Harinama in Tampa

RK Dasa: Harinama Today

We had a Grand Hari Nama Sankirtan in Ybor city - Tampa Florida.

The event was a grand parade and 3 miles on a busy street closed for driving through with barricades, and people were sitting on either side of the streets — drinking and drinking — . So we were a few of us and because there were lots and lots of people there was hardly walking room, but somehow we managed to walk through the crowd.

Ok —- The crowd received us well — they were joyful. Some knew about Krishna Nama, we passed out pamphlets, candies.
This Hare Krishna Maha Mantra is Transcendental sound vibration directly imported from Goloka. This Hari Nama Sankirtan is recommended for this age of Kali Yuga for the benefit of mankind. Srila Prabhupada many times he would emphasize that is Hari Nama is the Peace formula for this world.

By participating in this Nama Sankirtan everyone gets full benefit regardless of being able to pronounce the Hari Nama properly .This chanting creates an auspicious atmosphere, thus we can see practically everyone upon hearing this Nama becomes joyful and they eagerly want to participate in this Hari Nama ..

Hari Nama yajna ki Jai

[PADA: Yes, this is what Aindra was complaining about. The Hari Nama society has become a mundane corporate figurehead guru society. And thus the Hari Nama program has been reduced, diminished, if not halted altogether in many places.

Aindra said: Its really a shame that the aim and object of the religion has been changed by these elite "jet set gurus" and corrupt leaders. Anyway, a few people here and there are keeping something going on, and that is the best result we can expect at the present time. Some Hari Nama is better than none, or as Srila Prabhupada says -- a blind uncle is better than no uncle. Some Prabhupadanugas are also attending these programs here and there as well, so this is a good sign, i.e. there are more Prabhupadanugas cropping up here and there. Its a start. ys pd]
