PADA: From what I understand, the previous rule here was that females aged 10 -50 could not enter -- apparently because -- that is the age of menstruating females, who have been considered as unclean. Wow, Srila Prabhupada really jumped ahead of all these folks when he allowed females of any age to participate in his temples and programs.
In ISKCON, women were only temporarily not allowed to enter the altar area to do pooja during their "time of the month." Otherwise, women were allowed all the rest of the time. In any case, we feel that life is so short for everyone in Kali Yuga, why should anyone have to wait until they get a "male body" to be candidates for temple darshans or poojas or etc. No! We all need to get into Krishna consciousness in whatever body we have -- and as soon as possible. Its an emergency! ys pd
