[PADA: Some ISKCON folks, ok like Jayadvaita swami, have criticized the Bangalore "ritviks" for their "feeding the needy children" program as "mundane welfare work." However, it looks more and more like formal ISKCON is getting into their own version of the "feeding the needy" programme. OK, they want to imitate the ritviks.
And we would say, that is a good thing, since for starters its creating a good public image of the society. Its obvious that Bangalore is getting a lot of good support and PR for their Akshaya Patra programme, so why not copy it in some fashion? OK well that means ISKCON is catching up to the ritviks, and even copying them, that's all.
Anyway, this is creating a good image of Krishna and -- its a good start. This programme is for example, a way better programme than buying a big Mercedes and private house for the self-appointed gurus. I also think that more and more people will eventually figure out that Srila Prabhupada is their connection to Krishna, and not a pile of hokey fools who keep falling into debauchee behaviors. Progress will be made on that side as well Anyway, copy the ritviks, great idea!.ys pd]
