[PADA: Wars are bad news. All the way from Kurukshetra to the middle ages, numerous India's invasions, to the USA's civil war, WW I, WW II, Korea, Viet Nam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and different places in Africa. That being said, there is a lot of karma involved, and I get that. Anyway, here is some fall out on the current situation which might be something the devotees should consider.]
Why everyone on Facebook thinks that they understand history of our country and dynamic of Russian - Ukrainian relationship better than we do? Very few American friends asked me for insights, but everyone offers their “expert” opinion. But, actually, even Russian intelligence and American CIA both were wrong in their initial predictions.
We don’t want negotiations at this point. Any war late or soon ends in negotiations. But it’s not the time yet.
We, Ukrainians, don’t want nuclear war on our territory. Yet, European Union and Obama’s presidency have created this monster (aka what Russia is today). And now the world has to deal with it. Now European politicians are forced to finally resolve their mess.
Too bad Merkel retired just as her 20 year long policies collapsed. Much of the problem of Russia today is that Europe created the Russian empire by their compromised trade policies. They fed the monster ... and now they don't want to help the victims of their monster.
In 1994, Ukraine had second biggest nuclear arsenal in the world. The Western countries coerced us to take our defenses all away from us, but promised to protect our territorial integrity if there is a threat. It’s a shame they are not helping enough now.
We notice that "USA First" Tulsi Gabbard people do not even care that her USA takes away people's weapons, promises to defend them, then allows them to be attacked and killed. And she is angry we are even trying to save ourselves from being killed. We are now the "war mongers" ... because we trusted her and her nation to protect us. We do not want to die, so we are in favor of war? This is a war her nation made by taking our defenses away and making false promises.
That means her and her country's promises are more or less worthless, and she wants to make it appear no one should ever make any deals of trust with her or her USA, while she claims to be honest and love the USA. She is simply another person who wants nothing to do with the written treaties and guarantees her and her own country are making.
In other words, she is supporting the USA's lies and liars. Her nation are the actual war mongers because her nation disarms people, and then makes up lies about defending them fully. They are giving us some help, but nowhere near what they promised.
If we still had our own nuclear weapons, Russia wouldn’t have dared to cross the line. So the USA and Europe wanted us to have no means of defense, they in fact promised to be our defense, and then they just moved the goal posts to avoid fulfilling their promises. "Give us your weapons and surrender, and we will protect you," then the surrendered person is attacked, and there is minimal protection.
And Tulsi is complaining we are getting any protection at all. "Let them all die and forget our guarantee promises to protect them." Now they are attacking our kindergartens, and we are the war mongers according to Tulsi. The people blowing up our kindergartens are not the war mongers. Her own USA people taking away our weapons are not the war mongers. Who are the war mongers and liars?
The historical truth is, a Ukrainian has always been inclined toward capitalism. “That’s my land, my property, I am ready to work hard to get profit from my land” - that’s part of Ukrainian mentality. Russians are absolutely opposite. They are communists. That’s why in 1930s Ukrainian suffered more than any other ethnicity within the USSR - they had a lot to lose. The USA already knows Russia will kill us ... and wholesale ... therefore their promise to defend us is of great importance. Now all the sudden ... we are not that important? We are the war makers.
Today Russia has turned again into one huge Gulag, and no, we don’t want to be part of it. Too much blood has been spilled at this point to negotiate. Before we negotiate, we must fight. And the countries who took away our nuclear weapons and promised to protect our territory, such as UK and US, must fulfill their promise reflected in the Budapest memorandum. And people like Tulsi should just admit her and her country's lies are what caused all of this in the first place, and her trying to avoid responsibility is just more lies upon her nation's previous lies.
Tulsi and her nation simply have to admit the truth, "we lied." And now it is their responsibility to fix the problems created by their lies, but every day they hold back, many more people are dying from their hesitancy.

