Jesus Wants Televangelists To Have Private Jets? (Inside Edition Video)

[PADA: One of them said, he cannot ride in a (commercial plane) long tube with a bunch of demons. Hee hee! Anyway, this is what happens in Kali Yuga, the false preachers EXPLOIT religion, and apparently -- they will live nicely and the peons, ok not so much. Of course we remember when Jayatirtha wanted to buy Hugh Hefner's used Boeing Jet. Yes, a number of ISKCON GBC gurus have also "lived like Kings," at least in comparison to a lot of Krishna rank and file. ys pd]

Prayer Request for Pusta Krishna das (Paul Dossick)

Prayers request

His Grace Pusta Krishna Das, disciple of Srila Prabhupada and pioneer in spreading krishna's consciousness in South Africa, has liver cancer in the fourth stage. Doctors say he might have a week to live. Pusta Krishna Prabhu was the secretary of Srila Prabhupada for a while and was the first GBC of South Africa. He was prominently involved when Srila Prabhupada visited South Africa in October 1975. His intelligent organization and his preaching efforts in the half of the 1970s in South Africa established the basis for what we have today. We have an immense debt of gratitude to him. We ask the vaishnava community to make a prayer for his well-being.

[PADA: Yes, Pusta Krishna used to give very energetic kirtana back in the day. He is another person who had to decamp from the GBC's program, like a lot of the rest of us have done. He has always treated others in a friendly and respectful manner and we wish him the best on his future road. We would like other details and / or confirmation of this report if anyone wants to volunteer. And we will post updates when and if we get them. ys pd]

Hare Krishna Women Gurus? (theguardian news)

Don't Exploit Krishna With False Tilaka and Mala (SP quote)

FALSE TILAKA, FALSE MALA -- PSEUDO VAISNAVA.

Guest (2): Why Vaiṣṇavas are...? They are bearing (?) one of the risks(?). Yamadūtas are not going. Is there already some rules(?) of they or something like that?

Srila Prabhupāda: Yes. It is not to be kept falsely. You see? Yamadūtas are... They are very intelligent. If you keep it falsely, they can catch you. They are not foolish persons that you can cheat him. No, it is not possible. You must be actually Vaiṣṇava; then you are excused.

Otherwise not. You cannot cheat. So they are being trained up to become actually Vaiṣṇavas, not a pseudo Vaiṣṇava, simply for earning livelihood. No. That is not our proposition. And those who are earning livelihood by presenting himself as false Vaiṣṇava, their condition is more condemned.

[PADA: That is also why the Isopanisad says false gurus are going to a lower destination than the ordinary man.]

My Guru Mahārāja used to say that "Instead of earning your livelihood by presenting yourself as a Vaiṣṇava, better you become a sweeper in the street and earn your livelihood. Don't cheat." That was the order of my Guru Mahārāja. "It is better to become a sweeper in the street than to become a false Vaiṣṇava." That is real philosophy.

Devotee (3): Prabhupāda, you said that the greatest offense is to chant thinking that "My sins will be washed away" and commit sins, or wants to.(?) So what is the result that that person gets if he dies in that condition?

Prabhupāda: He dies a sinful. Because he does not want to go back to Godhead, he wants to make some profit, so he dies sinful, and he has to be punished for that reason, in spite of his false tilaka and false mālā. He'll be punished.

Proper Gurus, Not More Gurus BY: CAITANYA DAS

PADA: The GBC says they cannot guarantee the level of realization of the gurus they are voting in. Well no kidding, their gurus keep flopping left, right and center. Rocana says we shall continue the process of adding more (conditioned soul) gurus, but we need to simply increase the guru administration department -- so we can vote in, vote out, censure, suspend, monitor, excommunicate and regulate them better. Gurus need administration by a committee?

Maybe they should only make gurus out of people who are qualified? Of course none of these people address the fact that conditioned souls cannot absorb sins like Jesus and be diksha gurus. That is impossible. ys pd

GBC RESOLUTIONS, No 409, 2004

"When the GBC allows a devotee to take up the service of initiating, it does not thereby endorse him as an uttama-adhikari or "pure devotee" or certify his having achieved any specific state of realization. Rather, the GBC indicates that it has no objection to his initiating disciples within ISKCON".

Proper Gurus, Not More Gurus

BY: CAITANYA DAS — MANCHESTER, ENGLAND —

There is a call from some quarters in ISKCON, we need more Gurus. What type of Gurus? Family gurus, as was prominent in the debunked false varnashram system fraudulently posing as real varnashram and for so long prominent in India?

