Rukmini In Legal Trouble

PADA: Oh no pilgrims, this poor woman (an ex-gurukuli child) has suffered so much over the years. I hope there is some legal assistant type person out there who can help her out right now. She is facing serious felony charges, and she was already having health and financial problems as it is. 

This is unfortunately due to a lack of support these kids never got as kids, or later on. She told me she was exploited by Ramesvara and I believe her. But there is no back up system to assist ISKCON kid victims, which is a crime in itself. 

We hope to help her by advertising her issue here. ISKCON Florida has a pile of legal eagle type people, but they are mostly GBC connected types and not helping our friends out much at all. Rukmini evidently made some legal mistakes, and there you have it, our kids were largely not trained well in making mature financial and legal choices on these type matters.   

This is so sad!

Krishna Doesn't Like Ugly Gopis

My Dear Haimavati,

Please accept my blessings. I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated May 30, 1972, and I have noted the contents. I don't know who has given you this idea of shaving your head and wearing white garments. In India only the widows are allowed to shave head. I have never suggested your husband to take to Sannyas, but we can discuss this matter further when we shall meet again in London for Rathayatra.

You remain the beautiful maid servant of Krishna. That is your business, and you should dress yourself always very nicely so that Krishna by seeing you will be pleased. Don't try to be ugly before Krishna. Krishna does not like ugly gopis. We are transcendental artists, musicians, writers, so everything should be beautiful for Krishna. After all we are members of Krishna's family, just like Krishna had 16,000 wives and each wife has thousands of servants and maid-servants and all of them are very beautiful for serving Krishna and His Queens. 

So the servants of the gopis and queens cannot be ugly, they are as beautiful as the queens. In the Vaikuntha world there is no need of serving anything because everything is already clean and beautiful. It is so clean that just like a mirror when the maid-servants would sweep the floor they could see the reflections of their bodies. So remain always compact in Vaikuntha yagna, simply by thinking of the Glories of the Lord. Don't try to do anything artificially. That is sahajia, which means a class of men that take everything very cheap. You want to perform sacrifice so continuously read our Vedic scriptures and perform the Vaikuntha yagna.

UKRAINE VS RUSSIA

OK several Russia defenders have complained to PADA that we are taking the side of Ukraine, who are the actual aggressors -- at least in their minds. OK so the reason the Russians level entire cities into rubble, and blow up my nurse friends apartment building killing all sorts of old ladies, cats, dogs, pet birds, families, women, children, babies etc., leaving many victims screaming while missing arms, legs, etc etc. is "Ukraine was doing that to Russians already and Russia responded in kind." 

Sure I said, so when are you going to show me the hundreds of blown up apartment buildings, totally levelled cities, and mass grave sites Ukraine was making, on PROVEN geo-located satellite images? Oh oh pilgrims, none of these Russia defenders ever do that? I see no satellite images of levelled cites and mass graves made by the work of Ukraine folks? Plenty from Russia's work. Wonder why?

Apart from that, two wrongs do not make a right. Assuming Ukraine is massively levelling cities full of apartment buildings and making mass graves, that does not authorize someone else to do the same thing? The criminals were shooting people in the bank, so I started shooting people in the bank as well. WTF? 

That makes me innocent. No it makes you the same level as the criminals. I cannot eat hamburgers, rob banks, or bomb civilians, because "someone else is already doing that." Nor would that argument even work in karmi court, "I rob banks because others are doing that, so I am innocent." Nope. 

So no, I do not think Ukraine folks are angels, they also eat sausages and have mass slaughter houses etc., so they are implicated. But that does not mean the other sausage eating people have authority to kill them. Both sides are wrong, but that is not a licence for one party to blow up hundreds of apartment buildings full of non-combatants, including my Hindu nurse friend, who has no part in any of this, but they wanted her -- dead. 

I see no authority for anyone to make her dead, nor would killing her help "save the Russian motherland." OK! It looks like mass killing simply for the sake of mass killing, and we should not approve of that as Vaishnavas. So yeah this looks more like a genocide than a plan to "save the people from the Nazis." Making people  dead is not saving them. Duh-oh! 

That said, Srila Prabhupada said all the soldiers in modern Kali Yuga wars go to hell, so there is no clear winner here, except, the undertaker's business. Meanwhile, Russians are abandoning their cars at gas stations in Russia, because their cars ran out of gas waiting to get gas. Russia is making life miserable for -- themselves. 

