In the Purnas we learn that Vyasadeva is born at the end of last age and lives till the end of this one. Mahabharata tells that Sukadeva Gosvami was born on Meru. ThisAlso in the Puranas we learn that Vyasadvea sometimes sits with Yamaraja judging the dead. Vyasadeva is an actual person who is still living.