Instead of speculations and endless committees and passing of papers, why not hear what our Acaryas have said on the matter. Let's begin with text one of Nectar of Instruction:

A sober person who can tolerate the urge to speak, the mind's demands, the actions of anger, and the urges of the tongue, belly and genitals is qualified to make disciples all over the world,

One who only speaks on the Subject matters related to Krishna Consciousness, who is fully absorbed within his mind in the external services of the followers of Rupa Goswami, the transcendental passionate devotees of the Lord, will be a fit Candidate.

One who is free from envy of Vaishnavas, who is truly cooperative and sees the vision of His Guru as the paramount importance in his and other's lives, and is free from malice and criticism toward the bone fide devotees of the Lord, will be a candidate

One who is moderate and simple in his living standards, and who is completely free from sex life will be a candidate. We cannot have candidates for Guruship who in any way contemplate the objects of the senses, or who within their minds carry sex desire.

Such a person will have to be well established in Krishna Consciousness and naturally relishing the Holy Name, Form, Qualities and Pastimes of the Lord, and understand the significance of text 8 of the Nectar of Instruction.

The essence of all advise is one should utilise one's full time, twenty four hours a day in chanting and remembering the transcendental form qualities and eternal pastimes, thereby gradually engaging one's tongue and mind. In this way one should reside in Vraja and serve under the guidance of devotees.

One should follow in the footsteps of the Lord's beloved devotees, who are deeply attached to His devotional service. As previously stated, Srila Visvanatha Cakravati Thakur has in his auspicious invocation to his Sri Krishna Bhavanamrita mahakavya:

I worship Srila Sanatana and Srila Rupa Goswami who brought the King and Queen of Vrndavana Sri Sri Radha Krishna out of their hearts into this world, and who revealed Their pastimes from the Vedic literature, and who are followed by the Transcendentally passionate devotees with an external body.

Second meaning he gives:

With a mentally conceived spiritual body, I worship the girlfriends of Srimati Radharani and Sri Krishna, headed by Lalita, who always keep the eternal forms of the Lord and Lady of the Vraja forests within their hearts, and whose desire tree of pastimes are being praised by the Divine Couple Themselves when they unit, and without whose assistance the pastimes of the Divine Union cannot reach perfection.

In the purport of Chapter eight of the Nectar of Instruction, the clear understanding is given by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Goswami Maharaja, who Srila Prabhupada quotes, of exactly how one can progress in Krishna Consciousness, and I would suggest anyone considering taking disciples, or those considering advocating increasing the Gurus, should study and bear this purport in mind.

We do not require family gurus in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, rather we require self realised souls.

We shall consider other verses and recommendations in our next post, including tad viddhi pranipatena, — tasman gurum prapadyeta —-tad vijnananartham sa gurum evabhigacchet, as well as saksad-dharitvena samasta sastrair, and the implications of the verse brahmananda brahmite kona bhagyavan jiva.

The understanding of Siksa and Diksa gurus and the prominent line of highly qualified siksa within our sampradaya, despite the differences of space time, needs careful consideration, contemplation and understanding.

Further to emphasise the point, in his essay entitled 'The Acaryas Unequalled and Unsurpassed Greatness', Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Goswami makes the point of a need to give up family based dharma to accept the necessity of haribhajan. In so doing one gives up the uselessness of materialistic family gurus and serve exclusively the paramahamsas.

ISKCON should keep its standard high of accepted Diksa gurus in light of what Srila Bhaktisiddhanta says, by the education of prospective disciples, less we are seen to be endangering the real Mission of Mahaprabhu, daivi-varnashram, and instead bringing about a varnashram mission with family gurus who are far from being the Paramahamsas that Srila Bhaktisiddhanta and Srila Prabhupada envisaged.

[PADA: Its melting some of the roads. The weather will get more extreme as Kali Yuga progresses. Its an unfortunate aspect of this age. Various devotees are sometimes trying to tell PADA that weather change is a hoax. Nope, its not. Its predicted to evolve in more extreme ways, and it is.

Dear Puranjana Prabhu,

Thank you for the link to that video, but it appears that you gave it an inaccurate headline as "Jadapinkettsmith Sings Govinda (Video)". Jada Pinkett Smith did post that beautiful singing of Govinda, but it appears to be of her daughter Willow, who has a nose ring, which you can see and her youth. If you look at one of Willow's music videos on YouTube you will hear her sweet voice, such as at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEETPUv1w8Q which is already about 1 1/2 years old.

[PADA: Thanks for the info. ys pd]

Flat Earth vs Round Earth (Update)

 SUNANDA DAS: Additional Arguments

The problem of how the Sun creates the days and nights, seasons, etc. is equally applicable to both Maharaja's globe model or the flat island model.

