Mahanidhi Defenders Come Forward (letter from Pancagauda das)

Dear PADA: Please accept my obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I just spoke to Mahanidhi Maharaja for a long time and I am convinced that he has been framed, some envious disciples really attached to him and have destroyed his reputation. So Maharaja is laying low, and just wants to chant and recover from all this. He never had an illicit relationship with any women, it is all rumors. Your servant, Pancagauda das

"Do your duty ... otherwise you will be the next victim of maya. Newton's 3rd laws of motion ... it will bounce back with the same proportion... If you dare then continue to find fault of others and go to HELL.

==========================

PADA: Thanks but first of all, Mahanidhi has been "a member in good standing" of the GBC and their current version of ISKCON. That means, he has supported the GBC's many position papers saying that acharyas are falling down into illicit sex. If he has not supported these pillar preaching ideas of the current GBC gurus, then he has never wrote a position paper explaining -- why he is apparently  participating with, and even supporting, these offenders?

He needs to speak for himself on this matter and not let other proxies defend him. We need to know directly from him -- why he has been participating in this apa-siddhanta -- that acharyas are often debauchees? That is the first issue he needs to clear up, is he with these offenders or not?

As for Pancagauda das, did he not just help bury Kirtanananda's stinky body in the holy dham? Pancagauda thinks we all need to worship the dead corpse of a criminal and child molester in the holy dham? Why is Pancagauda the new defender of Mahanidhi, when Pancagauda is the worst defiler of the holy dham? Is this Mahanidhi's best character witness? So this simply begs another whole set of questions, why is the person who wants us to worship the dead corpse of a criminal and child molester in the holy dham, acting as the star character defender of Mahanidhi?

There is also not merely "only one single complainer" who has been saying Mahanidhi fell down with a woman, as some are telling us, rather the whole GBC has said that: (Letter from the GBC

"Prior to receiving that letter, reports were brought to our attention alleging inappropriate behavior on the part of Mahanidhi Swami on both a personal and philosophical level. The GBC began an investigation of those and found some of the allegations to be true, including inappropriate interactions with a female disciple. Although the extent of those problems is not clear, we found there was definitely behavior not befitting someone in the renounced order of life. It was during this investigation that Mahanidhi Swami chose to resign."

Since Mahanidhi has been a leader in the GBC's guru program for so many years, he is the person who needs to write a public letter explaining all these things, including why he has been reading about siddha pranali and so forth, which we have all seen on his videos. He needs to clear all this up himself, where does he stand on all these complaints, because he has been a big ISKCON leader, and he has even acted as an acharya representative of ISKCON. Thus its his responsibility to explain this so that we, and all of ISKCON's members, and all of his followers, can get clear on his position. If he writes a public letter we will publish it in full. If Mahanidhi does not want second hand people discussing this, then we need to hear his version from himself. Is that fair? ys pd

VERY STRANGE MAHANIDHI VIDEO

What is the Mood?
BY: VISASUCAKA DASA

I would like to call to the attention of concerned devotees another very disturbing video demonstrating the mood of Mahanidhi. In many ways, this video is more disturbing than even the sahajiya-like performance of the previously posted example of his "preaching" in Rocana prabhu's article.

This one was filmed in Vrindavan, and was posted to YouTube on December 29, 2011. About 1 minute in, after kirtan the microphone is handed to Mahanidhi, who offers a sannyasa candidate the most irreverent, inappropriate "blessing" imaginable.

Mahanidhi's "mood" as he mimics a woman being attracted to a man draws laughter from the audience, but will no doubt generate significant concern on the part of his godbrothers and others, including myself. You can see that a few in the crowd were also quite uncomfortable with his antics, and afterward the mood shifted. So what is this animated girlishness? This hyper-feminine display of theatrics we see in various "preaching" videos of Mahanidhi's? One can only speculate and draw their own conclusions. But here is one thing that comes to mind:

For one who becomes contaminated with sahajiyaism, what are the predictable symptoms of that deviation? Well first we should note that one who becomes contaminated by sahajiyaism is automatically understood to be a neophyte and a rascal. Surely one predictable symptom is that if a neophyte devotee indiscreetly spends an inordinate amount of time focused on Srimati Radha and the sakhis, in the mood of the rasika babajis, they will risk developing an unhealthy identification with Them. And what is the business of the gopis? They desire Krsna.

