Our society (ISKCON) has failed to protect our most vulnerable ... our youth, whom we have filled with self doubt and fear, and for many a confused understanding of the world. Srila Prabhupada gave us the formula of how to live in this world. The Vrindavan village. A place for all to find a niche, a satisfying occupation, studying the land, cows and nature.l
Gosai was found dead at the Walgreens parking lot in Alachua, Florida about 2 weeks ago. He was approx. 35 yrs old. I have known he and his mother Bhranti dasi my whole devotional life. Many like Gosai, though he assumedly did not commit suicide, many have succumbed to suicide … and so many are depressed and have taken the path of drugs. Not only have the youth succumbed to depression and drugs, but also a shocking percentage of adults are on some sort of medication to cope with a world we were never supposed to be so intimately compromised in.
Instead of taking care of our own, we went for flashy festivals and retreats to impress the world … what a farce. Our own children are dying and sad.
Srila Prabhupada told us in "At any cost do it" (a small book if you would like one), that the whole world would become immersed in Krishna consciousness if we build these villages and live exemplary lives, away from the cities. The cities are for preaching, the village is for living. Self-sufficiency is the ideal backdrop for this. We, meaning all of us, and especially the GBC leadership, have failed. Failed to create a safe educational environment for devotees, young or old.
We now see on the horizon a potential disaster coming. The shelves at Walmart, Costco and Sams becoming increasingly bare… already!! And this is just the beginning according to the doctor experts. For every person that dies, there are 100 carrying the virus who have not yet been detected, and the contagious nature of this is extremely high. They say that in just the first wave of this, millions could die worldwide. There just are not enough medical supplies.
So instead of investing in large parcels of land to make villages, devotees, especially the "leadership" have invested in the stock market, petroleum, and a wide spectrum of business scams and ventures… all for nothing when faced with this present situation. You can't eat, drink or breathe ticker tape or oil… only watch it disappear…
Land never disappears. Cows give milk freely, and duplicate. Vegetables give seeds for bounty that are unimaginable. If anyone would like to help, and save themselves and family members, there is a lot of land around me to buy, on the most pristine river in the U.S… Duck River. We have 17 cows, and determination to see it through. Let me know if you have any questions … I will not take a penny of your money, either directly or by commission… Just want to help you.

So here we are… no self-sufficient villages that have the ability to close the gate and keep the devotees safe… no shelter for devotees to come together and chant the Holy Name… Now even the Bhaktivedanta Manor is closed. No Gaurapurnima festival… how pleased could Lord Caitanya be if this is possible!? Soon, very possibly, the Alachua temple could be closed. And many others also. The borders of Italy are shut… and there will be more.
Imagine the foresight of His Divine Grace… "get far from the cities…" And the lack thereof of our leadership. It might be too late. This order has been too long neglected. A most dangerous path is to not follow such emphatic instructions that Prabhupada has given. "At any cost, do it". But it has not been done… Instead of vibrant self-sufficient communities all over the world... awash with natural earth skills and sciences, that can simply close the gate… we are weak and pathetic… dependent on the artificial society around us, bowing to money and prestige. Now we may have to pay the price for not obeying.
What a difference we could have made. What strength we could have shown. What a glorious statement we could have made for Srila Prabhupada. Shown the world his compassion and vision… He gave us the blueprints of that house that everyone could live in… but we did hid them in the closet. What a shame… shame on us.