As the Soviet Union dissolved, the specter of nuclear weapons proliferation among rogue actors was a real problem, with some considering it a real threat. In May 1992, the Lisbon Protocol was signed, beginning the process to eliminate nuclear weapons from the three former Soviet states: Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
Ukraine by far had the most weapons, in fact the third largest arsenal in the world after the U.S. (No. 1) and Russia (No. 2). The 1994 agreement ultimately codifying disarmament is known as the Budapest Memorandum.
In the memorandum, assurance is given by Russia, the U.K. and the U.S. that they would help defend Ukraine in the event that they are attacked. For that protection assurance, Ukraine had to relinquish all its nuclear weapons. They were left militarily naked, hoping that the stronger nuclear wielding signatories would come to their aid should the improbable, if not unthinkable, occur — war in the 21st century.
Now the unthinkable has happened; Russia has invaded Ukraine, despite having sworn to assist the country in such an event. There is a war raging in Eastern Europe and Ukraine has invoked the conditions of the Bucharest Memorandum. The U.S. and U.K. have responded rather methodically and lackadaisically, stopping just short of sending decisive weapons.
There is often the question in the U.S. as to whether we should be sending weapons and funding to Ukraine. Why should this be questioned? We gave them our assurance. If we are to quibble about the degree of commitment that our assurance justifies, then don't be surprised when other countries with which we negotiate give us a similar assurance.
Bottom line: We are supporting Ukraine because we said we would. If the U.S. doesn’t want to send support, then give them their nukes back.

I wonder how she ended up with a $10 million dollar mansion, $10 million dollars in cash and a yacht. She is a "devotee", it must have all been through honest hard work, not through the satanic cabal backing her. PADA: Devotees need to take care of what agendas they support or are defending. Srila Prabhupada said we can become entangled in mundane karma if we defend different mundane politics.
Of course, Srila Prabhupada was very clear, communism must be taken down, or it will take us down. So -- as bad as the USA is, or isn't, that is slightly better off than those guys.
I would not say Tulsi is evil, or not a well meaning person, she probably honestly thinks -- "peace and love" is the way forward. Oooops. Peace and love does not always work with tyrannical despots.
Even Arjuna was thinking "peace and love" is the answer, but Krishna says -- that won't always work. You might have to defend yourself. And if you do, that is allowed by the laws of karma. I am not on one side or the other in modern wars, but bombing civilians wholesale is always condemned, even by mundane standards. ys pd

ReplyDeleteIn other words, Tulsi wants the USA to look like a lying sack of manure ... as if it does not have the reputation for being that already. How does it help the USA to look like a lying sack of manure? That will make it much harder to conduct future agreements and treaties.
Tulsi is tying USA's hands from making future arrangements for its safety. And this is her plan to save the USA, to make it have no credible standing on its word.
Sounds like the GBC to me. They ALSO make all sorts of promises about fixing this and that ... but it never gets fixed. Who believes anything they say now? And that is going to be the plan for USA as well? Not a credible partner on security arrangement ... makes the world a more dangerous place than ever. Good job Tulsi ... you are making it harder than ever to reach mutual peace agreements in the world.
JJ: Even Hannity tried to pin down Tulsi's actual position. Should we allow innocent men, women and children to be killed without taking action? And Tulsi said ... we should have negotiated a peace agreement. And many people said the same thing about Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini and others ... let us negotiate. The American Indians made lots of treaties and agreements too ... how did that work out?
ReplyDeleteShe has no clue what is going on. USA already negotiated that if Ukraine is attacked, USA will defend them. The agreement was already made, she just has no clue what agreements were ... or were not ... made.
And this agreement was made way before the current administration was in office, yet she blames the current administration for botching the agreement. She is the person saying USA should not keep the existing peace agreement, not the current administration.
Can someone remind her ... Hannity is correct ... if USA already made an agreement to defend them ... USA should stick to it ... or lose what little credibility the USA has. She is making it impossible for the USA to make any agreements with anyone ... if they are just going to toss the agreement in the trash when it has to be enforced.
She is making the world a much more dangerous place ... peace agreements will not even be attempted if the parties are just going to toss them. And she has made life in Ukraine a total disaster since the only reason they were invaded is because ... the Russians were counting on Tulsi's people to toss the agreement. She helped cause the invasion by saying USA should not enforce this.
In other words ... she is creating way more trouble than solving anything. Typical Hare Krishnas? Except what she is doing now is creating danger and death for millions of people by enabling this invasion ... by her tossing the peace agreement in the trash. She should have said ... we are going to enforce the agreement ... then the invasion would not have happened ... or it would have been halted immediately with USA enforcing the agreement.
She is simply trying to make herself prominent now by exploiting this war. Self-serving exploiter ... just like the elites she criticizes. That is one reason Srila Prabhupada says ... devotees should not be involved in these political matters ... because if they choose the wrong side of an issue ... they can actually cause a lot of harm to a lot of others.
Tulsi waffled on the question ... seems she knows ... tossing the peace agreement is going to make a lot of dead people ... and she will be linked to that karma by her tossing it.