Can we expect, then, that a neophyte who has become contaminated by sahajiyaism might express latent sex desire in the form of mimicking the gopis attraction for Krsna? While a man who is expressing such a mood might be seen as exhibiting homosexual tendencies, it may simply be repressed heterosexual sex desire being expressed through role-playing. Whateever it is, what we see in this video is certainly not transcendental lila theatrics.

Describing the apasampradaya known as the Sakhibekhis -- sahajiya men who dress up in women's clothing, put cloth over their heads like a sari, and role-play as gopis in order to enjoy sex desire -- Srila Prabhupada says the following:

"Sakhibekhi. There are so many apasampradayas, thirteen at least in the counting by Bhaktivinoda Thakura: aula, baula karttabhaja, neda, daravesa, sani sahajiya, sakhibekhi. This sakhibekhi. Smarta, jata-gosani, ativadi, cudadhari, gauranga-nagari. These thirteen, fourteen apasampradayas. They are passing as Caitanya Mahaprabhu's sampradaya. But they're the worst, rejected. The sakhibekhi, dressing like.... To cheat Krsna. Krsna is after the gopis, so they have dressed like gopi, and Krsna does not know that he's a rascal man. (laughter) Just see. This is their intelligence, to.... "I have become a sakhi. Krsna will embrace me and kiss me." So Krsna is so fool. (laughs) These rascals are doing that. Sakhibhekhi. There was a Lalita-sakhi in Navadvipa. All women surrounding him."

Dear reader, what do you think Srila Prabhupada would say about Mahanidhi's behavior in the video above?
Another video found in the Mahanidhi collection on YouTube that I find disturbing is the one below, posted to YouTube on July 2, 2012. It shows Mahanidhi giving a tour of Srila Prabhupada's quarters. As the dialogue indicates, he is "educating" devotees by explaining the paraphernalia on display there. Immediately he laughs and points out that "They used to have snuff in here because Prabhupada used to take snuff." And he wasn't satisfied to just leave it there. He had to make a point of asking if the devotees know what snuff is, making sure they know it's powdered tobacco. Then laughing like it's an inside joke that the devotees have to 'hide the snuff because people will freak out'. This is so offensive, and tells us a great deal about Mahanidhi's mood for Srila Prabhupada.

  1. The British used "snuff" for allergies. When you sniff it, it constricts the passageways in the nasal area, just as presently steroids prescribed by a doctor do. Prabhupada did not hide the fact that he used it, he had allergies and that was what he used it for. When using it that way, one sneezes it out. It is not like the "snuff" Americans use for flavor like chewing tobacco, nor is it cocaine.

  2. There's no question of defending him. He is the one who confessed to his disciples. This happens so often. The guru has one moment of clarity where he realizes he is going to go to hell for eternity for misleading all of his disciples so he fesses up. Then he gets rotten tomatoes thrown at him, etc. Then he longs for his position back again, bhoga tyaga. So he says the GBC are envious and are making this all up and salvages as much of his previous empire as he can.

This guru is shameless making fun of Srila Prabhupada, rejecting Prabhupada, and taking shelter of other gurus then blaming the GBC for saying he has deviated after he said it himself. And his disciples need to be educated on the side. Because if one goes directly to try and educate the foolish disciples of such a foolish guru they will become angry since they have bought his act hook line and sinker.

  3. I watched the very strange mahanidhi video and had to say I felt uncomfortable even sitting here so far away from Vrndavana. Yet I saw another ISKCON devotee doing the same type of thing at Radha Kunda myself. A devotee who is still in good standing. I thought to myself, "What is this devotee doing? Is he a sahajiya? Why is he acting like some sort of Indian woman?" This other devotee also got a few laughs but I felt extremely uncomfortable about him too. I also thought that because they are thinking they are women inside then occasionally it comes out of them this way, their consciousness just has to come out in a perverted reflection once in a while. Or maybe it's just an innocent joke, what do you think?

  4. I am not a Mahanidhi supporter (or detractor), but in all fairness (concerning "snuff"): in a letter to Revatinandana dasa, dated 9 January, 1974, Prabhupada writes: "Regarding taking snuff, I myself take it sometimes at night because I am working at night on my books, and sometimes I become dizzy. But it is not for you to take. You should not imitate this, neither you work like me at night."
