PADA: Pita das was a good ally on many issues. He was friends with a lot of people inside ISKCON -- and so he would send me copies of some of their "internal messages" that were not meant for the public, knowing PADA would make them public, hee hee! Kusakratha, Brahmananda and others did the same type thing, don't tell them where you got this from!
One thing that is interesting to me is -- he told me a number of times that he knew -- all along -- about the poison complaint from Srila Prabhupada, starting at the time it was going on in 1977. He knew a lot of details that only a person with a lot of inside info from the scene would know -- about events going on there at the time.
Nanda Kumar also said he knew something was amiss by the way the leaders were always laughing and joking, and he said he wanted to do some violence to them, but he chose to leave instead. OK another guy who knew a lot and sat on it.
Pita and one other devotee who was part of this 1977 "group of insiders" were discussing the poison issue a lot -- all along, sometimes including me in their group over the years. The "other devotee" is the one who gave me the poison tapes in 1997, but he does not really want his name out there (and neither did Pita das).
I find it rather odd that it appears that many people knew about a lot of this type stuff going on, but they never came out and complained about it in public. They would sometimes say to me, "You should get it out there -- but we won't." Ok but if no one backs up my story, how can I come out with the story?
So there has been -- in short: a poisoning complaint going on; a bogus guru appointment claim going on; child molesting going on left, right and center; all sorts of odds and ends crimes going on; book changes going on -- ad infinitum, but "we cannot discuss this in public." Well then, how will it get resolved?
"Oh Krishna will do something eventually."
OK but if your toilet is stopped up and it is overflowing into your kitchen, do you call a plumber, or wait for Krishna to come and fix your toilet? So this is a little baffling, how so many bad things have been going on left, right and center, under-reported, not reported, and often suppressing me for reporting.
Same thing many gurukula victims complain to PADA about, why didn't any of the leaders -- and / or our parents -- call the police, once they knew we were being starved, beaten and / or molested? Sounds of crickets -- but nothing said or done by the people?
What are people waiting for?
And at the same time, recently he told me that his health was really bad and he was struggling very hard just to find a place to stay and get some basic health care. And he was in a lot of anxiety over having some reliable situation. And is it not possible his life ended sooner, because of the distress he was feeling?
Why is it that these senior citizens of ISKCON have to struggle so hard at the fag end of life in so many cases? What kind of society allows its seniors and elders to struggle like this, when there seems to be unlimited funds for lawsuits and jet set lifestyles for the leaders? Just asking!
Anyway, overall Pita was with me in what I am doing and he wanted to help. He had lots of unkind words to say about the leaders and they way they are usurping the mission and ruining the preaching with countless bad media stories and etc. He also believed they intentionally poisoned Srila Prabhupada, and he wanted me to make that as public as possible. So he has been more or less -- with us.
In sum, we wish him well on his next journey. God speed spirit soul! ys pd
