PADA: A devotee mother has been told her children won't be allowed at an ISKCON children's school, evidently because -- she is a vocal advocate for children. She has made a campaign to remove a molester from the guru post and other posts of authority in ISKCON, and they are evidently targeting her as a trouble maker.
This is a big part of the problem. It seems anyone who advocates for children is targeted for shunning, banning, removing, and of course this mother has got some threatening messages implying she will meet violence. Thus, it looks very cult-like to an outside observer. Unless ISKCON welcomes these children advocates and bans the molesters and / or their molester gurus, this problem will not be resolved.
She is going to place her kids in the regular -- government managed -- "karmi" school system and to be honest, we think that is the best option at the present time. If her kids are in the ISKCON school -- they might be trained to believe that God's successors / acharyas / Jesus - like saints / gurus / parampara members are often engaged in illicit sex and drugs, and / or that the parampara from God is an assortment of porno swamis, drunks and criminals.
That is not a good way to train children. Even the karmi schools have a much higher standard than this lot. It shows that in all this time, sectors of ISKCON are still punishing child welfare advocates, and their children.

KD: Am I shocked and surprised? No. This is their standard operating procedure the whole time. Whistleblowers are punished. Nothing changes with these people. They even keep telling us they have fixed it already.
ReplyDelete"We had a reform" ... where we voted in a bunch more fools as gurus. There has been no real reform or change. Keep your kids in the secular school ... that is the best plan. This only shows how they are afraid of someone holding them accountable. They don't want to be held to a higher standard.
In case no one noticed ... their main reformer was Ravindra swarupa, and he has fizzled out. Their new reformer has been Bhakti Vikas swami, but he won't even attack Basu Ghosh and the ICC. Now they are stuck with no real reform complaints department.
