Subject: A Humble Appeal for Integrity — Request for Immediate Suspension and Independent Investigation into Allegations Against Shri Dayaram Das

Dear Respected Members of the GBC,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I write to you not out of anger, but out of pain. Not to rebel, but to remind. Not to accuse, but to awaken. The gravity of the circumstances compels me to set aside hesitation and speak with clarity and conscience.

In the sacred legacy of Srila Prabhupada, we have inherited not just temples and deities, but the deeper mandate to embody dharma, truth, and compassionate leadership. When those values are eclipsed by unchecked power and institutional silence, the result is not just administrative crisis — it is a spiritual emergency.

Today, I bring to your attention grave concerns regarding the conduct of Shri Dayaram Das, whose actions have deeply shaken the conscience of many devotees and well-wishers of ISKCON.

A Pattern of Abuse and Exploitation

Numerous reports and testimonies have pointed toward a pattern of systemic misconduct — ranging from financial impropriety to coercion, land acquisition by intimidation, mistreatment of local residents, and the use of violence and fear as tools of control.

There are also chilling accounts of physical abuse inflicted upon dissenting devotees by those under his direction, including unlawful detention and bodily harm.

If these reports are even partially true, we are not merely confronting managerial lapses — we are confronting violations of fundamental human dignity and justice, under the guise of devotional administration.

How can we, as custodians of Srila Prabhupada’s movement, stand by while such actions are perpetrated in the name of service?

The Rise of Empire, The Fall of Ethics

From humble beginnings, Dayaram Das has amassed considerable wealth, influence, and infrastructure — including commercial real estate, corporate entities, and private landholdings. This rapid accumulation, especially within the precincts of a renounced order, raises profound questions of transparency, motive, and institutional oversight.

To question this is not to condemn prosperity — it is to ask whether the resources meant for service have been diverted for personal empire-building. When power becomes insulated, and questions are met with threats, the very soul of our movement is endangered.

Cronyism, Fear, and the Chilling of Conscience

Within the ISKCON Bureau and associated bodies, there are sincere devotees — thoughtful, honest, and committed. Yet even among them, a palpable fear exists.

When those in positions of responsibility are too intimidated to speak, or worse, become complicit for fear of repercussions or in exchange for favors — then the principle of collective leadership turns into silent compliance. This is not just a managerial concern. It is a test of our moral compass.

Misuse of Law and Inversion of Justice

In recent months, brave individuals — whistleblowers, community leaders, and former staff — have attempted to bring these concerns into the light. But instead of being heard, many have been silenced, threatened, or entangled in false legal accusations. It appears the instruments of state — police, legal machinery, and bureaucracy — are being deployed not to protect the truth, but to shield misconduct.

This inversion of dharma must be addressed. Swiftly. Decisively. Compassionately.

Our Humble Appeal and Request

With all humility and urgency, I place the following fourfold prayer before this esteemed body:

1. Immediate Suspension of Shri Dayaram Das

Pending inquiry, it is only just that he be relieved of all managerial and administrative responsibilities. This protects the integrity of the investigation and upholds the principle that no one is above scrutiny — especially those entrusted with power.

2. Formation of an Independent Investigation Committee

We request a high-level, impartial panel comprising retired judges, neutral auditors, and senior ISKCON leaders unconnected with the case to examine the evidence and bring forth recommendations. Internal committees may lack the credibility and independence that such a matter demands.

3. Complete Audit of Assets and Financial Dealings

All trust accounts, land transactions, business associations, and financial dealings related to Shri Dayaram Das should be brought under transparent and public review. If he is above reproach, he will welcome the opportunity to clear his name through full disclosure.

4. Protection and Recognition of Whistleblowers

Those who have spoken up, often at great personal risk, must not be punished for their courage. Instead, they should be recognized as upholders of dharma and safeguarded through both legal and institutional means.

A Final Word — From Caution to Courage

Srila Prabhupada taught us that spiritual leadership is not a throne, but a service. Not a platform for ambition, but a platform for humility.

The crisis before us is not just about one individual. It is about who we are becoming as a movement. Are we prepared to uphold truth, even when it is inconvenient? Will we protect our institutions by addressing internal decay, or allow silence to corrode our foundations?

Please do not let this be remembered as a time when convenience was chosen over conscience. Let it be remembered as the moment when ISKCON chose courage, chose integrity, chose Srila Prabhupada.

The cost of inaction is not just legal liability. It is spiritual erosion.

With faith in your collective wisdom and your sincerity to serve Srila Prabhupada’s mission, I offer this appeal with folded hands and a heart full of hope.

Your servant in service to Srila Prabhupada’s lotus feet,

Prabhu Caran das

From Bhakta Das :

As one who is a direct victim of Dayaram and who lost what would now be probably more than $1 million, I know what this is about. They now want to point the finger at Aloy Govinda @ Alok, but Alok worked always under the direct control of Dayarama, who worked under JPS. When I had a lovely land of 14 bighas that extended from the Jalanghi to the road, and was absolutely perfect, JPS personally told my son Bhishma that he will never let me keep that land.

RS: You can’t make a deal with the devil — the only thing you can do is expose him and let the public decide. A proper ISKCON GBC has not existed since the ‘Direction of Management’—written and signed in 1970—was not followed.

TD: Bureau should know that the Supreme Court case was lost with a main part being the preparation and strategy given by Dayarama. This cost ISKCON millions of dollars of which some was certainly channeled by Dayarama. His new filing of "COURT REVIEW" has very little percentage of chance of success. It is also improperly prepared.

Large sums of rupees will be required to fight the REVIEW CASE IN SUPREME COURT. That laxmi is also in jeopardy along with the whole case filed by Dayarama.

KA: Why single out one person, there are many in iskcon who came with nothing, living in temples, and today they are millionaires and billionaires with no personal income, where is accountability of all these people in position, about time gbc do some in-house cleaning of its leaders, including gurus sanyasis and grihasthas and brahmacharis.

SD: Prabhu Caran das should put out a request for all devotees with any information to send it to him. A case will need to be carefully built, otherwise the GBC might not do anything. These events must be brought to light - even outside ISKCON. The government of West Bengal must be involved. They know about the systemic corruption.

ISKCON Mayapura is a hotbed of criminal activity. West Bengal is full of corruption, it’s like living in a mafia state. You either submit or die. Do a search on "West Bengal corruption." Naturally the mafia is going to be very powerful in Mayapura with all the money pouring in there. Many disciples of Jayapataka Swami are part of it.

Jayapataka Swami certainly knows about it, but I doubt he can do anything. It is systemic in West Bengal. These thugs take devotees land. They leave the land title intact, but they threaten devotees with their life, and then they move their own people onto the land, and the devotee has effectively lost their land even though he legally owns it.

How can Prabhu Caran das be contacted? We need to get behind this. This should be spread far and wide. Share everywhere. Get attorneys involved. 🙏

PADA: Yeah Dayaram told me sure, the GBC makes homos and pedos into its acharyas, but I am going to still spend millions defending them. Anyone who supports the elite jet set gurus always has prayers, support, people visiting the hospital etc. One of the earliest lady disciples here was in a retirement home. No devotees that I know of ever went to see her, or even cared what happened to her. She was smoking at night, fell asleep, the cigarette fell out of her mouth, and started her bed on fire and she died.

There was zero response from ISKCON, no thoughts, no prayers, no nothing, because she was not part of the big elite's clique. Did I forget to mention many ex-Krishna kids live around here too, and they tell me, no one knows who we are, where we are, what happened to us, how all that affected us, or even -- if we are alive or not. Yep. Not part of the jet set elites, so they do not count, and they know it. ys pd
