thanks for the good wishes. I want to start the year out right and set a trend for more reform so I wrote Svavasa this letter. I hope our victory for Srila Prabhupada is near. Best wishes, Gauridasa Pandita Dasa

A Challenge to 'The Ritvik Heresy'

Dear Svavasa Prabhu,
January 1, 2000

Happy New Year !!!
Please accept my respectful obeisances. All glories to Jagat Guru Srila Prabhupada

I am writing you to beg a bold request. Please remove the paper, 'The Ritvik Heresy' from the alter of Sri Sri Rukmini and Dwarkadish in the temple room.

[PADA: Gauridasa! The GBC has no interest in honest debate, but we like your plucky nature. Keep it up! Even Srila Prabhupada kept asking the Gaudiya Matha to fix their guru mess, knowing that they probably would not.]

GD: If you won't remove it and you still think the paper is philosophically sound and should remain there, then please prove it and allow Yasodanandan Prabhu and myself to debate the author of it and anyone else you think would be appropriate. You can invite devotees from around the world or just a few and videotape it. It can be done sooner or later at Rathayatra time when so many devotees come to LA.

The last debate we had was at the GBC meeting in San Diego in 1990, 10 years ago! The resolution of that meeting was to have another meeting and discuss this most important issue further. That meeting has not happened to date. Please allow a meeting to happen and help us to resolve this matter, so we can cooperate more and more again as Srila Prabhupada wants.

The new anti-ritvik video, 'Disciple of my Disciple' was played in the temple room on Srila Prabhupada's disappearance day. The Producer of the video says it is an uncensored video. How come it is only one sided? How come I was not asked to contribute? I being one of the direct witnesses to these instructions. It's just politics again! How long will this go on?

It's time to work to resolve this matter and stop offending devotees, especially Srila Prabhupada! Both sides of this issue need to meet in a nice Vaisnava fashion and stop throwing booms over the fence hoping that it ends the controversy. It won't! Only the Truth will prevail! And that is that Srila Prabhupada is still the Guru of ISKCON and can and will deliver any and all who take shelter of him and follow his instructions.

Our duty is to help people take shelter of Srila Prabhupada, not ourselves. We should inspire the devotees to take shelter of Srila Prabhupada as Visnujana Swami did.

We need to have open communications with all honesty to resolve our problems and then we can work together to push on this great movement in this new century. Let the Golden Age of Lord Chaitanya continue without politics and then it will attract so many more souls to cooperate and spread the Sankirtan mission of Sri Sri Guru and Gouranga.

Guests are coming to get some mercy and nectar from the temple and they are getting politics. Just yesterday a devotee came up to me and said that he didn't know what initiation system Srila Prabhupada wanted after his departure, but whatever it may be, that Ritvik Heresy paper should not be in the temple room. Please do your duty as a leader and give us the nectar, not politics.

I can say with all certainty that the paper in question is in direct opposition to what Srila Prabhupada said regarding ISKCON Initiations. I personally heard these instructions and they are on tape and documented in the July 9th 1977 Newsletter to all GBC's and Temple Presidents. The Ritvik Heresy paper is an insult and an offense to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada.

I have written a response to that paper called 'Dr. Frog Philosophy' (attached at end) and there is another response called 'The GBC Heresy' (available upon request) but I don't pass these out to the innocent guests. Don't you care about being implicated in the reactions as the local leader? Don't you think a further study and discussion would be appropriate? I hope so!

You are doing a great job with the temple with book distribution and the restaurant and so many things. But you also need to improve in certain departments. Your support of that paper being one of them. I hope that istagosthi's are performed regularly with all well behaved devotees invited. We all have ideas on how to improve our services and so many more would like to be involved with the temple and devotional service in general. I would like to give a little more advice now and that is we need more Kirtan! Srila Prabhupada wrote that if the temple has problems we should have a big Kirtan. Kirtan is our medicine! All of the Kirtans are rather short compared to the 'good old days'. I think more would join also if they got a good taste of the nectar of Kirtan rasa. Class could be rescheduled to before the greeting of the Deities and then the Kirtan could go on and those who had to leave could and those who want more nectar could stay. The evening arati is short also, and so many interested guests are sometimes rudely turned away. Can the temple room stay open later and have someone else lock it up?

Another point I would like to raise is that you should preach to the devotees to respect eachother regardless of our individual opinions. There is too much mpersonalism due to the politics. Love, trust and respect is lacking. Please excuse me for being so direct but I speak only out of duty and because I do respect you a lot. I am advising you for your and the communities benefit. My only desire is to follow Srila Prabhupada's instructions and help spread the Sankirtan Mission. I am ready to cooperate and I hope you are too.

Hoping this meets you well!
Your servant,
Gauridasa Pandita Dasa

Article Dr Frog Philosophy:

Dr. Frog Philosophy

There have been so many articles on the ritvik initiation system lately both for and against it, that it is a constant job to keep up with it all. If you look at those who are for it and at those who are against it you will find an obvious contrast. The devotees who are against it are usually ISKCON gurus; ISKCON wanna be gurus; Gaudiya Math gurus; Gaudiya Math wanna be gurus and fanatical followers of the all of the above.

The Devotees who are for the ritvik system are an ever-increasing group of sincere devotees who just want to see Srila Prabhupada's orders carried out so that we can have a reunited and expanding movement again. What could be the ulterior motive of these individuals? The possible ulterior motives for those who are against the ritvik initiation system are obvious. Profit, distinction and adoration to name a few. Plus since ISKCON has no retirement account it's a good way to secure one. The guru system has become a business in ISKCON as elsewhere. It's time to separate the two.

It's time to put Srila Prabhupada back as the one and only diksa guru in ISKCON. We all accept the fact that he is the main siksa guru in ISKCON, but we must understand also that he should be the only diksa guru in ISKCON. This will happen when the proper initiation system is put in place by the proper authority, the GBC.

So many devotees are writing against the ritvik initiation system with a poor fund of knowledge. It's kind of like the example that Srila Prabhupada used to give of the frog in the well. The frog is trying to understand how big the ocean is by comparing it with his well. Then he compares it with his throat by expanding it bigger and bigger until it explodes! This is what the critics are doing to themselves by condemning Srila Prabhupada's instructions for such a system as outlined in his July 9th 1977 Newsletter to all GBC's and Temple Presidents.

They don't understand how serious it is to condemn these instructions as the GBC themselves have done with official resolutions against the ritvik initiation system. Those who preach against it and mislead others are guilty of disobeying the orders of the spiritual master, a serious offense.

They are guilty of offending hundreds, maybe thousands of devotees, by disobeying Srila Prabhupada's instructions. They have turned a good word into a bad one. It's time to rectify this situation. The GBC must act soon. How many nice devotees have to be abused by the 'gurus' and leave the mission before it sinks in, that something is wrong in ISKCON!

