MD: Here is some post I wrote 25 years ago about Malati dd. I hope Malati dd the GBC member has improved her attitude and behavior since then towards the young devotees under her. I don't like complaining or finding faults in other devotees, but things were really out of hand at this girl's ashram and many of the innocent young people there were really suffering. Malati dd brought many of her girls to Alachua over 25 years ago for some conference and some of them were in in so much distress and were complaining about their treatment and nightmarish experiences. I witnessed it firsthand when Malati dd came around the corner and would blast them severely for minor things.

I found this old editorial I wrote 25 years ago. I was a bit rebellious and challenging to the GBC, but since there is absolutely no one on Facebook right now, I am going to print it and see how much trouble I can get in. Hardly anyone will see it anyway.
Fixing The Situation At Malati's Asrama

EDITORIAL, Jun 29 1999 — My dear prabhu and respected vaisnavas . We are hearing so much about the situation at Malati's 'asrama' lately that gradually it is becoming clear that the situation there must be counter productive to anyone developing Krsna consciousness. One cannot develop the gentle qualities of a devotee by being subjected to an atmosphere of guilt, threats, and intimidation.
PADA: 1999 is when we were in the middle of having the GBC sued for mass child molesting. That was not a good time to jump on board the GBC's management circle and start to tell people they had to worship the founder fathers of a mass molesting regime as their messiahs. That is cruelty to children right out of the gate, who tells children to worship a pedos and predators guru regime as their messiahs?
OK very deviant and foolish people like Malati. And then she becomes a sort of abuser of people herself because she is associated with same. She wants people to worship cruelty to children, and she becomes what she worships.
Sooner or later those who take shelter there will have a change of heart about wanting to be part of our movement and go away.
PADA: Of course that is a blessing, anyone who goes away won't have their children molested in Malati's "guru schools." I always recommend people save themselves and their children from these people. As one woman told me, I do not go to the temple because if I wanted to be depressed, I would watch a horror movie.
Someone healthy and responsible had better step in there and take control before something goes wrong or someone goes over the edge. It is the responsibility of the GBC to take an aggressive and positive role in the actual development of our movement, but unfortunately sometimes we do not see any evidence of that.
We need someone with some courage and leadership to actually open their eyes and see that something is wrong and that something practical needs to be done in a real-life situation. I don't mean for the GBC to start writing something we can't even understand that begins with... "Wherein we resolve...", But I mean to get up, get in their car and drive there and walk in the door and assess the situation and perhaps relieve Malati of her management position so that she can take a little rest.
We need leaders again that are actually part of our lives. Real people who care about the everyday lives of the devotees and are willing to throw away politics and roll up their sleeves and do something practical. Poor Malati must be miserable always struggling, trying to keep strict control and force everyone around her to do as they are told.
PADA: Yep, a lot of these "gurus" are suffering from fall downs, taking alcohol and / or psychotropics, very severe health and many other mental problems. They are miserable people as a group. So if we worship miserable people, we ourselves become miserable. And if we promote the worship of a pedo guru system, we might become contaminated with sympathy for that agenda.
Contrasted to what is being described as an insane asylum would be an asrama for young, innocent girls where there is respect for others and encouragement and gentle guidance -- a place for spiritual nurturement and god-sisterhood--as they gradually purify their lives. A true leader knows how to enthuse others by their love, enthusiasm, encouragement, understanding, and most of all, kindness.
PADA: Malati is promoting the GBC jack boot Gestapo that forces children to worship pedos, she thus becomes one of the Gestapo herself.
One naturally wants to emulate such leaders and follow them. But this forcing by intimidation or 'guilt tripping' and threats will lead nowhere. Maybe a 'leader' might reach some of their personal goals, but these young people that are coming to us and trusting us to help them become Krsna's servants are getting cheated.
They are what all these buildings and books are all about. They are for the benefit of the unfortunate souls who seek out Srila Prabhupada to shelter them from the onslaught and ravages of material nature. They are not for our own material benefits!
It is quite likely that Malati is just not fit for the job. She is probably a very nice devotee but is in way over her head. There are many other ways that she can serve Krsna. We have a temple president here at Alachua who is also a woman named Nanda dd. She is a very qualified manager and knows how to get others to help her in so many endeavors.
She does not threaten or yell. She encourages and sets a good example. Every day I see her alone cleaning out some closet in the temple, or sweeping the veranda, or washing all the pots by herself after the Sunday feast.
PADA: Alachua is like the headquarters of the illicit sex with men, women and children messiah's club. Going there to help others worship their pedo's messiah's program is not going to fix anything.
As soon as the Alachua's management group see the leaders of their favorite anal reconstructive surgery epidemic messiahs club, they fall of their chairs and lick the jack boots of those people. There are people from Alachua who still argue with me that we need to worship their living pedos program, and they want me to help them make their Jimmy Savile's disciples into the new Jesus of the planet. They confuse anal sex epidemic programs with Vaikuntha, and that is one reason Malati is not able to improve herself, she is promoting them and that contaminates herself.
Malati could come here and take a break in the country for a while and just do nothing but chant and relax for a while. After a few days she can gradually start serving Krsna doing some tasks. There are more closets to clean and if she would help Mother Nandaji with the pots on Sunday that would help her cleanse her heart.
Too much emphasis is given nowadays to position or political standing. Let the GBC wash the pots, and we will soon bridge some of the gaps. There is an art to leading devotees. And it is never too late for old dogs to learn new tricks I was there in Detroit in 1969 when a letter came to Bhagavan das from Srila Prabhupada where our gurudeva gave this simple formula for getting others to engage in devotional service.
I am so grateful to have read this with my own eyes. It has turned out to be one of the major instructions that have formed my understanding of how this desire for Krsna consciousness activity can be instilled in others in a way that is far different from the 'just surrender prabhu,' regardless of whether you want to do it or not.
Srila Prabhupada wrote ''My dear Bhagavan, please accept my blessings. I am so glad to see that whenever someone comes to serve Krsna, you know the art of engaging them as they like to serve Krsna, not forcing them to do something that they do not like to do. No intelligent person will accept that process"

