Prabhupada Mission / Madhu Pandit / Akshaya Patra etc.

ISKCON Times

Hare Krishna,

We don't realize how big Prabhupada was actually thinking, how grand he wanted this mission to be.One morning Srila Prabhupada was talking with us about the future of the ISKCON movement. He said that he wanted to buy all the land in Mayapur and establish a self-sufficient community. Once that was established, he would then declare independence from India, secede from the country and make his own country, the Country of Mayapur. Then his temples around the world would become embassy for the Country of Mayapur and the temple presidents would be ambassadors. We would print our own money, called Chaitanyas.

Chant Hare Krishna to make Krishna happy!
Excerpts from a lecture by Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa
As Prabhupada says in Chaitanya charitamrita - lust and love, love means you find happiness, lust means you need satisfaction. In Krishna conscious initially we tell people to chant Hare Krishna, you will feel very happy. Ultimately you chant Hare Krishna to make Krishna happy. As we progress in devotional service we understand - I should not chant for my happiness, I should chant for happiness of Krishna. It is a personal process, everything in Krishna consciousness is bhakti yoga, when you are doing japa,  personal dynamics is going on, it is not an impersonal process.