Now we even have the scientist preacher getting into the debate! Does he want to be a guru too? He had one librarian who was interested in him before; but I think she got fried with his politics. He authored the paper, 'The Ritvik Heresy' where he uses a tape that has been proven to be doctored as his 'main evidence' and ignores Srila Prabhupada's written order of July 9th 1977!

Srila Prabhupada never made a policy change on a tape! He did everything in writing. At the same time on the May 28th tape he says he's appointing officiating acharyas or ritviks to initiate his disciples 'after his departure' in the beginning of the tape, before any doctoring occurs. He also says that you can be a 'regular guru' when he orders us.

Has any of the current gurus received this order? And if they have they should be a guru in their own temples. They should have the potency to inspire and expand the preaching mission as Srila Prabhupada did. For this 'scientific preacher' to preach about the initiation system is like the frog in the well trying to understand the ocean.

This is Dr. Frog Philosophy! That's the real heresy! This author has also written a piece called Officiating Acharya = Ritvik Acharya = Diksa Guru. On one hand in his Ritvik Heresy paper, he condemns the ritvik initiation system and on the other hand here he's saying the ritvik priests are equal to diksa gurus! "Things equal to the same thing are equal to one another." That's scientific! The real tittle should read Officiating Acharya = Ritvik Acharya = Deputy.

These are the terms Srila Prabhupada used.

On October 18 1977, less than a month before his departure, Srila Prabhupada said:
Hare Krsna. One Bengali gentleman has come from New York?
Tamal KG: Yes; Mr Sukamal Roy Chowdury.
Srila Prabhupada: So I have deputed some of you to initiate. Hmm?
TKG: Yes. Actually...Yes, Srila Prabhupada.
Srila Prabhupada: So I think Jayapataka can do that if he likes. I have
already deputed. Tell him.
TKG: Yes.
Srila Prabhupada: So, deputies, Jayapataka's name was there?
Bhagavan: It is already on there, Srila Prabhupada. His name was on that list.
Srila Prabhupada: So I depute him to do this at Mayapura, and you may go with him. I stop for the time being. Is that alright?
TKG: Stopped doing what, Srila Prabhupada?
Srila Prabhupada: This initiation. I have deputed the, my disciples. Is it clear or not?
Giriraja: It's clear.
Srila Prabhupada: You have got the list of names?
TKG: Yes, Srila Prabhupada.
Srila Prabhupada: And if by Krsna's grace I recover from this condition, then I shall begin again, or I may not be pressed in this condition to initiate. It is not good.
Giriraja: We will explain to him so that he will understand properly.
Srila Prabhupada: Hm? Hm?
Giriraja: I said we will explain to the Bengali gentleman just as you have
described to us, so that he'll be satisfied with this arrangement.

We need to stick to what the guru actually said and not engage in speculations and fancy word jugglery that is so common today. Srila Prabhupada never appointed diksa gurus as is alleged by so many today. He preached strongly against it. I just read another long article against the ritvik initiation system that started out saying it was short. Anyone who read it could see that it was very long. Many articles claim that the ritvik system isn't supported by guru, sastra and sadhu. Isn't Srila Prabhupada the guru? He said to do it! Whatever the bonafide guru says to his disciples is as good as sastra and there is nothing in sastra forbidding it!

Ritvik priests, or officiators, are mentioned in the sastra. In the Krsna book there are the brahmin priests and ritviks are mentioned in other parts of the Srimad Bhagavatam. It is supported by sadhus such as Sridhara Maharaja who also ordered a ritvik initiation system before he passed away. It is also supported by hundreds of current sadhus. So the ritvik system is supported by guru, sastra and sadhu and the sooner we face the Truth and act on it the better off we'll be!

I personally heard Srila Prabhupada order the ritvik initiation system for the future of ISKCON but no GBC man, (except one who didn't keep his word that there would be major changes in ISKCON), has cared to ask me about it. They ask everyone but the witnesses in this regard and that alone is suspicious. The Ritvik Heresy papers are still in the LA Temple room for the innocent public based on unscientific research, the same thing the author criticizes the materialistic scientists for, while the Truth is still hidden.

It's time to stop listening to the croaking of the frogs in the wells, who will just get eaten by the snakes of offenses, and listen to Srila Prabhupada without adding or subtracting anything. Your servant, Gauridasa Pandita Dasa

Krishna Kirtana With Guitar

PM Modi wants support for female children

Tripurari Swami / ISKCON US, "sexual revolution" agenda?

Hrdayananda's ISKCON US and Tripurari swami's position on his 'Harmonist' first of all show examples of bad journalism. There was no in-depth investigation about the validity of the USA court's decision, on which basis "homosexual marriage" was made, and what will be the criteria, and material and philosophical consequences of it. If there is any institution in the world that has often made dubious decisions, it has been the Supreme Court of the USA.

[PADA: Which has also passed laws in favor of abortion.]

Hrdayananda swami, Tripurari swami and their 'Harmonist' agenda is too eager to please conformism with modern culture. I had an impression, from long ago when I was reading their articles, that they want to show themselves as go-between the so called "Vedic world" and the post-modern Western world.

They are "the interpreters" of how modern Western culture's moral values fit into Vedic culture, the invaluable guys we all need to hear from, because all others that claim any post of authority will "only cause confusion and dissention in society." Yes, they are exclusively needed because they are uniquely "cultured, polished, and sophisticated" and they have the deepest realizations of the Vedas.

Now when the decision was made by the US Supreme Court to approve homosexual marriage, they immediately jumped in to find corresponding "facts" to support that move from the "vast opus of Vedic literature" (which "they know by heart") to show how great this decision was. The ignorant Westerners need to know how wonderful this will be for human society, and how indispensable the 'Harmonist's' leading thinkers are.

The Westerners need to realize that the US Supreme court's ideas are all related to "the same truths that once ruled all over ancient India." And therefore we all need to follow people like Hrdayananda swami and Tripurari swami to be our interpreters, educators, and prophets on these matters. And of course Krishna West is simply another attempt at merging these two cultures.

Christianity has this same issue, and it is called Judas Complex. Many of today's Churchmen suffer from it. Named after Judas Iscariot, the ex-apostle. He was not an altogether bad man, but he believed he would be the indispensible go-between negotiator for Christ, the pharisees and the government. He saw something grand in Christ, and Judas thought Christ could bring glory to Israel, thus people will side next to him in great numbers ... but if only Christ "could be a bit more cooperative with the pharisees and local rulers."

