Hare Krsna!
ADDITIONAL POINT:
There is also another aspect for the appearing in PHYSICAL form EXTERNALLY -- Srila Prabhupada’s BOOKS are HIMSELF in his PHYSICAL form. “The Paramātmā is always the caitya-guru, the spiritual master within, and He comes before one EXTERNALLY as the instructor and initiator spiritual master. ”
Externally Srila Prabhupada’s BOOKS are ALSO himself:. “There is no difference between the spiritual master’s instructions and the spiritual master himself. ”
Srimad-Bhagavatam : Canto 4: “The Creation of the Fourth Order” : SB 4.28: Puranjana Becomes a Woman in the Next Life : SB 4.28.52 : PURPORT :
When a person’s relative dies, renunciation is automatically visible. Consultation with the Supersoul seated within everyone’s heart is possible only when one is completely free from the contamination of material attachment. One who is sincere and pure gets an opportunity to consult with the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His Paramātmā feature sitting within everyone’s heart. The Paramātmā is always the caitya-guru, the spiritual master within, and He comes before one externally as the instructor and initiator spiritual master.
Sri Caitanya-caritamrta -- 1975 Edition : Cc. Adi-lila : Adi 1: The Spiritual Masters : Adi 1.35 : PURPORT :
If there is no chance to serve the spiritual master directly, a devotee should serve him by remembering his instructions. There is no difference between the spiritual master’s instructions and the spiritual master himself. In his absence, therefore, his words of direction should be the pride of the disciple.

This additional point is directly opposite of what Prabhupada taught. When a devotee asked Srila Prabhupada if all we needed was his books, Prabhupada slapped the devotee and asked, "Can a book do this?"(chastize a person by slapping them). The answer is no. On the other hand we have NO direct quotation from Prabhupada that his books are his direct physical manifestation. He said everything you need to know is in his books, but that does not mean he said "I AM MY BOOKS". Please do not try to justify or put words in Prabhupada's mouth he did not say. If you do you will be guilty of starting a new philosophy, and if you do you will have to take the karma for all those people who are mislead by you. And that you do not wish to take Mahesh Raja trust me.
ReplyDeleteOK, so if there is a physically present guru that you have accepted, who is he? That is all we are asking? And if you do not have one, then your point is invalid from square one. You are asking others to accept a living guru, but you are not doing that yourself?
ReplyDeleteAnd if you have not accepted the so-called living guru program you are advertising, then why should we listen to anything else you say, that means you have no source at all? If you have a living guru, just show us who he is, otherwise, you are arguing about a phantom person who does not even exist. ys pd
Anger is not a platform from which any reasonable devotee should express his mind regarding the personality of HDG Srila Prabhupada. Anger is a product of the mode of passion and anyone who is under its influence can not ascertain things or express himself in a way worth hearing by others. Srila Prabhupada's behaviour and actions were and are totally under the dictation of the Supreme Lord, Who is known as Hrshikesh. So, whatever issue you may have within your own mind, you should deal with it accordingly. Please be careful prabhu, putting yourself on a platform of being able to interpret the actions or mentality of an Acarya, who is the actual representative of Srila Vyasadeva for this age, can get you to become a resident of the lower and darkest regions of this universe. My humble obeisances to you and everyone else. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Sri-Sri Goura-Nitai! Hare Krsna!
ReplyDeleteI agree, as soon as I ask people to identify their living guru, they get angry. Anger means defeat, correct. ys pd
ReplyDeleteI do not have a living guru. Neither do any of the Prabhupada disciples, unless you accept that he can enter their dreams to instruct them. In that case yes I have one, and so do you. My point is still this, where did srila Prabhupada say, "I and my books are one"? This sounds just like the Bible where Jesus says "I and my father are one". Prabhupada said his purports were directly spoken to him by Lord Krishna. But he said his books were not enough. Read the quote, "Can a book do this"? (slaps a disciple on the head). Obviously not. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta said to slap yourself with shoes one hundred times in the morning and a broomstick one hundred times at night. Pada, you need to hit yourself one thousand times with the Bhagavad-Gita, the biggest hardback there is. Then maybe you can knock some sense into yourself. Sometimes karmis tell devotees to get a job. I am telling you to get a brain! Get a brain prabhu, get a brain, get a brain get a brain!
ReplyDeleteRight, whenever we ask people like Vraja Vilasa, Rocana, Kailash and all these assembled living guru people, who is your living guru, they have none. Its all bluff.
ReplyDeleteSrila Prabhuapda said he would live forever from his books, so yes that means he and his books are one.
Yes! The Bible says "I am the father," and the Gita also says that, whats wrong with that?
Can a book slap you? No, that is the job of the laymen preachers, priests, ritviks, and people of the religion to represent the guru and instruct you? They instruct you, and that was the whole process all along, there was a temple president, preachers, and so on.
OK, so even if I get a brain, then what? I will still say the same thing, accept Srila Prabhupada as the acharya, because he is the acharya. ys pd
It is amazing how this simple point is not understood by modern Vaishnavas even after 15 years.
ReplyDeleteThey bring exact same arguments than in 1998. In this way they created same hodge podge like Prabhupada mentioned what we have in India.
Prabhupada: (Bengali) [...] They'll feel... Yes, they're expecting. Outside India, people, they expect that there is something better knowledge in India. Therefore as soon as some swamis or yogi goes there, they come. But they cheat. These rascals, I shall say that, they do not know anything, and they go there for teaching yoga. Bogus.

"In the beginning one must have a preliminary desire for self-realization. This will bring one to the stage of trying to associate with persons who are 'spiritually elevated'. In the next stage one becomes initiated by 'an elevated spiritual master', and under his instructions the 'neophyte devotee' begins the process of devotional service. By execution of devotional service 'under the guidance' of the spiritual master, on becomes free from all material attachment, attains steadiness in self-realization, and acquires a taste for hearing about the Asolute Personality of Godhead, Sri Krsna. This taste leads one further forward to attachment for Krsna consciousness, which is matured in bhava, or the preliminary stage of transcendental love of God. Real love of God is called prema, the highest perfectional stage of life." Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu (1.4.15-16)
From these verses I gather that all those who have had the fortune of coming in touch with Srila Prabhupada either personally or via his books, and consecuently became engaged in devotional service, initially must certainly have had to meet the first requirements delineated above. Now, as far as the final result of this gradual process of God-realization, which must first come to the bhava stage before culminating "In the highest perfectional stage of life, called prema," Who, if not all of the so- called appointed gurus after Srila Prabhupada's departure from this world, had actually advance to such a stage of spiritual perfection? And who, if not all of them, among the presently living leaders of Iskcon (e.g., GBC's, Gurus, Sanyasis, etc., etc.) is actually situated in such a platform?. That's all. My humble obeisances to everyone. All glories to our beloved Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Sri-Sri Goura-Nitai! Hare Krsna!
Our program is, people read the books of Srila Prabhupada, then they come to our Prabhupadanuga centers, and then they become devotees. That is what we have been doing all along since 1970. Its better that we act as his agents and not his successors. ys pd
ReplyDeleteFrom all the scriptural evidences regarding the issue. The letters, lectures, room conversations, etc., by Srila Prabhupada himself, and the many examples of failure by those who have done otherwise, it is more than clear that this is the way it should have been, and should be. My humble obeisances to all. All glories to Srila Prabhupada! All glories to Sri- Sri Goura-Nitai! Hare Krsna!
