(Eric Johanson) Pranams. Jaya Srila Prabhupada. So a week ago Saturday my one-time, so-called spiritual master, Hansadutta dasa left his body. I was fortunate in that I was one of the first to see through him, and later, by the kindness of the late Sulocana dasa's booklet, The Guru Business, to see through the entire GBC ecclesiastical "guru" pretense. I also later benefited in 1988 from the good counsel of Kailasa Candra Dasa (the primary editor of The Guru Business) to request and receive verbal permission from any and all vows I had taken under the not-so-spiritual authority of Hansadutta dasa, first, second and sannyasa.
Although many may disagree, due to my being involved in selling Hansadutta's beloved Mt. Kailasa Farm in Northern California, I never really lost my affection for him through all his scandals and about faces. In 1984 I had become fully aware of Hansadutta's spiritual troubles through then Mt. Kailasa temple president, the German-bodied Ripugna prabhu (ACBSP), who was then doing his level best to help Hansadutta, who was living at the farm.
I did my best to continue this help when I later became temple president in 1985 until Hansadutta, upon feeling that his sinful activities may have been partly responsible for Kirtanananda "swami's" bludgeoning by Triyogi dasa, left for New Vrindavana abruptly in September.
[PADA: Triyogi wanted to become a guru, and Kirtanananda was blocking recommending him. So Triyogi became infuriated and whacked Kirtanananda with a rebar pipe on the head. This really had only indirectly to do with Hansadutta, because he was one of the people claiming that conditioned souls can be gurus, so other people wanted to jump on the "Jesus wanna-be" train. If fools can be acharyas, then hey, make me one as well! Of course the GBC says "anyone can be guru," but only if you have the official rubber stamp of the guru sabha.]
Kirtanananda had apparently convinced Hansadutta to become a devotee in 1966 at 26 Second Ave. Hansadutta, a legendary cook, personally trained me and was always kind to me, even when I pointed out at a 1985 zonal manager's meeting that he shouldn't be allowed to again take over the management due to not following the 4 regs., something virtually all the others were unaware of. I was visibly shaking when I pointed that out.
[PADA: Actually a number of Hansadutta people knew he was not following the regulations. One of his disciples told me Hansadutta coerced her into getting a percodan medication to give to him. She was worried that this was not legal, and she might get into trouble.
Rohini Kumar swami held a big fire sacrifice behind the Berkeley temple to rid Hansadutta of alleged evil black magic spells -- being made by some of the other gurus in Mayapura and their tantric ghost buster -- to make Hansadutta fall down so they could take over his zone. Wow, so Hansadutta thinks the spiritual sky is full of acharyas who are really demons who are placing black magic curses on other gurus. Why is Hansadutta ilk saying God's successors are maybe black magic demons?
No one seemed to notice that gurus are not making black magic curses on other gurus, or that gurus are falling down into maya due to black magic curses etc. Hansadutta had some sentimental attachment for Kirtanananda, but if he was part of the 1966 26 Second Ave. New York Temple, how did Hansadutta not know that Kirtanananda had homosexual tendencies, and a tendency to defy Srila Prabhupada? And why would Hansadutta say Kirtanananda is a pure devotee, knowing he has these mundane afflictions? And if Hansadutta knew that the other gurus are black magic demons, why was he still trying to get into their club by linking with Kirtanananda?]
After his leaving his body last week much has been made of Hansadutta prabhu's public 1993 apology for his zonal acarya involvement through Urdvaga prabhu and his shame for being overcome by pratista, or desire for authority. Of course, this is to be praised, but the question that remains is whether it fully cleansed his heart. Did he truly get back to what Kailasa likes to call the "square one" level of regret, of being willing to do anything for Krishna, even scrub the pots, as my friend the book distributor Sulocana prabhu, put it today? In other words, did Lord Krishna accept the 1993 apology as enough to avoid the reactions of so many years of "spiritual master business" that ruined the lives of hundreds, including a number of Godbrothers and sisters?