In short, Judas saw himself as Christ's vassal in the court and with the local pharisees, a man to be respected, and someone who would be in a position to offer his own blessings, for benefits in return. And now our modern day communicators are people like Hrdayananda and Tripurari swamis, who are advertising themselves to be our new go-betweens to join modern Western culture and the Vedic culture.

The motive is simple, Judas wanted to be famous and popular for being linked to Jesus. He wanted his own glory, and that is what our ISKCON US and 'Harmonist' people want, to be popular -- at the expense of allegedly presenting the truth -- however incorrect or unpleasant it may be. Judas recognised finally that Christ would not tolerate fiddling with truth whatsoever, and that he would prefer to die than compromise. And even die on the cross rather than compromise, and sit himself in the same court with the leaders of the "modern" bogus society. Jesus despised their authority, and he would not surrender to false flattery.

And that is the crux of this issue, should we conform to modern society, just to flatter false religious and political authorities? Judas died in agony understanding that his imaginary career as a deal maker is over, and that he was now despised by the Pharisees who would never allow a go-between personality like him. The Pharisees simply wanted to be rulers themselves, they did not want or need Judas. And Judas was eventually despised by the true followers of Christ, who will rather die like their master than compromise the truth. That some people want us to compromise with mundane society now is simply another version of the Judas syndrome.

People who want to be popular themselves will weigh in with the popular opinion of modern society. They carefully weigh which direction the circumstances are going, to see which side will outweigh, and then they join the majority opinion. Vox populi. Then they find ways to be on the winning side as soon as possible, adding the extra weight of their fingers to move the scale further, and appear as populist "leaders in new paradigm".

Which is perhaps why Srila Prabhupada says bogus religious reformers are cast into hell. They transform the original religion into a mundane compromised package. Which is one reason Srila Prabhupada was alarmed that the priests were performing gay marriage, because this would institutionalize the populist "sexual liberation" agenda.

Swami Tripurari has been on the forefront of what he calls homosexual dignity for decades, giving initiation to many gay / lesbian persons who were considered as outcasts in other organizations. Yet the Swami is not telling us anything new. He has simply re-packaged the same form of sexual freedom and "Americanism" that has been exported throughout globe since the hippie revolution.

He is simply re-packaging and re-selling the same identical product of the 1960s, the sexual liberation movement, and calling that Vedic culture. Which is is perhaps why Srila Prabhupada says yogis and swamis who preach this sexual liberation idea will dwell in hell, because they are spreading fallen and conditioned behavior to others instead of saving people from it.

As we see from their writings, neither of these Swamis nor their team of journalists have properly analysed the background of the entire sexual freedom issue, and its impact on society. For example, that the sexual revolution is simply another form of political control. Aldous Huxley wrote earlier in 1946, "as political and economic freedom diminishes, sexual freedom tends to compensate by increasing." In other words, as the mass of people are being more and more manipulated by deviant political and religious leaders from the mundane society, these sexual revolution agendas keep the masses busy in side issues and foolishness, so they will not be able to think of the real problems and issues that affect them.

"Sexual freedom" is merely another form of mind control rhetoric, and its used to engineer a system of covert political and social control; to allow the mass of people to drown in their own vices, and then they will mindlessly accept many masters, which they will serve without question. And these bogus priests and swamis are the hand maidens of this agenda.

And as Krishna Himself says in the Gita, their uncontrolled passions will dull and impede their intellect. Thus they will be too overwhelmed with the mode of passion, and too busy with lusty behavior, to see the real issues that are bringing them and their society down: such as -- the looting of public wealth, pension funds, more money spent on wars than ever before, lower and lower wages, total media control, enormous national debt, and never mind all the other problems like extreme global weather, rampant sexual diseases, abortions, pollution, and many other issues that the mass of people need to remain asleep over, for political control reasons.

Yet these Swamis are not factory workers, and have no families to raise, so why would they look for the real problems? Thus as one of the fore-bearers of the hippie revolution himself, people like Swami Tripurari still believe in the same things that made him "run off and be free" in the 1960s.

While on the other hand, to his teacher Srila Prabhupada, sexual acts are deep moral issues which both influence and compromise one's spirituality. The centre of devotion of Vaishnavas is the conjugal love of Radha and Krishna, and that is to be understood and meditated upon through homosexual inclination? No wonder Srila Prabhupada says false swamis are destined for hell, they are increasing the bondage of the human society and not liberating the masses from bonadage. Its very alarming that the entire ISKCON GBC now allows this agenda using the name of ISKCON, that means they are all compromised with this agenda.

Yet to Hrdayananda and Swami Tripurari types, and many similar bogus swamis from India, it is all good. So they are the new needed negotiators. The go-betweens. "The Harmonists", they who find all the impossible ways to make impossible connections between opposites. Only problem is that they do not harmonise two truths, but merge the truth with a lie, and that is why their written articles in question fail.

Same problem is there with many Churchmen. They also, from 1960s onwards, assisted the "freedom" movements around the world, new freedom and openness for free flow of ideas and capital, deregulation of this and that "to give us even more freedom." All "made possible by the invisible hand of the Holy Ghost". Then some decades later, all sorts of scandals erupted in Church: from sexual abuses to money stealing, money laundering, change of teaching, experiments with sacraments and change of doctrine. "Enabled by the Holy Ghost"? What a joke!

[PADA: Right, for example the conservative "family values" people almost all voted for the USA to have free trade with China, which shifted the USA economy over to China. This has made giant ghettos out of places like Chicago. China was also well known at the time to be the biggest producer of abortions on the planet. So, in order to make money for their big corporations, these so-called Christians compromised the USA with the communists. And now we have Chinese nukes pointed at our heads, all financed by the "Christian family values" agenda. We now have the freedom to go to Walmart and buy Chinese goods, and support the biggest abortion provider on the planet. They compromised ....]

In light of these latest changes in the matters of state and its political control (but advertised "as liberation of marriage") some Churchmen openly propose Church should also reconsider *everything*, as "most likely, some apostles were gays too". In light of that, can we expect soon to be revealed that gays are welcome to Krishna Consciousness, approved by these Swamis, as it is likely that "some sakhas might have been similarly inclined too"?

Things are that bad, really. There is no role-model, no direct reference in relevant scripture that would allow such a position which either Harmonist, or the revolutionary parts of the Church would make us believe they exist. It has all become one big nonsense and it must be oppressed. We are losing sanity.

[PADA: Well said. The sexual revolution increased the bondage of the society, and these swamis are continuing that agenda because they are increasing the problem. This is what Srila Prabhupada did not want, for swamis to be increasing the illusion of the masses. ys pd]

Is Bhakti Vikas Swami a "Monitor Guru"?

