However, some time ago this same author predicted that several other Kali Yuga type events would evolve, which gradually became true. Now, he is saying that if humanity goes on the way it is, there will eventually be such severe food shortages, people will turn to cannibalism.
Actually, this is a Vedic prediction for the future of Kali Yuga -- due to food shortages, people will be forced to eat other people. Its sort of the logical conclusion if we consider that the variegated species of life are always diminishing (almost by the day), usable water is diminishing, the oceans are losing sea life, the air is so bad its killing off various species, the bees are disappearing, ad infinitum.
Srila Prabhupada said -- in the future, "you will be my dinner -- and I will be yours." So this is why its very important for all of us to become God conscious in this lifetime, so we do not have to return back to this planet in the future of Kali Yuga. Srila Prabhupada says, finish up your business in this lifetime, do not come back here, because the conditions will be very difficult and full of suffering. The amazing thing is -- that is seems many of the people living in our era pretty much know IN ADVANCE how this Kali Yuga process will end up.