His temple was raided by the police; he was arrested for having a machine gun; he was arrested for drunk on the plane; he was shooting four guns at occupied buildings full of people and so on. And he was encouraging all sorts of criminals and criminal behaviors, all of these events were duly posted in national newspapers read by millions of people all over the planet.
In short, Hansadutta was doing everything humanly possible to make Hare Krishna religion look like a small time criminal and Mafia gangster program, and to make Krishna look like the God of the ruffians, thieves, sexual predators and dangerous crooks. And he did a good job (for Satan?), devotees and regular people avoided the temple like the plague thinking its a haven for criminals. Sulochana said even if ISKCON hired a professional advertising and public relations company and paid them a million dollars, they could never have given Krishna as bad a name as people like Hansadutta were doing.
Sulochana said we don't even have to pay Hansadutta to give Krishna a bad name, he is doing that at his service to Kali Yuga to degrade the entire human society and take them to the lower regions, where he is going. Of course we also have some people writing me that these guys are all part of some child molesting, child kidnapping, child sacrificing, child blood sucking cannibal death cult. And that is why Mayesvara has come to their defense? Hee hee! Why would anyone even think that is what they are in the first place?
And! Sulochana said that the demons are always trying to give Krishna a bad name, and these guys are past master experts at dong just that. So devotees are being banned, beaten, molested, sued and shot to death, and Hansadutta is at the same time making horrible public publicity for Krishna, so both the devotees and the regular mundane folks are getting totally burnt to toast and want to stay a million miles away from the Krishna religion. OK they are turning people away from Krishna.
This is sometimes called burning the candle at both ends. Scorched Earth policy. The devotees got fried, the regular people got fired, and Hansadutta was drinking Vodka, peppermint schnapps, taking percodan -- and having a party with various ladies. Wooo hooo, are we having fun yet? Meanwhile the Vaishnavas are being banned, beaten, molested, sued and killed, what kind of party is that?]
My humble opinion is that unless Hansadutta made a major leap in sincerity at the time of death, that he still had a ways to go regarding his pratista.
[PADA: Correct, simply apologizing is good, but the people who died and the people who he turned away from Krishna had their lives turned upside down by his nefarious actions. He could not even count the number of lives he messed up permanently, never mind go to each of these persons to beg forgiveness.
And the devotees who died could not appreciate his apology anyway, they were gone. So apologies are always a good start, but that does not solve the damage done. If a person apologizes in court, sure he gets a lighter sentence, but he still has to go to jail. He cannot apologize for shooting the people in the bank robbery, then go home like nothing happened, he will still be punished severely.
The apology is only a minor aspect of the overall crime and punishment process, its only a small step and will not cure the overall situation. Hansadutta will have to answer for why he dedicated his life to ruining the name of God, which is a far worse crime than bank robbing even. The Isopanisad says its far better these false gurus never even heard of the Vedas, their punishment is far worse than the ordinary man's.]
The 1993 apology also makes much of his acceptance of the 1988 era Rittvik deviation and being named by Srila Prabhupada as one of the appointees in 1977. In this regard, Hansadutta was under no order to personally continue these duties after Srila Prabhupada's departure, so there was little spiritual reason for him to accept the rittvik philosophy in the early 90's.
[PADA: Well it really does not matter the motive, the fact is, no one was appointed as guru, only as ritviks. Srila Prabhupada said they are not qualified to be gurus, and time has proven that in spades.]
It did however provide him with a grand opportunity to, under the guise of shamefully giving up his zonal acarya pratista, to simply assume a lower level pratista as a "non-guru" rittvik guru. He didn't have to change much to go from one artificial level of undeserved adulation to another. I doubt if he was capable of getting back to the level of being desperate to even wash pots for Krishna, even as death neared. No doubt some adulators were around him.

I was told by an astrologer that Hansadutta prabhu had Jupiter combust, something shown by his regular lack of regard for ethics and siddhanta. His encouragement of petty crime is well known, and his going from the zonal deviation through following Navadvipa's Sridhara Maharaja (which was probably the best of his disregards of Srila Prabhpupada's orders) to his final rittvik deviation destination does not speak well of finer discrimination. It would seem he is going to need some more lives to deal with the reactions and to get everything clear.
