Ramesvara das et al. Book Changes Discussion

Robert Grant (Ramesvara das) Srila Prabhupada said to not change the art on the cover of Šrí Isopanisad. These other covers would not be approved by Srila Prabhupada. Unfortunately the current publishers simply had no training by Srila Prabhupada in respect to publishing His Divine Grace’s books. Their lack of direct association with Srila Prabhupada and with his senior trained BBT disciples is appalling on display and is embarrassing

I feel so sorry for them
Their aspiring servant
Ramesvara dasa

Patita Pavana Das
Right on. I saw a video of a seat of a ferris wheel just fly off with the riders. Anyone who would approve those covers with broken non-worshiped Deties is like that--just flying to their doom. Indeed they are to be pitied. hope your operation was successful That was not a small thing.

One of the problems is that when person in leadership position "falls down" the newcomers try to erase his influence for all time. They see the spot on the Moon, not the old experience. Why do they not listen to you? Look how Bhagavan was able to obtain castles all over the US and Europe. Why should his expertise not be consulted?

Hansadutta was great at publishing. He should have been encouraged. Why is Rupanuga's advice ignored? What is wrong with giving an ear to the voice of experience that will not be here much longer. Should all of these old devotees be swept under the rug in the name of progress? Even you printed books from an entire train of paper. Why should this be ignored?
ES: Patita Pavana Das growing up next to Chicago, this whole catastrophe brings out the Elliot Ness in me, then on bad days It brings out the Al Capone who loves to show the New York mafia what he's about, and beat em at their own game, maybe if some fanatical brahmacaries who swear loyalty to the king of edits were to hijack a temple, even a small one out in the boonies and attempt to remove the murti of Srila Prabhupada and replace with a picture of their leader, it may get the attention of Iskcon management.

As Kaliyuga progresses and as warped and untrained in Srila Prabhupada's divine instructions, this could happen when the Acharya's position as absolute is ignored. That's why this has to stop!!! Bas... get back to the pure simplicity of Srila Prabhupada's original books where his words enter the heart and bring joy, solace, hope, inspiration and a solid spiritual strength and understanding of the Supreme personality of Godhead along with all His expansions, attributes and explanations of how and why, confusion illusion dispelled, submission in surrender in all humility as the param example Srila Prabhupada set, in how to serve Guru and how to love Radha and Krsna. Nitai Gaura Premanandi! Sri Harinam Sankirtan Kirtan of Srila Prabhupada's original books Ki Jaya!!

RS: Robert Grant This is so important. Besides the controversies of the editing changes, the graphic art and approved internal art should not be changed. Srila Prabhupada was directly involved with all aspects of his books, including the artwork. The BBTI seem to have more confidence in the advice of mundane book publishers rather than consult with those devotees like your good self who were directly trained by Srila Prabhupada. They will be brought before the court of Yamaraja and be condemned for their impudence. I also feel sorry for them and their misuse of managerial power, all in the name of serving and protecting Prabhupada’s vani legacy within his books.
Torben Nielsen: Patita Pavana Das expresses to Ramesvara Robert Grant prabhu, "Why do they not listen to you?" Well prabhu, it may very well be because Ramesvara himself has not made his mind up. Is he for or against changing the books? On one hand he presents Srila Prabhupada's very strong orders not to change, on the other hand Ramesvara promotes the fake gita and other books and eulogizes those who distribute as heroes.

SS: Torben Nielsen Does sound rather iffy...

Torben Nielsen:
Iffy indeed.

[PADA: When Kirtanananda was whacked over the head with a pipe, Patita Pavana came to the Berkeley temple to hold a kirtan to help "Srila Bhaktipada" recover. And he thought I was bogus for opposing the GBC guru process. We all know how the "Bhaktipada is the messiah" experiment went off the rails.

In other words he was supporting the wrong side, and at the same time trying his best to give me grief. Now he seems to have woke up in part, but he was hanging out with some of the biggest bogus guru leaders in Eastern Europe not that long ago.

As for Torben, he is simply still a 1980 clone head disciple of Ramesvara and he has never gotten past that. In 1980 some disciples of Ramesvara said that our idea to worship Srila Prabhupada is "the Christian idea" and Torben still says that now. Torben has not even figured out, its no longer 1980, and these living gurus are proven to be frauds. Nor has Torben been able to prove that worship of Krishna and His pure devotees is "the bogus idea," by citing any shastra.

We need to worship the acharya, and the Vedas don't say we cannot worship the acharya because its "the bogus Christian idea," anywhere. Rather Ramesvara's people said that, and Torben is now their parrot. Torben has to quit licking the jack boots of the molester messiahs program and quit being their best trained hand maiden.

Worse, Torben censors, blocks and removes and kicks off forums anyone who discusses these issues. He is defending the book changers in that way because we were among the first people to publicly write about the changed books, and so he bans us but allows book changers on his forum. He is still mainly with them.

Same problem we have with the Sanat / Mukunda / Prahlad / HKC Jaipur et al, they find out that PADA is promoting the original guru and his original books, so they start a petition to have us removed from the internet. They make zero petitions to remove their illicit guru guru process / changed books pals from the internet. Its always the same thing with all these folks, promoting the right idea is banned and blocked, promoting the wrong idea is allowed.

