Prayer Request for Vrndavana Devotees with Virus

We request ardent prayers for two wonderful devotees, Trikalajna Das and Tungavidya Devi, who are both currently fighting Covid-19, in a hospital in Vrindavan, India.

Trikalajna Prabhu served as Temple President at ISKCON of DC (New Hastinapura) for nearly 10 years starting in 1997. Both he and his wife Tungavidya Devi and their three children lived at the temple and served with tremendous expertise, energy and devotion.

Trikalajna Prabhu accomplished many projects for ISKCON of DC including a key renovation of the Cultural Hall. Tungavidya served Radha Madan-Mohan in many ways including her fantasic cooking. She also loved to make sumptuous feasts for the festivals. They are known and loved for being sincere, austere, pleasant-mannered, and always ready to help.

At this critical time of their life, we ask that you offer prayers for their full recovery and that they feel the shelter of Krishna and His Holy Name.

[PADA: For some odd reason many devotees think they are bullet proof and they cannot get this virus. Well maybe so, but maybe not. We think caution should be exercised. Srila Prabhupada chastised Harikesha for getting sick when he visited an area where Cholera was known to be spreading. He told Harikesha that it is foolish for him to visit an area where sickness is known to be spreading. 

Anyway, this is not a fun illness to have, nor a fun way to die if it comes to that. We wish these devotees well and hope they don't have to suffer too much in any case. At the same time because more ISKCON India devotees are getting this illness, its causing the India government to put a spotlight on the whole program over there, and for the government to force temple closures. Some devotees have suggested this is the GBC's karma for kicking all the people out, now these temples are a big financial burden for the GBC if they remain shuttered down. ys pd]
