[PADA: Even some newer people tell me they find it astonishing that almost none of the "original Prabhupada devotees" fought to keep his books from being severely edited. A lot of them never even mention this issue. Of course a lot of them also never discuss or barely mention the other elephants in the room, such as the molesting issue, poison issue, Hindu-ization of ISKCON issue, illicit sex guru's regime issue, or many other issues. ISKCON just sort of collapses and they are many times -- watching Netflix movies.
That is what one "newer devotee" told me. He was overhearing some "senior Prabhupada men" talking at a festival, and they were discussing their favorite Netflix movies. That is their priority issue. "Srila Prahbupada's books being edited and re-edited and re-edited"? Not a big deal issue -- evidently.
Sulochana said, "the GBC are doing a hatchet job on Srila Prabhupada's books." Of course, most of the other God brothers did not support Sulochana, or any of us, when we said we have to halt all this book re-writing process.
Oddly, even the IRM leaders like Krishna Kant Desai and Kamsahanta das chastised me severely for making a BBTI lawsuit in 1997. They assured me they were going to "negotiate a deal with the GBC's gurus" and get the legal rights to the books "in six months," and thus I was foolish to think there needs to be a lawsuit.
Even the Hitler-anugas like Sanat / Mukunda / Prahlad das / HKC Jaipur people sided with the IRM and have complained that PADA is "too heavy" on these issues, and they wanted me to help them re-establish the Third Reich instead. That will fix everything fer sure!
Yep, these IRM ilk folks thought they could "make a deal" with the molester messiah's program. And they wanted me to "take a vacation in the Caribbean" and quit writing PADA etc. Umm, well it has been a lot longer than six months, and they have not yet got "the legal rights" to own even one peanut in ISKCON. In other words, they wanted the few efforts that were being made by us to get originals -- halted. Doesn't that help the hatchet job folks?
Well now we are down to a small number of people, including Garuda, Gupta and a few die hards, who are even discussing the issue. So we are promoting their videos because for starters, unless people are aware of the issue, they won't even know the books have been changed.
And these fellows are at least helping on making an awareness of these issues, which is important for the future of the movement, if there is even going to be a future with all these changes going on. That really is the question now, "will there even be a future Krishna movement if the books are constantly being tossed into a word salad editing machine year after year"? ys pd]
BE VERY AWARE..!!! Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura Saraswati comments that there are many materialistic people who become preachers, gurus, religious or philosophers just to maintain a high level of life and complacency of the senses for them and their family. Sometimes they adopt the dress of a sannyāsī or preacher. They train some of their family members as lawyers and continually seek help from a higher court to acquire riches with the argument of maintaining temples. While those people may be called preachers, live in Vṛndāvana or Navadvīpa and also print many religious books, everything has the same purpose, that is, to earn a living to support their wives and children.
ReplyDeleteThey can also professionally recite the Bhagavatam or other scriptures, worship the Deity in the temple and initiate disciples.
By boasting devotional paraphernalia, they can also raise money from the public and use it to cure the disease of a close relative or relative.
Sometimes they become bābājīs or collect money with the pretext of worshipping the poor, whom they call daridra-nārāya ṇa, or for social and political elevation. Therefore, they spread a network of commercial schemes to collect money for the complacency of the senses by deceiving people in general, who have no knowledge of pure devotional service.
Those cheaters cannot understand that, by offering devotional service to the Supreme Personality of God, one can be elevated to a position of eternal servitude to the Lord, which is even greater than the position of Brahmā and other half-gods.
Unfortunately, the fools don't understand the eternal pleasure of devotional service. [CC - Antya Lila: 9.70]
SD DASI: Even I would have to say ... it is very strange. Almost all the "we love Prabhupada ... and we would lay down our life for our dear guru" disciples ... would simply wander off and abandon ISKCON, and abandon the mission of their guru. And they would let his books get altered ... without even challenging. And they would not even bother to try to rectify the problem. Too busy watching Netflix?
ReplyDeleteThey were all such gung ho soldiers ... but as soon as the GBC leaders (the gay gurus?) started to threaten them ... they just walked out and made ISKCON a ghost town. And let the crazies and book changers take over.
