Acharya Managment? / Indra Becomes an Ant / Disturbing Statements 06 19 26

ACHARYA MANAGERIAL BOARD?

CM DASA: There is a commission for sannyas and gurus. It was not an easy time after Srila Prabhupada passed away. We experienced it ourselves. Now there are just over 100 ISCKON Gurus active. Recently one guru was dismissed.

The whole process took about 2 months. He can now set up his movement and succeed or fail. We'll see who will follow him after he leaves ISKCON. There are a lot of scam gurus outside of ISCKON also. Nobody checks them. The world of cheaters and deceived as Srila Prabhupada said. They easily cheat and deceive people. At ISCKON, this is a well-functioning system at the moment. What is your suggestion for managing ISCKON????

PADA: There is a managerial board commission to manage Krishna and His successor gurus? And the gurus they are annointing and selecting are often falling, and even falling into illicit sex with men, women and children. Where is the "guru management" here?

Where does Srila Prabhupada say there will be a management board to administer the acharyas? The acharyas are managed by conditioned souls who fall down all the time? If the GBC is in charge of managing their acharyas, and maybe 80% of them are failing, that means they are not selecting bona fide gurus in the first place.

That also makes acharyas subordinates to the committee of the repeatedly falling down. You guys have the system upside down, the acharyas advise the fallen, the fallen do not advise the acharyas. What? When Hansadutta was drinking Vodka, taking tranquilizer percodans and having affairs with half dozen ladies, the GBC commissioners came here for an emergency meeting.

I burst into the meeting and said, intoxicated womanizers cannot hold the post of acharya. The GBC rejected my advice, and they said Hansadutta must remain as acharya and worshiped in the Vyasa seat. No one has ever explained what is an intoxicated womanizer acharya? And the management board failed to fix their Vodka acharya problems, and Hansadutta got much worse, he was taking even more intoxicants.

And he was still drinking Vodka the day he left the planet. I am sorry that you guys think Vodka drinking womanizer acharyas programs are "well functioning." And most of the over 100 gurus they made fell down. And just before they blooped, they 2/3 show of hands voted in more acharyas.

How can blooping out people be acharyas, and vote in more acharyas? What is my suggestion? Stop making intoxicated womanizers and their hand maiden defenders and promoters into acharyas. And promote the actual acharya Srila Prabhupada.

It is amazing to me, as a Western person, that I have to explain to ANY residents of Bharat that intoxicated womanizers, and their cheer leaders, are not, were not, could not have been -- Krishna's successors. Why does anyone need this to be explained to them? ys pd angel108b@yahoo.com

KING INDRA BECOMES AN ANT 72 TIMES

Did you know this ant had become the king (Indra) of heaven 72 times?

After Deva King Indra killed Vrutrasur, all the three worlds of people were cheering him. In the ego of his victory, Indra called Vishwakarma and said, "Build a grand palace for my glorification, like no one has built till date!"

The palace had become — decorated with marble floors, gold ornaments, and diamond windows. But Indra's mind is still not satisfied, he continued ordering him to grow it bigger and bigger. Vishwakarma finally went to complain to Lord Vishnu after getting tired.

Lord Vishnu smiled and spoke —

"Ego is cured by a mirror, not by a hammer."

The very next day a 10 year old boy (Lord Vishnu himself) reached Indra's court barefoot. When Indra asked -- "who are you"?, the boy replied:

"I am the one who comes when a king starts thinking himself as good as God."
Indra got very angry at being insulted, but the child began pointing to a long queue of black-brown ants walking on the floor and asked, "Can you count how many of these ants have already become Indra previously?"

At the same time, many more Rishis came into the assembly meeting and they also saw the young boy. The young boy picked up an ant on his finger and told Indra: "Look at this ant. It's an ant today, but it's been 'Indra' sitting on your throne of heaven 72 times already! And now it is back to being an ant."

Indra was surprised. Then the little boy Vishnu explained to him the cycle of the time of the universe - 14 Indras change in one day of Brahma ji. Lomesh Rishi who was there -- was showing his head of hair and he said, "One hair falls off me on the completion of one of Indra's tenures (life). Guess how many Indra's reigns I've seen."

That ant's story was even more shocking. The ant was formerly a king named 'Satyavrat' in an earlier Kalpa. He conquered the heavens and took over Indra's post. But as soon as he got so much power, he became illusioned of being immortal. He stopped the sacrifices and insulted the sages.