Mahesh Raja says: “1)The Madhyama and Kanistha CAN accept disciples. BUT it is NOT recommended.” An example of this is given in EJTOP:

13. He must not create unlimited disciples. This means that a candidate who has successfully reached up to the 12th stage can also become spiritual master himself just a student becomes the monitor in the class with limited number of disciples. (EJTOP original Indian ed.)

Classroom monitor was a stop-gap system used in British and Indian schools to maintain classroom functions in the absence of the teacher. The monitor was a responsible pupil respected both by the teacher and fellow pupils who would be capable of helping students with some difficulties they may have in the teachers absence. It’s obviously not recommended on a permanent basis due to the lack of qualification & experience of the monitor student.

[PADA: A classroom monitor might take the post of the professor for some limited purposes, but he does not get the same seat, salary and position of respect as the professor? He is still a student who is teaching to his capacity. This is similar to the ritvik idea, the ritvik is a representative, and is not the actual parampara acharya, he is an agent acting on behalf of the acharya. Of course it has been the GBC's gurus who are the people who need monitoring because they often cannot even stick to the basic principles, so they are not even ready to be monitors.]

Ironically Rocana’s ally Bhakti Vikas Swami supported this position in a letter to VVR in 1990:

BVKS: “Monitor guru” seems to be the most suitable position for me — an older student guiding a younger one, who may well surpass the monitor as he grows older but will always remain faithful and respectful to him; the teacher of both is the same. ‘Nikunja-yuno’ etc. in relation to me? Not even a joke; it’s ridiculous. Do I have to pretend to have attained manjari-hood? What are those initiated by our Godbrothers supposed to think when they sing ‘nikunja-yuno and ‘romanca kampa’, etc. when the guru can’t even get up for mangala-arati? These matters need careful looking into.”

http://www.iskconirm.com/docs/webpages/BVKSerror.htm

IRM comments:

“BVKS ridiculed the idea of himself becoming a GBC diksa guru. Instead he states that he is at best only a “monitor guru”, whose is simply an elder student guiding an younger one, with both of them having the same teacher, and the younger student may well surpass the monitor guru with time.

Rather the idea of being a guru like all the other GBC Diksa gurus, whose disciples sing “Nikunja-yuno and romanca kampa” to them every morning at Mangal Arati, was not “even a joke”, but “ridiculous”. Yet this is exactly the “ridiculous” position BVKS is now agreeing with, fully supporting the disciples singing these prayers to him and the other ISKCON GBC gurus every morning during Mangal Arati, as they claim to be not “monitor gurus” but successor diksa gurus to Srila Prabhupada in the parampara. So the only “matter” that needs “careful looking into” is why, by his own estimation, BVKS is such a contradictory hypocritical ridiculous joke!”

Sudarsana Das: To the blind men, the ”one eyed” man is king!

Surya das: George writes: “For example both Rocana dasa and I accept Srila Prabhupada's assurance that a lower and middle level devotee can initiate”.

Now let’s look at what Srila Prabhupada actually says:

Firstly Srila Prabhupada provides us with evidence from sadhu Rupa Goswami that we need to discriminate in our selection of guru, “In this verse Srila Rupa Gosvami advises the devotee to be intelligent enough to distinguish between the kanistha-adhikari, madhyama-adhikari and uttama-adhikari”.

Then he gives clear warning of the ‘uttama-imitation’ guru mentality we’ve seen too much of already in Iskcon. “The devotee should also know his own position and should not try to imitate a devotee situated on a higher platform”.

Prabhupada then points out the result of accepting someone less than qualified, stating that you CANNOT advance very well toward the ultimate goal of life under such a persons “insufficient guidance”. Hardly an ‘assurance’ (noun 1. a positive declaration intended to give confidence; a promise.)

By no stretch of the imagination can I extract from his purport that Srila Prabhupada is giving any assurance, blessing, instruction, guidance or otherwise that his Iskcon should become populated with ‘insufficient guides who cannot help disciples advance very well toward the ultimate goal of life’. That would be inconsistent with everything His Divine Grace stood for, and worked so hard to establish. Prabhupada’s rallying cry for us to take up spiritual life has always been, “Back home, back to Godhead”, (since 1944 in fact).

So why would HDG desire a system of impure guru’s who he already tells us will impede that progress? It makes no sense. Actually NOWHERE does Prabhupada push such a system,… this was all introduced after his physical departure by his students left to their own devices.

Finally in the very last line the loyal follower of Srila Prabhupada receives the founder Acarya’s clear, definitive instruction on what he expects of both guru and disciple, “Therefore a disciple should be careful to accept an uttama-adhikari as a spiritual master” -- Nectar of Instruction 5 pp.

Even though this ‘instruction’ is there in black and white as our reference for the next 10,000 years these low/mid guru proponents would have us believe Prabhupada wants Iskcon filled with kaniṣṭha and madhyama guru’s.

NB: Dictionary- verb dis·tort

: to change the natural, normal, or original shape, appearance, or sound of (something) in a way that is usually not attractive or pleasing

: to change (something) so that it is no longer true or accurate

Balaram das: Yes Surya prabhu, the operative word in the NOI purport you quoted is THEREFORE!
Chambers 20th Century Dictionary “therefore = for that reason” Simple logic would read…

I have mentioned several negatives in a process, THEREFORE (for that reason) don’t do it. Now I give you the positive alternative, ‘accept an uttama-adhikari as a spiritual master.’ How clear did His Divine Grace have to make it! As confirmed by all the bona fide Vaisnava acaryas. So many bogus ‘munis’, so many bogus conclusions by the duratmas! So for the big cheaters, there is always an enthusiastic audience of cheated to exploit!

Surya das: Thanks Balarama prabhu.

Mahesh Raja: Sudarsana Das Vanacari : To the blind men, the ”one eyed” man is king! More EXACT is -- blind leading the blind. HOW is it that he APPEARED? The man is a CONDITIONED soul:

http://www.bvks.com/about/his_holiness/biography/

It says, “His Holiness Bhakti Vikasa Swami appeared in this world in 1957 in England. He joined the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in London in 1975 and was initiated in that year with the name Ilapati dasa…”

72-12-14. Letter: Tusta Krsna -- As for your next question, can only a few pure devotees deliver others, anyone, if he is a pure devotee he can deliver others, he can become spiritual master. But unless he on that platform he should not attempt it. THEN BOTH OF THEM WILL TO GO TO HELL, LIKE BLIND MEN LEADING THE BLIND.

SB 6.7.14 Indra Offends His Spiritual Master, Brhaspati.
A stone boat would be unable to float and would sink in the water with its passengers. SIMILARLY, THOSE WHO MISLEAD PEOPLE GO TO HELL, AND THEIR FOLLOWERS GO WITH THEM.

