[PADA: I think we can all agree, India is a very tough place to live in for a lot of its citizens. Its supposed to be Bharata Varsa, the land of Vedic culture and Krishna consciousness, but self-evidently, in many cases the material facility and culture is slipping, and badly. This is very sad.
Thus more and more of the people there are resorting to drinking home brewed liquor as their source of merriment and pleasure, despite knowing many others have already died from these bogus products. This shows how desperate and deteriorated things have become.
This is why Srila Prabhupada says -- we really need to try to focus on Krishna consciousness very seriously to get out of the entanglements of taking birth in this material world, its just not a happy place. And its not getting any better here in case no one has noticed.
India is one of the places where people are supposed to take birth to become more God conscious, but its just not working out so good for many of those who are taking their birth there. Instead, a number of them are just getting more entangled in various mundane anarthas, problems and deviations.
As Srila Prabhupada says so many times, this means we have to become very serious to get free of the entanglements of this wheel of karma samsara. At the same time, this is one of the reasons we are not happy campers with the GBC's guru process, because they have inhibited Lord Chaitanya's movement which was meant to save or at least partially help all these people. Under their mis-management, instead of more harinama samkirtana, there is now less, and in many cities, there is now none, just as Aindra prabhu was always discussing. ys pd]
