Krishna West Invades ISKCON Mayapur (re: Kaunteya Das)

[PADA: Hrdayananda's "Krishna West" agenda has been creeping into ISKCON Mayapur's management, and it looks like there is an increasing schism over accepting that process. It looks like the GBC program overall is more and more fracturing into smaller pieces. 

And now there is a lot of finger pointing as to who is to blame for all this mess. Collectively, they all are to blame. Unfortunately, while the Basu Ghosh / Bhakti Vikas swami / ICC folks are against Krishna West, they are still promoting Lokanath swami, and there is a huge wave of protest over keeping him on as an authority. In other words, their united front is collapsing.] 

Proposal - GBC take action against Kaunteya Das (JPS)

Whereas, Kaunteya Das, an initiated disciple of Jayapataka Swami is GBC 
Global co-Minister for Congregational Development,

Whereas, Kaunteya Das, is (now former) Co-Chairman of the GBC Organizational Development Committee and remains on the committee as a member,

Whereas, Kaunteya Das recently circulated a book entitled “Racism, Sexism &
Homophobia in Srila Prabhupada's Teachings”, that is full of ideas that
offends and blasphemes Srila Prabhupada extensively and contradicts Srila
Prabhupada’s teachings,

Whereas, Anuttama Das, the GBC Minister of Communications, and Hridayananda
Goswami, GBC Emeritus, Parabhakti Das, have effectively supported the ideas
of Kaunteya Das, by writing forwards endorsing his book, and thus contributed to this offense to Srila Prabhupada and the ISKCON India leadership,

Whereas, Kaunteya Das has launched a frontal, no holds barred public attack
on social media against the ISKCON India leadership, that besides being the
wrong way to debate, and ungentlemanly, is blatantly vaishnav aparadh, and
has brought into disrepute the entire ISKCON India leadership,

Whereas, any attempt at changing the title of Kaunteya’s book creates a
smokescreen to conceal the offensive content of the book,

Therefore, the ICC the resolves,

1. That Kaunteya Das is hereby censured by the ICC.

2. The ICC calls for action to be taken by the GBC to remove Kaunteya Das
from all managerial posts, all committees, and GBC College, etc., in ISKCON
at the earliest.

3. The ICC calls on the GBC to immediately suspend Kaunteya Das from ISKCON,
unless and until he unconditionally disavows and withdraws his offensive book, and apologizes for his offenses,

4. The GBC must take action regarding their own members who endorsed this
offensive book of Kaunteya Das, including Anuttama Das, the GBC Minister for
Communications, and Hridayananda Goswami, GBC Emeritus, and Parabhakti Das,
who wrote forwards to the book.

5. The ICC hereby bans Kaunteya Das from lecturing and making presentations
in all ISKCON centers in India.

6. The ICC requests the Bureau to follow up on the above.

His Grace Kaunteya Prabhu Born in Rome, Italy, in 1963, he joined ISKCON in May 1980. At present he is serving as Co-Minister with HH Jayapataka Maharaja, his diksa-guru, of the ISKCON Congregational Development Ministry, Co-Chairman with HG Gopal Bhatta Prabhu of the GBC Organizational Development Committee, Trustee and faculty member of the GBC College for Leadership Development (www.gbc-college.com) Member of the GBC Strategic Planning Team and Strategic Planning Committee for Mayapur.

[PADA: OK so this Kaunteya fellow, assuming he is the same one, is evidently Jayapataka's right hand man, a member of many ISKCON committees and director's boards, and yet he has been adopting the "Krishna West" and / or "progressive Vaishnavas" process of Hrdayananda, evidently right under the noses of the GBC. 

And JPS is not aware of "Krishna West" influence filtering in, nor is anyone else in management of Mayapur? Sounds very odd, one of their biggest leaders is floating all kinds of speculative introductions into ISKCON, and no one in Mayapur has noticed. Or did they notice, and they too are going West.

Hrdayananda has made negative comments about Srila Prabhupada's statements, and evidently his agenda now has a following in the Mayapur management. And then there are the various pro-women diksha guru, pro-homosexual weddings, and pro -- "let us edit out negative comments from Srila Prabhupada's books" folks, some allegedly / maybe part of / or related to, Krishna West. OK so the GBC has had Krishna West voted in, voted out, voted back in, and who knows what at present.

