BV Puri maharaja: All over the map.

PADA: Thanks prabhu, BV Puri supported people like Gopal Krishna swami as gurus. I am not sure why he think deviants and perverts can vote in gurus? At the same time BV Puri said that Srila Prabhupada told him he was only appointing ritviks?

In sum, BV Puri supported simultaneously two mutually exclusive things, this is called hypocrisy. He simply confused people.

Meanwhile BV Puri said Narayana Maharaja is worse than any sahajiya, and that NM is a severe offender for being a ring leader of those saying that Srila Prabhupada was wrong to use the title "Prabhupada." Then after all that, BV Puri's ashram made a huge poster advertising their great guest speaker who is a self realized guru, namely Narayana Maharaja, whom was their guest speaker at BV Puri's place? BV Puri supported the things he also condemned? Rudderless. ys pd

PADA: Yes prabhu, Bhakta das is the biggest cheer leader of BV Puri maharaja:

  1. B.V. Puri Maharaja stated that Prabhupada only appointed ritivks, not gurus. Tamal said the same thing at Topanga Canyon. But Prabhupada said when I give the order you become regular gurus, that's all. And the order he gave many times was the law of disciplic succession, when the guru leaves the planet the disciples become gurus next after he leaves. So why do you misquote Tamal and Puri Maharaja when they are speaking the same thing? They said Prabhupada only appointed ritviks, that is fact, and then afterwards he would allow regular gurus. There is no contradiction and you say so yourself, you say that you aren't saying there can be no other gurus after Srila Prabhupada yourself. But even if you say Puri Maharaja and Tamal UNDERSTOOD PERFECTLY that Prabhupada wanted ritviks to carry on eternally still you are contradicting yourself, since your position is the opposite of that. You have already said if someone is qualified they can become guru. On top of that why use Puri and Tamal on

[PADA: Which disciples got the order? The GBC says people who are inclined to illicit sex got the order. Really? Just tell us who got the specific order to become guru and get it over with. ys pd]

  2. Dear Puranjana dasa, you are being defensive, trying to be protective of a initiating process that was never authorized or recommended by Srila Prabhupada to be continued, after his departure from this planet.

[PADA: Suppose I told people guess what, Srila Prabhupada is not your guru. No one would listen to me? These people around here already accept that Srila Prabhupada's books are giving the divyam jnanam which destroys sins (diksha), they are not going to change. They believe that Srila Prabhupada is the source of their divyam jnanam (diksha). We have several hundred devotees here in the Bay Area who worship Srila Prabhupada. I hate to have to tell you this but the GBC program is finished here, its over. Its never going to be revived. Even if I told these people they are not supposed to worship Srila Prabhupada as their diksha guru and source of divyan jnanam, they would not change, its over. The GBC guru system has no credibility here, none. Its dead in the water. There is no other crediblw source of divyam jnanam here, they are accepting that they are getting that divyam jnanam from their diksha guru, and they certainly are not going to accept you as their authority?]

The man who wrote the July 9th 1977 letter, Tamal Krishna, himself admits that the initiation process recommended in the letter was not meant to be followed after the departure of Srila Prabhupada.

[PADA: Fine except in 1970 I was already determined to give Srila Prabhupada to others after he departs, and I am doing that. I do not need a letter to know that is my duty to my guru?]

It was meant for when Srila Prabhupada was still present.

[PADA: The problem is, no one wants to worship these GBC gurus anymore, their temples are empty, they have no funds to manage the few places they kept open, there is no manpower, its over. We are not going to worship them now, nor is the mass of devotees here, they do not care if you think Srila Prabhupada was not supposed to be the guru after he departed, no one cares about your opinon, they are accepting Srila Prabhupada as their guru and no other process is being done to compete with that here, ok maybe Gopal krishna got a few new people once in a while here. Big whoop.]

The letter itself says so " The name of a newly initiated disciple should be sent by the representative who has accepted him or her to Srila Prabhupada, to be included in His Divine Grace's "Initiated Disciples" book. "

[PADA: Exactly, the names were supposed to continue to be put into the book after he departed, that was never ordered to be changed. Correct. ys pd]

  4. "Brahmananda got the order to be a guru? Where? ys pd" It was not really a specific order but an advise and an instruction in a letter Srila Prabhupada wrote to Brahmananda similar to the one he wrote to Hansadutta where Srila Prabhupada says : " Quote — “But as a matter of etiquette it is the custom that during the lifetime of your Spiritual master you bring the prospective disciples to him, and in his absence or disappearance you can accept disciples without any limitation. This is the law of disciplic succession. I want to see my disciples become bonafide Spiritual Master and spread Krishna consciousness very widely, that will make me and Krishna very happy. (Letter: December 2, 1975)”

[PADA: Brahmanda had famous problems with prostitutes, I am not sure why you think that makes him an acharya? Anyway, yes there is a general order for all the kindergarten children, all of you become brain surgeons, that does not mean any of them are? There has to be a specific order, yes, you are ready to perform the brain surgery. There is no such order. Srila Prabhupada said if a layman becomes a brain surgeon he will create chaos, people will die, until you are qualified to perform brain surgery, do not attempt it. A general order for everyone to become pure does not mean anyone has.]

So far as your taking initiation from Brahmananda Maharaja, I have no objection, but it is the etiquette that in the presence of one's Spiritual

[PADA: This was never implemented. Anyway, this is a little silly, after all this Brahmananda got into all kinds of troubles and he went to a "school for becoming a gentleman," where he tried to learn how to behave like one. Srila Prabhupada encouraged people, you will be pure and go back to God, but that does not mean anyone will. Encouragement is not an order. Worse, you are using an example of a person who had famous failings in illicit sex as your example of a guru. You just do not get it, these people were never qualified to be gurus. And that is why their temples are empty and ours is growing. We know who is qualified to be the guru, ys pd]
