Televangelist Pat Robertson says Putin’s march on Ukraine is the beginning of the ‘end times’

[PADA: It is amazing how many times these guys say "this is the end times," and then -- the end does not come. OK it is coming, in 428,000 years it will be the end of Kali yuga. That is not "soon," or maybe it is, if you are counting in terms of Yuga years, in which case -- Kali is very short. 

Sorry, usually none of their predictions ever seem to happen as planned. These folks never seem to understand that animal killing and other sinful activities are going to cause wars and suffering, whether in Europe, Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Syria, or anywhere else. At the same time yes, as a matter of fact, Russia's actions are God's arrangement. Srila Prabhupada said wars are made to happen by the superior authority to punish the sinful people, and that is true. Unfortunately Pat Robertson cannot see the real root issue.  

Srila Prabhupada also said a war between Russia and the USA would make China the winner, and that is already happening by default -- just with the cold war effects. China's economy is already reaping the benefits of the current imbroglio, and it seems it will benefit more and more as time goes forward. Ooops, that helps communism. And that is -- in part -- the result or religion being contaminated and thus neutralized. ys pd]

Pat Robertson says Vladimir Putin was ‘compelled by god’ to invade Ukraine (AP)

Televangelist Pat Robertson came out of his retirement to say Russia’s president Vladimir Putin was “compelled by God” to invade Ukraine. The televangelist added the shocking claim that Mr Putin’s attack on Ukraine was in preparation for a massive “end times” invasion of Israel.

The 91-year-old insisted this was all a part of an “end times” battle and that Mr Putin was just following God’s plan. Mr Robertson said: “People say that Putin’s out of his mind. Yes, maybe so. But at the same time, he’s being compelled by God. He went into Ukraine but that wasn’t his goal. His goal was to move against Israel, ultimately.”

The ageing televangelist continued to say that Russia was using Ukraine as a “staging area” and God had put “hooks” in the Russian president’s “jaws” for a reason to draw him to this stage. “Is Putin mad? Is Putin crazy? Perhaps. But God says I am going to put hooks in your jaws, I am gonna draw you into this… whether you like it or not,” he said.

Mr Robertson made an appearance on The 700 Club on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) on Monday and claimed God had his conspiracy that was being implemented via Mr Putin. “All of those troops there are going to be coming against Israel in the latter days. And God says, ‘I am going to take care of it’,” he said.

He told the viewers to “read your Bible because it’s coming to pass”. Meanwhile, Kyiv was rocked by massive explosions just hours after Russian and Ukrainian delegates held ceasefire negotiations in Belarus. The International Criminal Court has also said it will investigate Russian war crimes in Ukraine.

One US senator, Chris Murphy, has warned the fight for Kyiv will be “long and bloody”.

SRILA PRABHUPADA: The habit of killing

The first thing they did after receiving this instruction from Christ was to kill him himself. That means they didn't understand the instructions. That's why they killed the mentor first. Two thousand years have passed and they still kill. So when did they accept the teachings of the Lord Christ?

You have huge slaughterhouses everywhere where the killing process is streamed. Accept Christ's instruction: Thou shalt not kill. And you started by killing him yourself. And you continue to kill animals and declare war at every step. Murder is continuous, it's part of your daily life. You created these huge slaughterhouses.

If you have accepted Jesus Christ then why are you systematically killing. The commandment is thou shalt not kill. It's been two thousand years and you still fail to accept the instructions of our Lord Jesus Christ and you call yourself Christians. When did you embrace Christianity? This is what I ask you, because you do not obey the command of Christ.

Carol tried to translate the conversation to a different topic - "the philosophy of love." But Prabhupada immediately pointed out that there can be no love — in particular, love of God — so long as a man maintains the habit of killing.
- Philosophy begins when you know that everyone is an integral part of God. Everyone should have the full right to live safe.