So this looks like another instance where, the leaders are not paying attention, and so deviations are slipping in left, right and center. As far as racism, caste-ism, sexism and so-called homophobias, well the first problem is -- these types of things are mentioned in Vedic writings -- for thousands of years. 

Different races are mentioned, different castes are mentioned, men -- and not women -- being the leaders are mentioned, and homosexuality in general is not approved of, and is considered a form of illicit sex etc. And thus -- for example, people from the lower castes were not allowed to marry into the higher castes --- and so on and so forth, as general principles, and for many thousands of years. 

There are still remnant forms of birth-ism, racism and caste-ism going on now in India, with some people considered as brahmanas, kshatriyas, vaisyas, sudras and -- "candalas" or untouchable class. For example some of PADA's African American friends said they got some "real bad vibes" in some areas of India, etc.

However, all that being said, in Kali Yuga everyone is considered in general as born a sudra. And at the same time Srila Prabhupada also said we are all basically spiritual souls, not actually men, women, or particular castes and births. In any case, the Krishna Western process is not considered as bona fide even in many ISKCON circles, it is just too compromised.

The main problem here is -- once again -- the ISKCON GBC. They did not make a clearly defined status of Hrdayananda and his "Krishna West." They did not make a uniform status of female diksha gurus. Hrdayananda is allowed to lecture at some temples, not allowed in others. Female diksha gurus are allowed in some temples, not others. Lokanath is welcome in some places, like Mayapur, not so welcome in others. And so on! The GBC is basically all over the map on key foundational issues. As for Basu Ghosh and the ICC, well wait a minute, they are supportive of Lokanath swami. 

It looks to us like the tower of Babel syndrome is attacking the ISKCON admin class, and they are disintegrating over key issues. That is both good and bad. It means there will be more and more chaos and free for all in ISKCON. This is making ISKCON into a bigger splintered mess than it already is, and it will be harder and harder to maintain as a unified institution. 

At the same time, chaos might weaken them to the point they cannot make any functional opposition to the growing Prabhupadanugas process. And that helps us. The Gaudiya Math had the same problem, this guru guy was only allowed to speak here, not there. This policy was allowed here, not there, and so on. It splintered. ISKCON is going the same direction. Bhakti Vikas swami is in a real tight spot because his sanyasa guru is Jayapataka, and it looks like his sannyasa guru is behind some of these radical changes.

In other words, they are gradually stopping fighting with us, and they are fighting with their own shadow. We already see that with the Lokanath cult. They want to sue people for promoting false documents, sometimes -- the same identical documents that were penned and distributed by -- the ISKCON GBC. They are getting more and more desperate to plug the holes in the dam, but there are just too many holes at this stage. ys pd

SS Das: I highly doubt if Krishna religion went to their brain not to speak of reaching their heart. I think the Mayapur people are collaborating with Krishna west to split ISKCON ... as ISKCON east, west, south, north ... This is called ...... nonsense boldly speaking nonsense.....

RH: Yes agreed prabhu. Maybe it’s best if Iskcon does split up into pieces. Then the Liberal-vadis will officially become the 14th major apasampradaya. Furthermore, I believe Lord Chaitanya said that if one sees the face of a Liberal-vadi one should immediately take bath in the Ganga with one’s clothes on. Why did the purple-haired liberal-vadi sahajiyas not bother to read Prabhupada’s books before they took initiation? You would think that one would want to at least hear what the guru’s teachings are before taking initiation into his organization.

The Liberal-vadis should leave Iskcon and form their own society. They can install Mr. Resnick as their “Acharyadev”. The Liberal-vadis can then freely dye their shikhas purple, fly rainbow flags from the tops of their temples, change all the pronouns in Prabhupada’s books to gender neutral forms, institute LGBTQ diksha gurus, “follow the science” (just like Prabhupada always told us to do, right?) and not be “fanatics” about caffeine, chocolate, garlic, mushrooms, onions, etc., have self help seminars and yoga classes at their all vegan temples, etc., etc. 

And best of all, we get to see their new outreach program, a bunch of women in yoga pants doing yoga classes in front of the deities. This is really what they wanted to do the whole time ... and now their dream is being realized. Later on, the Hindus they have appointed to run ISKCON temple will kick out ISKCON devotees and bring in disciples of Rama Krishna, which will be the crowning glory of the GBC! We did it!
