Can Children Manage ISKCON's Guru System?

PADA: Oh oh, Here we go again. The little teeny children of ISKCON -- who are say for example three years old -- and then were later molested and abused in the GBC guru system's schools -- or whose gurus fell down causing them grief and problems -- caused their own problems for themselves -- because they did not study scripture / shastra properly. How many people think that a small child has the ability to "study the shastra" and decide -- who is a guru and who is not?

Then, after many children were abused, molested, and some of them committed suicide due to being abused, the argument morphed into  -- the children "got their karma." The children did not study the shastra properly, so the whole problem was created by themselves. This makes no sense at all. How can we blame a three year old child for "making the wrong choice of guru"?

This sounds pretty desperate in our opinion. They keep saying that the persons who got a bad guru made the wrong choice, which includes thousands of children, but the GBC made the choice to rubber stamp these persons as gurus. Then this video says that the GBC is not really saying their gurus are gurus, they are simply not objecting to this person posing as a guru.

OK then the guru brings his restaurant food to a woman's house, smells her house up like onions and garlic, then her guru goes and sits on a big seat and is worshiped as good as God. And suppose she complains? Then she gets banned, beat, sued or worse. Sorry, after the GBC authorizes a person to be a guru, then anyone who objects can be punished, and sometimes the punishment includes death.

This guy does not seem to have any clue, small children cannot be held responsible for determining who is -- or is not -- the guru of ISKCON. And when some woman finds out her guru is eating take out restaurant food with tamasic ingredients, she knows better than to complain at the temple, because she will be shunnned, attacked if not kicked out the door. And so on. The video does not address any of this, including that conditioned soul neophytes cannot absorb the sins of other conditioned souls.

I cannot tell a lie, the three years old children destroyed ISKCON! Not me!

=====================

Devotee: Why are there so many conflicting ideas for the ISKCON movement?

Gour Govinda Swami: Bah, stop it! There is no conflict. No conflict. No conflict. You are a mad fellow! There is no conflict, no confusion. It is all clear, bābā! Conflict and confusion are within you. Therefore you see conflict. If you put on yellow glasses, everything looks yellow. A man sees the reflection of his mind. In your mind there is conflict and confusion, and therefore you see it outside.
When Hanuman went to Ravana’s capital Lanka, he was extremely angry because the demon Ravana had kidnapped his master’s wife, Sita.

Out of anger, Hanuman’s eyes were red hot. Ravana had kept Sita in a very lovely garden, called the Ashok Van. Aśoka means, “no lamentation”. That garden was extremely beautiful. Ravan had brought so many varieties of nice flowers, fruits, and birds from the heavenly planets. In that garden were many wonderful ponds and springs. Hanuman went there, but he saw no variety. He saw everything red, because anger was inside him. His eyes were red hot. Do you understand? Are your doubts clear?

Devotee: No.

Gour Govinda Swami: No? Why not?

Devotee: For instance, when Srila Prabhupada was directly present, everything in ISKCON was under his direction.

Gour Govinda Swami: He is still directing, but you can’t see it. You have no vision. It will take time for you to understand. Be patient and wait, wait, wait. All these problems are inside you. The conflict is within you. Therefore you see such things outside.

[PADA: Wow, Gour Govinda Maharaja says Srila Prabhupada is still directing, and the directing is -- your children have to worship GGM's illicit sex with men, women and children messiahs in order to go back to Krishna. And all the banning, beating, molesting, lawsuits and murders are under Prabhupada's direction. Yeesh! And really, the problem of mass child abuse is not the problem of the victims, rather it is "inside you," WTF!!! ys pd]

  1. SD Dasi: These people never really think though what they are saying. The children of ISKCON never get a chance to study the shastra ... and then ... are able to select the person they think is qualified to be a guru. That never happens.

The local temple guru is the person that the children are told they have to worship as their guru. If they get sent to the gurukula, they have to worship whomever the guru for that location is.

They are not told they have to first study the shastra and decide who is their guru, this is all decided for them by the GBC itself. The GBC designates gurus ... and zones for those gurus ... and we either accept, or we are cast out.

And what happens to the people who study the shastra ... and they say the GBC gurus are bogus? They get booted out. In other words, you are better off not ever reading the shastra because if you read, you will find out that none of them are qualified to be gurus. And then you get kicked out.

You are free to select your guru ... but if you do not select the GBC guru ... and you select Srila Prabhupada as your guru ... you are removed. That means there is no freedom there. And if a woman finds out her guru is eating onions and garlic restaurant take out, she better not complain, same things, she is booted out. This is not freedom to read shastra and choose ... this video is false information.

  2. MD: This has nothing to do with the way things are actually running in ISKCON. The GBC says this person is a guru with "no objection." The guru then gathers together a group of fanatical disciples who think he is a pure acharya.

And the disciples might even go to the restaurant to pick up his onions and garlic take out meals, or pizzas, or whatever, thinking this is pure leela.

Then ... anyone who thinks he is not a pure acharya, gets smacked upside the head. At the same time ... the children are just told he is the guru and they have no say in the matter. And then anyone who reads the books and decides this person is not a guru, just gets ... smacked upside the head.

Sorry to have to tell this man but ... the no objection guru is still seen as a pure acharya by the followers ... and then it turns into a crazy and maybe violent personality cult. And then, when the guru is going way out of the guidelines of Vaishnava acar, the GBC just fumbles around for decades not correcting the matter. And then more and more people are victims, even children are victims.

Then the GBC says, you did not read the books, you made this problem. But you kicked out the people who said it is a problem. They are just spinning things now with their lame excuses, double-speak, and word juggling. And they never explain how children would be able to study the shastra and choose their guru either. None of this is connected to the reality they made.

This poor fellow has listened to them and he thinks all this makes sense, but he offers no explanation for these points. Another brain washing case. Pretty desperate? I think so too.
