ISKCON India Fights USA's GBC Management

CD: I believe God wants me to see him (Lokanath Swami) as a sadhu (Bhagavad Gita 9.30). But I also believe in the testimony from that underage girl that he touched inappropriately. And the Indian Continental Committee of ISKCON (ICC) is now afraid of the "bad reputation" which will result from sanctioning this totally inappropriate physical act from an elderly spiritual leader towards an underage girl?

You have to be kidding me!

And they demand a freaking apology towards him from the North America GBC committee? Is this a joke or a bad dream?

At least the Catholic Church, in their bad cases, they just shut up and eat humble pie. And admit to wrong doing. But here, Indian ISKCON leaders are demanding that the NA GBC *apologizes* to a sannyasi who acted totally inappropriately towards an underage girl? What the heck?!

"Resolution adopted unanimously by the ICC on Lokanath Swami:

Whereas, the ICC has taken cognizance of the recent GBC action against Lokanath Swami,

Whereas, the ICC feels that the decision taken by the GBC, suspending Lokanath Maharaj from initiating, etc., was taken in extreme haste without due consideration causing extreme mental anguish to Lokanath Maharaj and his many disciples and amongst ISKCON’s vast congregation around the world,

Whereas, the decision of the GBC regarding Lokanath Swami will have far reaching effects both in ISKCON India, and amongst ISKCON devotees worldwide, and is liable to have disastrously adverse effects on the image of ISKCON worldwide,

Therefore it is resolved that the ICC (ISKCON India leadership) hereby expresses their full support to Lokanath Swami and demand that the GBC reverse their unfair decisions.

Also the ICC calls on the Bureau to take up the case with the GBC, with a view to reverse this injustice and tender an apology to Lokanath Swami."

[PADA: Well there you have it. We defend -- the perps -- and not the victims. As a number of people are commenting, doing these type compromised things does not "enhance and protect the image of ISKCON." Just the opposite, it makes ISKCON look like a corrupt cult, that enables if not turns a blind eye to child abuse and other crimes.

The good news is, more people are getting to figure all this out on their own. Some of them are even vociferously asking PADA, "hey, haven't you noticed how bad this is"? Hee hee, well yep, we are trying to keep up, but its like picking up garbage, plastic bottles and tin cans flowing down the river. You are there all day long picking away, but only making a dent in to trash heap.

Sorry, Lokanath Swami is not "a pure devotee guru." He was at best -- one time -- an aspiring sadhaka. OK at one time, then he got bit by the guru disease, thinking that he can be worshiped, given all sorts of glory and easy "guru dakshine" money etc. And he fell into the guru trap. And then he supported the debauchee messiah's project -- as one of its defenders and enablers.

Meanwhile, India is supposed to be the heartland / motherland of the Vedas, and yet we keep finding people there supporting the GBC's illicit sex with men, women and children guru parampara, allegedly from Krishna. That means these India folks are tossing Krishna and His guru parampara under the bus to make a sort of business arrangement out of ISKCON.

Even Dayaram said he knew the GBC was making homosexuals and other deviating folks into gurus, yet he went to bat to defend the regime. Meanwhile, a devotee lady just now writes PADA to ask, "does Bhagavad Gita 9:30 apply to regular sadhakas, or people who are cheating the mass of public by sitting in their own guru's Vyasa seat?

"Where do we find in shastra that people who are cheating others by posing as self-realized gurus, are to be forgiven for making a 'one or few times' mistake, when these false gurus get up every single day, day in and out, year after year -- to cheat people. This is not a one or two time 'mistake,' it is something they have dedicated their entire existence to -- and for decades and decades."

Good question.

We all know the answer by now, false gurus are destined to go to the most obnoxious regions of the universe. They might be forgiven by us, but they are not going to be forgiven by the Lord. And now -- we do not want to upset the badly cheated disciples, so we should continue -- to cheat them? We sold you a rotten used car that might start on fire at any moment, but we don't want to disturb the cheated customer with this bad news? So this is starting to turn more and more into a cult meltdown. They cannot agree on basic points of how to move forward.

So this is good news, and bad news. It means some folks in ISKCON are waking up and trying to make some sort of more polished and refined reform effort, while others are dedicated to defending the corruption. It is on a collision course. Meanwhile the people we have been telling to worship Prabhupada, have none of these problems. Their guru parampara has not been compromised. ys pd]

"Satyam, truthfulness, means that facts should be presented as they are, for the benefit of others. Facts should not be misrepresented. According to social conventions, it is said that one can speak the truth only when it is palatable to others. But that is not truthfulness. The truth should be spoken in a straightforward way, so that others will understand actually what the facts are. If a man is a thief and if people are warned that he is a thief, that is truth. Although sometimes the truth is unpalatable, one should not refrain from speaking it. Truthfulness demands that the facts be presented as they are for the benefit of others. That is the definition of truth." BG. 10.4-5
