Dear devotees, please say a prayer for this devotee and his family:
"In a sad and shocking turn of events, a Mayapur community devotee, Rashik Shekhar Das, was shot dead in his office in Gournagar, just adjacent to the ISKCON property in Mayapur, West Bengal.
The victim was shot point blank four times during the attack, which took place on the night of February 1st, between 6:45 and 7:00pm.
“This was not a random incident but a planned attack,” said Balakrishna Seva Das, speaking on behalf of the Mayapur Secretariat Office.
Police are currently investigating the case, and are holding a suspect. They have also recovered CCTV footage showing two people with covered faces in the office at the time of the shooting.
ISKCON Mayapur has made contact with State Police authorities so that the case will be given due diligence, and are hoping that it will be solved and a motive found.
The victim, Rashik Shekhar Das, was a Mayapur community member involved in several businesses, including ghee production and land sales.

Mayapur managers requested the community that they should "inform the ISKCON Security Office if any of the community members feel any threat to their personal security, or see any suspicious activities in the community,” Balakrishna Seva Das said".

Comment by a devotee who reported the case:
ReplyDeleteWho ordered a hit I can only speculate? Big boss for land in Mayapur are only two people -- Nareswara and Dayarama. Since time immemorial,
but that you order a hit on someone, must be some crazy situation
these photos of the body I got from private, they are not online. I assume they will not post much online.
That devotee who was shot, was working for Alay Govind Das, head of ISKCON Mayapur land department. Alay Govind has had a crew of devotees working for him and they were calling themselves "Cobra Gang." When TOVP was starting to grow more and more, mafia from Krishnanagar started to purchase land around TOVP and nearby. So who shot him it could be local land mafia or internal ISKCON dispute.
Since local bengali mafia devotees beat up a few GBC and threatened them, GBC cant do sh*t to them cuz they are scared. Once Jayapataka will be gone, Bhakti purosottama swami and the gangs will take over TOVP. They did same with SP Samadhi, they waited to be finished.
Uttama sloka established a really good management system with lots of cash flow, they threatened him and his family so he run away to Australia.
Same will happen to TOVP, local Bengalis are patiently waiting for JPS to die, then they will take over. White man invests and builds, Bengali mafia takes over. If you are white devotee living in Mayapur and not sticking ur nose into management they are all friends with you, once u start to sniff around, the might shoot you too.
Not many people know they call themselves Cobra Gang, not even GBC, but the locals know.
[PADA: Yes, the land MAFIA. Of course GBC cannot counter them because they are too corrupt themselves, and MAFIA knows it. Anyway lets see how this "investigation" goes forward. Transparency is definitely an issue. ys pd]
PADA: Yes prabhu Dayarama has been the head of the GBC's Bangalore lawsuit which has drained about $20,000,000 from ISKCON to spend on lawyers. He cheated the GBC because originally he told the GBC this was only going to take a year and cost less than $1,000,000.
ReplyDeleteThen he just kept charging them more and more and more and more and more. Yes, he probably got a big cut from all the fees and a salary and all that. They kept paying him, despite he was costing them millions -- for nothing. Yes he is another one of their crooks. I am not sure what his current status is, but anyone else who wastes $20M of a church or company's money would be sued to recover the funds in any ordinary situation. They keep protecting these guys, at least evidently. Yes, there is no evident accountability. That is probably why others took matters into their own hands here ... yes, that is a possible scenario here. ys pd
