Prajapati Das Departs

From JG Das

A couple more notes about our Godbrother Prajapati Prabhu:

When the book “Life comes from life” was published they didn’t mentioned his name, but he told us that a lot of those questions in the book were his to Srila Prabhupada, however, the BBT didn’t want to add too many names so they just left it as Karandhar.

Also in the video/play of “God on trial” Written by Anadi Prabhu, Anadi told me that Prajapati wrote part of the dialogues. He came and stayed at my place a few times.

I am also honored to say that I acted with him in different plays. We also spent some time together in Mexico City and traveled together from Mexico City to Guadalajara and back to Mexico City. Bottom line, we were good friends, but then again, as I mentioned before, he was good friends with pretty much everyone. He was a great person, a true gentleman, warm hearted, very kind to everyone and very talented.

Prabhupada called him “his theologian”

We will miss him dearly,

All glories to his service, all glories to our Divine Eternal Father Srila Prabhupada.

  1. CD: I just heard that our old friend Prajapati Prabhu, passed away this weekend in Iowa where he was living. He had such deep love for Srila Prabhupada,he was one of the the wonderful devotees in Srila Prabhupada's Vaikuntha Players, the drama troop that Srila Prabhupada took to India on his tour, we got to see them perform for Srila Prabhupada in Sri Mayapur Dham for the Gaurapurnima festival in 1976, he was also intimately connected with Srila Prabhupada's morning walks and conversations, as Srila Prabhupada would discuss many topics and Prajapati prabhu would give the theological perspective, so to me he was like Srila Prabhupada's educated Christian representative in so many disussions. He was involved in countless dramas all over the world, where he was called to organize and perform in the dramas. He was such a distinguished gentleman, Vedic astrologer, and he preached in the Dallas interfaith community for years, gave numerous tours in the Dallas Temple to University students and others, he taught at Eastfield community college, and other places. Others know more. He always had such a strong dramatic presence in the temple, singing Sri Ishopanisad verses in his wonderful powerful voice, and he led so many Gurupuja kirtans for Srila Prabhupada and Sri Radha Kalachandji, and he attended and gave so many wonderful classes, and he was a no nonsense upholder of Srila Prabhupada's standards and would not hesitate to correct a situation. He was so knoble and powerful, like he was always on stage. We had a very sweet relationship in person, and I will miss him as a stalwart lover of Srila Prabhupada. Prajapati Prabhu ki Jaya !!!!
