Statement by Krishna Dharma Prabhu on the Lokanath Swami case:
Listening to the testimonies of our second generation regarding the abuse they received at the hands of older devotees brings tears to my eyes. I am literally shocked to the core by some accounts. How could so-called devotees be so heartless?
I am a father of three children and the thought of them receiving such treatment utterly reviles me. In fact, when my son was approaching five years old, my wife and I seriously considered sending him to gurukula in India. We met the sannyasi in charge, and he assured us it was the best possible choice for our son.
However, when other devotee parents with children in gurukula heard what we were contemplating, they exhorted us to change our mind, warning us of the very abuses we are now hearing about.
[PADA: What we said over and over and over -- lots of people knew about the child abuse and they were silent -- although to their small credit -- they might warn someone in private. That is why more than a few victims call this "a conspiracy of silence." And is has been. And this verifies that is has been.]
We listened to them, and now, after reading the letters posted by Sarasvati Devi from various senior devotees, we feel sure we made the right decision to not send our son.
[PADA: Ok but what about warning others who were in the process of sending their sons? Or who had already had sent their sons (or daughters). And what about the mother who just said -- sending your kid to them has been like -- sending a chick down the conveyor belt at the chicken factory, into the chopping blades machine at the end?]
It is a sad situation, made even worse by the derisory response so often received when these issues are raised with ISKCON’s leadership. It seems to be a litany of denial, minimisation, cover-up, victim-blaming, and general avoidance of responsibility. In the Mahabharata, it is said that Lord Brahma created power to protect the weak.
If abused, that same power destroys its abuser to the roots. The text goes on to say that if a weak person, being afflicted, cries out for protection and finds none, the divine rod of punishment descends on the king and all his ministers.
Virtue protects those who protect virtue, and destroys those who destroy it. Sooner or later, there is a reckoning. I am reminded of Srila Prabhupada speaking about Yamaraja in one class. He called him the ‘GBC of Krishna’ who, due to a small mistake, was punished to take birth on earth as Vidura. Prabhupada went on to say,
“There we have created these GBCs. So they should be very responsible men; otherwise, they will be punished. They will be punished to become a śūdra. Although Yamarāja is a GBC, but he made a little mistake, he was punished to become a śūdra. So those who are GBC, they should be very, very careful to administer the business of ISKCON. Otherwise they will be punished. As the post is very great, similarly, the punishment is also very great. [Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.13.15 -- June 4, 1974, Geneva / 740604SB.GEN]
I understand that our leaders want to protect the preaching and ensure the good reputation of ISKCON, but I think it is a miscalculation to not be thoroughly honest and transparent, acting with the highest integrity. That will always be respected, even if mistakes are made.
If there is an honest admission and acceptance of due consequence, no one will criticise. Surely as Krishna’s representatives we must evince the highest morality without a tinge of doubt. Just see how Lord Rama responded when there was not even a transgression committed. The merest suggestion of doubt in his integrity elicited an immediate and firm response, even though it broke his own heart.
Again, see how Lord Chaitanya responded to Chota Haridas, who had only committed but the slightest offense. Or even Lord Brahma, who after simply contemplating a sinful act gave up his body, considering it contaminated. Srila Prabhupada writes in that connection,
“The best way to compensate for one’s sinful acts is to give up one’s body at once, and Brahmā, the leader of the living entities, showed this by his personal example. Brahmā has a fabulous duration of life, but he was obliged to give up his body due to his grievous sin, even though he had merely contemplated it in his mind without having actually done it.” (SB 3.12.33)
Note how Srila Prabhupada calls Brahma’s mere contemplation a ‘grievous sin’. Okay, maybe we should not give up our bodies, which we can use in the Lord’s service, but surely we can give up some status and power, stand down and take a humble position if we have compromised our integrity. What is there to lose?
Devotional service does not depend upon external status. We can serve the Lord in any situation, heaven or hell. And if we please him, even try to please him, we will become glorious, without any doubt. But any glory achieved at the cost of truth will surely in time turn to infamy.
Anyway, I am just a humble soul, aspiring to serve the devotees, so please forgive me if I have given offense. I am merely speaking out of a desire to see ISKCON succeed and become the force for change that Srila Prabhupada wants. May the Lord bless us all with the right intelligence to succeed. Hare Krishna.