[PADA: Not really. Sunanda says below that the Sun is millions of miles away from earth, which would make the earth basically sunshine everywhere at all times if it was a flat plane. Other "flat earth" folks have told me -- no -- the Sun is a not a big planet millions of miles away. Its a very SMALL planet, very close to the earth, so its like a flashlight moving around a round plate, producing day and night.

Sunanda has not indicated how his Sun, being millions of miles away, would produce day and night on a flat plane.]

According to the Bhagavatam and all the Puranas, the Sun moves along a path of revolution around Bhu-mandala that is many millions of miles away from where we are, traversing over the Manasottara mountain range.

[PADA: Correct, a light source that far away would make one uniform lighted up situation on an entirely flat area. The only way the light could be broken into day and night is if it was a globe. And then the globe would be rotating, thus blocking the Sun by its own body. just like we block the Sun and make a shadow with our own bodies.]

Yet, we are able to see the Sun at any given time in our reality as directly overhead.

[PADA: Nope, the Sun moves across the sky, its not always overhead.]

There is no local Sun according to the Bhagavatam to produce day and night, etc. on any so-called globe Earth, and no logical explanation according to shastra for such a conundrum and contradiction of the Sun's apparent movements to our vision which contradict the Puranic explanation.

[PADA: So the teeny Sun close to the flat plane earth idea is hereby dismissed as not valid.]

Neither Maharaja's globe model or the Puranic flat Earth model adequately answer this dilemma from a scientific or logical perspective, and it can only be explained as the mystical power of Surya Narayana.

[PADA: That does not make a working model of how the Sun, millions of miles away, makes day and night on a flat surface?]

On these grounds the so-called Vedic Earth globe concept alone does not satisfactorily prove the Earth isn't a flat plane just because a globe gets sunlight which produces day and night, etc. and a flat plane does not.

[PADA: There has to be a working model of how the Sun would produce day and night on a flat plane, especially if its going to be millions of miles away. That is the real dilemma here. Various devotees and / or the TVOP folks in Mayapura cannot agree on one standard idea, and therefore no working model has been produced to date.

Anyone who wants to prove the theory of the flat earth plane, or any other theory, has to make a working model to show how this movement is going on, and its becoming more and more evident, such a model -- which could be made with lamps, golf balls and plates or whatever, or better yet a digital movie-like rendition, is not being done? We have been asking to see the working model for maybe decades? ys pd]

Sri Vallabhacarya's Last Words

http://www.shrinathji.com/vallabh.html

These are the last words of Sri Vallabha Acharya, which were written in sanskrit in the sand of the ganga river bank in kashi, shortly before he passed away:

“Listen to my last words. I foresee a time when all of you will forget God and become engrossed in worldly matters. It is likely that you will become slaves of your passions which will turn you away from the path of devotion.

Instead of rendering service to God, which is your primary duty, you will waste your time and energy in idle pursuits. But, if you follow my advice, Lord krishna will not forget you. You should believe that Shri Krishna is our God and never weaken your faith in Him and then He will surely protect you.

You should regard Him as the be-all and end-all of your life. Your ultimate good lies in serving Him, which should be done with all your heart, mind and soul. Trust in His protection. Remember Him always in all thoughts, words and deeds.”
[PADA: Very good advice! ys pd]

Ellen Degeneres On Believing Abuse Victims

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ellen-degeneres-apos-mom-message-153418064.html

PADA: Many GBC victims of abuse told me this was a big problem. They would tell their parents and / or ISKCON leaders they were victims of an abuse situation, and "no one listened to us, no one believed us." Later on, a few of us, like me and Sulochana, we did believe them. Yet we could not "move a mountain" and get people to report these issues to the authorities, make lawsuits and so forth. So these problems festered and grew.

Of course Chakradhari, Sulochana and maybe others who tried to bring this issue to the attention of the devotee community were branded as renegades and / or murdered. That made it harder for anyone else to come forward, fearing severe reprisals.

Some parents told me they did believe their children, but they simply silently withdrew their children, but made no police reports or public warnings to others of the problem. So that made a sort of cover up process, and their children were also often ordered to keep silent. This is what Sanaka Rsi calls "the conspiracy of silence."

Worse, many parents then got their children to worship people like Radhanath, Narayan Maharaja, and others who were the biggest cheer leaders of the whole GBC molester guru regime. Notice also that a lot of people said we were "liars" for representing these victims in the 1980s, and they still say we are liars now. That means they suppressed the whole issue then, and many still are. Anyway, hopefully this will be a good lesson for the Vaishnava community, when children report abuse, it should be taken more seriously.