He fell from that post as soon as his virtue credit was over. Then he fell, first as an elephant, then a lion, a dog and finally -- as an ant -- because of his pride! Then due to some remaining virtues he rose back and then became another Indra. So he was wandering among 8.4 million species, from lower, then rising higher due to virtue, from an ant to being another Indra, over and over. This is the cycle of the world of karma.

Indra's pride and arrogance was broken after hearing all this. He was embarrassed and ashamed for being so foolish. That queue of ants now looks different when we can see their 'past'. He immediately called Vishwakarma and said:

"Destroy this palace. It's not mine, I'm only a tenant here. And tenants don't get their name written on the house of another." Lord Vishnu in the form of a child then gave one last sermon to Indra while showing His four armed form:

"You will continue to fall repeatedly as long as you think 'I am the great king Indra'. The day you will say 'I am an eternal servant of Vishnu', you will rise." Power and position are temporary friends and no position here (no matter how big it is) is forever.

Self promoting ego is the reason for our downfall. We can rise by virtuous action, but fall when our ego drops us back down to the ground (or below that). Conclusion:
Whenever we feel like we're an important person at the top, watch the ants walking on the ground.

And consider how we are very small and insignificant. And understand how even an ant can rise and become as high as Indra from virtuous karma and service, but can then -- fall back -- to becoming again an ant! Again, and again and again. This was the lesson Vishnu as the young boy wanted to teach us.

A VERY DISTURBING STATEMENT:

CHOOSE WHICH SUICIDE

On Nov. 9 and 10, 1977 Srila Prabhupada stated several times that he had been poisoned, and on the morning of the 11th was the occurrence of the forensically certified whispers “the poison’s going down” and “is the poison in the milk?” Then a very unusual and disturbing conversation took place in the afternoon of Nov. 11, 1977 (ConvBk 36, p. 378-380).

The devotees have been discussing Srila Prabhupada’s desire and proposal that he be taken by bullock cart on a multi-day parikrama pilgrimage from Vrindaban to Govardhan Hill, many miles distant over poor quality, very rough and pot-holed country roads.

An intense controversy develops as some, particularly Tamal, Bhavananda, and Jayapataka try very hard to dissuade Srila Prabhupada from going on this parikrama by citing the physical stress and danger to his health and life. The kaviraja deemed the trip would be fatal due to the rough roads. Srila Prabhupada was determined to go, however, as can be seen in the conversation.

Tamal: This seems like suicide, Srila Prabhupada, this program. It seems to some of us like it’s suicide.

SP: And this is also suicidal.

Tamal: (turning to others) Hmm. Prabhupada said “And this is also suicide.”

(turning back to Prabhupada) Now you have to choose which suicide.

SP: The Ravana will kill, and Rama will kill. Better to be killed by Rama, eh? That Marica- if he does not go to mislead Sita, he’ll be killed by Ravana. And if he goes to be killed by Rama, then it is better.

Then a little later, after Tamal, Bhavananda and Jayapataka all vigorously try to convince Srila Prabhupada to wait until his health is stronger before attempting such a strenuous physical ordeal as a Govardhana parikrama: “

SP: But I think I shall be cured. Tamal: Prabhupada says he thinks he will be cured by the parikrama.”

Hansadutta calmly objected that if Srila Prabhupada was convinced parikrama would cure him, and he was determined to go, and was asking for his men to take him on parikrama, then how could any faithful disciple put forward any contrary arguments?

But Tamal did not appreciate Hansadutta’

s opinion, and according to Urdhvaga das, shortly afterwards and outside of Srila Prabhupada’s room, verbally blasted Hansadutta for wanting to kill Srila Prabhupada. Hansadutta was stunned and shocked.

TAMAL’S REVISION OF THE “CHOOSE WHICH SUICIDE” INCIDENT

Tamal altered the Rama / Ravana conversations in his TKG’s Diary (p. 345-6).

He cleverly alters and re-engineers the conversation; Tamal often rewrote history, and here we see his “sanitization” skills.

Compare his version below to the actual one above.

“Jagadish: Why do you want to go on parikrama?