Your servant,
Krishna dharma das
[PADA: Well this is good, and it is more breaking of the ice. Krishna dharma verified what we said all along, lots of people knew about the child abuse -- but did not publicly contest the program (ok like we have done). Padmapani just now said -- we should call the police to arrest not only the perps, but anyone who knew about the abuse and acquiesced, all of them are equal criminals. Umm yep.
A woman was just now talking to us about how Rupanuga co-created the ISKCON pedophile guru worship cult that is now right on his doorstep in Alachua. Yet he cannot even do anything about his own co-creation since -- he put the pedophile's guru worship train throttle on full blast -- and removed the train's brake lever -- to the peril of the children, who almost all suffered when the GBC's / Rupanuga's -- "pedophile heaven" train -- crashed and burned -- and a bunch of the victims burnt to death, or died from other collateral causes.
It is literally almost no longer in the Dr. Frankenstein's monster creators grasp to contain the situation they helped start. Just like when an arsonist tries to put out the fire -- when he comes to realize a baby is inside the building he started to burn -- but -- maybe too little too late -- to save the baby. And the lady in the conversation added -- how can Sruta Kirti ask "what" he is supposed to take a stand on -- when kids are getting molested all over the place and pedophiles are sitting in Vyasa seats?
So all together, the Dr. Frankenstein pedophile messiah's / sexual predator guru's creators could not do much later on -- to control their own Frankenstein monsters. Just as Sridhar Maharaja lost control of the Ananta Vasudeva fiasco he started, after 1936. And thus Sridhar also could not contain the problems once the beatings and murders started. Of course, having some of them admit to the problem is a good start -- to begin the process of rectification. It is at least some relief for the victims as well. A drunk also cannot cure his problem, until he admits he is a drunk.
Anyway, these guys like Rupanuga and Sridhar Maharaja helped create their deviant if not pedophile guru monsters -- and then when they were trying to reign in their guru monster experiment somewhat -- almost to no avail -- because they let their bogus guru sh*t pile grow to such and extent, even they could not start to shovel it away. Or barely. So they were both stuck with that mess of sh*t, right on their own doorstep.
And that is why Alachua and / or Lokanath people are worried so much about losing Lokanath as their guru, because that would mean "the 1986 guru reform" was a false flag. And thus they have been STILL making deviants into acharyas -- again -- after getting rid of some of the first wave of deviants, they were once again placing more deviants into the second wave. Their whole guru reform program will be exposed as a fraud. And then -- wait for it -- more people will agree to the ritvik idea, i.e. worship the pure devotee.
A follower of Lokanath has wrote to PADA saying, well our guru is taking our sins. Ummm nope! A conditioned soul cannot take sins! Hello! And he said he might agree to get rid of Lokanath -- if they first of all get rid of Indradyumna, Badrinarayan, Malati and other "caucasian people" and not pick on "the brown people." OK, hee hee, good idea, except two wrongs don't make a right. Just because some of the other gurus are deviating does not give a license to Lokanath to also deviate and claim to be guru.
Then this guy said -- wait for it -- why are you ritviks always picking on the ISKCON gurus? Oh right -- we should allow children to worship pedophiles as their gurus -- and not worship a pure devotee -- even when we see all the damage that is doing to children. Really?
Anyway, this is turning out to be some sort of a meltdown in the ISKCON circles. Question? Do I stay with Lokanath's guru club -- and look like a pedophile guru lover? Or get rid of him, which threatens to dismantle his zone -- which he stole from Prabhupada in the first place? Things are getting interesting.
In sum, thanks Krishna dharma das, you knew there was a problem a long time ago. What we said was going on!
Thus, another piece of the molester messiah's cub situation's puzzle falls into place. It is starting to come together, piece by piece. What we said was going on all along -- is -- unfortunately -- starting to become established as factual. We wish our history version would not have had to end this way. But as shastra says, no one can re-write history.

