PADA: OK Danny Masterson was charged as a serial sexual predator, who was evidently -- or allegedly at least -- given support from some of the Scientology folks. Some of the female victims were getting threats etc. and it looked like an organized attack on the victims.

Then Ashton Kutcher writes some sort of "letter of support" for Danny Masterson, to grant him a more lenient sentencing in court. And this has made Ashton and Mila Kunis look like apologists for a predator, at least to many folks. Obviously, this has happened because some of these people think they are above moral principles, or even the law. And they are self evidently totally out of touch with public sentiment on these issues. OK the general public has pretty much a zero tolerance level for sexual predators.

If I was Ashton Kutcher, I'd be on TV right now explaining to people that hey, I really screwed up. So please forgive me -- and my sincere apologies to the victims who correctly saw my support for their predator as a means of re-victimizing them. I goofed big time. But a lot of times, these out of touch people are too out of touch to realize how badly they goofed, or even if they goofed.

What is surprising here? From the mundane society point of view, not much actually to see here, since famous people have been engaged in illicit sexual affairs -- for centuries. And some of them were implicated in taking advantage of their maid or secretary, perhaps outright rapes, and then maybe cover ups, abortions, or worse murders, and all kinds of things. Happens all the time. And then some of their friends come over to apologize / cover up / assist them when they get into trouble, hey just like the ISKCON GBC does with their troublemakers.

What is surprising is -- that the Hare Krishnas as a society do not seem to have this level of intolerance for sexual predators. And people who have been abusers or help mates for the abusers are often repeatedly forgiven, welcomed back again, either direct or indirect, and maybe given some high social standing as leaders if not gurus. In other words, they make Ashton Kutcher look like a saint in comparison.

And the GBC's lack of awareness how bad they look to the devotees and public is simply off the hook legendary. Unfortunately, they are at it again. They gave one of the former assistants of Bhakti Vidhya Purna swami a VIP welcome at Mayapur. Incidently, some Bengali devotees from Mayapur wrote to tell me they are fed up, and going totally independent of ISKCON. They see the whole operation there is corrupt. And allowing a VIP welcome for one of the abusers and help mates of other abusers is simply another example:

A recent post here on VI showed a video of Sri Radhe and her husband, Madhava Gauranga being ushered into some VIP area in the temple in Mayapur for some festival, presumably Janmasthami.

In 2015 the CPO found Sri Radhe responsible for the abuse of the girls that had been placed in her care. For at least some of the time when the abuse occurred, Madhava Gauranga was her husband and the Dean of the now notorious school founded by AV fka BVP.

We now know that for a number of years MG was aware that BVP had sexually abused one of the students, but chose not to report it. Given the history, I find it extremely inconsiderate of them to 'push' their way to the spotlight. Some of their former students were so disturbed that they decided not to go to the temple.

After Jagai and Madhai had offered their apology and Lord Nityananda had accepted, they led the rest of their life engaged in the humble service of cleaning the Ghat. They didn't push to get power, position or any kind of distinction.
While one could argue that the crimes committed by Jagai and Madhai were far more extreme in nature, the abusive / offensive essence is nonetheless similar.

I was told that their children experienced some difficulties on account of all the drama surrounding these matters. I firmly belive that every effort should be made to ensure that children do not suffer for the sins of their parents.

PADA: Yep, one of their female victims wrote a horrendous account of how she has recurring nightmares, panic attacks and etc. They just don't care about their victims, self evident.

At the same time, the truth is that the best way for the parents to protect their children from any unwanted attention is precisely by avoiding the limelight!
It is manipulative and dishonest to continue to seek to be at the front of the queue and then when people object, cry foul because this unwanted attention may cause distress to their children.

The constant seeking of prestige, suggests that there isn't much remorse or awareness of the gravity of the harm caused. Why is it that some of the people like Subekhsana and Priti Vardhana Swami, who defended and enabled one of the most notorious child abusers in ISKCON for years are allowed to continue holding positions of power in Mayapur?

Why is Bhakti Purushottam Swami allowed to remain in power despite the litany of abuses that he is accused of? As a general rule, those people who want power so bad that they're are willing to fight to fight for it, are usually the least qualified.

All these issues, point to a greater malady, they demonstrate the extent of the frightened, dogmatic mentality that has been present in the Mayapur community for a very long time, and which has enabled years of madness in the first place!
There is a direct correlation between the degree of tolerance for abuse of the community and the quality of its leadership. If the leaders are not righteous, it falls on the community to make good on JPS's promise that there will be zero tolerance for child abuse in Mayapur!

Do they even believe there is a Krishna? How could they behave like this -- if they had any actual belief in the religion"? Good questions. ys pd

PADA: What I said in 1978 is, my children will not EVER worship ANY of these people because it is psychologically damaging to tell a child they have to worship a conditioned soul, never mind a number of the creepy conditioned souls the GBC "2/3 show of hands vote in as gurus." Even after Gunagrahi was caught watching porno, he was still accepting children as his disciples with GBC approval. Who wants their kids to worship a porno swami?

So this is a process of contaminating the consciousness of these children in various ways. Bhakti Vidya Purna's female secretary was just given VIP entrance to Mayapur, they are still honoring and taking care of their own, which continues to cause grief to their children victims. And after all the problems Gunagrahi caused for hundreds of people by his iron fisted managing, then he was buried in a samadhi, so children can go there and offer him their dandavats. ys pd
