PADA: Yes, actually lots of people are still attracted to chanting Krishna's name. However, the numbers of people actually living in USA ISKCON temples seems to dwindle -- and thus its mainly a few annual festivals where lots of (outsider dwelling) people turn out. Same things happened in the Gaudiya Matha, their bogus gurus chased away most of the citizens, and then they had some annual festivals where more people attended.
Srila Prabhupada called this a sort of artificial "festival of fruits and flowers," because it was only being done here and there, and was not really solving the crisis that the mass of people had rejected the false guru process. Of course we do appreciate that at least something is going on sometimes, credit has to be given that at least this much is still allowed. And we do get nice inquiries from at least some of these types of folks, asking pretty good questions. So that is certainly a plus. ys pd
