PADA: Thanks OM, what is our opinion of BLISS? Purujit is a ritvik -- sort of. Originally we advertised his program, and we thought this is great, he wants to do the right thing. Then we helped get a woman to visit his place, and she was disgusted to find out he was secretly making his own edited version of the Bhagavad Gita. And he is the editor.
Since English is not his original language, thus his English speaking is not the greatest. OK so now we are going to have the Original 1972 BBT version, the Jayadvaita version, and the mashed up English Purujit version, and who knows what else version. Not good pilgrims! Purujit visited Berkeley some years ago, and he scrupulously avoided visiting me.
So then we got into a giant argument with Purujit and his followers over his "new Gita," and they were no small amount of nasty in insulting and attacking me personally, as "the old guy who is out of touch." Hmmm, just like Sanat / Mukunda / Peter / Prahlad / HKC Jaipur folks thought I was "out of touch" when I did not want to help them promote their favorite Radhanath's cheer leaders and Bhavananda's bucket boy's club. Yep, as a matter of fact I am not a boot kisser of pedophile messiah's clubs, and that makes me old and out of touch! Who knew!
Did I forget to mention, that I am living with "the karmis" since 1978, and none of them ever trash talks down to me -- and behaves like angry infantile toddlers, or cult fanatics? That is because -- they have some mature idea how to behave.
OK, so then Purujit is evidently / supposedly / allegedly caught watching porno on the computer in Spain. And then he evidently gets into a knock out / blow out with the devotee in Spain where he was staying. That devotee had already blocked me, saying I was bogus for not supporting Purujit's Gita. Whooaahh! I was telling him Purujit is drifting off the reservation, and he was telling me -- I am drifting off the reservation. Happens a lot to us old and out of touch guys!
As far as watching porno itself, well it is bad -- no question. Yet there are much worse things devotees can get into -- like being a bogus ISKCON acharya, taking heroin, getting AIDS, dying from alcohol poison and etc., which has happened to some folks we knew.
Srila Prabhupada says -- sex enjoyment is like taking intoxication, it gives the brain some sort of temporary intoxicating pleasure, albeit it does not last long. And according to Srila Prabhupada, sex life on the heavenly planets is very wonderful, but afterwards, they feel despondent and remorseful. Yep, it goes on even among the higher planet's residents.
OK I do not consider porno as a "three strikes and you are out offense," however -- to make pretend one is above such things, and not be, is a sort of offense of misleading others in itself. And if you are going to be a ritvik priest, OK try to wait until you have cleared up a few anarthas before you attempt it. Did I forget to mention, anyone who is still watching porno -- has to stay in the material world of repeated births and deaths?
Meanwhile, to his credit Purujit is doing some good work -- going out on harinama and distributing books, and it looks like they are distributing the KBI original 1972 ISKCON Gita. I hope so at least. So I encourage that. Good idea, go for it. But don't try to be a big shot person, when you are struggling like all the rest of us. And for heaven's sake, don't think you can re-edit the books, especially when your English is totally out of sync with actual English. Sheesh!
So let us see what happens. If someone can send me an update on his program, let us see what they say. Overall, I hope he gets it together and starts to work with the other Prabhupadanugas, and he gets up to speed with the actual original books idea, and he starts to communicate with us "senior old timers," who are not the greatest help in the world mind you, but we at least do know a thing or two from being involved in all this much longer than them.
At least see what our opinion is, take it or leave it, but not communicating with us seems to cause lots of speculation, confusion and taking the wrong path, over and over. Whereas asking us old fogeys in the first place might have helped, maybe we could have told you in advance, oooh oooh, that road is a dead end, go back to the main highway! Hee hee!
There are complaints rolling into PADA about -- Henry's "Killing for Krishna" books; Nityananda's "Poison" books; Bangalore; Yasodanandan; Singapore; Purujit; the IRM; and of course PADA itself. Fine, but if you are not making any better program, you are also not doing anything much to help. Therefore, a blind uncle is maybe better than none.

LD: Maya can over come a lot of Hare Krishna devotees. In point of fact, I would have to say ... some devotees are in WAY more Maya than a lot of regular people we see on the street.
ReplyDeleteJust because one puts on a robe and some tilak, does not mean one has transcended illusion. By a long shot. A lot of devotees are in the illusion that they are free of illusion, which is simply another illusion. And their illusion is in many ways ... worse than the regular street people's illusion, because the street persons never believe they have transcended it all, they have some basic humility.
