Madhu Pandit Dasa Meets GBC Leaders

By: Akincana Staff Posted on December 6, 2019

On Friday, Dec 6, 2019, Madhu Pandit Prabhu was at the ISKCON Temple in Delhi, East of Kailash, to discuss with Gopal Krishna Maharaja, Anuttama and Bhakti Charu Swami about the possibility of coming back to ISKCON. Bhakti Vaibhava Maharaja was also present.

Madhu Pandit Prabhu was received with great respect. In the temple, he received a garland at the altar of each of the Deities in Delhi (Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, Sri Sri Radha Partha Sarathi Lalita-Vishakha, and Sri Sri Sita Rama Laxman Hanuman). And he was given the honor of offering a special garland to Srila Prabhupada. He was also given the honor or performing a special arati for Sri Sri Radha-Partha Sarathi. Madhu Pandit Prabhu was accompanied by five or six of his own associates, which included one sannyasi from his own mission.

It is known that ISKCON leaders and Madhu Pandit Prabhu have been in recent talks to bring Madhu Pandit Prabhu’s mission based in Hare Krishna Hill, Bengaluru, back into ISKCON. The grand reception of Madhu Pandit Prabhu suggests that the Hare Krishna Hill mission will be soon rejoining ISKCON.

It is also an open question as to whether bringing the Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Hare Krishna Hill, Bengaluru, back into ISKCON will mean accommodating the so-called “ritvik” system initiations within ISKCON. This system is based on an interpretation of a letter dated July 9th, 1977, from Srila Prabhupada authorizing eleven of his leading disciples to give initiation to others on Srila Prabhupada’s behalf without first obtaining Srila Prabhupada’s permission.

The followers of this system today believe that Srila Prabhupada intended it to supersede any prior systems and should be practiced indefinitely after Srila Prabhupada’s disappearance. Mainstream ISKCON however continues to follow the convention that the passing of the spiritual master gives implicit permission for disciples to begin accepting their own disciples. Accepting the Hare Krishna Hill mission back into ISKCON would likely mean that the GBC would allow devotees to follow either system.

It is also likely that Madhu Pandit Prabhu will be made a full GBC member, just as Radhanatha Swami was made a GBC member in 1994 on bringing his League of Devotees Temples into ISKCON.

As per the GBC resolutions of that year, “13. That the GBC Body unanimously welcomes HH Radhanatha Swami and the League of Devotees Temples back to ISKCON. 14. That HH Radhanatha Swami is appointed as an assistant GBC and initiating guru, provided the United States Government does not indict him in its case now pending against Kirtanananda Swami.”

It is expected that the GBC will enact similar legislation in their coming Annual General Meeting in 2020 to welcome Madhu Pandit Prabhu’s network of temples and projects into ISKCON.

Note: An earlier version of this article had stated that accommodating the ritvik system of initiations had been part of the discussions in Delhi, but a source has since informed us that accommodating the ritvik system of initiations had up to now not been a part of their discussions.

[PADA: First of all, these are not "recent conversations." The GBC and Madhu Pandit dasa have been fighting over this issue since 1997. The idea that Madhu Pandit's people would all of a sudden accept worshiping the GBC's gurus is unlikely from my own conversations and dealings with members of that sabha.

Meanwhile, since 1997 the GBC itself has become more and more de facto ritvik, telling their people that their GBC guru may fall down -- self evidently because he is not on the absolute platform. And thus they are telling their people to emphasize connection to Srila Prabhupada, which is ritvik through the back door.

There are all too numerous lectures by GBC gurus, including from Bhakti Caru swami, Bhakti Vikas swami, Badrinarayan swami and others -- telling ISKCON people that they need to connect with Srila Prabhupada primarily. At the same time, there has been a lot of internal fighting over whether Radhanath is authorized to be an ISKCON acharya, including there has been a lot of internal fighting over his writings and his process of burying deviants in the dham etc. So the GBC itself is not united on "who is a guru" in their own process.

Meanwhile, since it is also self evident that taking sins without authority makes people get sick, fall down, and / or have gigantic tail spins into madness and scandals, or even die prematurely, the GBC is finding it harder and harder to recruit more of their alleged messiah like gurus. They got this poor guy Kadamba swami to agree to take other people's sins and act like he is another Jesus, but he is already suffering from a form of cancer. OK they are trying to kill the poor guy by loading him up with the sins of others. And this is the only type guy they can get to take up the role of sin absorbing Jesus like messiahs these days?

After Ramesvara blooped some GBC members like Badrinarayan wrote a paper saying we need to tell the new devotees they are the property of Srila Prabhupada, and not the GBC guru. OK that is the ritvik process.

The GBC has wrote all sorts of by-laws on what to do when your GBC guru is falling, deviating, drinking Vodka, blooping etc. and they even recruited Gaura Govinda Maharaja to write a 1988 paper saying your GBC guru might be an asura (demon). So if their GBC gurus might also be demons, its a sign that the GBC itself has a vote of "no confidence" in their own gurus, because they themselves admit their gurus could also be demons.

Meanwhile Jayadvaita swami sums up that their ISKCON gurus may be found "engaged in illicit sex with men, women and children." Wow, so the only forbidden activity for their messiahs is -- sex with goats? How can anyone agree to participate in a guru lineage that is apparently having illicit sex with anyone in the ISKCON house? First of all, why would any sincere devotee of Krishna want to worship a self-admitted "illicit sex with men, women and children" guru sampradaya? That is an insult to India's culture, because everyone else is saying Krishna's lineage of acharyas are great saints and not horribly deviated debauchees.

Meanwhile Madhu Pandit's GBC guru Jayapataka seems to be suffering terrible results from taking karma and its also unlikely people are going to all of a sudden start thinking Jayapataka is another Jesus like messiah capable of absorbing their sins. Meanwhile the GBC is splitting into battling factions over the appointment of female diksha gurus.

So even if Madhu Pandit or anyone else was to start "working with" the GBC going forward, one part of the GBC followers is saying they are going to sue the other part of the GBC over female gurus. So its unlikely the GBC will even be able to resolve their own conflicts before they can bring in another issue of conflict, like allowing ritviks into part of their process. They cannot even agree on what is their own process?

Anyway lets see what happens.

It seems to us that the GBC is in a weaker and weaker position all the time. And we got some recent exchanges where they are arguing like cats and dogs over Rathayatra dates. So, they are splintered, thus its hard to see which part of the GBC will act as the actual representation of the GBC. Meanwhile, the book "The Eleven Naked Princes" is already a top seller on Amazon in the Hindu literature department. It seems like the GBC's credibility is falling off more and more on a daily basis, which gives them less and less leverage in any negotiations.

We are not sure if these recent meetings have been confirmed, or what these meetings are actually about, and what is being agreed to if anything. So we'd like to have some confirmation as to the nature and substance of these meetings, and if anyone wants to send details they can:

  1. The GBC spent apparently around $20,000,000 suing Bangalore in the Delhi supreme court. They probably know by now, they are not going to win this despite their followers told me they would spend $100,000,000 suing Bangalore.

Sometimes, simply spending money does not make a person right. Meanwhile elderly ex-book distributors here have to go out in the rain and collect money selling usa flags while they have parkinsons. There is no money to help these people. ys pd