PT: Why didn't the USA simply tell Ukraine to surrender from the get-go? Why send them billions of dollars worth of weapons so Ukrainians can be killed and have their country destroyed? Why piss off Russia by fighting a proxy war against them, thus making Russia more and more desperate?
Russia cannot be defeated like the weak minded USSR was in Afghanistan! US leaders should stop being hypocrites and tell Ukraine that ultimately, "You're on your own." Is being friendly toward Russia the end of the world? Nearby Belarus doesn't think so!

And that is the same reason no one bothers to make any agreement with the ISKCON GBC. They will agree to punish Lokanath, and then not bother to follow up. And that is how ISKCON got into its current mess, we should surrender to the big bullies, and then they ban, beat, molest, sue and kill people, but so what?
They are the big fat cats, the superior power, and we should suck it up and allow banning, beating, molesting, suing and assassinating.
How is that working out for ISKCON? Surrendering to these bullies is not always going to work, it might just encourage the bullies, and it certainly has done that in ISKCON.
And that is generally always the case, allowing bullies to ban, beat, molest, sue and kill others, means -- more and more people are going to get the same treatment.

M Dasi: Hundreds ... probably thousands ... maybe more ... of young girls and women have ended up pregnant ... after being attacked by Russian soldiers. One of these young ladies said "the lucky ones in our village were killed."

Why am I not even surprised? This is the same problem we have had in ISKCON. Criminals and enablers should be allowed ... and protected ... and us critics need to be shut down.
Now Russia is cutting off water and electricity, hitting food markets, so they can freeze and starve the tiny babies to death. And some devotees are saying we should just allow this ... after their track record ... they already allowed mistreatment in ISKCON.
That means they have learned nothing from their own history. I would be appalled ... but nothing appalls me from this bunch anymore. We victims have learned to expect their attitude. Even if we are not able to change the situation there ... or in ISKCON ... we should avoid being their apologists.
AC: As a Ukraine person I would say to Tulsi ... better to die standing up than live on our knees. How many people want to live on their knees? Does Tulsi want to live that way? Maybe no.
ReplyDeleteShe is being very brave to speak for others ... when she would not want to live as the slave of some other nation ... a nation that would eliminate you and your children with a tank shell or missile in your house at any second.
Who wants to live in constant dread and fear like that? Yes, it is better to die on our feet than live on our knees. And if we die ... that is better than living ... on our knees.
It is the same principle as Bhagavad Gita. We can die standing up ... or live on our knees ... but living on our knees is maybe worse than dying. Does she ever consider such topics? I don't believe she does. She seems out of touch with situation ... or maybe she is part of elites who want us to live on our knees.
I understand a little of Krishna's teachings. Everything is temporary ... includes the nation called Ukraine. That is not an excuse to bomb everyone in their temporary current abode. If America promises to defend Ukraine ... Tulsi should be first to remind people what is the honest duty of the people who make such an agreement.
When the going gets tough ... the tough do not forget or deny their commitment to help others. Otherwise ... they are already living on their knees.
SD Dasi: Russia cannot even take over a small area of a neighbor country, right on their own border ... very close to Moscow. That is why they are now resorting to bombing the electricals, food and water supplies, and robbing, raping and killing civilians. Even babies are being bombed.

Then you become a party to assisting criminals. You are responsible for the damage done to the innocent and victims. If you want to allow crimes against civilians to go on ... that is your choice ... but you should not go on public TV and tell people that is your choice.
This is the same exact operation the GBC uses ... brutalize the civilians. No one should be on their side ... or they share the karma. We were brutalized in ISKCON ... and we should not think that is the good way forward for anyone else.
