KAMADEVA DAS:
CHALLENGE TO ANY WHO CAN ANSWER!IF there is a personal conscious God behind this particular world; who is ALSO "all loving" AND if this God specifically favors humans and the human form as sacred and special to Him....
Then WHY does He not EVER regrow the limbs of ANY amputee no matter how hard they pray?
More than that WHY does he not just put it into our genetics so they regrow naturally IF the human form is so special to Him and if He actually answers prayers?
So far NO ONE else has been able to or even attempted to answer this question with a theistic answer.
We ALREADY know the evolutionary answer.
I am sending out the challenge to ANYONE to answer this question in a theistic way that is more rational that what I have already answered. Or at least as rational and sensible.
"He works in mysterious ways" or something along those lines is NOT an answer it is just another way or saying "We do not know so why ask?" That is NOT an answer or even an attempt at an actual answer so that will not count. Find a solid answer or you will have to agree that the Formfulist view is the most rationally coherent one of ALL Personalist Theistic views that exist.
HARE HARE
Amputees, salamanders and starfish can grow back their limbs, humans cannot.
And that means, the being behind this universe produces randomness and indifference.
The being behind this universe is malevolent.
The being behind this universe does not favor the human beings.
The being behind this universe has made a real sick situation. (etc.)
[PADA: OK someone sent me this wondering if Kamadeva is just pulling our chain, baiting us into a false debate, is joking, or has smoked some PCP. Or maybe he is serious! They wanted me to comment on this "challenge."
First of all everyone in this world is suffering from billions or trillions of years of accumulated karma. Some are born with: two good legs; one good leg; no legs; no legs and no arms; no legs, no arms and blind, and so on and so forth. That does not happen due to randomness or indifference from God, it happens according to the specific karmic process that particular being is undergoing at a given time.
A dog born in the USA is sometimes treated like a royal King, while a dog born in China is perhaps boiled alive and eaten. That does not happen by random chance, there are karmic elements in the lives of all creatures. Of course if a dog is born in China, that does not give us the authority to boil it alive and eat it, because then we are generating our own new "bad karma."
In sum, we have no authority to dish out "bad karma to others" even if they deserve that karma, because then we are implicated in generating another layer of karma upon ourselves, and causing pain to them -- which binds us to their karma. That being said, the wheel of karma is turning for all conditioned beings and the only method of relieving ourselves of accumulating karma is to surrender to the Supreme Being / Krishna.
As for some beings ability to grow new limbs, but not humans, ok fine. Some beings will get their legs, tails or other parts eaten off by an attacker, and it will grow back. That does not happen very much with humans, so therefore, God does not favor humans? Well hee hee, first of all you'll need to be in a body that has chunks of your body being eaten off by other beings -- for this to work.
Some beings are eaten up while alive -- partially, then they regrow the missing parts, great -- but that means they are being chomped down upon by some other entity. Not sure why this is such a great blessing? It means, that someone will live longer -- and no doubt get chomped up again and again! OK humans cannot do that, but humans can be taken to the hospital and given a fiberglass leg and a wheel chair, the starfish, OK nope.
I think Kamadeva is missing the whole point of the material world. It is not about re-growing your missing leg here. Even if you could re-grow your missing limb here, you'll still die later on from some other cause. The real reason human life is the most important is -- we can inquire about our spiritual nature. The starfish, the salamander, ummm, nope.
We are not supposed to be worried about re-growing missing parts of our material body here. Eventually, the whole material body goes missing, with (or without) all the parts left remaining. That is not something that is a big concern for genuine spiritualists. They know the whole body is a temporary and illusory state, and there is no big need to repair the material body over and over, only to get it chomped up again and again.
Yes, some beings regrow their missing parts after they are attacked and partially eaten up, but we should in no way, shape or form think this is a great thing to happen to us. In any case re-growing ANY material thing is -- material. It is a process that is part and parcel of the material world. This is not our actual home. We cannot fix the process of the material energy, that is impossible.
And the laws of karma are so complex and bewildering, even Lord Yamaraja cannot untangle them. He requires the assistance of the Supersoul to inform him of this particular person's karmic state. We for sure are not going to untangle any of it, and to think we can, is another illusion.
To say or imply that the material world is a random process is called illusion. It is going on under very specific (albeit very complex) laws made by the Supreme Being. He is not indifferent to this process, He is engaged in every single detail down to the last atom. We cannot challenge how and why God does things, because that is the original sin / cause of our falling here in the first place. We thought we had a better method of managing things than God, and that is why we are here.
