It is amazing that some of my God brothers thought they could imitate our guru and sit in a big golden Vyasasana seat and "take over" the post of guru, knowing all the while that our lives here are very temporary. And thus, we will not sit on our golden Vyasasana guru seat for a very long time, then we will be forced to depart by the time factor. Then, we will have to explain to Yamaraja why we tried to hijack our guru's seat. Very sad future for the folks who did that.
He spent his last days completely absorbed in hearing and chanting the Holy Names. He gave up solid foods for over two months yet remained fully lucid and conscious and continually spoke Krsna katha with visiting godbrothers. He received many, many phone calls from his God brothers all over the world, expressing their love and appreciation for the service he rendered.
Bhutatma prabhu will be greatly missed but we can take consolation knowing he is with so many other departed God brothers at the feet of our eternal spiritual master Srila Prabhupada.
Anyway, Bhutatma is another God brother who has departed after a long bout with various ailments, including terminal cancer. He had a mystery ailment of very bad headaches and loss of sight, the exact cause of that problem was evidently not able to be diagnosed. So in that sense, we are glad for his departure, because that ends his suffering in this particular body. He was part of the group that sympathized with original books.
He is on another journey now, and we wish him well on that voyage.
Gadai das (David Sherk) was another devotee also suffering from terminal cancer for the past several years. He was in and out of the hospital for some time now, so we all knew he was going to depart at any time. He was very friendly with PADA and he sometimes made anonymous comments and contributions to our news.

He was basically living by himself on some remote property in North West New York State (near Buffalo) in a sort of austere cabin. That area has minus 35 degree winters, so it is very austere in winter there. So he was another person who just felt alienated from ISKCON and he just had to live independently.
And he would rather live in an isolated cabin somewhere than participate in the GBC's living guru process. He told me these gurus "made ISKCON uninhabitable." So once again, more and more departed God brothers (and sisters) and it oddly seems almost always the cause is "terminal cancer." So we believe that the GBC's "living guru" process causes immense stress to the rank and file people especially, and literally makes them sick. And literally, can cause them to die.
The conclusion is -- God speed to these spiritual souls. May Krishna help them get into His Eternal Loving Service. ys pd]

I just received word that our dear godbrother Bhutatma prabhu has left for the spiritual world. May Srila Prabhupada receive that sincere soul with open arms. He did so much wonderful service for His Divine Grace.