Note: Srila Prabhupada used to add title “Swami” to the sannyasi’s former names. These people in ISKCON they CHANGE their former names like above from Illapati to Bhakti Vikasa:

SB 1.6.13 P Conversation Between Narada and Vyasadeva -- It is the duty of a mendicant (parivrajakacarya) to experience all varieties of God’s creation by traveling alone through all forests, hills, towns, villages, etc., to gain faith in God and strength of mind as well as to enlighten the inhabitants with the message of God.

A sannyasi is duty-bound to take all these risks without fear, and the most typical sannyasi of the present age is Lord Caitanya, who traveled in the same manner through the central Indian jungles, enlightening even the tigers, bears, snakes, deer, elephants and many other jungle animals. IN THIS AGE OF KALI, SANNYASA IS FORBIDDEN FOR ORDINARY MEN. ONE WHO CHANGES HIS DRESS TO MAKE PROPAGANDA IS A DIFFERENT MAN FROM THE ORIGINAL IDEAL SANNYASI.

One should, however, take the vow to stop social intercourse completely and devote life exclusively to the service of the Lord. The change of dress is only a formality. Lord Caitanya did not accept the name of a sannyasi, AND IN THIS AGE OF KALI THE SO-CALLED SANNYASIS SHOULD NOT CHANGE THEIR FORMER NAMES, FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF LORD CAITANYA.

[PADA: Bhakti vikas swami has supported the GBC's position that acharyas are often debauchees, sexual predators and deviants, he clearly has no idea what is an acharya. ys pd]

Radha Krishna Song (Muripala Vannela Radha)

Children's Rathayatra 2015 (Sofia)

Military Formations of the Mahabharata

Today is Padmini Ekadasi

Sri Suta Goswami said, “Yudhishthira Maharaja said, Oh Janardana, what is the name of the Ekadasi that occurs during the light fortnight (shukla paksha) of the extra, leap year month? How does one observe it properly? Please narrate all these to me.’

“The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Sri Krishna, replied, ‘Oh Pandava, the meritorious Ekadasi that occurs during the light fortnight of the extra month of leap-year is called Padminī Ekādaśī. It is very auspicious. The fortunate soul who observes it with great determination and faith will return to My Personal Abode. This extra-month Ekadasi is as powerful as I am. in nullifying sins. Even four-headed Lord Brahma cannot glorify it sufficiently. Long ago Lord Brahma told Narada about this liberating, sin-removing Ekadasi.’

Lotus-eyed Lord Krishna became very pleased by the enquiry of Yudhishthira and spoke to him the following pleasing words: ‘Oh king, please listen carefully as I narrate to you the process of fasting on Padminī Ekādaśī, which is rarely done even by great sages. “‘One should begin his fast on the Dashami, the day before Ekadasi, by not eating any Urad dahl, chickpeas, spinach, honey, or sea salt, and also by not dining in homes of others or off bell-metal plates.

These eight things should be avoided. One should eat only once on the Dashami, sleep on the ground, and remain celibate. On Ekadasi the devotee should rise early in the morning but should not brush his teeth. Then he should thoroughly bathe – in a place of pilgrimage, if possible.

While chanting sacred hymns from the Vedas, he should smear his body with cow dung mixed with clay, sesame-seed paste, kusha grass, and the powder of Amalaki fruits. Then the devotee should take another thorough bath, after which he should chant the following prayers: "Oh sacred clay, you have been created by Lord Brahma, purified by Kashyapa Muni, and lifted by Lord Krishna in His form as Varaha, the boar incarnation. Oh clay, please purify my head, eyes, and other limbs. Oh clay, I offer my obeisances unto you. Kindly purify me so I may worship the Supreme Lord, Sri Hari.

“Oh cow-dung, you posses medicinal and antiseptic qualities because you have come directly from the stomach of our universal mother, the cow. You can purify the entire planet Earth. Please accept my humble obeisances and purify me.

Oh Amalaki fruits, please accept my humble obeisances. You have taken your birth from the saliva of Lord Brahma, and thus by your very presence the entire planet is purified. Kindly cleanse and purify my bodily limbs.

Oh Supreme Lord Vishnu, Oh God of the gods, Oh Master of the universe, Oh Holder of the conch, disc, club, and lotus, please allow me to bathe in all the Holy places of pilgrimage.”

Reciting these excellent prayers, chanting mantras to Lord Varuna, and meditating on all the places of pilgrimage located on the banks of the Ganges, one should bathe in whatever body of water is at hand. Then, Oh Yudhishthira, the devotee should rub his body, thus purifying his mouth, back, chest, arms, and waist as a prelude to worshiping the Supreme Lord, who wears brilliant yellow garments and gives pleasure to all creatures. By so doing, the devotee will destroy all his sins. Afterwards, he should chant the sacred Gayatri mantra, offer oblations to his forefathers, and then enter a Vishnu temple to worship Lord Narayana, the husband of the Goddess of Fortune, Laxmi-Devi.

If possible, the devotee should then fashion Deities of Sri Sri Radha and Krishna or Shiva and Parvati out of gold and offer them nice devotional worship. He should fill a copper or clay pot with pure water mixed with scents, and then he should cover the pot with a cloth lid and a gold or silver lid, in this way preparing an Asana upon which the Radha-Krishna or Shiva-Parvati murthis may sit for worship.

According to capacity, the devotee should then worship these murtis with fragrant incense, a bright ghee lamp, and sandalwood paste along with camphor, musk, kumkum, and other scents, as well as selected aromatic flowers like white lotuses and other seasonal blooms, and also very nicely prepared foods. On this special Ekadasi the devotees should dance and sing ecstatically before the Deity.

He should avoid prajalpa (talking unnecessarily of ordinary, mundane conversational topics) at all costs and should not talk to or touch low-born persons (untrained persons habituated to low acts) or a woman in her menstrual period, or others so absorbed. On this day he should be especially careful to speak the truth and certainly not criticize anyone before the Deity of Lord Vishnu, the brahmins, or the spiritual master.

Rather, with other devotees he should be absorbed in listening to Vaishnavas read the glories of Lord Vishnu from the Puranas. One should not drink or even touch water to his lips on this Ekadasi, and one who is unable to perform this austerity should drink only water or milk. Otherwise, the fast is considered broken. One should remain awake that Ekadasi night, singing and playing musical instruments for the transcendental pleasure of the Supreme Person.

During the first quarter of the Ekadasi night the devotee should offer some coconut kernel/pulp to his worshipful Deity (Isthadeva), during the second part he should offer soothing bel/bael fruit, during the third part an orange, and as the night draws to a close some betel nut. Remaining awake during the first part of the Ekadasi night bestows on the devotee/sadhaka the same merit as that gained by performing the Agnistoma-yajna.