It is like a really bad movie. The invasion of the ISKCON body snatchers. ISKCON is invaded by people who have no real respect for the devotees, or the books, or the temples, or really ... for Prabhupada. And all of the big "most loyal disciples" were suddenly ... gone. They gave up without even putting up a fight. The body snatchers had the whole thing in their hands ... almost immediately.
The "we love Prabhupada ... and we would gladly take a bullet for him" army just vanished into thin air. Deserted their posts.
Then we had Bhavananda walking around ... with his entourage of young men ... and he was sometimes wearing a silly looking cape, or a woman's tutu ... and driving a Jaguar. And no one protested ... or even cared. They just said ... oh he is the direct successor to Prabhupada and Krishna, and why not?
Why not you might ask? How could they let these insane people claim to be the successors to their guru? Unless ... they really had no deep affection for their guru. There was a lot of external show ... not much substance. That seems the best explanation. I am amazed ... and appalled ... all at the same time. How could they allow this?
Their guru gave his life blood to make these books ... and they just allowed the hatchet people to chop up his books. I am sadly ... starting to realize why there is such a cancer and death epidemic going on among these people. I was hoping not to see the real cause, because it might be too much to bear. I was hoping the bad dream would pass. Not meant to happen, rather it is all just too obvious ... why all this has come to the current state of affairs.
The only hope is ... enough people will preserve the originals and keep them safe for the future. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of people with enough interest to bother at this point in time. There are some, hopefully there will be enough. We know things can get lost ... looking at the Gaudiya's history. Things get revived ... things get lost. I am hoping we won't be responsible ... as the ones who helped get it lost. That won't be good for us ... or for the world.

ReplyDeleteDear PADA
Right, the senior Prabhupada disciples do not care anymore because they gave up. ISKCON was captured by the GBC lawyers who — everything legal — turned ISKCON into closed groups of gurus, (legally registered as successor acaryas, legal heirs), and their new disciples. Everything was privatized. Similar situation when Prabhupada contacted one lawyer and asked him about the legal situation of the Gaudiya-matha being captured by two godbrothers who turned the whole thing into their private property. When Prabhupada heard the explanation of that lawyer he stood up and the lawyer later said, I never again heard from Prabhupada only until I read in the newspaper that he had started his own movement in New York. So most senior devotees have given up and only focus on their own program. Approx 400 Prabhupada disciples prematurely died most likely because they were kicked out of their service within Prabhupada's movement and couldn't get along in the outside world.
Today's ISKCON is people who simply focus to feast on the material aspect of the properties left by Prabhupada. Naturally they kick you in the teeth when explaining that Prabhupada didn't appoint successor acaryas. Even the women, Govinda dasi, Maria Ekstrand, Bhumi dasi, Urmila, Malati, Niscala, are supporting this process of having hotels instead of temples.
[PADA: The parallels to the Gaudiya Matha are stunningly similar, agreed. They even edited the books. ys pd]
LW: How many times Srila Prabhupada said ... if nothing else is done ... at least take care of my books. This is my legacy. Changing his books is ruining his legacy.
ReplyDeleteAnd that is why some believe ... they wanted to ruin his legacy. There is their agenda to do that. Anything connected to his saying he is being poisoned? What do a lot of people think? Yes.
I too am amazed so many "dear disciples" fled the battlefield ... and handed over the keys to the kingdom to the guru clown show or Kauravas camp. Take my wallet, my car keys, and while you are at it .. take my wife, my kids, my house, my life savings, it is all yours for the taking ... no questions asked.
Astonishing mindless surrendering. Surrendering is good ... but not when surrendering to the MAFIA drug lords. No wonder so many Krishna kids around here gave up the parent's religion. "I do not also want to be a mindless zombie robot ... who takes orders from sexual pervs and crooks posing as saints ... which is what my devotee parents have done."
As it turns out ... many kids had a better idea of "who" to surrender to than their parents ... surrender to anyone ... as long as it is not my parent's guru clown show. Then again ... some robot zombie parents took their kids over to Narayan swami ... thinking Tamal and Bhavananda's worst henchman is going to help their kids. More stuck on stoopid.
Where did they all go? They went wherever their frivolous minds took them ... mano rathena ... and that means they never had the proper divyam jnanam and idea of the spiritual path. Which is called superficial devotees ... they generally fail the first test. This was a test from Krishna ... and they flunked ... badly.