So there is something called karma chakra catching up, and it looks like it is. A Ukraine soldier said, "sure we soldiers are all going to die fighting Russia, but we are not going to die in silence, we will make a lot of noise on the way out." Looks like that is happening. ys pd

ANON ON THE POISON ISSUE

ANON was once a disciple of Prabhavishnu das, and a sincere and long standing Australian devotee since just after Srila Prabhupada departed, and who still serves at an ISKCON property in Australia. Through trusted intermediaries, the following history was received from ANON. When we tracked him down, he was understandably hesitant to speak with us, but we have his name and location on file.

“I was upstairs in the toilet of the sannyasi quarters of the North Sydney ISKCON temple in 1995 due to a very urgent, sudden call to use the toilet. I was behind the toilet door when Tamal and Bhavananda suddenly entered the sannyasi quarters. Tamal had been staying there on a visit. From the bathroom, and while I remained silent, I could clearly overhear their conversation, but they did not know I was there. Bhavananda at the time had just been sacked from Govinda's Restaurant in Sydney by Pratapana's wife, the Govinda's manager, allegedly because he was unable to control his drinking. 

Bhavananda wanted to continue living in the temple, to continue with the restaurant management for which he was receiving a stipend, but Tamal was completely opposed, saying those who could not maintain certain standards could not be so allowed. Bhavananda was getting very upset and strongly raised his voice. He wanted Tamal’s support and finally Bhavananda gave an ultimatum to 

Tamal:

"You help me with this or I will publicly expose your activities and what really happened during Prabhupada’s last year while you were his secretary.”

“Tamal became quiet and acquiesced to Bhavananda, telling him to calm down. Tamal then successfully campaigned for Bhavananda’s reinstatement and continued involvement in the North Sydney temple. Tamal then soon departed Australia.”

When ANON heard the allegations of the intentional poisoning of Srila Prabhupada in 1997, he reflected on this incident just a few years earlier, and he now strongly believes in his heart that Bhavananda's extortionary threat to Tamal was to reveal something about Tamal’s involvement with Srila Prabhupada’s poisoning. LEO DEY // ISKCON'S UNSUNG HEROS

Today, I received the sad news of the passing of Sabhapati Prabhu, my ex father in law, in Mayapur. This moment brings back a flood of memories of his unique character, his unwavering service to ISKCON.

I recall a conversation we once had when he was deeply hurt and disillusioned by disputes with the management, who were mistreating him despite his immense service to the Australian yatra. I told him, “When you pass away, many devotees will come forward with words of praise and eulogies—the same people who caused you so much grief.” He simply replied, “But there will also be many people who will remember the loving service I have done for Srila Prabhupada, despite our personal differences.” He was right.

Sabhapati was always someone I deeply appreciated for his honesty. He had his share of flaws, as we all do, but he was refreshingly straightforward. You always knew where you stood with him. Over the years, I was privileged to witness his sweeter side as well. He was a true people person, someone who could connect with Australians on a level that made them feel welcomed, inspired, and involved in Krishna consciousness. I know countless devotees who came to Krishna consciousness because of him.

It was painful to see how the management at New Govardhan farm treated him in his later years. After all he had sacrificed and built for the community, he was met with such dismissal and unkindness. It disturbed me deeply to see a man, so loyal to the cause, face such treatment. Despite this, Sabhapati never wavered in his commitment. He tirelessly spoke about the changes he wanted to see, not for himself, but for the benefit of the community he loved so dearly.

I used to wonder why he remained so passionately involved in the very place where he had faced so much hurt. But it was his unwavering loyalty to Srila Prabhupada’s mission and his unshakable belief in Krishna consciousness that kept him going. Even when he was asked to leave the farm, he remained devoted, a testament to his integrity and his love for the process.

Some of my fondest memories of him were listening to his personal stories about Srila Prabhupada. Those memories were his true treasures. Whenever he spoke about those early days of ISKCON, his eyes lit up, and for a moment, he seemed truly alive. He could talk about Prabhupada for hours, and those moments were when I saw the depth of his heart.

His passing feels like the end of an era. However, it’s also a stark reminder for us as a community. Let us learn to truly appreciate, value, and honor the contributions of those who have paved the way before us. Let us not wait until their departure to offer words of praise or show condolences. Instead, let us express genuine gratitude and kindness while they are still with us.

The sacrifices made by the previous generations—devotees like Sabhapati—are the reason we now have the privilege of worshiping in beautiful temples, singing, dancing, and taking prasadam in a convenient and harmonious atmosphere. Sometimes, it feels like we forget how much they endured to build what we now take for granted.

Sabhapati Prabhu was a true Prabhupada man. I pray that he achieves the spiritual perfection he dedicated his life to.

I hope we all take a moment to reflect on his contributions and learn from his unwavering dedication to his Guru Shrila Prabhupad.
