Pre-1978 Final Edition petition.
This petition will be taken to the GBC meetings next year in Mayapur. If they reject or ignore it; they'll openly expose their antagonism to the pre-1978 Final Editions

Srila Prabhupada says:"I live in my books" He also says: "Those who read my books are associating with me directly". Therefore; like thousands of other devotees and Srila Prabhupada's well-wishers do, we also value his direct words. Jananivas Prabhu from Mayapur says that it took Srila Prabhupada three days and sometimes even a week to find the correct word he wanted to use for his commentaries and sanscrit equivalents.

For this reason; we do prefer to study and distribute the pre-1978 Final Editions, because the editing work was directly supervised by His Divine Grace and he used this books to lecture all over the world; reading himself from them or making other devotees read from them. The pre-1978 Final Editions have academical value; they are accepted by the most prominent Universities in the world as "Standard Books" for research and academical quotation.
The post 1978 Versions don't have academical value and a student of philosophy and religion can get confused; because there are many post 1978 Versions and they differ from each other; which makes the academical quotation work impossible.
We thank the devotees who have signed the petition and we encourage those who haven't signed it yet. Rest assured that we are determined to take the petition to the GBC meetings. In case they reject or neglect our petition; which most probably will be the case; at least they will openly expose themselves, because at present their stand on this issue is not transparent at all. Therefore we need thousands of signatures because numbers matter.