MA Das: I really really like the letter. But I would have blacked out “her” name. For educational purposes, the letter is a worthwhile read; otherwise , why bring up something that happened 25 years ago?
PADA: Malati is still serving the anal sex epidemic messiah's club now, not 25 years ago. She was with them when we were having them sued, that means she knew there was rampant molesting going on.
MF: Yes, I think she has much improved. And I think 25 years ago and before then also were heavily institutionally influenced by overbearing management attitudes and negative reinforcement practices, which were obviously ineffective and also harmful. But such was the ethos which unfortunately got passed down from the other belligerent self-appointed "leaders" of the time!
PADA: The same belligerent leaders are still in charge now? And they are bringing in their child abuser pals to Mayapur now, just as they did 25 years ago. And more reports of abuse from Mayapur are surfacing all the time. If anything, Mayapur is looking worse now than it ever did 25 years ago. Hundreds or even thousands of people are recently getting on board with the idea that Mayapur is a citadel of sin and not a holy place.
Yet, much has changed and improved since then, and we should focus more on the present positive empowerment of appreciation, compassionate understanding, forgiveness, and encouragement, rather than on any chronically critical and outdated perceptions of obsessing about what's in the rearview mirror! PADA: A wave of more reports of abuse are surfacing now, that means this is a current issue and not a rear view mirror issue.

When I first came to the movement, I was hoping for some loving, kindness and caring guidance from the senior ladies in our movement, perhaps imagining how Saci devi and Vishnupriya would care for and comfort each other once Mahaprabhu had left.
Imagine my shock when instead I got an icy cold-shoulder, instant chastisement and / or a series of barked commands.
I'm not referring to Malati dd necessarily, as I haven't had much dealing with her. There are a few sweet ladies here and there. But, in general, it's a horror story. Please don't try to be gurus. Just try to be nice vaishanvis.

There is no rich nor powerful nor superior nor president. All equal in the eyes of God engaged in service. It's time we send the GBC and so called sanyasis for training in sikh temples. I am saying this because I grew up in one as a child.

PADA: You cannot save cows and be a fool like Narayan Maharaja and promote pedo guru systems at the same time. You need to save the people first, and cows later. Malati ran off with Prithu Putra who was making some sort of Devil worship cult, and Malati was making Devilish illustrations for his publications. She told a woman that she was going to die from heroin overdose and that woman took her back to the ISKCON temple and brought her back in.
She was unable to cope with the situation and she never should have been made any type of ISKCON leader. Prithu Putra was one of the original people who verified that Srila Prabhupada had made a poison complaint however, he knew a lot of things were going on, but he decided to just let ISKCON go down and he was not going to help rectify the situation.
And that lead to his untimely departure. These people never understood what the Bhagavad Gita says, fight for justice, or you will go down in infamy and you will be impacted severely anyways. And they were. People with these types of mental imbalances should never be in charge of younger people either, people who cannot manage their own lives will not be able to manage others. ys pd angel108b@yahoo.com

and there will be many followers.
PADA: Decide what you want and write it down, I recommend a legal pad. OK that is like writing five hundred things down that I want. Oh yeah, what I want is to NOT write down the five hundred things that I want on a paper and "go for it," I want to know what Krishna wants, not what I want. What a bunch of hodge podge horse manure. And this is one of their messiahs? And what is the yellow braid garland? I give up. ys pd
LD: Perfect fit for sure. Former meat eating Westerner, former heroin addict, former Satan worshiper, former cruel to devotees, former alleged lesbian, now ... prime candidate for "women acharya of the universal jagat of Oz-Con." All fits.
ReplyDeleteAnd some of the other leaders ... whose kids committed suicide, or their kids friends committed suicide, are in charge of child welfare managing and monitoring now. All fits.
They take the worst people ... who have lots of skeletons ... to be in their circle of managing ... because those people have too much to hide. They cannot spot a light on another person who is deviating, because they have to hide in the shadows themselves.
How all corrupt dictators manage. They find compromised people and give them a post ... because compromised people have no real moral authority ... to speak up ... even if the crimes are harming the most vulnerable.
Kamsa too was handing out positions to his bogus friends "I will make you the leader of this village, but you have to pledge loyalty to me."
There is no loyalty to Srila Prabhupada ... you'll have to be a team play for them ... or you get no position. Why they keep finding low lifes to take different positions ... almost no one else is interested.
I feel bad for her. She jumped out of the frying pan into the fire of bogus gurus ... and they want to make her one of their gurus. She has surrendered to the bogus guru clown show ... and unfortunately Krishna has zero tolerance for bogus guru clown shows ... they will be punished severely. In other words ... you'd might be better off worshiping Satan ... at least those people are honest.