As for Ramesvara, he says a few good things here and there, but he has not really come out guns a blazing to challenge the changed books the way he should be doing. Nor is he really exposing / challenging the bogus guru process the way he should be doing. I don't think he is fully repenting.]

==========================

NK Das said: Any book distributor who braved the streets did it for Srila Prabhupada and not some uneducated over zealous editors. This is also a crime against the book distributors.

PADA: Yes, there are so many people who distributed books and they feel betrayed by the changed books. Buddhimanta was my friend and he was one of the best book distributors we had, and he told me he lost all enthusiasm to distribute. That is one reason the book distribution figures went way down, in part because, the distributors lost their enthusiasm.

I also know more than a few other book distributors like Mula Prakriti, she also told me she lost enthusiasm to keep distributing. So the whole plan to flood the world with Krishna consciousness has been disrupted by these types of changes. And its also a fact, the people who originally began to distribute Bibles in Medieval time were persecuted by the Church. Even Martin Luther said his life is in danger since he was making little pamphlets with Bible quotes.

A devotee told me its like George Orwell novels, the original scriptures are held in a safe and the people have no access. The good news is, in our case, the people want access. I am friends with some former distributors here and they have an apartment, where there are only original books, they find them in used book stores. ys pd]

K Dasi:
I have always respected and admired your work Garuda / Graham M. Schweig especially in the world of Sanskrit, but this work you are doing now, will be how I remember you!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trying to keep some purity in our books, and the beautiful expressions of Srila Prabhupada that make the flavor of his books so sweet, powerful, and bring his spirit to life each time we read.

His books, his words are his manifestation,...so its like they are trying to do plastic surgery on his face to get to some kind of 'perfection'? His form, is present in his words, and it is perfect, just the way he is.

Dhanesvara Das: The trust still exists. However, at this time there are no trustees. Under "color of law" some GBC established a look-alike organization, a corporation BBTI, not a trust, which acts as if they own the copyrights.

The problem is that the only actual trustee, Hansadutta, was pushed into stepping down as a trustee with the agreement that he would have the right to publish the pre-78 books and distribute them around the world, under license as Krishna Books, Inc., or KBI. (what happened to KBI is another story).

As part of that agreement the BBTI was supposed to pay a cash settlement, but they never did. Therefore Hansadutta claimed that the agreement was thus null and void and that he continued to be a BBT trustee, although he was unable to establish this legally.

The proper BBT can be reestablished by the beneficiaries of the trust, establishing it once again with proper trustees. That will take a LOT of money because it is expected that the BBTI will fight it every step of the way.

This entire saga is detailed in my book "Divine Or Demoniac? Spiritual Movements and the Enemies Within"

BG: After the invention of printing, brave men and women distributed the Bible in Britain and the Continent. The established powers of church and state tortured and executed people for Bible distribution. Are you serving God or man? You have only ONE choice. Do you have a clue what to do next?

G Dasi: I have heard this before and find it the ultimate act of impersonalism. Grand theft of the highest order and a stab in His heart! One would have to be cold and heartless to even consider putting this in writing for any reason. Srila Prabhupada has been abused by this unconscionable insult and on top that minimized by a so called successor. But in spite of this He rises above all as the one who delivered the holy names, Bhagavad Gita as it is, Srimad Bhagavatam, CC etc to the modern world. Ultimately No one can take anything away from Him.

D. Dasi Absolutely! If these people who stated author for hire are honest then they would know they would not have to say such things about our divine spiritual master… All they have to do is speak the truth always if they are thoroughly honest. There would've been no reason to make devious statements. No such thing as making false devious claims to protect the truth! Twisted application

PADA: There are many people, easily hundreds, who write to my blog over the years and report to me that they only read originals, but they cannot tell anyone at the temple that they prefer originals. They will be summarily banned, and one woman just now said they started making rumors about her personal life to make her unwanted and shunned, all because she reads original books. Its astonishing that people would ban from the Church, anyone who is quoting and reading Jesus original words?

Therefore, the latest comments we are getting are, this virus problem is a gift from Krishna to de-fund ISKCON, so they will no longer have millions of dollars on hand to sue and harass our people. The fact that various people are happy ISKCON is being de-funded speaks for itself how totally unacceptable and unpopular their changed books are. Anyway, the good news is, more people are asking me about originals, its a trending wave in the devotee population.

Another devotee just wrote to tell me the changed books are a virus, and we have to get rid of the virus to cure ISKCON. The fact people think this way is self-evident disapproval of the current status quo. ys pd

  1. PADA: Many devotees never saw the July 9th letter, or actually any letters, they were hidden and only published around 1985 by Radha Krishna das. So the last will, the conversations, the letters, eye-witness accounts, all hidden, including instructions on how the books should not be changed. A lot of what people quote now was not available widely, or at all. The conversations books were only 1,000 copies and I was lucky to get a set, and the conversations reveal a lot of instructions that most devotees have no idea were ever established. ys pd
