Ananta Ram Das: *Hare Krishna friends* I feel at peace to have been relieved from my altar service at New Raman Reti after voicing my concerns about the administration's unwillingness to accept that they made a mistake in allowing a confessed child molester (Lokanath Swami in his 40s touching an 11-year old girl's genitals) to lecture on spiritual topics and have access to minors. I have often given ISKCON the benefit of the doubt, but the cabal of enablers is alive and well. As a steward of children in our community, I must distance myself from that environment while continuing to advocate for the protection of children.

S Dasi: ARD it's incredibly disheartening as someone who has grown up in ISKCON since 1978, to see that the physical and emotional welfare of children is still not a worthy enough cause. Incredibly disheartening and saddening.
ARD: Pedophile enablers protect their own. They'd rather protect a "swami" to avoid committing "offenses", than protect a child. Or children in general.

[PADA: The GBC promotes worship of a porno watching swami in a samadhi, and has little children worshiping their pedophile and porno swami's samadhi program. And Mukhya, Kalakantha etc. are all part of that cabal, at least evidently.]
A Dasi: ARD I have heard about this. In general I have found that within any temple community are unwholesome things going on. I believe it is best for sincere parents within a community to come together and surround their kids. Fortunately I have found my community of families.
The school runs completely separately and with high standards upheld by sincere devotees. I do not believe it is at all wrong to step away from service within a group that doesn’t hold the values you feel are both wholesome and devotional. Nor do I feel it is wrong to keep the service you do at a distance from other efforts that may have competing agendas. For instance, your service as a protective father may not work so well with a program that presumably needs to facilitate people who may endanger your children.
I don’t know this specific situation. I am speaking generally. You can bring together a community of devotees that understand your standards and support you in speaking out and doing the necessary to keep your children and other children’s world as protected as possible. I cannot speak on many of these situations as I do not have personal evidence. But if there is evidence, you should always be able to voice concerns. Not being able to voice concerns in a group is not healthy. It doesn’t have to be condemnation. But not being able to voice them at all is nonsensical, especially when the safety of children in the mix.
Either way. If a person did do something like this, why is it a condemnation to not put them in leadership roles? The point of Krishna consciousness is that you can serve in a variety of ways. Wouldn’t an advanced and humble servant be ok with whatever service they are given? If someone is advanced enough to lead and give class, could they not also be humble enough to respect other devotees concerns and find a service that doesn’t worry others?
I am probably preaching to the choir here. I support the effort to break the pattern of sweeping things under the rug. Be well Prabhu. Your kids are fortunate for your protective mood.

PADA: Yes the policy is to enable molesters ... all along. And it is the reason I got booted out ... for protesting the lack of children protection. These people need to be exposed -- and thus we are very happy that so many more folks are joining us in doing so. We need to make protecting ISKCON children the first priority.
First of all, sexual predators, drunkards, debauchees, porno swamis, pedophiles, criminals etc. are not, were not, and could not have been -- God's guru successors. And anyone who does not understand that point needs to be removed from any post of authority, especially a post of authority over children.
We are glad more and more people are resigning and quitting serving them, we need to stop enabling and empowering their child molesting worship cult. It seems like just about every day we get another person to give up on their process and switch over to ours. Krishna is helping here no doubt.
Now some ISKCON guy just wrote to complain that I am "firing up a bunch of feminist women to attack the ISKCON men swamis." Well hee hee, the women warriors are out there on the battlefield. Where are you? You are great big tough man -- and legendary fighter in your own mind -- but you are not fighting for the righteous cause, as they are.
And that means -- you failed. Women are very capable of figuring this stuff out, and we should not second guess their capabilities. They are also parts and parcels of Krishna and they have just as much right to express themselves as do the men. If more women than men are fighting, then you are not really qualified to claim to be a man, if you are not one of the fighters? Anyway, he is flipping out because he sees we are gaining momentum.

PADA: My good friend is a professional lawyer. Unfortunately, he only works on real estate disputes so he could not take our case. But he has a lot of overall court knowledge and his associates are criminal case lawyers etc. He is surprised ISKCON has not been sued for (A) "corrupting the morals of minors," by telling ISKCON's little children to worship debauchees, drunkards, sexual predators, pedophiles and various and assorted illicit sex deviants as their "messiahs from heaven," and / or to worship their associated enabling regime. No bona fide religion is allowed to train children to worship pedophiles as their messiahs, it is illegal because it is corrupting them morally. Next, he says that (B) training children to worship pedophiles as their gurus is for sure and certain "criminal fraud," because none of the ISKCON incorporation papers state that pedophile worship will be included as part of the teachings. He is totally shocked and very dismayed that no one has ever put their foot down on these problems, and they persist even now. And he says, all of the associated enablers, cheer leaders, sycophants, paid lackeys etc. should have also been included in a criminal fraud lawsuit, for aiding and abetting. ys pd

A friend in Alachua asked the temple management to reconsider their policy regarding letting Lokanath Swami come to the temple (he did initiations there a couple years ago). After a few exchanges, this was his most recent letter:

ReplyDeletePrabhupada canceled his program as a marriage maker already in 1972, he wanted families to live outside, "I am so much disgusted by this troublesome business of marriage" just like he also stopped his sannyasa program in 1977, "First of all there will be no sannyasi anymore". Same should be with children. ISKCON has no clue how to educate children, they just want to control people. Vaishnavas are mainly monk- or nun-like personalities without the facilities to properly maintain a family. Especially in the West where raising children requires tons of money. Now they have this program of sending Western families with their children to India. This is all chaotic and not what Prabhupada wanted. Prabhupada said, "The parents must take responsibility for their children, otherwise they should not have children". Not having children. Now they have many schools in India and also in London. But the teachers are not devotees. These schools follow the governmental curriculum otherwise they lose their licence. So de facto these children are trained as employees, to work like sudras for a boss. Same in Alachua, they actually do not know what to do with devotee children, there are no Vaishnava projects, nationwide farm projects crashed. They have no brain to educate children as entrepreneurs or finance professionals. They simply create sudras. So ISKCON should have nothing to do with child-rearing.
[PADA: Very few people from the USA even participate in ISKCON here or in India, and it is mostly a Hindu-ized program here and in India. The families in Mayapur are mostly European and Russian. So the GBC takes advantage of their ignorance. In any case, most people right now are avoiding India because of the virus program, which seems to be totally spinning out of control right now in India. Therefore it is looking more and more like India will be isolated for a long time, and the ISKCON program will just dry up more and more. Various countries are considering blocking people from India coming there, so the whole thing is really looking bad for ISKCON there. And therefore fewer and fewer children will be participating by natural reasons. At the same time I agree, many of the ISKCON children turned out to be very troubled people and the society does not have a good track record with raising them, and until that is fixed, better not to make batches and batches more. Probably not a bad idea. Anyway, the thing is that children will keep coming no matter what, we just have to do a better job of handling them. ys pd