SP: Let us call Krishnadasa Babaji and then decide. Either Ravana will kill, or Rama will kill. Better to be killed by Rama. If Marica doesn’t go to mislead Sita, he will be killed by Ravana; and if he goes, he’ll be killed by Rama.”

We gave many arguments for accepting the advice of the kaviraja. “

SP: But I think I will be cured by the parikrama.”

Conspicuous by his absence, Tamal has removed himself from the conversation completely. He has also removed the subject of suicide and his saying “Now you have to choose which suicide.”

Subtle but brutal is how Tamal attempts to re-package himself as the hero of the “final pastimes.” We are keenly aware of his rewriting tendencies and his dark pen. Another example: he omitted very outrageous, controversial parts of his book Servant of the Servant when it was reprinted in 1991 after the zonal acharya system fell from favor.” (Srila Prabhupada’s Hidden Glories, 1.346)

“CHAPTER 86: SRILA PRABHUPADA CALLED ALL TO COME –

Little bits of historical evidences have been spliced together to reveal a colossal misdeed by a few of the top ISKCON leaders in Oct. 1977 whereby they conspired to conceal Srila Prabhupada’s request that all devotees should come to see him and be with him in his last days in Vrindaban. Srila Prabhupada returned to Bombay in mid-Sept. 1977 and soon expressed his desire to Tamal to have all of his disciples come to see him in Vrindaban immediately. Tamal told several devotees about this when Srila Prabhupada to Vrindavana by train from Bombay on Oct.2, 1977. But this message never reached the devotees around the world because it was deliberately changed: -that only a few senior devotees should come on a rotational basis.

This is one of the greatest tragedies for all devotees: that Srila Prabhupada had called each of them to come see him a final time and be with him as he departed for the spiritual realm, but they never got the message. It was concealed and modified by a few top leaders. Narasimha das recalls that Jagat Guru das had started arranging for pandal tents and accommodations on the temple roof, expecting over 1000 devotees. Confirming sources include HSUnpub Oct. 3 (“changed the message”), Tamal, Satsvarupa, BBT newsletter, Jayadwaita Swami, Ameyatma das, and others. Ramesvara in his 1980 interview said: “...

Prabhupada said in June, ‘So if you keep like this, reading and chanting by me then I can go on like this.’ Then he said, ‘Don’t leave me.’ And we didn’t understand. Everyone thought they had to go back to their duties. Prabhupada said, “Don’t leave me.” This will be a big theme in those last months. Prabhupada calling to his disciples, “Don’t leave me, stay with me, chant and read always by me.” And so many of them, including myself, left. It’s the one thing I can never forgive myself for, that I wasn’t pure enough to serve Prabhupada in that way.” Of course, Ramesvara does not come clean with how he was integral in discussions with other GBCs to change the order.” (Srila Prabhupada’s Hidden Glories 1.508)

PURPORT

Whenever an ācārya comes, following the superior orders of the Supreme Personality of Godhead or His representative, he establishes the principles of religion, as enunciated in Bhagavad-gītā. Religion means abiding by the orders of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Religious principles begin from the time one surrenders to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. It is the ācārya’s duty to spread a bona fide religious system and induce everyone to bow down before the Supreme Lord.

One executes the religious principles by rendering devotional service, specifically the nine items like hearing, chanting and remembering. Unfortunately, when the ācārya disappears, rogues and nondevotees take advantage and immediately begin to introduce unauthorized principles in the name of so-called svāmīs, yogīs, philanthropists, welfare workers and so on. Actually, human life is meant for executing the orders of the Supreme Lord, and this is stated in Bhagavad-gītā (9.34):

man-manā bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru
mām evaiṣyasi yuktvaivam
ātmānaṁ mat-parāyaṇaḥ

“Engage your mind always in thinking of Me and become My devotee. Offer obeisances and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me.”

The main business of human society is to think of the Supreme Personality of Godhead at all times, to become His devotees, to worship the Supreme Lord and to bow down before Him. The ācārya, the authorized representative of the Supreme Lord, establishes these principles, but when he disappears, things once again become disordered. The perfect disciples of the ācārya try to relieve the situation by sincerely following the instructions of the spiritual master.

At the present moment practically, the entire world is afraid of rogues and nondevotees; therefore this Kṛṣṇa consciousness movement is started to save the world from irreligious principles. Everyone should cooperate with this movement in order to bring about actual peace and happiness in the world.