Vimuktasanga Das: Krishna Dharma. I’m happy that your son probably dodged a bullet there prabhu. I also took my son out of gurukula when I had doubts. I’ve even been told several times by gurukula teachers from Europe and India, that he wouldn’t have stood a chance being a pretty boy.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of sending small children across the world into the care of institutions just seems barbaric now. What were we thinking? Or not thinking might be more appropriate. And regarding the GBC that I’ve always respected ... When there is a system where leaders are for life, like the US Supreme Court or GBC or Communist Politburos. There is no sense of democracy, which on the one hand we deride but on the other hand we value.
In some cases it’s needed. The GBC should only serve a term like 4-5 years. With the opportunity of re election if they do well. The GBC members should be elected from communities.
Community members should have a vote but not necessarily everyone. Those in good standing only. This would provide an opportunity where wise men like yourself have the chance to represent the International community. And be accountable for blatant failures. Without this there is a tendency for GBC to tow the party line and not rock the boat. Do what is best for Iskcon and it’s image. Never mind the victims. Try to remain in power and influence which is guaranteed anyway.
GBC for life sounds like a mafia of made men. Goodfellas. I understand Prabhupada didn’t want that.
WHO IS KRISHNA DHARMA? He is a student of His Divine Grace A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (Srila Prabhupada), the Founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and author of many widely acclaimed English translations of the Vedic scriptures.
ReplyDeleteKrishna Dharma’s aim is to make these teachings accessible and relevant to today’s world. His motto is ‘Spiritual Solutions for Material Problems’, which sums up his mission, namely to address the multitude of dilemmas faced by society with the profound instructions given by the great sages of ancient times.
[PADA: Thanks for that prabhu, so ... he is not a ritvik? But he only advertises that he is a follower of Prabhupada? That is ritvik de facto. He has no other guru advertised on his site. So this is what has been happening gradually -- the focus has been going to Srila Prabhupada in any event. ISKCON is gradually shifting towards emphasis on Srila Prabhupada and not these 80 odd "2/3 show of hands voted in gurus," who keep falling down left, right and center, and who created huge scandals and bankruptcy for ISKCON. People are losing faith in the false guru process. If he thinks one of the GBC gurus are actually pure devotees who can absorb sins like Jesus, who does he think that is? And one follower of Lokanath wrote to tell me Lokanath is absorbing the sins of his followers, hee hee, sorry, he is not another Jesus and a lot of people want him removed.
Lets see how all this evolves, but if more and more people are not advertising the gurus from the molester messiah's project, and they are advertising Prabhupada, that is a good start. It is de facto what we said should have been done from the get go in 1978. Ask Krishna dharma what he thinks now, and let me know. ys pd]
LD: Padmapani says -- "If these people knew about the molesting and did not report it, that is a crime itself." The real question is ... how did they not know? They have been the administration of the institution. All of these top crust managers ... part of that managing system.
ReplyDeleteThese swamis and leaders must have been hearing so many complaints ... and they just tossed these complaints into the trash. Don't send you kids ... and you do not raise the alarm to the other parents of the other kids? That is how all of this happens. Lots of them knew ... and they covered it up.
I agree with Padmapani: cover up ... that is a crime itself. That means ... almost all of these people are actually criminals ... the gurus and their foot soldiers. Vimuktisangha also says he was told not to send his kids ... but did he raise the alarm? So if we multiply "many people knew but did nothing" by the thousands ... that giant molesting camp is what resulted. Those who helped and those who covered up are all part of the same criminal program. Different sides of the same coin. How can it be any other way? The corrupt ... and those who enable the corrupt ... are one unified problem. They are one and the same ... a criminal operation. One cannot work without the other. Justice for the victims would include ... accounting the enablers ... as well as the predators.
LD: He wants ISKCON to have success. How can ISKCON have any success ... when the successors to Krishna they promote ... are a bunch of bozo clowns? Who do not even know basic wrong and right.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes ... that is the most respectful term I can think of. If the average person knows ... pedophiles are not gurus ... then the average person needs to be put in charge ... and get rid of the lot of them.
Krishna Dharma does not spell out exactly ... what he thinks needs to be done. And they never say what needs to be done in real terms. Fluff ... no actual substantial plan. How de we recover from all this ... with no specific plan? Like for example ... get rid of the pedophile gurus and the whole operation that feeds them. We never really have any plan "B" so the bogus plan "A" keeps going.
He needs to tell us what do they plan to do now ... no more window dressing.