[PADA: It is good that someone at least admits: A number of ISKCON Children have been dying and sad, and they are confused. "Not exactly a suicide" means, what? He was taking intoxicants? Apparently this poor chap was arrested for public intoxication previously. This begs the question, what kind of society is breeding these kinds of problematic children? And if this child was in Alachua, where Jayadvaita preaches that gurus are falling into "illicit sex with men, women and children," then how can we be startled and amazed that a child would be dismayed, depressed or confused by this process?
And it seems a lot of "devotee children" are suffering all kinds of mental and physical health problems, lack of proper education or associated financial problems, and yet there is no outreach program to deal with their crises. Then again, even an adult devotee here died of alcohol poisoning, and other adult devotees have died from heroin and so forth.
Agreed, these are not directly suicides, but are not far from that process. And yes, a large number of ISKCON youth have been taking various intoxicants, sometimes to life threatening degree. Of course for that matter so have a lot of the former adult ISKCON members of rank and file.
Meanwhile the rural communities where these adults and youth should now be able to take shelter have not manifested to a large extent. And almost no one is going to move to the hollowed out shells that remain of the few rural communities standing. As one ex-youth told me, he would rather take shelter of working at a hamburger joint than to ever set foot in ISKCON, because there is no shelter for us there. At least the hamburger people might take care of us, these people never will. How did any of our ISKCON youth come to think like this? The hamburger people are a better shelter than ISKCON?
Anyway!
Not too sure what could be more confusing than to tell children (A) they have to surrender to ISKCON's "appointed pure devotees" as their gurus. However (B) their "pure devotee gurus" are often: falling down left, right and center into illicit sex, drugs, scandals, drinking Vodka, watching football and ordering out pizzas, having sex with their therapists, offering LSD to the shalagram, taking psychotropics to cure their incessant migraines, making "U.K.'s biggest designer drug businesses," blooping off to Sridhara Maharaja, Narayan Maharaja, Babajis etc., orchestrating murders and so on and so forth.
What could be more confusing to a child than to give them such contradictory orders? (A) Worship the pure devotee, who is very likely (B) not even close to being pure? ISKCON was flourishing at least to a great extent until 1977, that is until people like Gadi das and his GBC pals began to declare that they are the "guru successors to Krishna."
Then everything was confused because despite vociferous advertising that they are producing gurus and pure devotees, they aren't. Same things were happening when counterfeit money was being circulated in the 1940s and 1950s, people were confused, baffled and in the end, cheated, because they were told something that has value -- didn't. People were even being arrested for unknowingly transferring these bills.
So its the "unknowing" that is the worst part, and so how could little children "know" what is a real guru and what is not in the first place? Rather amazingly GBC / Jayadvaita / Gaudiya Matha / Hanuman Croatia type folks say its up to the aspiring person to discriminate if the guru is bona fide or not. OK how does a 5 year old child know what is what? Its foolish to expect that a 5 year old could decide what is what on guru tattva?
Counterfeit gurus caused a lot of confusion for the adults -- never mind the children. And then the resources to fund the care of the children has been being siphoned off for creating Saudi Prince Jet-set lifestyles for a few elite gurus and their lackeys. And while the elites have lived like wealthy princes, in fact a number of the children reported not getting enough food, soap, blankets, medical care, never mind worthwhile teachers. In sum, the ISKCON children as a class have been neglected, and they know that more than anyone else because they are experiencing that as victims directly.
Thus, the resources meant to facilitate the children were shuffled off to instead facilitate opulent living for a few elites. One ex-child told me -- us ISKCON children have been like children living in rural North Korea, the leaders live opulently like princes -- while we insignificant peons have to eat weeds and dirt. Thus, the question we almost always get: How could so many of the adults stand by and allow all this to take place?
If some Christian layman suddenly says he is the next messiah in line after Jesus, he causes all sorts of mayhem and madness, as we have seen with Jim Jones, David Koresh, Charles Manson and many other examples of conditioned souls claiming they are another Jesus. All of these ISKCON multiple guru out croppings created all sorts of confusion, never mind all the banning, beating, molesting, lawsuits, bad media and murders. The children were for the most part, sort of like by-standers used as cannon fodder in the big war to make these false gurus.
No wonder the children got a mixed message here?
Even the ordinary Joe six pack folks, and their police (the karmis?) often ask me, what the heck happened here? You guys had such a nice sweet religious movement, and it became a haven from criminals and their criminal behaviors? No small wonder then, so many children in that environment because confused and filled with doubts and fear, because even a lot of the rank and file adults developed doubts and fears over challenging these false messiahs and their dangerous personality cults. And children will not be the priority cared for item when the main priority is to make a Saudi prince jet-set life for a few elites in any case.
So! The point is that yes, a number of the ISKCON youth became alienated, and often totally disillusioned with the Krishna religion, or they rejected it wholesale and started to feel animosity towards the religion. Some of them here started to eat hamburgers, in part to protest the hypocrisy in their parent's religion.
Unfortunately, in my position I often get reports of all sorts of troubles going on with many of these children, of course there are also reports of women being mistreated as well. Here are a few examples out of hundreds, or maybe thousands, we have heard about since 1978:
*** 17 Year old devotee's daughter tries to stab her mother with a kitchen knife, has to be subdued and tranquilized by ambulance staff and carted off to a mental observation clinic. How will this young lady live her life as an adult when she is already not functioning at 17?
*** Homeless devotee youth gets into a fist fight with a cop at a fair and has to be arrested and put in jail. Has a drug problem. Ya think?
*** OK the list of these type events is quite long, and so are many accounts of pot smoking, partying, illicit sexual connections, broken marriages, a few cases of children being confiscated by the state, and who knows what else, no one could keep track.
*** More than a few ex-children (kulis) tell me either they were abused, or they know someone who was abused. That is not a good track record.
Then again we have folks like Bhakta das and his HKC Jaipur disciples like Prahlad who say the children's problems that PADA is trying to rectify is simply "writing about smelly poops." OK so they admit that they think their society's little children are simply problematic and insignificant smelly poops, and then they wonder why these children have a bad attitude towards the religion? They directly come out and say that caring for their society's little children is just like having a smelly poop problem in the house, then they wonder why their society's children are alienated from the religion?
And what is smelling like a rose for GBC / Bhakta das's program and their disciples? "Radhanath is a saint." Oh I almost forgot, Radhanath is a person who gives some of the former children victims PTSD symptoms, as does some of the other GBC friendly pals like Dhanurdar swami. Burying pedophiles in the dham is the non-poop program? Anyway, yes, the protection of the children of ISKCON has failed overall. The only good news is, there is increasing remorse and admittance. That is a start for the healing.
And the GBC folks recently said -- due to so many complaints about Dhanurdara -- they are not accepting his proposal to re-join ISKCON. OK, and we have been at the forefront of the complainers, that means our complaints are gradually having effect. What does that mean? We need more complainers, and evidently that is starting to happen more and more. Goody! ys pd

Is Gadi the next messiah of the Jagat?
http://krishna1008.blogspot.com/2018/01/the-next-messiah-is-gadi-das-of.html
********* dasi: One by one many of our children fell under the cracks and got into very bad and sad lives which makes me cry. I was one of them who tried to say something. I was ignored and called "an ignorant woman."
ReplyDeleteThis has to stop if we want to have good people coming to Krishna. Bad people are attracted if allowed to do bad things. Not even surprised Bhakta das people are saying your complaints are "poop." That is how they treat me. Its how they treat anyone who wants to help children.
Now I only go to the temple to see the deity sometime, but I cannot talk to the people there at the temple anymore. They don't care. My lady friends have all learned the bad lesson to keep their mouth shut too. The temple people do not want advice.
Gadi is another who pretends to care but is another false guru. Crocodile tears. We cannot trust any of them and I hope no one else does. They do not believe in Krishna and karma. Some day soon they will be suffering badly like our children did. Someone will try to help their suffering. And the helper will be called poop and their suffering will go on. What they wish on others will happen to them. Sooner the better for me.