Staying awake during the second part of the night bestows the same merit as that gained by performing a Vajapeya-yajna. Stay awake during the third part gives one the same merit as that attained by performing an Ashvamedha-yajna. And one who remains awake throughout the night receives all of the above mentioned merit, as well as the grand merit of having performed a Rajasurya-yajna.

Thus there is no better fasting day in the year than Padmini Ekadasi. Nothing can compare to it as a giver of merit, whether it be a fire sacrifice, knowledge, education, or austerity. Indeed, whoever observes this sacred Ekadasi fast receives all the merit attained by bathing in all the places of pilgrimage in the world.

After remaining awake throughout the night, the devotee should bathe at sunrise and then worship Me nicely. He should then feed a qualified brahmin and respectfully give him the Deity of Lord Keshava and the pot filled with pure scented water. This gift will guarantee the devotee success in this life and liberation in the hereafter.

‘Oh sinless Yudhishthira, as you have requested, I have described the rules and regulations, as well as the benefits, regarding the Ekadasi that occurs during the light fortnight of the extra, leap-year month. Fasting on this Padmini day bestows merit equal to that gained by fasting on all other Ekadasis. The Ekadasi that occurs during the dark part of the extra month, which is known as Parama Ekādaśī, is as powerful at removing sin as this one, Padmini. Now please listen to Me carefully as I narrate to you a fascinating account connected with this sacred day. Pulastya Muni once recited this history to Naradji.

Pulastya Muni once had occasion to rescue the ten headed demon Ravana from the prison of Kartavirya Arjuna, and upon hearing of this event Narada Muni asked his friend, “Oh greatest of sages, since this Ravana defeated all the demigods, including Lord Indradev, how could Kartavirya Arjuna defeat Ravana, who was so skilled in battle?”

Pulastya Muni replied, “Oh great Narada, during the Treta yuga, Kartavirya (Kartavirya Arjuna’s father) took birth in the Haihaya dynasty. His capital city was Mahishmati, and he had one thousand Queens, whom he loved very dearly. None of them, however, was able to give him the son he wanted so badly. He performed sacrifices and worshipped the devas (demigods) and forefathers (pitris), but due to the curse of some sage he was unable to beget a son – and without a son, a king cannot enjoy his kingdom, just as a hungry man can never really enjoy his senses.

King Kartavirya carefully considered his plight and then decided to perform severe austerities to achieve his goal. Thus he donned a loincloth made of bark, grew matted locks, and turned over the reins of his kingdom to his ministers. One of his queens, Padmini – who was born in the Ikshvaku dynasty, who was the best of all women, and who was the daughter of King Harishchandra – saw the king leaving. She felt that, since she was a chaste wife, her duty was to follow in the footsteps of her beloved husband. Removing all the regal ornaments from her beautiful body and donning but one piece of cloth, she thus followed her husband into the forest.

At last Kartavirya reached the summit of Mount Gandhamadana, where he performed severe austerities and penances for ten thousand years, meditating and praying to Lord Gadadhara, who wields a club. But still he did not get a son. Seeing her dear husband waste away to mere skin and bone, Padmini thought of a solution to the problem.

She went to the chaste Anasuya. With great reverence, Padmini said, ‘Oh great lady, my dear husband, Kartavirya, has been performing austerities for the last ten thousand years, but Lord Krishna (Keshava), who alone can remove one’s past sins and present difficulties, has not yet become pleased with him. Oh most fortunate one, please tell me a fast day we can observe and thus please the Supreme Lord with our devotion, so much so that He will bless me with a nice son who will later rule the world as emperor.

Upon hearing the appealing words of Padmini, who was very chaste and deeply devoted to her husband, the great Anasuya replied to her in a very cheerful mood: ‘Oh beautiful, lotus-eyed lady, usually there are twelve months in a year, but after every thirty-two months an extra month is added, and the two Ekadasis that occur during this month are called Padmini Ekadasi and Parama Ekadasi. They fall on the Dvadasis of the light and dark part of the month, respectively. You should fast on these days and remain awake throughout the night. If you do so, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Sri Hari, will bless you with a son.’

Oh Narada, in this way Anasuya, the daughter of the sage Kardama Muni, explained the potency of these special Ekadasis. Hearing this, Padmini faithfully followed the instructions to fulfill her desire for a son. Padmini fasted completely, even from water, and remained awake all night, chanting the glories of God and dancing in ecstasy. Lord Keshava thus became most pleased with her devotion and appeared before her, riding on the back of the great Garuda. The Lord said, ‘Oh beautiful one, you have greatly pleased Me by fasting on the special Ekadasi of the extra month of Purushottama. Please ask Me for a benediction.’

Hearing these sublime words from the Overseer of the entire universe, Padmini offered the Supreme Lord devotional prayers and asked Him for the boon her husband desired. Lord Keshava (Krishna) was moved to reply, ‘Oh gentle lady, I am very happy with you, for there is no month dearer to Me than this, and the Ekadasis that occur during this month are the most dear to Me of all Ekadasis. You have followed My devotee Anasuya’s instructions perfectly, and therefore I shall do what will please you. You and your husband will have the desired son that you wish.’

The Lord, who removes the distress of the world, then spoke to King Kartavirya: ‘Oh King, please ask of Me any boon that will fulfill your heart’s desire, for your dear wife has pleased Me greatly with her devotional fasting. The king was very happy to hear this. Naturally he asked for the son he had desired for so long: ‘Oh Master of the universe, Oh Killer of the Madhu-demon, kindly grant me a son who will never be conquered by the demigods, human beings, snakes, demons, or hobgoblins, but whom only You can defeat.’ The Supreme Lord immediately replied, ‘So be it!’ and disappeared.

The king became so very pleased with his wife and returned to his palace in her company.

Padmini soon became pregnant, and the mighty-armed Kartavirya Arjuna appeared as her son. He was the mightiest person in all the three worlds, and thus even the ten-headed Ravana could not defeat him in battle. Except for Lord Narayana, who holds a club, a disc, and other symbols in His hands no one could overcome him. By the merit that resulted from his mother’s strict and faithful observance of Padminī Ekādaśī, he could defeat even the dreaded Ravana. This is not at all surprising, Oh Naradji, for Kartavirya Arjuna was the fulfillment of the benediction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.” With these words, Pulastya Muni departed.’

“The Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna, concluded, ‘Oh sinless Yudhishthira, as you have enquired from Me, I have explained to you the power of this special Ekadasi. Oh best of kings, whoever observes this fast will surely attain to My personal abode. And similarly, if you want all your desires fulfilled, you should do likewise.’