Anyway thanks Kamadeva! You made a video with HKC Jaipur's thug Prahlad das (Paul Coats?) and various victims noticed how he was chuckling and joking, which the victims told me means -- Prahlad thinks child molesting and suicides are a Benny Hill comedy show. Worse, he said the supporters of this process are innocent. He has no idea how karma works, and your video exposed that.
Finally, I am not sure if you are really obsessing with amputations, or if you are just joking with us, but rest assured, not a blade of grass is moving here without the sanction of the Lord. He is all present in every thing and nothing is happening by randomness, it is all moving by intelligent design. We are trapped in the material energy and it is so complex it may appear as a random system, but it is all being organized with precise intelligence, we just cannot see it because we do not have that precise intelligence.
Hope I did not mis-represent what you are saying, but even your formulist term has most people baffled as to what it means. Someone wanted me to sort out your statements, and I have to be honest, they are a little baffling. Anyway, my advice is -- do not worry about fixing the material world, you won't be able to.

LWD: Kamadeva complains that the Vaishnavas are leaving his forum ... and even blocking him ... instead of answering his question. What is his question actually?
ReplyDeleteHe has been hard at work studying ... how animals regain lost limbs ... and after amputations ... humans do not regain lost limbs ... all while smoking something? I still cannot even figure out what the actual question is?
I think this is another example of devotees reading all kinds of mixed up information on the internet ... and they get overwhelmed by too much mundane news material ... and their brain just mixes it all up into a giant trash heap of unusable news.
At the same time ... it does seem very silly that he would seem to say God is not doing a good job ... because he is not healing amputees with new legs ... which is the type of arguments the atheists and Satan club could give. He seems to be trying to paint God as ... incompetent ... with himself being the only competent in existence.
It seems to me to be just a big ego thing here. God is not competent, but I am. That is why Kamadeva is here in this world suffering in the first place. And by doing this added critical attack on God ... he gets to stay here for added time.
And that is why we are told to associate with the Vaishnavas ... because on our own ... we may drift off to never never land of endless speculation. I feel sorry for the poor guy. He is reading all sorts of garbage and then he speaks garbage. And a lot of devotees are doing that ... they are reading the mundane news and they get sucked into all sorts of endless schemes and scams ... which never end in this world. It is unfortunate ... and that is why Krishna says that one who does not focus on Me ... loses his intelligence ... becomes many branched ... buddhi nasa ... and then he is lost in madness. We see that with many "devotees."
Haribolo!!! Just to point out that in the Bhagavatam, there is a passage where priests fix up wounded ... or even dead warriors, but I'm not sure if they actually recreate chopped off limbs ... per say ... with mantras ... Problem is , I can't locate that passage (I'd have to spend quite some time to do so), do you perhaps know where it was, or do you know a Brahmin that would perhaps know right off the bat?!? D DASA
ReplyDelete[PADA: Correct, in Vedic times dead warriors could be brought back to life, and many other medical miracles could be performed by the brahmanas chanting various mantras. Of course people could also be killed by different deadly weapons -- also made from mantras, it was a more advanced era. We are no longer living in that era.
I think that Kamadeva is another fried cakes devotee who has seen too much suffering in the world, and in ISKCON, and so he is blaming God for all that suffering. That leads to us re-creating and re-forming our original spiritual problem, we were holding a grudge against God. This lead us to fall to here -- and away from God -- from square one.
Re-doing that grudge match will simply, keep us here longer. We will never win a grudge match against God.
He found this amputation argument against God because he was trying to find some fault or other with God, and this just appeared as the easy way to attack God in his opinion. He was looking for a fault in God, and this just popped up in his fertile brain.
Problem is, he does not understand that the purpose of life is not to stay in the material world and try to figure out how to keep the mundane body going for a bit longer, or with new limbs etc. We are supposed to transcend the bodily platform, with or without limbs.
Having -- or not having limbs -- in this life -- will not save a person from taking another birth here, where he will once again be in danger of losing more life and limbs. Kamadeva is not solving the original problem, we cannot keep getting chopped up, eaten up, blown up etc. -- and keep getting new limbs here over and over, and be happy.
He has gone down to the mundane platform, and worse than that, he thinks he has now become God's supervisor, armchair boss, commander and advisor. He has fallen off the wagon and attacking God simply is like stepping into another hundred thousand more bodies, where he will be getting more and more beat up, chewed up, chopped up, eaten up, and missing limbs over and over and over and over. He is not solving his missing limbs problem, he is creating more of that problem exponentially.
Anyway yes, in Vedic times there were cures for ailments, and even dead soldiers, that would be considered as medical miracles right now. Devotees do not dwell on these issues too much because, even with miracle cures, one still has to die and take another birth, for example as a frog, or an insect that will be eaten by the frog. We are trying to get free of all that process ...
