  1. They say that ISKCON and GM were turned into private organizations and both having the same private owner. For the new owners of ISKCON/GM it is no big difference - either you serve in ISKCON or GM - you are welcome. Splitting into fractions is presently necessary because Western governments freak out when all Hare Krishnas form one unit. De facto we have seen it, ISKCON leaders go bonkers when having to much power. Therefore at present, splitting the whole thing into fractions is a necessity.