[PADA: To say these people are not gurus, and they were only given the status of agents or priests is not a deviation. They were never appointed as gurus, and there is no proof they ever were. The deviation is to say they were appointed as higher than functionairies or fallible priests. It is however VERY good that at least some of the Hansadutta disciples realized Srila Prabhupada is their guru, and they were able to progress, so we have to give him some credit for helping that. Yes, these leaders were only appointed as priests, anyone who thinks they were appointed as gurus is in severe illusion.]
Anyway, I hope I am wrong. Hansadutta prabhu had great love for Srila Prabhupada, as shown in any number of photographs where they were together. Surrendered to his guru, he was capable of fearless preaching and engaging his many abilities to make other conditioned souls devotees. I remain his well-wisher, albeit with little slack.

And that is why Srila Prabhupada said GBC post is very great, and misuse of that post if great punishment. Punishment means, they have to go to Yamaraja and take future births, and shastra says the births of false gurus is that they go to the most obnoxious regions. And Sulochana said that have to be sent to the most obnoxious regions because if they are on earth, they will ban, beat, molest, sue and kill us. They need to go down and have the key tossed away. I had been banned, beaten, knifed, shot at and thrown out of different temples by force, and in the Phillipines a fanatic Hansadutta follower (Ripughna) tried to kill me with a big bush-knife for preaching against his so-called guru (Hansadutta). I barely escaped with life.
Ripughna chased me out of the temple, running after me, madly wielding a bush-knife (Bolo), myself escaping to the main road, flagging down a car which brought me to Cebu-City where I was hiding in a guest house for three days. Later on I was told by one Devotee, that Uthal was ordered to liquidate Jitarati (who funded the Cebu Temple) and have his corpse disposed of into the ocean near Cebu-City. But Uthal's helper refused to do this.
Yes I am fighting these bogus Iskcon GBC/Guru rakshasas and fanatic devotees already since 1977right after Srila Prabhupadas disappearance, which I also witnessed. They hardly could wait for Srila Prabhupadas natural death and perhaps helped a little with arsenic poisoning, just to grab for immediate power and control.
Srila Praphupada did complain previously about being poisoned. Right afterwards they forced me to put flowers to their stinky feet in a simultaneous gurupuja saying that I have no more relationship with Srila Prabhupad since He died. They physically hindered me in my direct approach to Srila Prabhupadas Vyasasana. They said that my only connection to Srila Prabhupada is through them and their worship first.
So they physically forced and pushed me to first worship the eleven vyasasanas (occupied with living imitators) before I was allowed to approach Srila Prabhupadas. How audacious, what pigs, I hate them for this. Their 23 year reign of terror hopefully ends with the Turley case which I see as Krishnas arrangement. I hope Mr. Turley initiates a follow-up case, in which I can partake myself.
When I joined the movement, I was taught by Srila Prabhupada to see all of my god-sisters as mothers. That was a nice arrangement, because Mothers, who bring up the children are automatically respected and loved. Similarly, as you state, women where thought to see the male devotees as their sons, brothers and fathers, depending upon the service relationship.
However, when Srila Prabhupada left this world and Iskcons bogus successor gurus took over the movement, things changed completely for the worst. Since most of the new leaders are heavy homosexuals or even paedophiles, a whole molesters nest was created over the years, in which our children and mothers where systematically degraded and abused.
Since I personally have seen, experienced and witnessed these degradations over time, I can say first-hand that even today most of Iskcons leading devotees are heavy women-hater, and sadly I have to admit this as a man. How can you expect Iskcons homosexual and paedophiles, with Rakshasa mentality and uncontrolled genitals, to respect woman if they desire to rape children and suck their genitals??? Isn't it like telling pigs not to eat stool anymore. Try to tell them and see how they react.....
