UPDATE: 06/28/15 -- His Grace Kurma Rupa prabhu – disciple of His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, left his body at 8.43am this morning 28th of June 2015 in Sri Vrndavan Dham in the holy month of Purusottama on the day of holy Ekadasi – May Srila Prabhupada, Lord Sri Krsna and Srimate Radharani please bless him and take care of him. He will be missed by all his dear friends, well wishers and of course his beloved cows.

Thank you all for all your prayers and well wishes that you showered upon him… He was very blessed. Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada – Prabhupada Vision

Please add your prayers for HG Kurma Rupa Prabhu, who is battling stage 4 stomach cancer. We can follow the example of Srila Prabhupada, who absolutely preferred the holy name and prayer, over hospital treatment.

============

Kurma Rupa prabhu’s recent health concerns have been diagnosed as cancer. He was recently given 3 to 6 months to live so he has returned to his home in Vrindavan.

However, since returning his condition has rapidly deteriorated so much so that his Doctor has given him maybe 2 to 3 days to live. He is weak and at present is not experiencing much pain but his condition is rapidly deteriorating so please pray for him.

[PADA: So many ISKCON devotees have already departed like Mula Prakrti dasi, Kulashekhara das, Aindra das and many others, and a fresh wave have departed recently like Brahmananda das and others, and a number are near that stage -- of departing soon.

Oddly, while devotees like Brahmananda, Kurma Rupa, Kulashekhara etc. are being advised to stay away from hospitals, meanwhile the GBC's gurus appear to be going to "the best (and most expensive) hospitals and doctors" for their health needs.

Anyway! We wish those who tried to serve sincerely well, and hope they may eventually move on to better situations, where they can resume serving Krishna. We even wish our God brothers who chose not to serve, but to exploit, that hopefully they will learn they are on the wrong path soon -- and come back to their position as eternal favorable servants of Krishna.

As Aindra said, there are many devotees who wanted to do more service but "the powers that be" would not allow that. Thus, we hope that in their new bodies and new situations, the "powers that be" will be more positive towards Krishna's service; And as such, they will have a much more favorable condition for Krishna seva.

As for me personally, I have to thank a lot of people for making this world so miserable, I seem to have lost much of my attachment for it. And this has sort of forced me to be attracted to Krishna instead. Danke all! ys pd]

Krishna also loves His cows

  1. S dasi: The great soul Kurmarupa started “Care For Cows”. Following in the footsteps of the worshipable residents of Vrndavana, Sri Krsna’s dear associates, and in the service of Srila Prabhupada he has taken care of the suffering cow population in Sri Vrndavana dhama. From humble beginnings he established several large goshalas where cows are now protected. They are fed sumptuously, nursed back to health, given shelter and hospice facilities. His prime objective has always been cow protection. By now many calves have been born under his shelter of “Care for Cows”. Thirteen years ago, appreciating the selfless work Kurnarupa was engaged in, we adopted a five week old calf. We named her Gambhira, honoring the sacred place where Lord Caitanya spent the last half of His life in Jagannatha Puri dhama. If there is milk, it is distributed. If there is no milk the cows are fed and cared for regardless. By the devoted example of Kurmarupa we are reminded again of the sanctity of Krsna consciousness and Sri Vrndavana dhama. You will be missed dear friend and you have risen the bar of devotional service once again. For certain Krsna is awaiting your arrival with open arms ready to embrace His dear devotee.