And when people like us act as representing agents of these victims, we should be taken more seriously as well. The only good news now is, the devotee community has sort of been forced to confront the issue now, only because it had become a giant public media spectacle, which is apparently what it sometimes takes to wake people up on important issues.

We warned people even way back in 1980 that if they did not address this abuse issue, and forcing children to worship deviants as their acharyas etc., it would explode eventually into a public media process, but they were like Ellen's mom, they did not believe us. The rest is history.

We are all servants, by Haripada dasa

We are all servants, by Haripada dasa

The essence of the philosophy of Krishna consciousness is in a verse from Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita that says that only God or Krishna is the master and all others are his servants, in relation to this it is very interesting what Srila Prabhupada says in the Gita, 6, 29, there says that while the living entity is in the bosom of the material energy, it serves the material senses; and while in the bosom of spiritual energy, it serves the Supreme Lord directly.

In either case, the living entity is the servant of God. This vision of equality is perfect in a person who is in Kṛṣṇa consciousness. We are an energy of God or Krishna that is called marginal, marginal means we have two tendencies, the original, pure and eternal tendency is that we are happy serving God or Krishna and His devotees, and the other tendency is that we misuse our free agency and we think we will be happy living independently of God or Krishna and His devotees, this point is very well explained by Srila Prabhupada in the meaning of the Hare Krishna Maha-mantra, there he says that this atmosphere, in which we now live, is called maya, or illusion.

Maya means "what is not". And, what is that illusion? The illusion is that we try to be the lords of material nature, when the reality is that we are subject by the shackles of their strict laws. When a servant tries to artificially imitate his almighty master, that is called illusion.

Contaminated by this concept of life, we all try to exploit the resources of material nature, but the reality is that we get entangled more and more in its complexities. Therefore, despite our hard struggle to conquer nature, we depend more on it. This illusory struggle against material nature can be stopped immediately if we revive our Krishna consciousness. The cultivation of Krishna consciousness is not an artificial imposition that is done to the mind; This consciousness is the original energy of the living entity, who revives when we hear the transcendental vibration.

And this is the process recommended by the authorities for this era. Direct experience also allows us to perceive that the chanting of this maha-mantra, this Great Chant for Liberation, can make us feel an immediate transcendental ecstasy that comes from the spiritual plane. And when in fact we are in the plane of spiritual understanding, having overcome the levels of the senses, mind and intelligence, we situate ourselves on the transcendental plane.

Here the point is to get rid of the false ego, I share that in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, Chapter Twenty-two, verse 39, where Sanat-kumāra says:

"My dear King, the false ego of the human being is so strong that it keeps him in material existence as if he were bound by a very strong rope, only the devotees can cut the knot of that rope very easily, by engaging in the process of Kṛṣṇa consciousness Others, who are not in Kṛṣṇa consciousness consciousness but try to become great mystics or great practitioners of ritual ceremonies, can not advance like devotees. the activities of the Kṛṣṇa consciousness process, to get rid of the tight knot of false ego and the execution of material activities. "

A conversation with His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada:
Reporter 3: Your Divine Grace, you’re saying we can see the Lord only by consulting the scriptures and the succession of bonafide spiritual masters. But supposedly, Lord Krishna is eternal, or indestructible. So surely He must be existing today. Which means we should be able to see Him now.

Srila Prabhupada: Yes, Krishna is existing. For instance, the sun is existing, but at night you have no eyes to see the sun. That does not mean the sun does not exist. It is your deficiency—at night you cannot see the sun.
Whatever it may be. The thing is, although the sun is always existing, you require qualification to see the sun at night. Similarly, although Krishna always exists, you must be qualified to see Him in the night of this material world.
That qualification is described in the Brahma-samhita: premanjana-cchurita-bhakti-vilocanena santah sadaiva hridayeshu vilokayanti. Those who are saintly persons and in ecstatic love with Krishna—they are seeing Him twenty-four hours a day. That is not very difficult to understand. If you love somebody, you are seeing him or her always. Is it not?
Reporter 3: That’s so.
Srila Prabhupada: So seeing Krishna requires the qualification of love. Then Krishna will be visible twenty- four hours a day. He’ll talk with you. These things are described. Tesham satata-yuktanam bhajatam priti-purvakam dadami buddhi-yogam tam: “To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give intelligence.” That means He talks. “I give intelligence.” Unless He talks, how can He give intelligence—“You do this”? So you have to qualify yourself to see and hear Krishna. But Krishna is always present.
