Reincarnation

The first lesson of Bhagavad Gita as it is the eternity of the soul and the body is temporary.

"Never there was a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be"- B.G. 4.2

Krsna explains that we are eternal individuals. Our individuality existed in the past and our individuality will continue to exist in the future.

What happens at death.

Bhagavad Gita as it is explains in text 13 Chapter 2
.
"As the embodied soul continually passes in this body, from boyhood, to you to old age, the soul similarly passes into another body at death. The self realized soul is not bewildered by such a change. "

Verse 18 describes the soul as indestructible, immesurable and eternal. The same verse tells that the material body is subject to destruction. The material body is perishable. But not the soul. When the body perishes then the soul continue to exist in another body.

The is no death for the soul. The soul does not take birth. It does not become old and it does not get diseases. This only applies to the material body. So when there ia death the soul moves on into Nlther body.

This is called reincarnation or the transmigration of the soul from one body to another.
