[PADA: Unfortunately, the leaders of ISKCON decided to make themselves the "guru successors" to Srila Prabhupada, when clearly they were not ever appointed as such, nor were they ever qualified for that post. Lots of bad things resulted.
One of the most horrific results of their regime has been the widespread abuse of women and children, which is something PADA has made into a sort of our own "cause celebre." I have been criticized that I am 100 percent fully endorsing everything in Henry's books, which is not correct. Of course, then again I rarely 100 percent agree with anyone else either.
That being said, I have helped him and a number of others including "professional authors," TV and news media people, and other devotees who have made their own videos, web sites and documentaries on ISKCON. And I helped contribute to those efforts because I feel it is better to try to assist and get the story as correct as possible.
In any event, what happened in ISKCON's bogus guru cults needs to be understood as accurately as possible, and Henry's books document a whole lot of New Vrindavan events better than almost anyone else would or could. We need to understand how we got to the present situation, and our history is a sort of eye-witness guide.
Kirtanananda's was also perhaps our worst case bogus guru cult after 1978, so understanding his program sort of makes our present mess much easier to understand. Anyway, it is what it is. For people who want the book -- it is currently on AMAZON. As one devotee said to me, ISKCON has had the good, the bad, the ugly, and the unthinkably diabolical awful. ys pd
