[PADA: I am not sure how bad this current mess really is, but it is self evident that the artificial fertilizing, insecticides, and factory level agriculture "machine farming" process cannot last forever. Never mind floods, droughts, soil depletion, and natural problems are increasing. At the same time -- oil prices are rising, and the modern farming process requires lots of it. At the same time America's bread basket, i.e. California's central valley, is experiencing a severe water shortage crisis.
So there will eventually be some sort of global food crisis, whether sooner or later. Of course many nations are already in a food supply crisis. Yes, Srila Prabhupada said this would happen and we need our own farms.
Anyway this might be something to ponder. ys pd]