Hearing these words from the mouth of his beloved Keshava, Dharmaraja (Yudhishthira) became filled with joy, and when the time came he faithfully observed Padmini Ekadasi. Suta Goswami concluded, “Oh sage Saunaka, I have explained to you all about this meritorious Ekadasi. Anyone who devotedly fasts on the Ekadasis that occur during the extra, leap-year month, carefully following all the rules, becomes glorious and happily goes back to Godhead. And one who merely hears or reads about these Ekadasis will also obtain great merit and ultimately enter the abode of Lord Sri Hari.

Thus ends the narration of the glories of Padminī Ekādaśī. the Ekadasi that occurs during the light fortnight of the extra, leap-year month of Purushottama, from the Skanda Purana.

Miley Cyrus Voted Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA

http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/daily-noise/6612867/miley-cyrus-peta-sexiest-vegetarian

[PADA: She, and many of her associates, are part of a larger group of celebrities who are promoting the vegetarian diet. She is doing a lot more preaching about this issue than a lot of the devotees. As Srila Prabhupada says many, many times, people who are killing and eating animals will be blocked from higher spiritual realizations, never mind its also cruel to these animals. ys pd]

Vanimedia Program Expands

Torben / Ajit Krishna / Kailash Chandra das

Torben Nielsen prabhu: Kailasa Candra prabhu is a great preacher and a bold brahmana. You do not know what you are talking about. And you are spreading misconceptions.

[PADA: Nope, Kailash is living in the desert in fear California will fall into the ocean, he is afraid of his own shadow. A brahmana is a person who is fearless, not a person who is hiding in the desert trying to avoid his inevitable death.

Ajit Krishna prabhu

Torben and Ajit Krishna (Denmark) are saying the way forward now is to follow in the footsteps of their new spiritual authority, Kailash Chandra das. This is the same person who first of all told us in the early 1980s that according to his "jyotish astrology," California is going to fall into the Ocean in two weeks, and we all need to move to Texas.

Kansas is going to be the new coastline! Fine except, Srila Prabhupada told us that California is not going to fall into the ocean? Why don't Ajit and Torben have faith in the words of the acharya? Apart from that, the Kailash / Ajit / Torben program has been proven wrong on all accounts since, California is still here!

Kailash Chandra das: Why do these guys always go for the:
Moab Utah big beard / mountain man appearance?

Why do Ajit and Torben support a person who is a speculative astrologer at best, and he is spreading fear mongering among the Vaishnava community trying to create an artificial panic? A few families who followed Kailash to the mid-West went broke and had to come back to California. They were almost made homeless due to financial losses, he exploited them and made their families lives topsy turvy. OK, he apparently took their money and ran.

They basically went bankrupt. Why are Torben and Ajit still promoting these GBC style exploiters of the Vaishnavas? Why don't they know that the VEDAS say a bogus astrologer is destined to go to a bad future because -- he causes disturbances -- just like their bogus jyotish mentor Kailash is doing all the time! If Kailash could predict the future, he already could have made millions by predicting the stock market. He is a giant bluffer.

Anyway, this is not what Srila Prabhupada wanted, that some bogus jyotish's would be telling the Vaishnavas they all have to give up their living situations and immediately move away to the mid-West since -- the entire continent is sinking? Why do Torben and Ajit think this is the right person for all of us to follow? Harikesha was another nut job person who was always giving similar bogus predictions, and we are told he lost tons of money buying gold when the price went down. Why are some sectors of people always attracted to these bogus seers of the future, especially when these "predictions" usually end up going so far off the mark?

Kailash says "we need to go back to living in ISKCON's basics." Fine. Then he says, we need to totally dismantle the basics, and stop initiating people -- so there will be no more cooks or poojaris? That means -- he has no plan to conduct even the ABC basics? Then he says, we need to stop making temples, preaching programs and devotees, and instead move to the desert for who knows how long, while waiting for the giant Tsunami he falsely predicted -- to take out the West Coast. Why? California's sinking into the ocean is something he maybe once saw in a disaster movie, and this is his source of absolute truth? Even children know, movie material is not real life material.

Worse! Why should we all live in fear in the desert's Moab Utah waiting for California to sink into the ocean -- at all? What kind of life is this anyway, being fearful of death for decades? This is bodily identification, we need to move away from the entire West coast -- due to fear of death? Where does Srila Prabhupada discuss that we need to hide in the desert for decades in fear for our bodies? Ok, that means these people forgot the basics, we are not these bodies ...

When the Berkeley / Mt. Kailash farm was sold off, Kailash drove off in a big truck with a huge cow trailer behind, taking with him half the farm sale's money and half of the cows. He said he would drive his half of the cows to TEXAS. Ok he apparently NOW lives in an apartment in Moab Utah, thus begging the question, where are all our Berkeley farm cows now?

Last known sighting of our Mt. Kailash Cows was in similar trailer, with Kailash at the wheel of the truck. Cows were never to be seen again!

Most people assume that Kailash ditched the cows and he used the COW's money for himself, or worse, that the cows are not even living anymore. Is there any photographic evidence of these cows living at the present time? I can show the photo of his alleged current cows to the guys who took the other half of the cows, and ask them if these are the same ones? We have asked for proof of Kailash's alleged cow program for years, and heard nothing but crickets in response.

We have seen no photos or any other evidence of any cow protection program that is currently being run and managed by Kailash, or has been run by him for the past decade or more? What many devotees here in Berkeley say, he is a cattle rustler / cow kidnapper. Why are Ajit and Torben promoting the person known locally as cattle rustler pada? Why won't Ajit and Torben explain where their shiksha guru stuck our temple's cows? Are they saying these cows just disappeared, and the money to maintain these cows also just disappeared? Or is it not more likely that their hero sold the cows commercially in Texas, if they even made it that far, which seems the most likely explanation?

Kailash also lives EXCLUSIVELY among and with the Christian ritviks in Moab, and he is part of their society EXCLUSIVELY. He does not EVER associate with ours or other's Vaishnava communities, at least we never hear about that, but instead he associates exclusively with the local Christian ritviks, full time all the time. There are no Vaishnavas or temples in Moab, its a Bible belt Christian town. OK its where the big wheel jeep rock driving contest takes place.

He has no public preaching programs, no book printing, no book distribution, no harinama, no program to make new devotees etc. We, on the other hand, have at least some temples and many nice new young couples with little kids coming to our Sunnyvale program. In sum, there is at least some life to our program. The good news is that Kailash now looks exactly like a good Christian Moab mountain man, he fits right in there! Moab is a Biblical name?

Kailash says that the GBC are wrong, the ritviks are wrong, and so therefore -- we should all just start moving into the desert, give up all Vaishnava associations, and surrender to living in the Christian ritviks program. Why do Ajit and Torben want everyone to follow Kailash, and move to the Bible belt and forget any sort of Vaishnava association, and stop all of our current programs?

