PADA: Sheesh pilgrims. Doesn't Suresvara have to take Viagra at this stage to get it going? I mean seriously, he is about my age, same age as Grand pop Moses. No wonder I keep getting so many Viagra ads in my e-mail, they know who we are! Hee hee. 

And he is still pursuing females at the fag end of life. And he burnt out his female victim and she "no longer participates in the temple." Have we not learned by now to give assistance to the victims and not the perps. How many more thousands of more people have to get burnt out -- before we change the policy? 

Oh I forgot, Suresvara is another ISKCON GBC ilk person who preaches that God's successors / acharyas / diksha gurus / messiahs are often falling into lust, anger and greed. Why? Because they are qualitatively identical to God, and God is another lost soul [like them] who is covered by lust, anger and greed. They think God and themselves are equals, which is how we all fell here in the first place. 

Wow, they think God is another fallen fool -- like themselves. Someone told me this is the biggest anti-Krishna propaganda the Mayavadas present against Krishna's religion, that Krishna is just another fallen man, a lusty fool -- like any ordinary mundane man -- OK because Krishna is an ordinary man. Like themselves! 

Ooops, and Srila Prabhupada says anyone who thinks God [or guru] is like an ordinary man -- is going straight to hell. Why do we keep making the people who are saying God and / or His successors are deviants, as the leaders of ISKCON? And when is this policy going to stop? 

Oh no, the victim reported this to the temple authority, and they did not act. She had to report it herself. When is sympathy for the Devil going to end? Srila Prabhupada says when a guru has an affair with his follower, it is the same as a father having sex with his own daughter. In other words, it is a pedophile type of deviation. No wonder Suresvara is a fan of the pedophile messiah's project!

Dear ISKCON Members and Supporters,

The ISKCON North American Leadership Sexual Misconduct Office Disciplinary Committee Members have unanimously reached a decision concerning Suresvara dasa, a long-standing member of ISKCON who has held leadership and mentorship roles within the institution. It has been determined that he engaged in sexually-charged interactions with a potential disciple, including unwelcome hugs, a marriage proposal, and conversations regarding his attraction to her, along with his previous sexual encounters with other women. 

All of these interactions occurred while he held a leadership role, particularly that of a prospective diksa guru, and as a result, his actions constitute a case of leadership sexual misconduct.

The reason this information is being shared, here, is because it mirrors so many circumstances we’ve seen play out involving child abuse within the institution of ISKCON and underscores a serious concern raised by Srila Prabhupada, who cautioned about the potential for internal challenges within ISKCON. This situation clearly demonstrates the continued need for near constant vigilance, as individuals with decades of practice may still find themselves susceptible to the negative influences of material nature. 

Additionally, the timeline associated with this sequence of events took place between 2019-2021 and, despite the awareness of temple authorities about the situation, no reports were filed with any internal investigative body within the institution until a formal complaint was submitted by the victim in the middle of 2023.

THIS RAISES SERIOUS QUESTIONS ABOUT MISCONDUCT BEING CONCEALED AND/OR IGNORED BY ISKCON TUCSON TEMPLE AUTHORITIES.

Here is a brief summary of the events:

Suresvara dasa joined the Hare Krishna movement in July 1970. He received 1st & 2nd initiations in 1971 and 1972 while serving in New Vrindaban. 

In 2014, Suresvara was authorized to act as an initiating guru and later relocated to Tucson in 2016 at the invitation of the temple president, Sandamini devi dasi. In mid-2019, Suresvara began mentoring a woman who sought spiritual guidance and education on Srila Prabhupada. Their discussions, conducted in various locations, gradually took on romantic undertones, including longer and longer hugs, which disturbed the woman and made her feel increasingly uncomfortable. 

In response to his overwhelming attraction, Suresvara sought advice from counselors and fellow devotees as he struggled with his romantic feelings for the woman, and the consensus was that he could not simultaneously be her guru and husband.

Just before an initiation ceremony slated for January 2020, Suresvara abruptly revealed his desire to become the woman’s husband instead of her guru, leaving her shocked and bewildered. This development prompted the temple president, Sandamini devi dasi, to postpone the initiation indefinitely, however, the specific reasons for this delay were kept confidential for close to a week, which led to various speculations and rumors within the devotee community, including doubts about the woman's spiritual commitment. 

After a period of severed communication, Suresvara and the woman resumed their spiritual discussions, accompanied by lingering embraces, despite the woman’s repeated requests for them to cease. Following this, subsequent meetings were abandoned and the woman has since ceased attending classes altogether and is no longer participating in temple activities. Previously, she had been very active and was engaged in a multitude of services to support Srila Prabhupada's mission.

Similar to numerous other individuals who have been found guilty of misconduct involving adults and/or children, Suresvara continues to be promoted on various official ISKCON websites, including the official ISKCON Tucson website

(https://www.iskconsabha.com/suresvara-dasa), occupying leadership positions and being advertised as an initiating Guru. He also still maintains an active Facebook page dedicated to his Founder-Acharya project 

(https://www.facebook.com/suresvaradasavanacari). All this, despite the following sanction included on the final report of the ISKCON North American Leadership Sexual Misconduct Office’s investigation into his sexual misconduct:
“Suresvara shall not hold or act in any leadership position within ISKCON for a minimum of 1 year. Leadership includes acting as temple president, member of the Board or Council, committee leader, department head, kirtan leader, class leader or lecturer at any ISKCON temple or ISKCON event. It also includes any mentorship role, online or in-person, including presenting seminars.”

Further stipulated within the legalese of sanctions issued by the North American Leadership Sexual Misconduct Office Disciplinary Committee is the following:
“He (Suresvara) has selected, within one month of the issuance of this report, a senior devotee (approved by NALSMO) to act as a spiritual confidante and counselor and this devotee has submitted to NALSMO their written opinion that Suresvara fully understands the impropriety of his actions and is fit to resume acting in a leadership role.”

So, are we to understand that the person responsible for committing sexual misconduct is allowed to select their own spiritual "confidante" and "counselor" who will then vouch for their readiness to assume a leadership role? This is to take place, presumably, within the same community where local leaders were aware of the misconduct and failed to report it in the first place? This arrangement would be more laughable if it weren’t so grotesquely offensive in it’s transparent disregard for common sense.

In fact, despite the sanctions imposed, it appears that Suresvara remains actively engaged in discussions about planning future lectures while downplaying the severity of his transgressions. He has communicated, multiple times, that the ruling was too severe, and he continues to pursue an additional line of inquiry to have ISKCON authorities reconsider his lifetime ban on providing diksa initiation, despite his unequivocally clear disqualifications to do so.

In light of these findings and ongoing developments, I’d like to invite you to consider what it means to allow such discrepancies to persist within our community. In an era of heightened transparency and accountability available within the ISKCON community, at large, I’d like to encourage individuals to share and discuss this post to promote a safer environment for all, including children and vulnerable individuals. Your support and active participation in this ongoing discourse ARE appreciated. 

We have to collectively uphold the standards that Srila Prabhupada envisioned for ISKCON emphasizing the vital importance of child protection and community vigilance, without compromise, to preserve the safety and integrity of our spiritual family.
