[PADA: Some devotees who distribute original books were banned from an ISKCON center recently. It seems the overall GBC's policy is -- trying to bully down by oppressing the people who know the GBC's folks are cheating the devotees and public with their fraudulent edited books. More and more people want originals, and that is going to increase over time. Of course we were also oppressed by the same GBC bully boy policy as well over all these issues, its what they do. Anyway, more and more people have had enough of this nonsense and they are going to operate independently, goody, more of this is needed. ys pd]
Please accept our humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Yesterday when discussing an issue with one lady that was similar to our mission of preserving Srila Prabhupada's original books, she asked me a question that I too wondered about years back in relation to our mission of original books.
She asked me: "Do you think any of our efforts really matter? Do you think [this issue] can ever be affected by us?" And I answered with the first words that came to my mind. "Drops of water wear away stone."
And they have. When we first started openly distributing Srila Prabhupada's original books in spring of last year, we had multiple people writing and calling us to dissuade us otherwise, some with great intensity. For each of those conversations we followed one principle: we spoke calmly and respectfully to each person who tried to dissuade us, regardless of the tone of voice and language style they used with us, and made one point clear - we were going to openly follow our heart - and that meant distributing Srila Prabhupada's original books as he read from and approved them.
Multiple devotees are now openly supporting and speaking in favor of Srila Prabhupada's original books, and in a respectful and Vaisnava like manner. Among them, Garuda Prabhu is gathering the attention of many with the firm, yet gentlemanly etiquette he is speaking in, and other devotees of influence are now giving attention to this matter with seriousness. The greatest joy for us, was when a senior Vaisnava approached us to say,
"I never used to take the book issue seriously because the persons I saw speaking about it were doing so in an aggressive manner. However seeing these points made by multiple persons in a calm and respectful manner, I am realizing what a serious issue this is, and I think other persons are being convinced in this same way."
Drops of water wear away stone.
Thank you for being part of this invaluable mission of preserving Srila Prabhupada's original books, and for inspiring us by allowing us to watch as you consistently move stone with your distribution.
This April we distributed 355 original Bhagavad Gita's As It Is. Our daily average was as follows: 53 books and magazines a day, with 12 of them being hardbacks, and 11 of them being Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavad Gita As It Is.
We thank you for your continued dedication and enthusiasm, and look forward to serving with you as drops of water.