Kailash also says we no longer need initiations because we should not give any, but Srila Prabhupada says only initiated people can cook and do deity worship. Why does Kailash want all the cooking and deity worship to stop? Oh, I almost forgot, he wants us to move to the Bible belt and forget about all these programs established by the acharya!

Rocana is basically the same way, he does not have any public preaching programs, he avoids our programs, and he is against having new people getting initiated to do the deity pooja. Whereas, we have a nice and growing program in Vancouver, but Rocana avoids our program, and he just sits at home writing about how awful our program is, while he is not making a better one himself.

Anyway, sorry, we are not going to run away to Moab to live with cattle rustler pada, waiting for the ocean to swallow California! Sorry. Hee hee. The good news is that Kailash's program is just as living dead as he is, no one is going to jump in their car to move to Moab and sit in the middle of a desert dust storm, its just not attracting anyone, ok except Torben and Ajit. Kailash's program also rustled his one and only follower from  here, he stole one of the Berkeley devotees to be his funding servant. Anyway, we are just asking how this is the way forward? ys pd

Thanks Torben: No, I am quoting you and Ajit? You both said that neophyte kanisthas can be diksha gurus. The GBC, the Harikesha party, and now you and Ajit are ALL saying the same thing, kanisthas can be diksha gurus (and absorb sins like Jesus). OK Kanisthas can be diksha gurus, have their feet washed like Jesus, have bhogha offered to them, that is what you are both saying. That is also what the GBC has been saying!

I am asking you now why you are saying that? And if you don't support that, why did you say your did? The diksha guru is the person who absorbs the sins, so you are saying kanisthas can -- be like Jesus? What is the difference between you and the GBC? Rocana is still saying the same thing, the diksha guru shall be voted in by 2/3 show of hands votes, and he will be removed if he deviates, that means he is still saying the diksha guru is a kanistha who often deviates. Why don't you folks know the parampara guru is a person who does not deviate? ys pd

Kurma Rupa Leaves His Body 06/28/15

UPDATE: 06/28/15 -- His Grace Kurma Rupa prabhu – disciple of His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, left his body at 8.43am this morning 28th of June 2015 in Sri Vrndavan Dham in the holy month of Purusottama on the day of holy Ekadasi – May Srila Prabhupada, Lord Sri Krsna and Srimate Radharani please bless him and take care of him. He will be missed by all his dear friends, well wishers and of course his beloved cows.

Thank you all for all your prayers and well wishes that you showered upon him… He was very blessed. Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada – Prabhupada Vision

===============================================

Please add your prayers for HG Kurma Rupa Prabhu, who is battling stage 4 stomach cancer. We can follow the example of Srila Prabhupada, who absolutely preferred the holy name and prayer, over hospital treatment.

============

Kurma Rupa prabhu’s recent health concerns have been diagnosed as cancer. He was recently given 3 to 6 months to live so he has returned to his home in Vrindavan.

However, since returning his condition has rapidly deteriorated so much so that his Doctor has given him maybe 2 to 3 days to live. He is weak and at present is not experiencing much pain but his condition is rapidly deteriorating so please pray for him.

[PADA: So many ISKCON devotees have already departed like Mula Prakrti dasi, Kulashekhara das, Aindra das and many others, and a fresh wave have departed recently like Brahmananda das and others, and a number are near that stage -- of departing soon.

Oddly, while devotees like Brahmananda, Kurma Rupa, Kulashekhara etc. are being advised to stay away from hospitals, meanwhile the GBC's gurus appear to be going to "the best (and most expensive) hospitals and doctors" for their health needs.

Anyway! We wish those who tried to serve sincerely well, and hope they may eventually move on to better situations, where they can resume serving Krishna. We even wish our God brothers who chose not to serve, but to exploit, that hopefully they will learn they are on the wrong path soon -- and come back to their position as eternal favorable servants of Krishna.

As Aindra said, there are many devotees who wanted to do more service but "the powers that be" would not allow that. Thus, we hope that in their new bodies and new situations, the "powers that be" will be more positive towards Krishna's service; And as such, they will have a much more favorable condition for Krishna seva.

As for me personally, I have to thank a lot of people for making this world so miserable, I seem to have lost much of my attachment for it. And this has sort of forced me to be attracted to Krishna instead. Danke all! ys pd]

JAS "cringes" -- Hearing Srila Prabhupada's pranams?

[PADA: Jayadvaita Swami (JAS) says -- "I always cringe when I hear some of my God brothers disciples begin the chanting with Srila Prabhupada's mantra."

This section starts around 40 minutes in. Wasn't the policy of offering the GBC's guru's pranam mantras in ISKCON's kirtanas stopped -- at least in most of ISKCON? Aren't some of these gurus admitting they cannot absorb sins because they are not qualified? Has there not been a giant trail of burnt out and broken down "acharyas" in the wake of Jayadvaita's living guru program, which sort of looks like the aftermath of an oil tanker explosion?

Aren't some of these GBC gurus admitting -- our real shelter is Srila Prabhupada anyway? Aren't many of these GBC gurus getting sick and / or falling down because they are imitating the acharyas, which is forbidden? After Jayadvaita pushed folks like Jayapataka onto the Vyasasana seat, apparently claiming that JPS ilk can act as equals to Jesus -- and thus to be able to absorb the sins of thousands of people, didn't this nearly kill Jayapataka by taking sins he is not qualified to absorb?

Why is Jayadvaita swami still saying that the GBC's gurus, whom he admits are often falling down (ok since most of them have fallen) -- are still to be considered as parampara members who should have pranam mantras? Why is Jayadvaita swami mixing pranam mantras with people whom he admits, are prone to failure because they are still conditioned souls?

Why does Jayadvaita swami cringe when he hears the name of the pure devotee being sung, but he apparently feels ecstatic when he hears the names of the GBC's sexual predator guru lineage being sung? And why is ISKCON Desire tree and others promoting this alleged seminar? Some of our friends in Alachua say that Jayadvaita also cringes when the japa tape is on at the temple, he tells people to turn it down.

Doesn't Jayadvaita swami himself admit that his "gurus" are often falling into illicit sex, and as such, why is he mixing pranam mantras with this lot? Anyway, we could go on here forever, but there is something wrong with a person who cringes when he hears the name of his guru being sung, but he is happy to hear the names of the people who are voted into to an illicit sex guru program being sung, plain and simple.

The good news is -- this means, more and more people are SPONTANEOUSLY chanting Srila Prabhupada's name more and more, thus we are winning by default. An official ISKCON temple also just got rid of all of Jayadvaita's changed Gitas, we are making progress here! Yes, as soon as someone glorifies the pure devotees and not various illicit sex padas, JAS is cringing, this sounds like something Satan would be saying? Hee hee! ys pd
