Mediation between ISKCON Bangalore & ISKCON Mumbai
Posted March 31, 2013
Please find attached a set of documents to update the devotee community re. on the progress of the ongoing mediation. These documents consist of correspondence between between Madhu Pandit Prabhu , the GBC Bureau and the ISKCON GBC :
Justice Raveendran (the retired Supreme court justice who was appointed by the Supreme Court to oversee the present management at HK Hill, by the ISKCON Society of Karnataka a year ago) took an initiative to bring about an out of court settlement between two parties thru several mediation sittings.
The Bangalore group offered to bring the property in dispute in the court, which is the Hare Krishna Hill temple under the ownership of ISKCON registered in Mumbai if Bureau assured before the Supreme Court that the rtvik system of initiation practiced now will be the only system to continue and the preaching that Srila Prabhupada is guru of everyone in this temple will also continue. Then we went further to offer all the group properties, worth about 500 million dollars, about 20 temples in India to ISKCON registered in Mumbai with same condition on initiation.
To avoid court battles, they even offered that Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chanchalapathi Dasa and Jai Chaitanya Dasa will be out of management of the Hare Krishna Hill temple, which is disputed before the court. The Bureau had its meeting with GBC on March 9, 2013 and rejected the condition on initiation and rejected the settlement offer. The Bureau's foul cries that rtvik is just an excuse for Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa's plan to grab properties now stands exposed as just mud slinging tactic. If they really believed this to be the case, why don't they take the offer that would have included Madhu Pandit's offer?
The attached documents should be read in the following time sequence:

- GBC cover letter March 9th, 2013

- Reply to GBC and Bureau March 14th, 2013
- Final letter to Justice Raveendran March 22nd, 2013
You guys say GBC spent 15 million, how much did you spend? Over all both the parties (Iskcon bangalore and mumbai) are spending tons of money, since its all public money and not theirs. You guys are spoiling Prabhupad's vision.
ReplyDeleteISKCON is destroying the lives of young people ..its very sad to say this and i am the victim .
DeleteNot sure what your point is? We should give the temple away to people who worship illicit sex with men, women and children as acharyas and not fight to keep the temple?
ReplyDeleteMy point is simple. This is not going to end. It continues for ever. All public money is going to top lawers. With all our donation, both the parties can hire the top lawers. We are indirectly feeding karmis (lawers and police). I don't get it. As you mentioned in the blog, I have seen some of the temple in US, its way too small and there is no one to maintain it. Instead of feeding Karmis, both the parties should stop this fighting (They are fighting on the roads in bangalore like a karmi) - Its a shame, both the parties preach inside and talk about morals, ethics, dharma etc and on road they fight! I really have lost hope in both these parties. - I know there is logical (Each party's version and reason to fight) answer to all my question, but I don't buy it.
ReplyDeletei very much support your opinion. What ever you said all that i suffered in ISKCON and Ritviks temples.
DeleteOK, well there are not many good options here?
ReplyDeleteAs soon as the GBC takes over temples like they have here in America, many of these temples become neglected, and in some cases get infested with bed bugs, cock roaches, and even rats are running around in one temple according to a report.
There are also all kinds of reported maintenance problems like bad electrical, plumbing and repair problems in addition to the fact there are not enough people to cook, sew, do poojari work, and so on because the first thing they do is to kick almost everyone out and make the temple a ghost town.
In other words, if we surrender the temple to the GBC, then the deity might end up in the ghetto, as is happening to some of these deities.
Its our duty to keep Krishna our of their ghetto, and even if that costs us a trillion dollars, we have to pay whatever it costs, we cannot allow Krishna to fall into their ghetto conditions, and that means we have to spend whatever it takes to avoid allowing Krishna to have rats running on His altars passing stools on His feet and so on. That is our job as devotees, to defend and protect the Lord. And if we fail at that job, then what kind of devotees are we? At least we have to try to save Krishna from being pushed into the ghetto.
We simply cannot allow that as His devotees, and if we do allow that, we are going to acquire severe aparadha for that. In sum, even if we have to spend ten trillion dollars, so what, we have to spend whatever we have to spend to keep Krishna from falling into theie ghetto, that is our duty as His servants.
So you have failed to explain why we should simply allow Krishna to fall into a ghetto? Thats not what His devotees are supposed to do? The devotees of God are supposed to save Krishna from being hi-jacked into the ghetto? So, I still do not understand your point, as Krishna's devotees, we are supposed to put Krishna into the ghetto? Why would we allow that? If we study the Vedas we find that the devotees want to serve Krishna by helping Him fight the demons. A just watched a video where Satyabhama wanted to help Krishna fight a demon, that is the nature of His devotees, they want to help Krishna and not allow Him to be attacked and put into hellish situations. As for lawyers and the police, without them, the GBC guru program would have killed me a long time ago, what is the harm of having them save us from certain death? ys pd
hmmm. Okay, to an extent I agree. But I am not convinced on the behavior of Bangalore temple devotees as well. While all these fights were going on, even the Mumbai Iskcon has exposed lot of truth. - Why do you need a Multi specialty Gym inside the Bangalore Temple?!? The explanation I read was, to help some of the older devotees! Excuse me! Why don't you do 100 Dandavath every day. That will help you progress spiritually as well as for your material body. - If all that is needed to keep the material body in a good condition to serve Krishna, you don't need such expensive toy like bench press, chest, thighs, biceps muscle building equipment...
ReplyDeleteThere are some more thing that were exposed, which I don't even want to write it here. That may or may not be true, but what I know is, some of them are really true, especially these gyms, top branded accessories and some(3 or 4 and not all) of the temple devotees behavior. So now tell me? Do you want us to choose best among the worst? - This is not acceptable.
You gave an example of Satyabhama helping Krishna fight a demon. But I don't agree that Bangalore Temple is comparable to Satyabhama here. I agree they are not as worst as Putana/Kamsa, but no where close to any pure devotees as well. ( Now please don't tell me that no one is as pure as satyabhama.. so we have to choose one, who is closest)
Anyways Prabhuji/Mataji, Thanks for the explanation, you and me can continue to debate, but both Bangalore and Mumbai temple team has to read this along with "their" GBCs and their fight is taking many many more devotees far away from ISKCON (Prabhupad's orginal iskcon and not bangalore or Mumbai iskcon).
By the way, where are you from? Are you from US or India. Just curious to know if you really know both the temple and not just read the blogs from each other and decided to go with one of the party or you belong to one of the temple.
Hari Bol.
Current ISKCON and Ritviks both are just frusturating . Real ISKCON existed only when Prabhupada time.
